Great shop, and amazing service. They accommodated me on short notice and fixed my broken window with a quick turnaround time. Will definitely be going back for future maintenance!

We went in for a brake replacement. After picking up my car and on my way home, the left rear wheel felt off during driving. Luckily vehicle speed was not too fast and we were not hurt. We had to find a tow car during middle of night in winter. We also were left without a vehicle and had to pay out-of-pocket for a rental car with no compensation or response from CarBoy.
I'm not sure if many of the reviews here are fake or not, but my experience with CarBoy is worst to none other.

Professional, honest, hard working and friendly staff. They are flexible too. I was able to drop my car off in the evening and pick it up the next day at a convenient time.

Referred by a friend. Very professional and patient. A few years ago I brought my BMW 335i for servicing and they did a great job servicing it.
Recently bought a new car and asked them to check it out and they were great and helped ease my concerns.
Everyone around there shop was also welcoming and smiled. What impressed me was that while I was waiting outside, the mechanics and staff that moved the customer vehicles were mindful and handled the cars with care.

Very pleased with my wheel alignment on my bmw done by Tak the owner, very knowledgeable highly recommended.

The whole team at Car Boy were great to deal with. They completed a pre-vehicle inspection on our new van, service and a few other jobs in a quick timeframe. Good communication, thorough and friendly! We also loved Ozzie! Would recommend and go back to them again if we had any issues.

Update: We have continued to have our vehicles serviced with the Car Boys and have been continuously impressed with their level of service, their commitment to customers, their attention to detail and, most importantly, their honesty and trustworthiness. They continue to impress me with the ways they go above and beyond what is expected. Highly recommended!

Original: These guys worked hard to resolve a tricky electrical problem and managed to track it down for us and fix it. Later on when we wanted to check for a coolant leak, they checked it for us for free and said they'd only charge if there was more work that needed to be done. These guys are honest, reasonable, helpful and easy to deal with. We'll be back - thank you!

During my day off, I sought assistance for my car, and fortunately, this garage in Richmond was the only one capable of providing prompt service. They quickly identified and resolved the issue, freeing up my time for other pursuits. Their communication was transparent, and they demonstrated great respect for their clients. Additionally, their facilities appeared to be well-equipped, and I was pleasantly surprised to find ample parking available. In sum, I was impressed with their honesty and highly recommend them, rating them 10/10.

Staff is friendly, work gets done close to the timeframe in which they say it’ll take.

I had an urgent car issue that needed to be fixed immediately. When I called Car boy auto they were able to see me on really short notice when other repair shops weren't. Called 3 people to fix our broken car. The first 2 made the problem worse. Tak finally saved the day. He drove out to our car late on a Sunday night and had it working again when no one else could fix it. Unbelievable service!

What a let down. Very poor communication skills and regard for your time.

First, I booked an appointment. A few minutes later, I received a confirmation text from them confirming the time, saying if I had any questions to contact them. However, the confirmation text was confirming for an hour earlier to the time that what we had just agreed to on the phone. Naturally I called them and left a voicemail. I got no response from them. I called them the next morning (day of my appointment), no response. Ended up showing up to my appointment 40 minutes early, explaining the discrepancy again. Only in person did they confirm my appointment was for 2pm, not 1pm.

They said they would call me when the car was ready. I don't live close to Carboy, so I figured I could occupy myself for an hour or two at the malls. I didn't hear anything from them for over 3 hours. Since I figured they probably wouldn't answer my phone call, I stopped by to check in on the status of my vehicle. They apologized for the delay and told me that it was because one of their hoists was not working. They also said that it should not be much longer and that my vehicle was next. I waited until 6pm (their supposed closing time), no phone call.

I had no idea if they were just going to work over time or keep my car until the next morning. At this point, after about 5 hours of wasting my time, I was just tired and wanted my vehicle to go home. Nothing had been done on my vehicle. I got the keys. The lady there asked if I wanted to make an appointment for the next day. I felt really stupid to say yes, but I did anyways. I've changed my mind, and will not be going there today, or ever again. Would call them to let them know, but they probably wouldn't answer, or care anyways.

Tak is a top notch Mechanic. I’ve come here a few times over the last couple years and never been disappointed. He took in my lifted pathfinder with really big tires. Aligning a car like this can be a headache and very annoying. Every shop had issues with the alignment and the last shop really screwed up the tires. Tak made the car drive straight, did the correct suspension adjustments, and I don’t have to worry about the tires or any other suspension components being worn out. Really happy with alignment and these guys really know their stuff.

Extremely welcoming and kind staff. Very knowledgeable mechanics who are car enthusiasts as well not just regular mechanics. Very good at what they do 10/10 would recommend and bring my car back.

Great customer service! Darwin did a great job with the maintenance and the owner and the staffs were all very kind and professional. But the best part is that they also have a small fur friend to keep you company!

Subaru charged me an arm and a leg to tell me they don't know the problem. After getting referred to Tak at carboy, he was able to get it resolved for a reasonable price.

Went there to fix a nail punch in my tire. Guys there are very friendly. They done the repair fast and in a very professional manner. They are also honest about the charges and fees. Everything was straightforward. Got my tire fixed perfectly. Certainly will come again if I ever have any problem with my car in future.

Great service and friendly staff but $242 for a basic oil change is just crazy. I do appreciate that they took my car last minute.

This will be a long detailed review highlighting the good and the bad.

I recently imported a JDM car from Japan to Vancouver.as I would be driving it back to Calgary (12hrs) I wanted to have all the fluids flushed before leaving the west coast. I chose Car Boy Auto Repair.before arriving in Vancouver I booked the appointment at Car Boy Auto for 1pm on a Friday.unfortunately i wasn't able to deliver the car to them until about 6pm.at this point i did understand that the vehicle would not be done in the 1st agreed timing, and that I would most likely be receiving the vehicle the next day. Car Boy Auto was very kind in fitting me in after being hours late.

Saturday Morning Tak from Car Boy Auto called me telling me the tires are shot and that he wouldn't be able to get new tires in until Monday.the tires were worn because of an alignment adjustment done by the previous owner. Tak and I agreed that he would source and replace the tires for me.this would be done Monday. I was also informed that after draining the coolant they observed no particles in it, so they decided not to change/flush it.to save me money.

Saturday afternoon i pick up my car and an employee shows me where the tires are worn and gives me back my car.at this point i had a major issue.the alignment was now way off. When i dropped off the car the alignment was straight but now the wheel was basically at 45 degrees to drive straight.

Monday Morning at 8am i drop off the car.as i was told so they could mount and balance the new tires and do the alignment.at this point Tak had become very disrespectful and short with me. I was under the impression that the tires were already there and they would just mount and balance.upon arrival I asked for a timeframe. I was not provided one Tak had said the tires haven't arrived yet and they would be there eventually. On multiple occasions i informed Tak and his staff that i would be leaving at 12 noon. It didn't seem like they cared as somehow the tires didn't arrive until 10 am and the car wasn't done until 12 noon. At this point i was beyond frustrated and upset. At this point they had the opportunity to provide exemplary customer service but instead they argued with me and pushed the fact that i didn't come through on my promise to bring the car at 1pm on friday.essentially blaming me for the delay in timing.as a business customer satisfaction should be of the utmost importance. Unfortunately it seemed like once my car was in the shop knowing they'd receive payment they didn't care about me.at the end of the day the services themselves were fine except having my alignment off. The customer service however was horrible.as a business i have no complaints but Tak the owner i presume as the face of the business has sub par customer skills. I WOULD NOT reccomend this shop to anyone.p. S taking the coolant flush off my invoice only saved me 30$ I highly doubt they are charging that much for a coolant flush.also worth noting they did give me the friends and family discount.nonetheless they charged me over $1200. I was not impressed.

They just installed new tires on my 1990 Westfalia camper van. James and Abdi were super friendly, kind and generous and took the time to explain the process. Abdi even pulled out his phone and showed me pictures of a 9 year old Abdi in front of his parents Westy! Wow! What an amazing guy!

BTW Lansdowne Mall and Richmond Centre Mall are both only about a 5-8 minute walk away. Go for coffee or lunch and they will call when your car is ready. No pressure!

It was my first experience with Car Boy but it will not be my last! I will definitely be going back. And they do much much more than instal tires. Check out their website. They do just about everything!

They squeezed me in with such short notice and took care of my broken diffuser. Then found a nail in my rear tire and patched that as well and only charged me for the tire patch.
Very professional and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely come back for my other maintenances.

Check engine light came on after repairs from a different shop, stopped in without an appt on a Sunday, yes these guys are open on sundays, which is great. They got the car in and did a diagnostic in no time, very impressed with this crew. Thanks again for the great help today, cheers

Took the car in to the jeep dealership after an off-roading incident. Dealership couldn't figure out what was causing the alignment and castor to be seriously off, and wanted to start replacing all sorts of parts $$$$.

Decided to take the car out of the dealership and to Car Boy. Best decision I've ever made. Within 24 hours the team had figured out how to resolve the issue without replacing any parts.

Beyond lucky to have come across Car Boy, incredibly honest and professional. Will be bringing my cars here for all works from now on.

The service received was beyond and above. The repair was done same day even with an unexpected issue that came up during the brake change. Very knowledgeable, but was able to explain what they were doing to my car in a way that I could understand. Abdi also lent me a phone charger while waiting for the repair to finish.

I left Burnaby almost 10 years ago and since then have struggled finding a good shop, let alone a reliable mechanic. For the past few years I've just let car dealerships handle my vehicles maintenance but it was always just missing that personal feel. A good friend of mine introduced me to Tak at carboy auto and I'm glad he did! Excellent service and just what I've been missing since leaving Burnaby. Car Boy has the most professional and skilled mechanics! I stopped in to get a light bulb replaced and the manager did a brief diagnostic of other items that needed to be addressed. I wouldn’t have known what to do otherwise. Great guys at Car Boy!

This is the second time I’ve needed to bring my car to Carbon for repairs and in addition to prompt and reliable repairs they provided, I love how thoughtful and friendly their customer service is.

Tak has been amazing, responsive and knowledgeable. I ran over a snow-covered pothole and did some damage to my wheel alignment and tires. Towed it to Car Boy Auto Repair over the weekend and they gave an honest assessment of what needed to be done and fixed it in an afternoon. Tak and the team are all super nice and very thorough with their work. Highly recommend!

Tak and his team go above and beyond to make sure that you're cared for and understand exactly what's going on. I had a fairly big job of swapping an engine, and their team ensured everything worked as it should and fixed any issues I had afterwards.

I have known Tak for a couple of years now and he and his crew helped me with an electrical issue and also manufactured a component for my 427 Cobra that I designed.
I wrongly assumed that because the cars that I saw in his shop were European or Japanese that his company would not be interested in an American muscle car; totally wrong on my part.
My usual company that I had dealt with for the past 10 years failed me with their attitude.
I found another shop with great reviews online.
Beware of the internet.
Long story short, this new company advised me that I needed a main seal repair and gave me a quotation accordingly.
I decided to ask Tak for an opinion because he expressed an interest in servicing my car earlier.
He gave me a quotation and the following day after I told him to proceed, he phoned me to explain that the main seal was fine; it was the oil pan that was leaking (something the new company had already "repaired").
This was a significant saving.
While he repaired the oil pan, I asked if he would be interested in dealing with a brake issue that was botched by two other shops.
This turned out to be a dynamic problem which took several weeks to correct due to product delivery and the complexity of the problem.
Brakes are simple; right? Wrong!
I now have the brake power that I had when the car was new.
Tak was more than fair with his pricing considering he basically stored my car for 6 weeks.
Since we moved out of the lower mainland in the meantime, I asked if my son could pick up the car.
Knowing that my son had never driven this car (it is not for the faint of heart or the inexperienced), he had one of his staff take my son for a quick drive to ensure he had the minimum knowledge to get home safely.
How conscientious is that? !
I cannot express the depth of gratitude to solve a long standing problem
and the honesty and integrity of his business.
I believe you are lucky to have found these people if you find them.

Exceptional service. We needed to get an alternator replaced and Tak was able to order it immediately and get the car fixed within about 3 or so hours from us calling. He was incredibly friendly and service oriented, even helping us out with a Boxing Day discount as he knew the bill was going to be high because of the expend car part. He even called after they were closed to make sure everything went well as we did not get to speak to him in person. Would recommend coming here for sure. Thank you again!

I couldn't be happier - my suv died while driving and they were open on Sunday and were able to diagnose the problem (the alternator) and get it repaired the next day - they even did a check of the whole engine. Very friendly staff Tak (?) was so easy going, helpful and willing to take a look even though he was really busy. They definitely love cars and they have the best prices and are honest and very helpful. They have a new customer for life now.

It was my first time at this shop and I had a great experience. I got all 4 brake pads and rotors replaced here for my Infiniti. I called them and they were able to send me a detailed quote immediately. It was significantly cheaper than the other shops I called. They charged me exactly what I was quoted for and there was no up-selling. Honest, quality, and timely work. I'll definitely be back in the future.

My car broke down at 430 just as their shop was about to close and they let me come in. Rushed to get me a part and did the repair with in 2 hours. Explain what they did and why. Super nice and professional staff. My car started to make some noise when it breaks, I stopped by this shop. They did a quick inspection and found that the caliper bolt was not tight. They fixed it real quick and didn’t charge me. Will definitely come back for future oil changes and inspections.

This place is sketchy. After getting my VIN number I never heard from them. I ask for a quote online but never get any. Definitely will not trust this company.
