I had a 6oz New York steak and ginger ale. The servers are friendly and the food comes out quickly. The steak was good and not too salty. I went on a Korean package tour to Banff, but I went alone and had dinner without a meal plan. Almost all of them were white, but maybe it's because it's rural, so they all feel naive.

The food here is pretty good! Complementary cheese bread and butter. I really enjoyed my pasta with meat sauce, bacon, and cheese. The tofu “steak” is literally just grilled tofu. The service is excellent!

Thanks to Andrew, our very nice server. We had Steaks, perfect and we loved the baked mashed potatoe with the champignons. The Caribou Grill has an authentic Ambiente. We would come back whenever we where here again. Good value, good price.

We went here because of the good reviews and we were not disappointed at all. We had really attentive, kind and natural service. The kitchen was solid - in Germany one would probably say home-style - and very good.

Great food and wonderful service. We had the NY steak and the peppercorn steak - both were lovely. Also had the apple crisp with ice cream. The servers were friendly and professional- all of them were helping each other out. Lot of space with several tables.

Great place to stop for dinner. Very diverse menu bit the care and attention to detail was given with all their meals. Highly recommend this place.

Making my first ever review just for this place! Our hotel recommended the Caribou Grill for dinner on our one evening in Valemount. It was the August long weekend and it was a 45 minute wait, but I’m so glad we stuck it out and waited! (We walked a block to a brewery and enjoyed a local beer on a patio in the sun while we waited so it flew by). The hostess was busy but organized and friendly. Service was fairly quick even though it was busy and the food was delicious. The kids menu was super cheap for the portion size and quality, and the adults menu was priced reasonably for a delicious meal! We only come through the area once a year, but I look forward to our next visit.

We returned after being here 15 years ago. Decor hasn't changed. I had the 6oz prime rib. Came with mushrooms and great mashed potatoes. Our server was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience. It was very busy by 5: 30. As we were leaving, waiting area was full.

We went there for dinner last night for my husband's birthday. Everything was spectacular! The food was amazing & our server, Laurie L.was attentive to all of our needs. The main menu is pretty extensive & so was the dessert menu! We would definitely go there again if we were in the area!

We ate here about 3 years ago and since we were staying in Valemount, and the BBQ place was closed we decided to go back to Caribou. The menu is similar with a few interesting additions.

We had the spinach salad, seafood chowder, Pork Tenderloin medallions and the small fettuccine with meat sauce. Desert was a banana, ice cream, chocolate brownie parfait. Including one glass of wine, total bill was 88 bucks, not counting tip. See a lot of comments about the prices being high, I don't think they are. I have often paid that for average chinese food for two and given what food prices have done this seems pretty reasonable to me. On top of that, the food was absolutely excellent, portions were more than adequate and great flavour.

Other good thing is there is a good selection of gluten free as well as vegan and and vegetarian.

Only small gaffes were a couple of service breaks, lid on the pepper shaker came off in my soup, checked the salt and it was loose too. Obviously forgot to tighten them when they refilled them. Took quite a while to get the replacement soup and took a long time to get a replacement pepper shaker so my partner could use it on her spinach salad. Had to ask for fresh knives and forks for the main course. Server was actually taking the appetizer utensils off the plates and trying to put them back on the table. Not a big fan of "keep the fork prince" Owner clearly needs to do some training on how to serve in what is styled to be a higher end restaurant. That said, I would still definitely go back.

Caribou Grill has good food in a magnificent mountain setting. I had prime rib with mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The meat was tender and not too fatty, but just enough to add flavour. The waitress was friendly and the service quick.

The restaurant is a large log cabin surrounded by mountains and the whistle of a train coming down the tracks added to the pioneer feel.

The prices are reasonable and I’d recommend the Caribou Grill to anyone passing through Valemount BC.

Very polite, friendly service and yet restaurant was full with queue waiting to be seated. Our meals were better than expected for a grill anywhere, let alone in this rather remote location. Very enjoyable overall and good value.

We dined there a few nights ago and it was wonderful. The food was excellent but just as important for a nice night was the lovely staff and great service. Truly worth visiting.thank you all so much!

We are staying in the area and decided to have dinner out. This restaurant was a fantastic choice! First off, they accommodated our group of eight without batting an eye. Secondly, my husband has a dairy allergy and just asked to have something removed from his order as it would probably be cooked in butter, and his order came with it having been cooked in oil instead! So grateful for thoughtful servers and cooks willing to switch it up to accommodate an allergy, without us asking. The food was delicious, and obviously the service was outstanding! I highly recommend stoping in for a meal!

Beautiful restaurant. Excellent atmosphere. The salmon was delicious, as was the whole meal. Friendly, sweet, and helpful server. They even had Keir Royale! We were surprised to find such a high scale restaurant in this small town. Very happily surprised!

Good food. Service was very good. We enjoyed the prime rib. So it is basically a steak place with pasta dishes, chicken dishes, veg dishes and fish dishes. Its worth a visit if you're close by.

The food, prime rib, was fantastic, the staff were incredible & the restaurant was clean and tidy. Can’t ask for anything better. My husband was sad cause I finished my whole meal it was sooooo good!

Excellent in every way. Atmosphere, service and food were all superb. Plentiful portions that were well presented and tasted great. Comparable to any upper tier restaurant in a major city, this place is a gem.

We had the pleasure of enjoying our 40th anniversary dinner at the Caribou Grill. The prime rib was done to perfection and the accompanying mushrooms and onions were heavenly! There were many celiac options and the penne lentil pasta demonstrated the care and culinary expertise that this restaurant puts into their food. This beautiful log cabin restaurant featured artwork by Tête Jaune artist Chris Sumka as well as other tasteful decor. Service was great. Thanks guys! It was memorable.

Decor, ambiance, and staff were fantastic! The food was really good and I would give a better review except that the price was well above anything comparable to this food. They were the only restaurant open in this town which I commend them for since the entire town is overfull and understaffed, but the prices reflect an opportunity to be high just because they can.

Cold bread, underfried calamari, unseasoned steak, string object? In my mushrooms. The place charges $50 a person and delivers worse food than Smitty's, avoid at all cost.

Great service from the moment I walked in, to the moment I walked out. My waitress was very busy, but always extremely friendly and made sure to check on me and the rest of her customers to make sure that you were always taken care of.
The building is a very nice log type with nice decor.
I was immediately greeted with the aroma of garlic and herbs as I walked in.
Now the food. Absolutely amazing. They start with a garlic cheese bread. The meal came nice a swiftly. I got the 8oz Prime Rib Roast, with mashed potatoes, mushrooms and sautéed onions. It was cooked med well, exactly how I like it.
I highly recommend this steak house!

I have no complaints. We were out here from Alberta for 1 night on a business trip. I had the prime rib and my partner had the New York strip. Everything was flavourful and decent portions. I asked for medium prime rib and ended up with well done but it was tender and flavourful so I ate with no complaints. We then had dessert, wow huge potions of cheesecake that were very delicious! The staff was very efficient and friendly, prices reflected the quality and portions. I would definitely come back when in the area!

We loved this place!

The decor is classic and timeless, rustic western theme cabin feel. Very well maintained and cared for. You could not replace this style again, so a certain level of appreciation must be had for how its been maintained over the years. Bathrooms were clean and spacious.

The service was above and beyond. Our waitress was attentive, caring for children and understanding to a severe allergy to insure we were safe. We had a larger group (family of 7) and received perfect service during a dinner rush.

The food was awesome, it's more a traditional home cooked meal at grandma's rather than a resturant and I mean that in a good way! My wife doesn't like mushrooms so they swapped out for steamed broccoli with a cheese sauce (which was delicious!).
Also they bring fresh baked cheese bread before your meal and it was perfect!

Special mentions/takeaways
1. Homemade horseradish sauce, it doesn't come with the prime rib but I happened to ask for it and it's a must have! Maybe best I've ever had.
2. Go for the full size pasta, its delish and worth the bigger fee, would also heat up well later for left overs!
3. They don't advertise that they have ginger ale on menu but they do:)
4. Try to save room for dessert, we didn't but saw a neighboring table did and regretted not ordering the cheesecake!
5. The kids mac and cheese is actually box mac and cheese (kids loved it) but don't order if you want something more.

Thank you staff, chefs and management for making what was to be a simple night stay in valemount as we drive home an experience to remember!

Horrible service. Got seated right away and they ignored us for a long time, watched 3 groups who came in 15 min after us get served The Waitress was rude and we walked out. First and last time.thanks for nothing!

Great place for a delicious dinner. A nice ambient atmosphere and love the log house style restaurant. The steak was delicious and the cook was on point. We ordered a chicken Fettuccini but received a carbonara instead. Waitresses who took our order just memorized it and never wrote anything down. May be writing down items could eliminate mistakes in the orders in the future.

Beautiful lodge style dining room and great food. After 10 days on Murtle Lake in in August of 2020, this was the perfect place to eat a civilized meal after cleaning up. No complaints about any of the food. In fact, it was excellent. Will eat here again.

We had dinner Sat nite here for the first time since my husband has been up there, we had the NY Steak & Prawn Special, I just can't say enough on how this tasted, it was absolutely delicious, we were still talking about it Monday nite. Highly, Highly recommend this resturaunt, the hospitality was very inviting as well, Nice Place.

We were travelling back to Edmonton and stayed in Valmont, we choose Caribou Grill for dinner.
Wonderful restaurant and I was thoroughly pleased that we picked this place, a bit pricey but worth it, everything was fresh and tasty.

I have been here a couple of times as a local. The food is above average and the price lines up well with the quality. The decor is cute and very fitting for the town. Overall good experience and I would reccommend this place to anyone

If you are in the area and are hungry, take the time to visit the Caribou Grill for a delicious meal. During this visit I had the Rib Eye and everything was delicious. Steak was so tender and the baked potatoe came with all the fixings. Staff were very friendly and quick with the service. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved it we had a really good server. Sorry I forgot his name. The food was absolutely fantastic. The wine tasted great and of course we had dessert which was super delicious. Definitely going back don't we go through next time

Husband has raved about this place when he travels thru on his bike and was dying for me to try it. It was fabulous. Great choices for me as I don't eat red meat/fish/pork/seafood. Excellent service and the Apple Crisp was better than mine!

The Caribou Grill is a great place for an amazing meal in valemount, the staff is really nice and have a great knowledge of what they are serving. I have to say that customer service is top notch. They always find solutions if there are any issues with the orders. They go above and beyond the food is incredible and i would recommend this to anybody passing through Valemount.

Serve was great. Chicken was dry and so was the New York steak my husband had. Over all good experience.

Destination restaurant.
We ordered the venison (Elk) medium rare with the local beer; ThreeRanges IPA and their Amber Ale. The evening was perfect and the meal delicious. The caribou grill is beautiful and well managed, thank you Patricia.

Had dinner here tonight. Very nice atmosphere with spread out tables. I ordered the Cesar salad with salmon. Unfortunately the salmon was extremely salty. They quickly look after that and even brought some extra salad. The second salmon with creamy tarragon sauce was great. The service definately deserved five stars. Will visit again when I get back to this beautiful town.

Went for dinner as was recommended as best restaurant in the area. Food was tasty, although vegetarian pasta was pretty tasteless. The service was great.

A diamond in the rough! Not too many good options in valemount but this is one of them! Great service and the food was delicious and affordable!

Jumbo Prawns were Awesome.we were unfortunately left at the bar while waiting for a window seat and forgotten about.not even asked if we wanted a drink until 30 minutes later I had to ask when we would get some service.

This lovely restaurant has excellent service and food. A bit pricier than a Boston Pizza, but well worth it. Food came out in good time. Side veggies were fresh and well seasoned. Bread to start is delish. We has brie chicken and it was excellent.
