One of the best Chapters/Indigos I have ever been to personally. That had an amazing in-store selection and even had some hard to find books I was looking for! Very clean and spacious as well.

I love this store. I usually find what I'm looking for and my favourite part is the gift section. I can usually find the perfect last minute gift. Prices are reasonable. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

As soon as we walked in to the store we were greeted by helpful associates that took us directly to the things we were looking for.good selection of squishmallows and i was impressed with the wedding card i ended up buying for a friend of mine

Really nice Chapters. I go there every now and pick up manga.
Lots of parking available, a great book selection, as well as other knickknacks, like candles and pillows. There is also a Starbucks attached.

Love bookstores, and this one has it all! Even local authors! And it’s nice to sit and have a cuppa in the coffee shop inside!

Expensive. Lots of items nobody needs. Gifts etc. Beware their plum reward points expire and are mostly a waste kf time.

Great selection, and super knowledgeable and helpful staff. Made my decision on which e-reader to get super easy!

I always stop in at the adjoining Starbucks for a coffee and a chance to browse the books and magazines here at Chapters.

What's not to like?
A variety of books and related items plus a bit of home decor and a coffee shop in the same space (if you go when they are both open).
There were a lot of people shopping (Saturday) and a high ratio of staff available in the store to assist as well as those taking payment so the line, if there was one, to pay went quickly.
I don't love that the courtesy computers for searching the store/online are no longer an option; they all had signs letting you know to use your phone or ask staff for assistance. Wonder if they will phase out or, is it just a temporary precaution as they would be high touch and need constant cleaning.
It didn't stop me from buying a book both times I've been in the past month. I just like the bigger screen over using my phone.

Open your main doors during open time. 9: 40 locked front doors, had to tell a employee after going in through starbucks.

At times I have to question the training staff gets. After barely making it to Chapter/Starbucks, where the Starbucks was in a training meeting I asked you have the door/gate opened to used the washrooms as it was urgent however the staff and Maddie the manager refused to be a human and told me my only option was walmart a 3 minute walk away. As the bathrooms are part of Starbucks but yet they have keys and its in their building. Sometimes some compansion and common sense is required. Need I say more.

If you enter chapters with a face shield due to respiratory medical exemptions (which does classify as acceptable to wear as its available to purchase) don't go here. Even though you can't breath in them they will push you to wear a mask even though you can't and when explaining to the manager you can't due to breathing issues he tells you to take a hike and order online.
They have lost my buisness and I'll be speaking with his superiors because this is discrimination to those disabled in these types.
Shame on you chapters manager.no compassion to those out there.

I do love huge book stores and Chapters is such a great store to wander around in and browse all the different departments. Also a good spot to pick up little gifts for someone special or yourself. I really enjoy having a Starbucks in the store for a quick break and a treat.

Went in today to make a purchase with my cloth bandana style mask with a filter which is allowed everywhere else but here. When I entered I was stopped and being pushed to wear their disposable blue mask because cloth masks aren’t allowed in their store. I put the disposable mask on and walked around the store and observed lots of customers and staff with their own cloth masks and not the disposable blue masks they pushed on me. I felt very singled out. They’ve lost my business until masks no longer have to be worn in store.

Found books from authors I enjoy reading, and managed to order several more, to complete, or nearly, series' that I'm reading

Went in today with my cloth mask which is allowed everywhere else. Was being pushed to wear their mask (disposable blue mask). I put the disposable mask on, walked around the store and saw many customers and staff wear their own cloth masks and not the blue disposable ones like they were pushing and depending about. I felt singled out. They miss out on a big order today. Won’t be back till the mask are done with.

Do not support this place. They do not honor medical exemptions. I would have been forced to not be in the store in order to receive service. Forcing people to wear a non medical mask (blue procedure mask) that has potentially harmful chemicals on it and has no benefit to reduce transition, just so the cowardly staff can have a false sense of safety. Just wait until the injection passports come into effect. They will be first in line to deny service to anyone without the shot! Good job chapter's staff! Enjoy your communist, dictator style country! You helped get us there!

I love it here. The people are polite, and they allow dogs so don’t worry about hot cars in the summer. The staff cleans the til between customers and directs you to sanitizer upon entry so I feel safe.

Helpful staff and a great selection. If they don't have what you want they can also order it within a week which is super helpful!

The staff are very helpful and welcoming! The store is laid out in a way that is very eye catching yet sophisticated, very user friendly! The staff even helped direct me to do my pre-order online (I prefer to go in to show support and hopefully keep people employeed during this hard time) and look forward to reading many books from Chapters Nanaimo!

They are always so lovely and helpful here. Everything is neat and tidy which makes it easy to find what you need and see the things you didn't know you needed

I've spent nearly thousand of dollars here, and despite having a plum rewards card, have reaped zero benefits. Last time I was there, they said I have enough rewards for 5 dollars off my purchase.um no thanks, for the money I've spent here, are you kidding? I recently purchased a knitted blanket, have never seen a blanket shed so much in my life. Not worth the money. Prices are outrageous, just look online or buy second hand.

It was the first time in over 2 years going into a book shop. The mask I was wearing was not to there standards and poor selection. The store staff told me to go to the website. I was trying to support retail.

I truly love this Chapters. For one, they set up COVID-19 precautions very well. There is staff who count customers and direct to sanitizer. Inside, I have to say, the staff has always been stellar. Informed, passionate about books and so happy to help. Recently, I ordered a book online. Didn't print off or have available the code. My bad. Instead of turning me away, the man did cartwheels to check my ID and rush to the back to get my book. I love shopping at this location. The staff deserves commendations. It is a pleasure to shop here.

Rude and terrible service in a disorganized mess of books.

Well laid out store. Book stacks mixed with gift merchandise. Good place for gift shopping. Staff members are really helpful and friendly.

Have been going here for years. Everyone here is always nice and helpful. I love to browse the book collection here and make an afternoon of it.

Chapters in Nanaimo is its own building with parking and a Starbucks. It has a good selection of books, and is situated right next to Tesla Superchargers.

Starbucks. Super good service. McKayla was awesome. Dialed in. Friendly. Professional. Fast too. Props to Maddie for handling a wrong order really well.

What can I say? Best ever! I love this store! They have so many wonderful things besides books! To top it off, you get to go right in to the Starbucks for a latte! Yummy!

I love Chapter's Books in every location. However, this Nanaimo one has a disgusting Men's washroom. The paint on the walls has been brutalized. The washroom stinks everytime I go in there. The washroom stall is broken in places. The sink never has soap. If it does, you don't want to use it. It is gross. I emailed the Manager and he wasted my time, promising to fix it. Nothing has been done. This was over two years ago at least. Maybe three. Discouraging experience for sure!

It had a friendly inviting atmosphere it was well laid out and with the computers in the store it was easy to find everything I needed

This is one of the nicer Chapters I've been to. Wide open and far more selections than I am used to as far as the chain goes. Nice and bright and great for perusing for new reads.

This is a great Chapters. It is very large, housing books from every genre imaginable and sometimes has gems you wouldn’t think they would carry. It has a large kids section as well and to top it off has a Starbucks inside. A great place to buy your books and read them to!

My first time in, could have staid longer. Wil stay longer and get more next time. Did not plan to buy but could not go without. Great place!

If you love books and such this is the store for you! Love the variety that they have. It's on the pricey side but they offer discounts with the membership card.

The staff was excellent. They where helpful and happy which made my experience today exceptional. Prices are a little high and somethings did not have a price posted on item or container holding items.

Everything about this place is top of the line in terms of book variety. If they don't have a book, they'll order it for you. Also, I got a great deal on this book.

Lovely store, but beware- in store prices can be substantially higher than price advertised on their website. The book I wanted was listed at $22 online, but when I arrived in store I was told that the in store price was $30.

Has always been a splendid place to shop. The staff is available, knowledgeable, and friendly. If you're not one for talking to employees you can always use the kiosks to hunt down a section, however I have had difficulty actually tracking down the section without a map function. Checkout is normally efficient.
