CC's Chinese Restaurant

CC's is absolutely wonderful. As someone who can't have gluten, CC's is a god-send. The staff are all so lovely and the food is incredible. It's so good I brave the awful traffic going from downtown Vancouver over to North Van!

I am a new resident, and this restaurant was recommended to me by family and friends. However, I called ahead to ask if the Chicken Fried rice was made with white meat breast of chicken.
I was assured it was, however when I picked it up and brought it home it was full of grizzly, fat dark meat chicken. I had to throw it out, then I also ordered spring rolls which were under cooked and disgustingly wet and gooey.
Even the fortune cookie was stale and disgusting, I had to spit it out.
Disgraceful that they think they can make edible food.

Only order Takeout. There is a new qr code to order and pay everything before you receive the food. You the customer have to do everything now. It was not easy to get it to work. Food comes out in paper containers, not on real plates. You get Paper Plates and Plastic Utensils to eat with. They still ask for a tip too. I would have had a better experience going to the mall food court. This used to be my favorite Chinese food place in nvan for 20 years. I will not be eating here again unfortunately. The photos in the other recent reviews show this new situation.

Do not go to this place for ambience, because they don't have the budget to maintain the place nor hire professional servers. What they do have is the best tofu dish (3 cups tofu) in the city. Do takeout, but if you choose to dine in, overlook the rundown surrounding, & you will experience the tofu dish in all its glory. Best eaten with plain rice.

We were asked to order online via QR code that took us to their website - not just to view the menu- but you are supposed to order there, choose what you want and proceed to check out (included payment, you pay with your card). I mean what is this? Why would I come to a restaurant to do this? I could have stayed at home and order take out.
Server didn’t talk to you at all.

The whole restaurant smells like old moldy carpet & dust!

Food came in literally 5 minutes, how did you even cook it this fast?
No plates, food came in paper boxes.

There was plastic cutlery, plastic plates on table. What is this? !

Dust everywhere, everything dirty.

How is this a restaurant? I don’t understand… this was probably the worst experience “dining” I ever had.

We are not even in the midst of pandemic, this is pure laziness.

This was my favourite Chinese restaurant growing up. Nothing has compared since. Come to the island please!

Absolutely fantastic service and meal! Some of the best dishes I’ve had ever! The lemon chicken was to die for.

Love the beautiful old ballroom dining rooms with big windows. Such a unique feel. Food was good, no complaints!

My go-to Chinese restaurant. Won't ever hesitate about coming here. Great food, quiet surroundings and impeccable service.

We happened to come across this place during a hike around Capilano. It was very quiet on a Wednesday afternoon. The service was good and very fast. We had the won ton soup and pork chow mein. The food was good and ample quantities. Good value for money.

I am not too sure about the food here. I ordered the chicken lo mein and it was just chicken pieces in saucy noodles - lots of it. The flavor is ok. I also treated myself to the fried bananas with sweetened condensed milk l, but they forgot to add the condensed milk. The prices are not bad, the service is good, but the food is ok.

Great selection of traditional and western Chinese dishes. My favorites are the ginger beef and fish filets in tomato sauce. Friendly service and ample portions.

Absolutely delightful restaurant. Great food with friendly and engaging staff that treated customers like family. Really enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend.

Was once (and probably still is) best Chinese food on the North Shore. However doesn't quite have the same consistency as it once did. Found the Sweet and Sour Pork mushy last time. For the first time in 20 years found myself disappointed. Hopefully just a bad day.

It smells funny in the place, but the service was 10/10 and the food was also very good with generous portions

Not gluten free. I ordered and asked for gluten free and explained that we have celiac disease, they assured us that it's gluten safe Nema test shows there's gluten found. (Crossed contaminated).

Great flavours, large menu, and generous servings with many Celiac-friendly options! This was a great find and I will definitely be back.

Quite disappointing. I can't believe I'm saying this about Chinese food, but every dish was completely underseasoned and lacking in flavour. The chow fun was white in colour and anemic looking. Completely flavorless food. Period.

I was so happy to find a Chinese food place that makes gluten free dishes. It did not disappoint! After many years it was fabulous to finally eat those dishes I love like almond chicken, chop suey, ginger beef and fried rice.

I recently moved in the neighborhood, and thought I'll give this restaurant a try.
The food was dry like plastic (I think it was left over from few day back).
There are so many good Chinese food places in Vancouver, I don't know how this restaurant is surviving!?
Will never go back or order, I do not recommend this place to no one.

Gluten free Chinese takeout is a rare treat for celiacs! Fried rice is great, several other dishes were good as well, but a couple were also a wee bit bland. Almost everything on the menu can be done GF.

So happy CC's Chinese restaurant (previously known as Canyon Heights Chinese restaurant) is open again. It is definately worth the trek up Capilano Road for a feast of Western friendly chinese food. An iconic restaurant in a beautiful liocation!

This is the best Chinese restaurant. I love the house special fried rice, sweet sour pork. They have very good customer service. Very nice workers. Always smiling.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, seems like not much has changed. Very nostalgic and hits the spot for Chinese food off that era. Sweet n sour pork, lemon chicken and hot n’ sour soup are staples.

Tried a new dish this most recent visit - Rock Cod with Tomato Sauce, which turned out to be tomatoes with the red sweet n’ sour sauce. It was good but I was hoping for actual tomato sauce as some other restaurants have.

Great place to come with a large group or family as the extensive menu will have something for everyone.

This place I have been coming to since I can remember and it never fails to disappoint cannot go wrong with lemon chicken fried rice and sweet and sour pork this is my go-to if it was my last meal to ever eat

It tastes good, not greasy. Friendly services. Reasonable prices for a tourist place. Friendly designed building. Washrooms are clean. Nice music

The food is so delicious and always hot and fresh and the service is very fast, pleasant and polite.
My daughter has celiac and the chef was able to accommodate so wonderfully! She was thrilled to have lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork again. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

I am so excited to come back for lunch with my friends/familyOrdered lemon chicken, this that chow mein, spicy green bean, 1/2 Peking duck and a few more dishes. No Reno’s don”t care. Same Chef and crew! So happy to see them. The food is fantastic been coming since I was 5 and I’m 57. We came Sat and had the whole place to ourselves! They don’t have the old cocktail list anymore which is missed. The food was so so delish!

Our first time here - did not expect too much since this is not an area where authentic Chinese food is in general. BUT, I was very pleasant surprised how tasty the dishes are - lemon chicken was crispy with a perfect mixture of sweet and lemony flavor; Shanghai fried noodle was al dente, (hated when it's too soggy) ; mapo toufu had the right spiciness and flavor. All dishes get a solid A+.
Happy to find this little jewel. We'll be back again!

This restaurant used to be a great place to go for dinner or for take out. We have been customers for many years. However, things have changed. The last two times we have ordered take out were very disappointing. The last order was for Wonton Soup, Ginger Beef, Boneless Pork with Honey Garlic Sauce, Prawns and Broccoli, and Shanghai Style Noodles. It was aweful. We did not eat very much of it and took the remaining food back. Ginger beef and bonelss pork orders were mushy and flavourless - looked like it was frozen and reheated.

When we returned the oders, the staff did not appear to be concerned about what we were saying. They did not offer a refund or even say they were sorry for the poor quality.

After visitinig this location for decades, sadly, we have decided to not return or order take out from here again. Very sad.

Overcooked, underspiced, and almost inedible.
I’ll save my Chinese food ordering for when I’m in vancouver. I recommend broadway Chinese.

Today my family went to Grouse Mountain and went to this restaurant. The food was very salty and the sea food fish was not fresh. Bad eating experience at this restaurant. Before we went there checked the review 4 out 5, but we were very disappointed for the rates.

Disappointed. Spent a lot of money to feed my family and when we picked up our order, the portions were so small compared to other Chinese food restaurants. Spent more, and received less. We were left hungry and not satisfied. Would not order from here again.

Always speedy, consistent, great prices and incredibly friendly staff. The food is exactly what you expect from a nicely perched Asian restaurant in upper north Vancouver. We miss sitting inside, it is such a family friendly place.

I've always loved the food here! They are very fast when prepping for takeout and when you dine in, they are attentive, and quick to serve if they are not too busy. My family have gone to them for years and will continue to do so for many more!

Our family has been coming to this restaurant since the dad opened it. We always enjoyed the atmosphere, it definitely helped that it’s walking distance away. We were happy when it reopened for takeout as the food is standard Canadian Chinese food but a lot closer for us.

The service, though, leaves something to be desired.

The final straw was today with the person working the front counter being entirely dismissive and rude to me.

There are plenty of restaurants that serve food that’s equal to or better than here, so that’s where I’ll be giving my business to. I’d rather drive and spend money on gas than walk 5 minutes to this place.
