Their Halloween walk was Spooktacular!

This was a brilliant theatrical event with Live actors in costume and character. The barn dance was great fun.
It was freezing cold so they had lovely fire pits to gather around. There were a couple food trucks with the BEST chicken and waffles IN THE WORLD.

The only downside was the huge, slow moving lines for hot pear toddies. The guy in front of me got the last one! And it was painfully cold and a long wait.

But I really appreciate the effort this group went to to give all of us a great Halloween night fright. We all had a wonderful time!

Great atmosphere, amazing acting. I love that we could arrive early & picnic on the grounds before the show!

Every time we visit Caravan, it's a revelatory experience. The plays are quirky and amazing. The location is beautiful.

We saw the Christmas show this year and it was not fun. We attended last year and it was fabulous. There’s nothing against the acting, the staff, the horses, drivers and caretakers. That was all great. This year the message made the entire audience feel like garbage for being white. Everyone left with their heads down and faces were somber. I’ve heard this message in the media on repeat for the last 2 years, it’s overdone and it certainly didn’t make me feel like we as people have come together. It wasn’t believable and extremely far from inspiring. If a strange gal came into someone’s house, talking about how she’s a guy’s perfect match but he doesn’t know yet because they’ve never met (she was sent to a reality where she was never born and all the people she knew had no memory of her), calling the police would be the most logical plan. The white guy didn’t due to an implied racial fear of telling on someone who is black. It wasn’t believable. The police arrived anyway from the angry patrons she visited earlier which made zero sense as she wasn’t causing any issues earlier. The police arrive and it’s awkward, the police woman was white and she was weirdly angry. In the end, the old white guy bought her masterpiece and “fixed” all the racial division. As the audience left the third scene on horses, one of the horse drivers tried starting a Christmas carol. No one sang along, everyone was drab and sad. I will definitely not be booking next year’s show unless I can see a preview. We spent 483$ on family tickets this year hoping to have a good time and we all left feeling sick. It wasn’t worth the drive, the anticipation, the event. We got an email afterwards to donate and gosh, we’d love to promote arts but this year was a turn off. I’d never ask for my money back as I can see everyone worked hard. Another person wrote a review about this show and I agree that multicultural messages, people and history are welcome messages but this wasn’t believable and I noticed no one felt good about being there.

Beautiful setting, loved the horses and the idea of visiting stages in the woods. The story itself was disappointing this year and uninspiring for a family event. We were anticipating a show capturing the magic and wonder of the winter season. We had difficulty hearing and seeing the stages and left the event feeling deflated.

The Staff, Actors and Horses are all amazing but I was severely disappointed with the heavy political message of the play. It was not at all what we expected and I sure hope that people look up what show they are seeing before spending the money. Ruined an otherwise enjoyable event.

Attended for the first time this year, and had a wonderful experience. This year's play was an excellent modernization of It's a Wonderful Life. It told a story of how each person makes a difference in their community, and how diversity can make all of our lives better. There seem to be some commenters who were offended by this message and are taking it as a personal attack on white people, but to me it seemed like a very positive play that led with the message that if we open our hearts to each other and get to know different types of people that all of our lives can be enriched. The horses and setting were magical.

Absolute trash with black “entertainers” pushing white guilt on an all white audience! The entire performance was anti white propaganda, a politically charged narrative and not Christmas themed at all! This garbage was not worth a penny to sit through I wish I read the negative reviews before going they’re always right, what a disappointment

Unbelievably creative production, with horses taking you around to multiple different outdoor sets to give you an engaging story. Be advised that the show this year is significantly influenced by critical race theory, which might be your thing or it might not be. I didn't let ideology affect my review today.

What an absolute shame that political narratives are now being crammed down our throat for the Christmas season. Very sad as this was a family tradition that will now be a thing of the past.

The current play is about low self esteem, BLM, mentions Police Brutality and was a waste of money. The one star is for the horses.

It was a awesome experience sitting in a horse sled and watching a theatre outside witch excellent player an well trained horses! Really well done.

The horses were lovely, the workers were lovely but the play was dreadful. It's not the time or the place to have a message of BLM and oppression shoved down your throat. It was just depressing. Please have a multicultural cast. Multiculturalism is beautiful! Even make a quick mention about oppression.but the ENTIRE PLAY was about a black woman struggling with white people. Christmas is meant to be light hearted and happy. I just don't understand why everything these days has to have a political or cultural message. I don't disagree with the message but it wasn't a nice, happy, Christmas experience. I left feeling like garbage because I felt I was being schooled and scolded on how we've oppressed other cultures.
It just wasn't an appropriate time or place for that type of message in my opinion.

Amazing atmosphere for a Christmas event. Nothing says Christmas like a sleigh ride in the snow with a modernized version of it’s a wonderful life. Beautifully acted!

Wild and wonderful experience - I've been to half a dozen shows - great music, great acting, amazing sets and costumes - and a unique environment that the troupe innovates around for what are consistently great and occasionally spectacular productions.

You can't go wrong with the caravan theatre. And the Halloween walk was no exception. Very well done. Definitely recommend.

I really wanted to love this but I was honestly disappointed with the whole experience. The description of WOT grossly exaggerated what the experience was, and tickets were frankly overpriced for what we got. The processional through the woods with "over 60 community performers, fire spinning, stilt walking wizardry (.) of kelowna's circus ensemble" had one person on stilts that you walk past as he growled at you. The majority of the "performers" were just people sitting in the bush in costume waiting to jump out at you, there was very little structure or story. The fire spinning was impressive, as was the drumming band but the fire spinners weren't even a part of the walk and unfortunately these weren't enough to live up to the hype of the entire experience. This was much more of an adult costume/Halloween party than a theatrical experience.
One of the food trucks advertised wasn't there and the "consession" setup was confusing, it was far more of a bar than a concession. There was no signage to direct people and there were no employees available to answer questions/give direction. In addition, seating was extremely limited so there wasn't a great place to enjoy any of the food truck fare.
The biggest disappointment was that the experience was far more of a party than a theatre performance. I can't speak for any of the other shows which might actually be "shows", but this was definitely not. A change in the "show's" description would be a great benefit, especially for first time visitors who only have this description as a reference to the experience.
I don't want to bash the work that was put into the experience, but the advertisement was not accurate. If a halloween gathering is what you want then WOT would have been great, but if you expect a theatre performance then you should look elsewhere.
After reading so many great reviews, I'd give another show a chance; hopefully the next one actually lives up to its description.
