Dr. Blondel and the receptionists here are absolute angels! She’s so sweet and patient with my dog. Takes the time to explain things thoroughly and answers all my questions. I’ve never felt rushed during an appointment. She also doesn’t recommend things my dog doesn’t need just to make more money - I’ve had some unpleasant experiences in the past at other clinics. The receptionists are also so pleasant. They’re very organized, on top of paperwork, follows up on things and answers emails quickly. Highly recommend! I’m going to be a loyal customer for sure:)

Extremely unprofessional and petty staff. Please take your pets to somewhere better. Save your time, your money and energy. HORRIBLE attitudes. A place full of goons where their own vets are leaving and disappearing on them.

Wonderfully caring, professional staff. They are one of the few veterinarians that competently treat birds and guinea pigs. As a result, they are very busy.

Wonderful vet clinic! I take our birds here (two conures) and they are always treated so well. Highly recommended.

Dr. Chow is extremely caring and truly looks after your pets best interest. It gives me great comfort knowing she will not order unnecessary tests and put my pets through unnecessary procedures. I drive 40 minutes to bring my pets to see her and have been seeing her since 2014. They are fantastic.

Front staff are impatient and rude and all you hear is sighs like they are over worked. The waiting room is too small and your expected to wait. They are not professional in any sense of the word.
The doctor was nice enough but killed our pet because they would rather have the money then be honest.

I have been bringing my rabbits here for ten years. Every time I get in a cab for an appointment, the drivers ask me what is so special about this vet, stating they drive people there from places as far as West Van and Ladner. I always have to explain that Cap Hill is an exotic pet specialist and by far the best one in the lower mainland.

What a relief it is being able to drop off one of your sick babies for the day knowing they will be cared for and safe for the duration of their visit, rather than feeling scared and alone.
Dr. Chow, Dr. Wong and every single one of the staff at Capitol Hill are knowledgeable, kind and clearly love their jobs.

For anyone complaining that they are always busy, I am not seeing the negative side to this. If your vet is always available, I would think that would be the greatest cause for concern
They always do their best to squeeze you in if your animal needs immediate care.

Don’t bring small animals here. They aren’t trained enough to know how to properly handle situations where they are sick.

We bring our dogs, crested gecko, hamsters, love bird, and guinea pig here to see Dr. Chow. We have always had a great experience each time. So friendly and knowledgeable. The staff at Capitol Hill are fantastic.

Dr. Chow and her team were wonderful! I brought my rabbit, Coconut, in for a neuter and an opening ear pinnae surgery. The team and Dr. Chow were so professional and caring when it came to the many questions I had regarding his aftercare. He has since made a full recovery and I’m grateful for superb care he received.

The front end staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Dr. Wong was GREAT! He listened to everything I had to say and then did an examination. He suggested the best plan of action to find the cause of pain, which he believed to be the reason for the drooling.

The staff and Dr. Wong were reassuring and provided me with support even after headed home with her.

I am so grateful for the high quality care I received on my first visit to Capitol Hill! I was worried about my dog after a weekend trip and Dr. Chow and her team were so compassionate and thoughtful. It was a positive experience and i recommend taking your pets here

I could not say enough good things about Dr. Chow. She is the most knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate vet I have ever met. She has been been looking after my sweet senior guinea pig and has provided us with superb care. Her hard work is the main reason that Fluffy maintains a good quality of life and has survived having GI stasis several times. I trust her fully with my little piggies. She gets just how precious these little ones are to their human families. She is also the only vet who has ever asked how I am doing, amidst all the crazy chaos of having a sick pet. I could honestly go on and on and on. She is simply the best.

The only hard to manage part is that the office is very busy and the front desk staff are not particularly flexible. Be prepared that in an emergency you may not be able to get in and may need to wait several days with a sick pet. I wish there was two of Dr. Chow. It would make the world an even better place for exotic pet parents in the Lower Mainland.

The first time I took my rat their and was told she had URI but was given enough medication or information to take of her. I had to put source more or pay for another just to get prescription.
The 2 nd time one of my rats has a tumour I called and made and appoint for 3 days later and she already had 2 Timor by the time vet saw her. She prescribed a medication with out giving me the name of it but said it would be around $100 and I could pick it up in North. Vancouver in 4 days. So I travel 90 minutes to get it o my to find out itje prescription was not sent in. I sent email but they did respond and when I called they said they were busy to deal with other me. Finally someone got back with no apology or reparations for wasting my time and putting my pet in further jeopardy of devolving another tumor.

THE BEST CLINIC FOR ALL PETS! I have my fair share of fur-babies, from cats and dogs to hamsters and mice. I’ve seen all 3 current doctors, and each and every one of them have been patient, kind, and caring. My questions were always answered with no judgement and with the utmost patience and kindness. I was given multiple options in terms of treatment, explanations were always reiterated whenever they were lost in translation, and it was always made sure that I understood and that I can always interrupt should I have further questions or concerns. They really know how to build a trusting and loyal relationship between them and their clients. They are always so gentle with my fur-babies and have a way with them. You can really tell that they are compassionate. Thank you to the team at Capitol Hill, you are the best team out there and I wouldn’t trust anyone else!

Our two Guinea Pigs had their first ever vet visits at Capitol Hill. The Guinea Pigs were very dramatic but the staff were very kind, gentle, calming and knowledgable. They answered all our questions and were so calm when handling a very dramatic guinea pig. I wouldn't hesitate to recommending Dr. Chow and the staff and veterinarian technicians at Capitol Hill Animal Hospital, they are fabulous.

Dr. Wong did a fantastic job handling my typically difficult cat. My cat absolutely LOVED him and she is usually pretty moody around new people. Dr. Wong was super helpful, explained to me lots of different ways to try and help reduce my cats anxiety and hissing issues around new people and also gave her all her vaccinations without her getting even slightly upset. The receptionists are also wonderful! If I could give 6 stars, I would!

One of the front desk ladies was kinda curt and unfriendly when entering but the vet tech girls were absolutely amazing and flexible and kind and my way out being billed and educated about return visit was stellar.

Dr Chow is simply the best! She took in my sick ferret as an emergency patient when no other vet would. He had a high fever and wasn't eating well which made him anemic. Dr Chow monitored him for 2 days straight at the hospital preforming all necessary tests to rule out the worst cases. She even took the time out of her day off to call the emergency clinic to make sure he is recovering well after his surgery. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to Dr Chow and all the staff at the Capitol Hill Animal Hospital for being so caring and going above and beyond to help my little guy.

Dr Wong is probably one of the best vet in the area. Taking time to check all the records, very informative about the diagnosis, cares for the animal patients. Highly recommend.

Heartbroken experience. I took my 6-year-old rabbit that had barely been eating for 3 days in yesterday (charged $40 extra for emergency drop off) and Dr. Chow diagnosed him with GI stasis just by feeling his stomach. After some treatment, my rabbit was sent home with motility medication and critical care powder (billed $450). I followed all prescription instructions but the next day, my rabbit was in a much worse condition: could not stand up or lift his head and was constantly having diarrhea. I immediately called and emailed the hospital and Dr. Chow called back about an hour later, still insisting that my rabbit had GI stasis, but now emphasizing that GI stasis could be a result of other underlying conditions. She did NOT mention this yesterday and NO BLOOD OR URINE TESTS were done. Dr. Chow insisted that she spoke about the option of doing an X-ray yesterday, but she had only brought it up after I told her my rabbit might have chewed up some rug fibres (she mentioned that it would be very difficult for the X-ray to pick up such fibres anyway). She assured me that there was nothing significantly wrong upon physical examination, but within just 24 hours after returning home, my rabbit PASSED AWAY. While Dr. Chow was patient and responsive, I felt that her diagnosis was very unprofessional. Not receiving the correct diagnosis and treatment lead to dire consequences for my poor rabbit. RIP Immanuel

Out of ANY business I have ever dealt with, hands down, the best customer service. All staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. Shout out the their fantastic team for always taking great care of my dog and easing my dog mom anxiety.

I went to this veterinary office with my 4 month old Guinea Pig Henry and the customer service was absolutely phenomenal, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Dr. Meyer was extremely knowledgeable about Guinea Pigs and spent time answering all my questions. Such a wonderful experience with all the people at this office.

Dr Chow is wonderful! She took my sick little Guinea pig in when another vet couldn’t help her & fixed her right up. She is incredibly knowledgable & has taken the time to talk to talk to me several times. She took excellent care of my baby girl & saved her life! I will trust her with my fur babies any time!

Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Everyone was eager to help in every way. I could tell right away that my rat, Rose's surgeon was well-versed in rat needs and behaviors and while Rose didn't make it in the end (through no fault of CHAH), I would absolutely entrust my other rats in their care.

Recently, my bearded dragon was diagnosed with incurable cancer and I was left with no choice but to euthanize him. Dr. Cindy Chow was so caring, knowledgeable and empathetic in guiding me through the process and assuring me I was doing the right thing. Considering the devastating circumstances, Dr. Chow and the other staff including the one who assisted with the euthanasia, the one who informed us of memorial options afterward, and the one at the front desk made our experience as easy as it could have been. My partner and I have been taking our Guinea Pigs here for about a year and a bit based on a recommendation from a family member. Capitol Hill has been fantastic with their care for both of our pigs. Prices are very fair and surgery costs are broken down so there is no hidden fees. Planning on trusting Capitol Hill with our pets for as long as we can. We definitely recommend this vet.

Thank the heavens for Dr. Chow she recently seen my cockatiel Sunny about some broken blood feathers and is on the way to recovery. We have several ferrets. We had them checked up as routine and they were extremely knowledgeable, even the non-specified ferret staff.

We suddenly had an emergency and had to go to a 24/7 emergency hospital where they did the first round of x-ray and diagnosis. They recommended us go to our regular vet for follow-up x-ray the next day (when we mentioned it was Capitol Hill they were very happy to hear that's where we take our ferrets).

We called Capitol hill and they squeezed us in asap the that day. They kept us updated on EVERYTHING and gave us all our options and were very thorough and transparent. Dr. Chow was amazing through everything and so was the rest of the staff. Turns out our little Nero ate part of a ball which needed surgery and it went fantastic. Gave us quite the scare. We even got the part of the ball back, haha!
During his recovery they checked in with us often and made things very convenient for us by email!

Extremely thankful this clinic exists, I couldn't have asked for a better clinic. Thank you Capitol Hill!

Stuff are nice and helpful. The parking lots front of building are full most of time. Just park in the undergound parking, there are 3 spots for the animal hospital

Absolutely amazing. Maya was the vet that helped out my cockatiel Ralph when he was having some troubles staying perched. She was patient and thorough and gave me a number of options about how to proceed as well as accomodations for what I thought would be best for my elderly boy. They took him in on short notice as an emergency drop off, so I was expecting to wait a few hours to hear back from them but they called to discuss his status within 15 minutes of drop off. The team was wonderful and very helpful. Thanks guys, Ralph was so happy to come home

Doctor Ryan Wong is the best veterinarian! He treated my puppy (she had warms and an ear infection) and he also gave her, the second dose of the vaccines. When he gave her the vaccine, she didn't even notice, she didn’t cry or move, which was a big relieve for me I was so worried she would feel pain. He is very loving and caring towards animals.

All the staff were very nice and friendly, I was really happy about how my baby was treated.

Wonderful care. Guinea pigs vet was hard to find, but they have a vet who treats and cares about guinea pigs.

They have taken excellent care of our 6 cats over the past 10 years. Recently our most senior cat of 18 years had dental surgery. Dr. Chow and staff were very conscientious and kind with him and he is recovering well.

Dr Chow was very patient, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with my bunnies! She took the time to review everything thoroughly on the phone with me.

Dr. Chow and team are so friendly and knowledgeable! My husband and I took our two budgies here a few years ago and Dr. Chow handled them no problem, with care and a gentle touch. Because of the excellent care and communication we received, we decided to bring our new puppy here as well and we are receiving the exact same level of care. No animal is too big or too small! We brought our little Hedgehog in because he was pooping less and less. After being told at Burrard Animal Hospital that "if he was a cat or dog, I could perform surgery, but in this case the survival chances are low. Did you know that his stomach is so tiny? ", we brought him to Dr. Chow and her wonderfully skilled and caring team.

Dr. Chow performed explorative surgery, found a severely irritated pancreas, and gave us painkillers, anti-inflammatories, and gut health powder to feed.

The next day, Henry the Hedgehog was already back in good spirits, and seven days later he's fully healed (and angry that he can't run on his wheel yet).

Dr. Chow is a competent, warm, and highly skilled vet, including exotics. Go here.

The staff was very communicative with me when working with my rabbit for a bladder issue. My rabbit was kept calm and comfortable. They made sure I was well informed and took time to explain their procedures and ensure I had the right tools and knowledge to continue his care.

I took my mouse in because he was itchy and had scabs. Turns out he has mites. He will be getting treated via injections. The people here are very knowledgeable and caring, and the prices are great.

Hard to say how good they are since they won't let you go in with your pet. They did give us a good report though and fit us in on fairly short notice.

Great little place and super friendly and kind staff. Vet can also help with small animals like birds, rats and hedgehogs! So great if you have a different pet and having issues finding a vet for them.

I 100% trust Capitol Hill Animal Hospital with my bunnies. The team is gentle, they know their animals, and best of all they know how to care for rabbits (and other small pets and "exotics") ? The team has been there for my bunnies whether it be a check up, an ailment or tragedy. This place has a special place in my heart.

They are friendly, responsive, and reliable. Our cats have been seen by them for 3 years, and they always give us clear recommendations if any (and at one point, they even found an issue the other clinic didn’t). We also went through terminal care of my cat recently, and they were supportive and prompt on an emergency. I am glad working with them.

Dr. Chow is a loving and caring vet who puts the needs of your pet first! She will not recommend unnecessary services like some dishonest vets. You can trust that you pet is under the best care here. The vet nurses are also very caring and compassionate.

Capitol Hill Animal Hospital and all it's staff are outstanding. They are kind, professional, experienced experts that provide excellent care.

Our first visit was for our baby ferret. She was injured and Dr Cindy Chow was excellent with her. The initial exam was thorough and the good Dr provided us with solid information. She takes time to understand and explain the situation and the best course of remedy that works best for the individual situation.

Our ferret had a broken shoulder and under Dr Cindy's care our girl made a full recovery.

Since that time we have our ferrets, cat & German Shepherd all see Dr Cindy and her team for their care.

We live in an area with 5 veterinary hospitals within a 15 minutes drive. We travel almost a half hour to bring our fur babies to Capitol Hill because of the excellent care our family receives.

Our pupper loves his vet. Always jumps out of the car excited. I've always been satisfied with the level of health care as well, don't feel negected or uncared for at all.

I just went to Dr Chow to examine my ferret Diana today, she detailedly discussed with me and recommended the treatment my ferret needed and did the implant right away. I can feel that she genuinely care about your pet. Staffs are also friendly too. Definitely recommended!

I visited Capitol Hill with my 7 year old cat for a check-up. Dr. Maclean was very thorough and took plenty of time to explain my cat's health and answer any questions I had. The options and costs were fully explained to me without any pressure before I made any commitments. I always felt they only had the best interests of my pet in mind, while being sensitive to the fact that not everyone can afford huge vet bills.

She recommended a dental care surgery and I decided to go for it. It wasn't cheap but it was comparable to what other vets charge for similar procedures. They give you a low-end and high-end estimate. My girl ended up being on the high-end, but they called to notify me during the surgery so there were no surprises. I also saw Dr. Chow for a follow-up visit so I can recommend her as well. The vet assistants were wonderful, everyone treated my cat with love and care. I trust them 100% and while I was nervous to have my cat go through surgery, I knew she was in good hands. They went above and beyond to help me in post-surgery care, and two weeks later, she's doing great. I'm really happy with the care we received here, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.

I’ve been taking my pets to this place for about 2-3 years. I rather to drive all the way from North Vancouver to Burnaby to see Dr. Chow but, I would never ever going to visit any other animal hospitals near by. Dr. Chow is amazing. She is very friendly, caring, knowledgeable, loving and organized. The staff are friendly and supportive.

I adopted my dog nearly 8 years ago. I found a vet close to home and used them for 3-4 years. They told me that my poor girl had bad plaque and needed to do a deep clean. They quoted me nearly $2000. I spoke to my co worker who recommended Dr. Chow and her team. I made a visit and was told to try TD (hard biscuit like) and come back. She assured me that it would do the trick and wouldn't need a "deep clean". That visit was approximately 4 years ago and I'm glad I made the visit. Dr. Chow and her team are passionate about animals. They care about their health and well being. They care about their owners. Most importantly they are honest. I highly recommend Dr. Chow to anyone. Make the trip even if it's not close to home. You won't regret it.
