Stay away from this place. The owner is rude and has mental problem. I don’t understand why she can still run the business. Absolutely evil don’t bring your cat here.

OMG she is insane.so rude and I think she has mental issue.those ones who left 5 star reviews are her friends and relatives.

I am so glad that I got to take my cat in and let Karen to take care of my baby as he was not doing good. He was acting really lethargic and was vomiting. I was so worry, but after a few days of being taken care by Karen now it's like nothing happened.and I love how they work with only cats as my cat gets really stress with dogs and it makes me fill that i can trust my cats health as they are really knowledgeable because they work with cats all the time. I will keep bringing my baby with them and really recommend everyone else to have Karen as their family vet.

Extremely rude dr yelling at the top of her lungs you can’t park there I said fine and moved my car in front of Dairy Queen. She continued to yell at me saying I can’t park there. I said I’m not in front of your place and went in to Dairy Queen. She then gets out a ticket and says I’m parked in her stall. I wasn’t. If this is the way she treats her potential clients that is poor service. I will not bring my animal there ever in a million years. She is just pure evil. STAY AWAY!

All she thinking is $$$. My cat was with them 12 yrs ago due to blood in urine. Cat was kept in for 1 night for urine sampling, also took x-Ray. Paid a lot $$$, but they couldn't even figure out what the problem was, so we switched to another clinic and my cat was treated well.

Since then this place has been on my blacklist. However, today I had to call to ask about in home euthanasia for the cat who is now 15 yr old because my vet doesn't have license to provide this kind of service on site.

Instead of answering my inquiry she wanted my cat to be brought in for treatment (indeed $$$), when I refused and continued to ask about euthanasia, she jumped gun and made the comment that my cat wasn't under a good care with the assumption that the cat had never been to a vet before to be put down by the owner. She then made the comment "If you are planning to have another pet, take a good care of her by taking her to vet. "

What I didn't want to say to her over the phone was: 1. My cat doesn't need treatment from you because you suck! 2. My vet isn't like you who only concern about $$, and has told us there was no point to give treatment to the cat. You have my name, number, cat's name, search your records and see what kind of "good care" you have provided to the cat 12 years ago.

At the end, she finally said they could not offer service on-site due to COVID19. And I finally realized that all she was trying to do was to steal this business from other vet when she lost the privilege to offer service on-site. Money money money!

Your sales skill sucks just like your vet skills!

Staff is very kind but the owner has been quite rude on a few occasions, to the point that I would not bring my pets here even though the location is very convenient. So close in fact that from my home I just witnessed the owner kick a bag of garbage into the street instead of putting it in the dumpster. It wasn't her garbage, but I'd hate to bring my pets to someone that thoughtless and lazy. Don't worry, I'll go pick up the garbage for you.

Dr. Karen is highly professional. Polite and caring staff. Pro active. Love bringing my cat to this place for his physical coz I know he's in good hands.

We took Cairo to multiple other Richmond vets who told us he was too old to help us – he was 11. He has lived another happy, healthy year and counting since we met Dr. Karen.

He would have died within weeks, even days if we didn't bring him into Cat Care. If you're looking for a vet, Dr. Karen is truly the best doctor around – I can't recommend her enough. She saved our Cairo's life!

Dr. Karen is the best.so knowledgeable and caring.we adopted our cat as a kitten 19 years ago. Because if Karen's great care he has made it to a type old age.we moved from Richmond to Cloverdale and still go to cat care.would not go anywhere else!

Our experience with Dr. Karen is very good so far. At first we were just like all the other people worried about some of the bad reviews here but they were the only vet that can see my sick old cat immediately when we called them as it was an emergency so we went there anyways as our cat was really not well.

There are of coz a lot of tests and X-ray and ultrasound that our cat need to do and it does cost money but we don’t care, just like human beings we need to do whatever tests that is needed in order to find out what exactly is going on with our body and plan the right treatments and medicine to cure the illness. As long as we are able to find out what is going on with our love one and treat her I don’t mind spending all I have and not giving up on her that easily.

Dr Karen was every experienced and knowledgeable and were explaining to us in a very detail way to help us understanding what might be happening with our cat. Our cat ended up staying in the hospital. She and the the staffs there are very responsible that they call us every day sometimes twice a day to update us our cat’s situation and how she’s doing and the test results etc. When we visit our cat 2 days after she looks a lot better than before we took her in. She was more energetic after the caring and treatment that Dr Karen gave her.

Dr Karen explained to us different options that we can choose in order to treat her. Our cat is still in the hospital but we are already more than happy to see her being able to walk around and have more energy.

We are so far happy with the experience that we have there and hopefully our lovely cat and come home soon!

Had my cat assessed for breathing problems.
Karen misdiagnosed her illness for a physical injury and labeled it "very peculiar" injury.
Followed up with having to get xrays witch found nothing. Very costly xrays I should add but at the time I felt obligated. Sent home with antibiotics that did not permanently change the symptoms. After inquiring with other veterinarians their diagnosis is shes suffering from acute feline asthma. Now I spend my exponential income and cannot afford to take my cat to another veterinarian for two weeks. If I can get an appointment. The suffering at the hands of an uneducated or unprofessional. I called and asked if Karen will revise her earlier diagnoses because evidently it was incorrect and I was told by the (friendly) staff that Karen expects me to pay for the incorrect prognoses and accept that at its face value and if I was to ask for anything corrected from the earlier malpractice then she expects me to pay again. I may be forced to because of the demand in veterinary care I cant get an appointment for two weeks anyway. There is no standards of quality in this business.

Dr Karen is very dedicated and invested time and research into accessing our cats illness and finding the right treatment.
We went to other vets before who were not able to help us.

Called for a quote for my cats rabies shot. They took my info and said they’d call me back shortly, they never did.
I’m kind of glad they didn’t, because of some of Karen’s low reviews

I'm new to Vancouver and it was my first time there. They took great care of my cats. It is now officially my two cats vet and pet care center^^*!

The Staff here are amazing. The Vet is also very knowledgeable. She takes an over-all look at a cat so as to not jump to assumptions or miss anything. I can stop by for help with syringe feeding, help learning how to use an IV at home, and was given free feeding syringes when I needed them. They've always been available, and always supportive and helpful. They know cats, and were able to identify issues other vets missed.

I've read some of these posts and they are just angry people who just didn't like the bad news, or wanted things to be magically better.

I've spent less here for treatments/tests than other vets, and Gotten better results, Cats are living animals not objects that can be fixed like an appliance. Most often it takes time, and effort. This vet understands that and coaches that approach.

Two sister cats born at Catcare clinic lived to be 18 and 19 1/2 years under Karen and staff's care. Costly but worth having them that long.

We had our cat's annual examination with Karen prior to boarding her at the clinic also during this holiday visit. Boarding is $20/day and the annual exam cost us about $130. We've been with the Doctor Karen now for 1 year. A simple online search states she is registered with the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia.

The doctor did a fine job of explaining to us a few things pertaining to vaccines for indoor vs outdoor cats and vaccines for cats in older vs newer apartment buildings shared with Dogs. Also she cared to offer meal plan suggestions for our kitty's teeth against plaque build-up and suggestions to try and get our cat down to a more optimal weight for disease prevention. She offered us complimentary monthly weigh in's to ensure ongoing weight monitoring is continued.

Like last visit she initiated exercise toy options for us and low cost do it yourself alternatives (ie, how to make a cat scratching wall out of plywood and carpet and where to more frugally find the supplies from which to do it rather than paying full price for a ready made one). She's super practical and I like how she volunteers to try and save us money on all of the Cat gimmick merchandise out there that we can otherwise make ourselves.
