Capitol 6 Theatres

A cinema that is unabashedly unafraid to be a unique movie-going experience, from the beautiful architecture, the amazing fiddle leaf fig tree, to even their pre-show (their "don't talk or text" ad made my entire theatre applaud, something I can't say I've ever seen before). Friendly staff. Great popcorn. What else can I say? I was very glad to learn they won't be closing down anytime soon. Will never choose anywhere else if I can avoid it.

Wonderful building, great staff, fresh popcorn, comfortable reclining seats, very good sound. Screens are a little small, but how can you really complain, we had a great afternoon when it was below freezing out. I wish I lived near this place!

I love this theater, it is very nostalgic for me as I went there as a kid. The building is 100 years old, but maintained. There is a fun, spiral ramp to walk up, with a ginormous fiddle leaf fig tree growing up the center and overhanging part of the ramp. One of the washrooms is up a flight of stairs (above the concession stand) and it has a short hallway (just before going in) that looks over the theater hallway. Staff are friendly and proud of their theater. The seats are big comfy recliners. There is only a mild slope/incline, so it helps if the person in front of you reclines if you do (especially if sitting at the back), but not much of a problem either way (unless you're quite short maybe). Also, NOT being a Ceneplex theater, they play some movies that other theaters don't. Oh, and when you've bought multiple tickets online, you receive just one bar code for all tickets, no need to have multiple bar codes to scroll and have scanned.

Best movie theatre in the city! Best concession and comfiest recliner chairs. No IMAX but idc

Very nice little cinema location with a very unique atmosphere and entrance way up to the theatres.
Worth checking out.
The seats in the theatre were very comfortable and reclined.

MICE AGAIN!

I could here some thing chopping behind me sounded like popcorn in theatre 2 today. Turned my phone light on and sure enough a mouse took off. Same thing happened a few years ago when I saw a Star is Born. Seen mice at DT odeon as well. Best way is to find out how they are getting in the building to fix this. Never seen mice at Silvercity which I been to hundreds of times, or the Langford Odeon.

Capital 6 is nice theatre but hearing mice eat popcorn behind you is not the movie experience you pay for!

Theatre has very strict Covid-19 measures, which means buying two seats in the middle almost certainly guarantees that you get the row to yourself. And with every other row vacant, the closest other person is much more than 6 ft away.all the staff wear masks and gloves. I feel much safer seeing movies in this theatre than some of the other ones in town.

My husband and I love the Capital 6 theatre! It is so comfortable and a great deal! We usually bring a blanket as it can be a little chilly but with those seats, the blanket just helps to make us enjoy the experience even more. We recommend to everyone who comes to Victoria!

This theater has taken every precaution during the pandemic. Reserving out every second row, partisans where applicable, masks where they can't. I was apprehensive going in but that all went away when I saw how they were doing things. Seeing previously great movies on the big screen is a treat and I hope people come out to this theater.

Great, friendly service. They show a variety of films, including independent movies the other theatres won't carry. Fantastic local theatre.

Best consistent theatre in town! Lot's of space. Very comfy recliners for each seat. Unlike other theatres, the seats have two adjustment settings instead of one. The food is expensive but getting a large soda gives you refills. Walking up the rounded ramp to get to the theatre is very cool. Would recommend, especially for late night scary movies.

Imagine a theater that you go to like cineplex, except its cheaper in price, seats are way better, building is more aesthetically pleasing.
Projector and audio quality is on par, or better than many cineplex auditoriums (excluding Atmos auditoriums)
And best of all, the place feels like home

Capital 6, please never sell your business! If anything expand 1 more theater to mainland (not downtown Vancouver)

Great popcorn, friendly staff, comfy seats. Unfortunately no paper straws or recycling (like the other theatres in town). Will be taking the family elsewhere. Disappointing.

I was not expecting the recliner Lazy Boy seats. This place is definitely a hidden gem. The theaters were clean and the staff were very friendly. I loved this place and will absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone, and will be coming back next time I'm in Victoria and want to watch a movie.

It’s a pretty chill place. Their seat are incredibly comfortable and they have lots of different flavor drinks

The recliners are great, make a movie much more fun. Although, the seats we had did have restricted views.

Nice old (retro?) movie theater with recliner chairs. Snacks slightly more reasonable than other theatres.

I have been coming to Capitol 6, only a block away from where i live for the last 3 1/2 years. I came to see the 7pm showing of "Little Women" on New Years Eve. 10-15 minutes into the Movie two rows diagonally ahead of me i see a bright light! Yes, some inconsiderate, is Texting! I firmly said TURN THAT OFF, and they did. Later when i got home i phoned to inquire if you had on screen announcements about turning off Cell phones that i missed. I was told by a nice Manager that you did not, but Staff do warn people to turn off phones which i have never seen or heard when i`ve been at a movie at the Capital. You are way behind your competitor across the street. They have at least 2 on screen announcements. If you can not do that, do it live! As a Victorian i really appreciate you keeping the Capital alive!

The popcorn is so bland I swore I would never come back to this theatre. I gave it a second chance and went back again, and the popcorn was equally sub par.

The seats are super comfy. It's pretty accessible even if youre injured. I like the combos as well.

I love the character of this theater! They have added reclining seats which makes the theater even more lovable.

Love the seating and glad it has returned. Multi adjustable recliners are the best in town! Loses a star for rising ticket prices and lack of a rewards program.

On Sundays 10am to 12: 00 a Baptist church is held. This is such a great venue for the cgurch to meet at. Wheelchair accessability is there and seats are comfortable for everyone. I love attending here. Irs very welcoming.

Comfiest movie theatres sits I've ever experienced. Cushioned, wide, and with electric footrest / recline functions. I want these seats in my house! 10/10 would nap through a movie again.

Good theater, has some of the most comfortable seats, offers online booking, has free refills on popcorn and drinks. The only reason I see not alot of people going is that it's downtown. But there's free parking nearby after 6, and ev charging.

Plus, because it's not super busy it means there's no three-year-olds kicking your seat or yelling!

Overall, this is my go-to movie place for Victoria. Love it!

Super recliner seats.wow! Staff very friendly and efficient at the ticket and food counter. Smaller theatres and screens so recommend seating in the middle to front but otherwise a great evening overall.
