For the price that it costs, it is such a waste of money. Read the 1 star reviews from past years and it sums it up. Quantity over quality is their motto, you get some teachers that just read off the powerpoints with no actual knowledge and perspective on what they are teaching us. For a private college, the support can really be absent, and as a student, you donnot feel like you matter. The graphic design program is so lousy and there is so much that you won't learn in class. The only thing that is really worth anything from the program is the friends that you can meet.

In dealing with Tifany Scifo I had the one of the most agreeable and positive interactions I've experienced in many years. My issue, as it turned out, had little or nothing to do with her or the Centre for Arts and Technology, but it was extremely important to me. Tifany didn't explain to me that it wasn't her job, or refer me to someone else, but instead launched immediately into guiding me through step by step. This was a matter she could have easily passed off - and most would have - but she was patient and even proactive in assisting me. If this is any indication of the caliber of staff and level of assistance one might expect in a more CAT-related matter then 5 stars is simply not adequate - so she gets 6 from me. Thanks Tifany.

As someone who is autistic and queer, I travelled all the way from Saskatchewan - by myself - to attend this school and it was one of the best experiences in my life! The level of support that student services here provide is absolutely immaculate and fast (counselling, life skills, conflict resolution, career stuff, finances, everything!), the professors are incredibly kind hearted and passionate, and the people you meet here will be lifelong connections! If you like to jump on opportunity, this is truly a gold mine for anyone who is willing to put in the work. They see you as a person, not a number, and they will teach you the vital real life lessons that no other school will teach.

This school jumpstarted my photography career! When I applied to go to school at CATO I only knew how to shoot on auto mode on my camera. The first few months were very intense as I tried to grapple around the techniques of manual camera basics. My instructors did not give up on me and only pushed me harder to succeed because they knew I could! I graduated in 2020 at the top of my class because I was always able to ask my instructors for help in understanding the material, and they were always happy to help! Everything I learned at CATO- and of course the access to a state of the art studio, technology and knowledgeable industry professionals- most definitely helped me muster the courage to make my passion into the successful business it is today!

Unless mommy and daddy are funding you i dont recommend this school. The ignorant schedule that changes quite drastically every three months makes working enough to support kelowna living prices impossible. Youre better off learning on youtube. Id say most of your tuition goes to paying for the location. The teachers are alright but they are all more involved in their other jobs and mark your work closer to the end of term. Higley recommend any other school if youre trying to put yourself though without support

I completed the Digital Filmmaking course in 2017 which took my filmmaking skills and business knowledge to another level. The lead instructor Victor Poirier is not only a highly skilled industry professional with a wealth of experience, he is also a gifted instructor who is passionate about his craft. His drive for excellence is what made the experience challenging and entertaining at the same time.

Even after graduation, Victor has continued to support me in any way he can. I started my own creative agency in 2020 and have been primarily hiring graduates from the school recommended by Victor.

If you are looking to get into professional filmmaking, this school has it all. Just know that you will have to put in the time and effort to get the most out of the experience. Nothing good comes easy!

This school is not equipped to educate those with known learning disabilities. My child came to this school with her IEP from high school were she was tested in her 12 grade year and has recommendations from the specialist for colleges to help make her successful and they refused to follow any of it. Just took her 17000 and said nothing when she started to fail, couldn't even offer her extra help. So she fails gets so frustrated she quits and they have the nerve to send her a bill for the remaining tuitions. She should have gone to the public college at least there she would have had the recommended help and costed half the money. Thanks for ripping my kid off at least my son wont go there now

Centre for Arts and Technology was an incredible experience that I will remember for a lifetime that both provided me with the environment to develop and learn my strengths associated with film making while giving me the skillset I needed to be successful and progress within the industry.

Since graduating I have worked on numerous sets that have come through, opened up my own production company called Standstill Productions and will continue to head the many learnings taught by this incredible college.

The Centre for Arts and Technology provides the ideal environment for creatives to grow their abilities to their fullest potential. You're taught by industry professionals who can share their experience and give you the tools necessary to succeed in your field. Here, you can receive direct and personal feedback to improve your skills.

My experience at the school has been nothing but perfect. The equipment provided gave me the ability to create beautiful films while also learning how to use industry standard equipment. I have had the joy of writing both a narrative and documentary film for my final projects with the creative freedom to make what meant most to me. This is what you can expect, an environment built especially for creative individuals looking to start their career doing something they love.

Going to CATO has been the best experience I've had with any school ever. If you are trying to get into the film industry I highly recommend going to CATO. I recently graduated from the film program and the school has given plenty of opportunities to get jobs and experience on set even after I left the school. The people I've met through the program along with all the instructors have been fantastic.

The Centre for Arts and Technology is exactly what I needed in a filmmaking program: it covers every stage of production including writing, casting, lighting, cinematography, editing and more. The smaller class sizes allow for more personalized instruction and hands-on experience with the equipment. It's a great environment, friendly and welcoming, and the teachers are invested in everyone's achievements. The Department Head Victor helped me get a job at Enderby Entertainment right out of school. The work I do now is such a natural progression from CAT, a good balance between what I already know about the industry and what I still have to learn.

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, the digital filmmaking program was very informative and one of the best experiences of my life so far. Many of my peers and I were able to work on film sets straight out of school!

If you're looking for the next step in your life that will lead you to many new opportunities, learning curves and a great family of friends, this may be the school for you. Decided to take the 18 Month- Filmmaking course one random day, and It without a doubt, was the best decision I've made. You learn a variety of things and with the smaller classes, it becomes easy to grow with what you want to pursue, while still learning in the other areas you may be curious in. I got lucky to be a part of an amazing group of people and learn from a well experienced selection of professors who make you feel important and inspired through-out the time you spend. Even after graduation, they helped me get a job on a film set that has already hired me for other films! Overall, I would 100% recommend this schools film course and say to go in with as much passion and drive as you can, as it goes by quick and you'll most likely graduate, wanting to do it all over again. At least I do.best experience and best people. 2022 Grad!

I had the opportunity to attend the Centre for Arts and Technology’s 18 month digital film making program. This was honestly one of the most brilliant experiences I’ve had in education. Hands on learning from an amazing staff that truly cares about each one of their students. We learned in depth all the steps of film making from pre-production to production to post-production and more. I’ve truly never had so much fun learning each day, and the community around creates such an amazing atmosphere. While in school you’re able to connect with people currently working in the industry, while also building an impressive portfolio with each completed project to impress those potential employers. After graduating I was lucky enough to be hired straight on to a movie set as a 2nd AC. And I wasn’t the only one. As I looked around the set there were three from my grad class working. And there will be four of us on the next movie.

All of this is credit to the amazing staff at CATO and program they’ve created. If you’re wanting to go to film school go to CATO. You won’t regret it.

I took the Photography program at The Center For Arts And Technology and I can’t say enough about it. All the teachers are so knowledgeable in their field and willing to help you succeed along the way. The program criteria covers everything from the basics and up, mastering retouching, business management, and more. Not only are you learning all the skillset it takes to become a professional photographer, you also get access to a fully equipped studio and a wide selection of all the professional tools, cameras, lights, and equipment to work with. You won’t be disappointed!

I had nothing but great experiences at CATO. All of the instructors are friendly and want nothing but the best for their students. With each instructor being a professional in their given field, I feel that I have learned each aspect of the filmmaking process in great detail. The highlight of the course for me is the blend between hands on material and theory. We always had access to the schools gear and could practice with it in and out of class. Even after graduating, the instructors have helped me find jobs in my field of choice. The Centre for Arts and Technology has given me the skills and resources I need to begin my career in my industry.
