Appalled by this business for upselling and taking advantage of people. My Gran wen here last fall for an oil change. These creeps upsold her over $900 on things that literally made no sense on her invoice - after showing my husband what they charged her for. You should be ashamed of yourselves taking advantage of the vulnerable. Shops like this give autoshops a bad rap.

These guys are great! My go to place! Quick, friendly and so informative with details of what they're doing and what to expect and then some! Highly recommend their service!

The Castrol Lube Oil Express location REDUSED to accept my Groupon yesterday stating their computer system was down.

When I asked Roy hiw long their Compter system has been down and the business was no longer accepting Groupons Roy replied: "For Months now".

When I asked if the business was intending to repair its Computer System so it would accept Groupons, Roy replied he was not aware as to when or even if the Owner would be repairing its Computer system to accept Groupons since Groupon takes and retains 50% of the price paid by the purchaser of the Groupon.

This is VERY POOR Customer Service on so many levels; one of which this business is forcing je to try to obtain a refund of my Groupon purchase.

I have been patronizing Castrol Lube Oil Barnet location for 16 years now. I will be switching to a different Epress Oil Cjange Service Provider in Port Moody, the Mobile 1 Lube Express Port location.

Great service, quick and helpful! I’ve been coming here for a couple years and have always been treated very well, the techs recommend extra services but are never pushy or rude. I highly recommend for keeping your vehicle running safely and smoothly!

Took my vehicle there to get an oil change on Tuesday. Vehicle has 180,000km.

Drove it about 25km after the oil change to where the engine has now seized and will cost $13k to fix.

I would recommend going anywhere else in the lower mainland. Unless you fancy a seized engine.

Was told $25 total with groupon over the phone but when I arrived and asked the price with groupon $43. Just wish vender would be honest about prices. Bait and switch is so disappointing

Those guys in the staff are so nice, I'm a business owner and service provider, I'm Not sure if that's the average price for the service but it was fast and effective.

They changed 3 fluids in around 20 min.

I showed up at opening hours, they were prompt, clean, kind and accommodating. The poured me a coffee the way I wanted, fixed and cleaned everything!

If I could give ZERO, I would.
This place is absolute worse. I go there then at the entrance I ask one of the staff how much does transmission oil change cost? And they tell me $150. I go in then another one comes and without any apology says oh it costs $180! I tell them you just said $150, then this guy tells me in a way as if I owe him something "You can take it to Ford and see how much it costs".
Well I already had asked Ford and they said around $200.
I let the guy know of that, then he tells his colleague to call the boss and tell the boss "The customer got a quote for $200 from Ford which is a BS anyway. ". I cut him off right away as he tells me in my face that I am lying to him!
Then I refused their service and left

Absolutely amazing service and staff! Johhny and his team are awesome providing great oil changes and most recently helping us with a belt that had some issues. They went way above and beyond, and we were most impressed how they go the extra mile to help out, especially as it was close to closing and we were in a stressful situation of a much needed repair for the rust bucket car. As they look to expand their services, this includes providing diagnostics for check engine lights. We definitely recommend visiting this location, and appreciate the supportive staff!

Was a decent experience. Oil change was normally priced.
I'd give it a 5 star, but the guy left an oily glove print on the hood of my white car.
Other than that, he kept a decent conversation while he worked, and was knowledgeable enough about the particular oil needed for my vehicle.

Always helpful, efficient, and kind. They’re always willing to answer my questions and explain what each service is and whether something is required or optional which I appreciate.

They pull the codes for my check engine light for me for free and gave me some advice on what they could be - thanks guys!

Had the pleasure of bringing my car here for an oil change. I tend to stay away from the in and out lube shops due to the upselling but this place was amazing. The owner helped with the change and you can definately tell he takes pride in his business and is very personable and professional. He was very honest in what I needed, what I didn't need and what could wait. I highly recommend this location and will be coming here in the future

Went in for a groupon oil change. I was told I needed the power steering, brake, fuel system, transmission, front/back differential fluid, and air filter changed, quoted me $612. Basically every single fluid minus the coolant needed to be flushed. They made it sound like my car was gonna break down at any moment and tried to use high sale pressure sales tactics to rush me into purchasing. I told him I'll get a quote and potentially come back wanting a second opinion. I went to my real mechanic and he told me I only needed to change the air filter and maybe the differential because it was close to the mileage. I guess that's what you get for using groupon.

Did an synthetic oil change for a pretty good price. Guys there are friendly and I didn’t feel pressured to get extra services. Of course they are going to recommend doing additional services with your car but if you decline they just say “ok no problem”

Went in today for an oil change. Not sure of the quality but we’ll see in the coming days. Customer service was personable. But of course there will be upsells because that’s how these places make their money. Usually it’s an assortment of fluid top ups or a flush, but they said I needed a timing belt replacement. As a former mechanic apprentice I know for a fact there’s no way to check that without taking apart the engine on my make and model. Other than that I heard the wet tech (guy under the car) say I had a minor valve gasket leak, which is true I do, but the dry tech said I have major leaks and also documented it on the report which is false. It’s a sweat leak not a pouring out of my engine leak. Lastly I went in there with a mobile bandit app coupon for 20 off and was charged 40 dollars full price. Sadly won’t be returning, even tho the dry tech was “on my side” to the untrained eye.

Get a second opinion always when dealing with express lube businesses!

Castrol Lube Express Coquitlam charged $45 for an oil change without an appointment and didn't make the information asymmetry seem too bad. I paid $49 including tax in total, still less than most places.wouldn't recommend mr lube, they charge $65, ok tire at least $45 and didnt have time until next week) the guy was friendly although the $5 special filter charge is annoying,

Oil change service was fast. The guy named Stephen was very friendly and helpful. Not sure about the service quality since I dont know much about cars but everything seemed to be pleasant and efficient.

Surprised by the low star review. Always come here. They go above and beyond. They only try and up sale me when I actually have something that needs to be fixed. I have ignored their recommendations in the past and took my car to my own mechanic to confirm what they were advising was sound. I trust these guys.

Told my 90 year old grandpa he needed transmission fluid flush. He showed him his transmission fluid was black. When we got home we checked the fluid and it was clean. These people are nothing but low life scammers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Surprise about all the negative reviews. I understand that it's frustrating to come in and be up-sold for more, but it's the only way these guys make money, as there oil changes are typically the cheapest around.
With that said, I've never been bugged after I told them, "no, not today".

Bought a Groupon and they refused to honour it. The advice they gave was to cancel the Groupon and pay them 4 times what I paid. They told me my business wasn’t needed, but clearly it is as the shop is empty and they have awful reviews.

Be Warned, this guys run a scam, bought a car and took to them to check the oil levels and see if service is needed.they lied about transmission and brake fluid, they said it smells although it is not dirty as i saw the oil myself, anyways got me to pay $550 for oil change and brake and transmission oil.called the previous owner about the services done.he said he had those services done at wetwood honda and has the receipts, and history can be obtained there as well, both brake fluid and transmission fluid were done 4 month prior.i went back and complained about why they lied about the oils needing change and they said well u agreed to it and because you can never be too sure.this is a scam they running there, dont go there if you dont like to be scammed and if you like your hard earned money!

Got a basic oil change here a few weeks ago. Didnt get anyone telling me i needed anything else. No upselling.
I guess it depends on the guy you get?
3 stars cause it was good service but a bit expensive.
