Chancho Tortilleria

Had the pork belly torta, it was delicious. Nice and filling, wish I had more salsa and pickles to curb the fattiness and saltiness of the pork but other than that I really enjoyed it. I'll be back for that!

We really enjoyed the flavors and the way you can build your own tacos. The nacho chips and guacamole is well worth it, tons of guacamole!

We had our cold after the soccer game we went to and it was still amazing, chips crunchy.

I have loved Chancos since they opened in their Yaletown location. They excel in what they do, which is carnitas tacos. 1/4 pound is perfect for lunch and it comes with four tortilla. You have an option to choose the level of fattiness and they are all priced differently. I used to buy their tortilla by the kilogram a few years back but it got expensive because they are so fresh and I went through them so quickly. This is as good as it gets when it comes to tacos in Vancouver.

Food was alright, but i’ve tried other mexican places way better. I ordered pork belly tacos and horchata. The drink was so so, it was very watery and the tacos were good. Price is a bit high for what I was expecting. Service should improve way more since the guy attending us was not in a good mood.

I’d say they can improve more. I don’t get too much the hype.

Order at counter joint. The tortillas are fresh, and with the mix of tender belly and shoulder carnitas, everything tasted fine. It would be good if there was a complementary flavor like a pickled radish or onion. There is a variety of salsa offered but they're stingy with it and they are not very flavorful either.

I wouldn't come here to try tacos if you are looking for something extraordinary. It's definitely a solid lunch option.

As a Mexican I can tell you this place is authentic and the food is great. For Vancouver is 5/5, for Mexico maybe 4/5

Some of the best tacos in the city due to the fact that the tortillas are fresh and amazing. Carnitas are really well done and the condiments are similar to a Korean banchan

The new location is great, more lively and has good vibes, the food is good as well as the drinks, the tortillas are as in Mexico, soft and corny which is the base for a good taco.

Need to make tortillas that can stay together to eat a full taco. 1 bite and tortilla was all destroyed

Awesome food. Great taste excellent quality. Unfortunately kind of expensive with small portion sizes but that's normal for uptown Vancouver.

Hands down the best tacos in town (and some of the best food- period). The pork is perfect, the tortilla is perfect, and the accoutrement are out of this world. Chancho is a gem in Vancouver. Thank you team Chancho!

Tried the campechano (mix) tacos.

Perfectly seasoned. Nice and crispy crackling. Pork belly is rendered nicely.

Can taste the full corn flavor from the taco wrap.

My friends and I were uncomfortable as there were 5 of us sitting at one of their picnic tables, I asked if I could get a chair for myself and they didn't have one. Nonetheless, the food was good, but there wasn´t much customer service.

Simple but perfect, great food, great drinks, well priced.

If you like pork tacos, this place is it. They make everything there, including the tortillas. Not many quick restos in Vancouver with quality food like this.

Best tacos in town, the 1/4 pound is an excellent size for lunch and the atmosphere reminds me of many of the places I are growing up, welcoming but not flashy.

My favourite place to get carnitas tacos. They serve fresh tortillas and a great variety of salsas. The amounts served are great value for the price. Guac is delicious too and national mexican beers! Highly recommended

Food was good. But I found it too little for the price. We ordered 1/2 pound of squash tacos and 1/4 point of potatoes tacos. I did not weight the food, but felt like little.

Fantastic. Love the canteen style setup and of course the food. You order and pay up first, then find your seat and get ready for a feast. Orders came fast - real fast. On labour day weekend, our 2x 1/4 tacos came in 5 min after we sat. Bother the squash and pork shoulders were fantastic. Shoulders were lean but flavourful and juicy. Squash was charred and had nice balance of sweet and savoury.
Watch out for one of the “red salsa” - I broke out a sweat and I can take heat. Which red one you asked? (you will be given three sauces, two red, one green). Well…you will know.
For two of us, we ordered 2x 1/4lb of tacos plus bean soup. We were more than stuffed. So, gauge carefully.
Will return. Love it.

The tortillas I had with my meal were super tasty. Tortillas aren’t something I notice often but now I’ll pay attention and always make comparisons to Chancho. I was also digging the tunes.

Really cute place with authentic Mexican food. We tried the pork belly, shoulder and mixed tacos. 1/4 pound. The best one in my opinion was the pork belly. Really juicy. The sauces were very tasty too. The only downside is the portions are fairly small for the price. The homemade horchata was really nice, we also tried the agua de Jamaica, it's not my personal taste but it wasn't bad.

A bit pricey, but great carnitas! My husband loves the pancita and i am a big fan of maciza tacos, 1/2 lb per person and you can take a taco left over, the 1/4 might not be enough for 1 person. Great tortillas too!

Had the squash veggie option. This place is fantastic. They're sauces are hot and absolutely delicious. I would eat here again!

We visited this restaurant today for lunch not knowing what to expect and oh boy were we just delighted, we ordered a pound of mixed carnitas which came with three kinds of salsa about 18 freshly made tortillas cilantro onions beans pickled cabbage and a combination of pickled onions and fresh jalapeños, it was just as auténtico as it gets, it reminds me so much of my home country Mexico that I’ll defenetly will come back over and over.

There isn't much wrong here. The food is classic and has no additives. The meat seems to be slow cooked and tender while the tortilla tastes fresh. I really like the salsa as well. I would rate it 4.5 If I could. Maybe introduce some more options.

We were keen on Mexican and this was the first place that popped up in our search. We decided on a whim to go there without doing any research and we were not disappointed. Super charming place with amazing taco options! Would highly recommend!

Got the campechano torta and it was delicious. The bread was soft and fresh and the pork mix inside was tender and tasty.

For as little as 15$, I got 4 tacos for it and it was plenty filling for me. The meat was great and in sufficient portion. Each of the condiments too had more than enough for 4 tacos. You get to customize your own tacos with your prefered portion of each and it was enjoyable. However, eating it was a bit messy so I wish they would have included some napkins with the take out order.

It’s expensive, and worth it! My local tortilleria sells a different type of fresh tortilla daily. If you’ve never eaten on fresh off the grill, get ready for a taste sensation. The minimum order is 12, and they are worth 50 cents each, and are a source of fibre!

By far the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the city, and the only place I know that makes their own tortillas. Most places would even spice up their frijoles to be trendy, but theirs are made exactly like my mom's. Excellent service, food, concept, and vision. I'd be crushing tortas for happy hour all the time if it weren't covid.

I used to go frequently before the lockdown. Sadly, I've been avoiding restaurants since. I do takeout but since I've been working from home, I don't go downtown much.

I went downtown recently so I stopped in at Chancho again. It was as good as I remember and the people working there are super friendly. I usually order the pork tacos with mixed types of pork. Unbelievably delicious! But it's the other stuff that comes with them that are exceptional. The tortillas and the beans are the best.

My wife is Latina and she raves about this place.

I can't wait to get back to work in person so I can eat there every week again.

The Taco's were really good.the service was kind of the worst. You pay upfront and tip upfront, than you never see your server again. So that kind of ruined it

Food is good. Shame the front of house staff are rude. I came back a second time only for take out this time around and tipped 10% on that. Male handling the POS system immediately looked at the receipt and huffed. When he gave me my order he gave me a shifty eye “thanks”. I would still recommend the food but only for take out because the service is horrible.

OMG! I Terribly regret.not coming here before. Wow. I Have NEVER had Mexican food like this before. The tortillas are OUT OF THIS WORLD and in and of themselves worth eating but the meat? Words can't describe the perfectly prepared, melt in your mouth flavourful explosion! I better take up weight lifting since I'm going to be slamming back a LOT of this protein in the near future. Great job guys. Thank you for the best meal I've had in recent memory!

1/2 lbs mixed pork for 2 people. $22+taxes+tip. The meat was really good but the wraps felt cold and not up to par. Worth going once just to see if u like it or not. It might just not be for me.

We were on the way to see IRON MAIDEN and stop at this tasty taco shop. It was awesome, the taco we ordered were crispy pork belly mixed pork shoulder, juicy and tender.the best I ever had in town for so long.

Small menu but everything on there is delicious. The tortillas and micheladas were easily the best I've had in Vancouver.

At first I wasn't impressed. There was a very long wait and the atmosphere reminds me of a public school cafeteria in the US.like the first-grade lunch room with linoleum floors and painted cinder-block walls. It was stiflingly hot in there and very loud. I felt better when the food came. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. I have dreams about that pork!

We ordered the Campeche Taco's, the lechon was delicious but the tortilla wasn't cooked. Good overall

An amazing casual atmosphere- this place is both clean, upbeat, and relaxing. The customer service is stellar, they clearly care about the experience they provide. This is the kind of food that you go home and think about non-stop until you can get it again.

Far and away the best tacos I've had in Vancouver. The pork shoulder/belly mix with the fantastic corn tortillas and assorted sides make for a fantastic lunch or dinner.

Best Tacos we had in Vancouver! Service is super friendly and helpful! Tacos and meat taste great and super fresh. 1/2lb comes with 8 Tacos and paired with their fresh made Guacamole is fantastic for 2. The price for dishes is fair, considering size and quality.

The food is delicious. It's hard to find an authentic Mexican restaurant and this is it. The tortillas were soft and the guacamole was creamy. I loved it and I will definitely be back.

I tried a few tacos joints in Vancouver and Chancho is way better in my opinion than alot of tacos restaurants. You can tell how fresh the tortillas are by the fluffiness and little elasticity it still has so it doesn't break. The meat was juicy and succulent. The condiments were perfect. A lot of places makes fusion and distorted version of classic tacos but doesn't respect the technique. Chancho is An AWESOME carnitas. They deserve 5 stars and should be listed in the top 3 best tacos in Vancouver

I ordered 250 tacos for a company event and everyone loved the tacos. They were great with communication and made it an easy process. Price was very adorable and will definitely do another large order in the future. Thank you Chanchos! It was so yummy

We came to this place for lunch.we heard about this place from many people. Well, we were not disappointed.we were warmly welcomed by the staff members and we felt very good. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Keep it up.

Fresh tortillas that weren't top thick but still kept together, even with all the delicious juicies.
Meat was tender and delicious and it definitely fulling. Horchata a bit sweet but not as sweet as most other places.
You do get your meats worth fpr the price.

The food was excellent. Service was fast. It was the best taco place in our taco hopping tour of Vancouver.

Excellent spot for picking up carnitas to take home. In my experience, 1 kg is enough for 8-10 people.
