Chan's Garden

We did take out there on Christmas Eve. It was our first time getting food from them and it was highly representative Chinese Fare. Standards like S&S Chicken Balls, Lemon Chicken, Beef with Gai Lan, Chow Mein and Egg Fried Rice were actually all really good and we still have leftovers. This will be our new “go to” Chinese food restaurant. We don’t get it often but happy to have found Chan’s Garden as a close, simple and terrific option.

Yesterday my wife and two kids were very enthusiastic about this restaurant, we ate a lot, and seemed quite good quality of food. But today we 4 are feeling nausea and with lost of appetite.
Well most likely there will not be a second time there.

Ordered Delivery never arrived today was craving Chinese food even called 2x to confirm as was taking longer then the 45min was promised been almost 2 hours now and restaurant is closed and no phone call and all other restaurants are closed and did not have dinner quite disappointed in this experience

NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY

This restaurant adds meat to dishes without declaring it on the menu. I ordered black bean tofu, a dish I have eaten at other restaurants that was usually vegetarian, and this restaurant put meat in it without even saying so on their menu.

You people need to realize that there are people in this world who are vegetarian for cultural, ethical, or religious reasons and most of those people assume tofu dish is vegetarian.

I am very unhappy I wasted a lot of money eating here just to have to throw the food in the trash because it had some kind of chicken or pork in it, I do not know but it is against my religion to eat meat, don't eat here if you are vegetarian. They slip meat into dishes without listing on the menu.

Came here with my family and we all enjoyed the food. The portion was big and service was wonderful. Only spent $100 including tips to feed my family of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) and everyone was so full after dinner. Will definitely come back!

The food is okay and the prices are so so but the service here is just horrible. There are many other Chinese restaurants in the area that I find the food was much better and the service was far better.

Reminds me of small town anywhere! Good tasting Chinese takeout. Hits all the right flavor buttons. Always order from here when I crave comfort food from my childhood.

I used to love ordering from this restaurant, especially when I felt like a good, authentic fried rice or fried noodle with nice "wok hei" flavor. However, recently, they had a BOGO promotion on Uber so I thought I'd order some and I know times are tough and there's no money to be made with this promo but with my beef chow mein, there was literally one piece of beef in it. The worst part about it was, Uber wouldn't give any type of reimbursement because they can't control the portions the restaurants give so I just had to accept it. Will not ever order from there again.

My friends and I were very happy with the taste of food! The portions are big and service was great. Definitely will come back. P. S.vegan dish was very very good

It's edible but what we got all tastes the same and was not very good. Also 20$ per person for this was defnitely not worth it.

Nice place for dinner if they don't confuse you as a delivery driver.i waited almost 7 minutes to sit down.

The food is a 3/5 but they use really nice toilet paper in the bathrooms. I think it might be three ply

Disappointed, they have gone downhill. Chicken chow mein had hard tendon pieces in it. Food was lukewarm when it arrived. No fortune cookies in order. Driver asking how much of a tip to put in the machine is ridiculous & will guarantee no tip. Will not order again

Since this place changed ownership the food quality has gone down hill and the prices have increased dramatically. We will not be ordering from Chans anymore.

The food was okay. The chili chicken was great but the chowmein was okay. Their service was not great as they took a long time to give the food even though we ordered ahead. I liked the soup but it was not out of the world.

New ownership/management don't know how to run a restaurant. 1 hour waits are acceptable in their eyes. 2nd time now.

Excellent "Western style " Chinse food. Consistently good with heaping portions and quick delivery, fantastically easy to order straight from their website.

Ordered take out from here many times. The food is solid and reasonably priced. I can tell the chef is very skilled definitely worth checking out.

Hi highly recommend Chan's garden restaurant if you guys looking for a chinese and western food and also any occasions location. They have a separate Banquet room very nice and cozy. They have a very tasty delicious affordable good food. Very good service and clean place.

I placed an order on line for two wor won ton soups for puck up. When I got them home, they were just regular won ton soups. I had to add my own ingredients to it. I don't really live that close to Chan's and couldn't really take them back. Very disappointed. I'm a semi regular customer and don't think I'll be back

Great local place for when you crave the typical takeout Chinese food: wonton mein (note: pork without prawn), chow mein, fortune cookies, with wonderful service. My 3 year old daughter had seconds of everything, and the server was so nice to her. Thank you so much!

The food here is very good. I didn't particularly like the ginger beef dish though as it doesn't taste like ginger beef. The small pieces of beef (?) were covered in batter and tastes more like sweet n sour meat which I dislike. I think they gave me honey garlic pork instead. If this was ginger beef then every restaurant has their own version of ginger beef but this one was not the traditional type.
The chow mein and beef pan fried rice noodle were really good. The squid had a spicy taste to it too which was a good touch. Overall, 4 outta 5.

We order for pick up often and the food is always fresh, hot and very tasty. I've always been impressed by the consistency and friendly service when I've been in. My only warning is that they cater to a more Western palate so people looking for more authentic Chinese food may want to go elsewhere.

Took my daughter here for dinner.the food was great and the service was good. The dishes were large and there was plenty to take home. Love Chinese food leftovers. I'll diffidently be back.

The food is always excellent and the place is always really clean with no unusual smells. We drive 20 minutes to go there because it is worth it.

Had nice family dinner there food was good and service was quick. Only thing there was spider webs on the inside of windows in the restuarant like nobody had ever looked there in years! Which was kind of gross! Lol

It’s always been the goto place to order food as I am a life long resident of New Westminster, and of Sapperton. Great serving size, but recently the prices have gone up. Forcing me to order less often or order from other establishments. It’s still a nice place to order from.

The Go To Chinese food place for us at work. We have Chan's once a week and have never been disappointed. Consistently great!

I ordered chicken chow mein yesterday and it was so delicious! The quantity was huge and there was a lot of chicken in it! It wasn't oily at all like most of the places I have tried before. I will try more dishes next time as I was in a hurry and really wanted a chowmein. Also they were ready in 10mins.

Always great food. My workplace is 10 minutes away. I can call ahead and the food will be ready by the time I get there on my way home. Thanks and keep up the great work.

Amazing Chinese food! I was craving ginger beef and this place hit the spot. Service was very fast and our server Lisa was very friendly!

This place is my all time favourite for Chinese! Exceptional service and great portions for the price, I highly recommend the dinner combos!

Great chinese food. Fast and friendly staff. A medium size order ready in 10 from the time you order. Your food is ready in the time it takes to run across the street to the cold beer and wine store.

Very good local Chinese restaurant. Very clean. The food was very good. Also has a special section for special events or private events.

It's a restaurant serving American Chinese food. Good for local folks or European people. Not good for people immigrated from Asian countries.

Big portion for sure, this is very good selling point. This is better than other restaurant nearby.

The staff are lovely! Attentive and hospitable! When reading reviews on this restaurant I noted a few people mentioning the serving sizes being large and they were definitely not wrong!

I ate maybe a bit more than half of my combination C serving and then I had to get the rest packed up to go. The food was delicious! They have awesome staff, great food, outstanding portion sizes and considering those, amazing pricing (i.m. O) I will be going back when I'm in the area =) thank you for having me! Keep up the fabulous work!

Their Combo E is the best! Enough to share for 2. And their homemade chilli oil is the bomb! Quick service. Huge portions. Great price. Never disappoints.

Really loved this. The food was all so delicious and all dishes had their integrity, by which I mean the broccoli wasn't cooked to mush as at most Chinese food places. Highly recommend.

So I saw on their website that they deliver within 5km, I checked and learned that I'm just under 4km from them so I called for delivery. After giving them my address they told me that they don't deliver to Surrey and claim that I am over 8km from them. I'll just let someone else have my business.
