Will not recommend. Very unprofessional service. The stylist didn’t even said a word even after being late for her appointment. Very choppy haircut. Never coming back in future.

Nikkie did an amazing job with my hair! She listened to me and made sure I felt comfortable asking for my bangs to be shorter when they were dry. Lovely service

One stylist (Tuyet) is super nice while the front service told me to wait till next Monday. Fast, Quick and Great.
The front service has to do better job to help customer.

I had a haircut yesterday and it was the first appointment in morning at 10am. When I was booking my appointment with my previous stylist then they said she is not working anymore, I’ll book you with very talented and experienced stylist. I took my chance. I’m almost 10 years old customer to chatters. I trust it and when I reach there, it was her first appointment of the day. She never interacted with me, no smile, no eye contact. It was feeling so weird with whole process. Her station was so unorganized and all the hair brushes were super dirty and full of hair. I spend my $70 on my haircut and got what no excitement, like it was looking she was not expecting a south Asian client. If you are providing this type of customer service then sorry I’ll not returning to your location in future. I wish I can give 0 star. Very disappointed.

I recently got a haircut here, and I can't even say hair styling because the stylist didn't even style my hair. I went in with rather long hair asking for it to be cut up around my shoulders with soft layers. I came out with very blunt layers that were very obvious all around my head. When doing my hair my hairstylist kept dropping their implements and even stuck the brush in my hair to hold onto it while they reached for something else. I got a very choppy haircut, not the soft one like I wanted. The hairstylist simply blow dried my hair and didn't even style it, nor ask how I wanted it styled. My stylist was running late and I was only in the chair for roughly half an hour when I paid for the full hour cut and style. Would definitely not recommend.

This is a chain, so atmosphere is bog standard. Prices are reasonable, but Kyle is excellent. Knows what he is doing and listens attentively. Very kind, too.

Made an appointment for noon, and was met with some heavy traffic along the way. Called to let them know I'd be 5mins late for my hour long appointment and let them know I'd forgo styling after my trim to save time. I have very short hair and at previous appointments it's taken no longer than 15mins for my entire appointment but was told to reschedule. I'd understand being more than 10mins late but really. I've had to wait for appointments longer than 5 mins.

Excellent service - everyone is so friendly, skillful and professional. Kyle is amazing - he took the time to really listen to what I wanted (and then helped me figure it out and decide, haha). Then did highlights and a cut that I love. Couldn't be happier with the service from start to finish. Highly recommend Kyle:)

The hairdresser was in an absolute rush. Didn’t even clearly asked how would I like my hair. Just got the hair done and sent me to the till to pay. Didn’t even gave a chance to peek in the mirror and see the end result. The lady at the checkout was not so friendly too. Would not recommend.

Staff were friendly and professional. Shop was clean and organized. Saw James, he was knowledgeable and skilled working with curly hair. Prices were fair. Will be back and would recommend.

Absolutely a scam, mediocre haircuts and they take advantage of seniors charging them a fortune.

I booked a last minute appointment, they were able to get me in the next day. Had the absolute pleasure of being in Kyle’s chair. Kyle is so warm and welcoming. Kyle listened to what I wanted and was able to give me the haircut I envisioned. Kyle is clearly very knowledgeable on hair cuts/colour and you could tell he knows his craft well. I had a lovely scalp massage while getting my hair washed. Chatting with Kyle while getting my haircut made the experience so much fun and really put me at ease. I would 100% recommend Kyle and will be back for my next haircut. Thank you!

I went in with a picture of how I wanted my hair cut. The length and style. The stylist started her consultation by stating are we looking for just a trim. I wanted a style. She made me look like Dora the Explorer/ugly Betty. It was wrong. She feels no love for her trade. Very disappointed.

I was in search of a new salon after moving here from the Lower Mainland and after reading some positive reviews online, I booked with James for a reshaping and refresh. The first couple of times were not bad and I heard a lot of words from him about how he was a professional in his field. After several visits and receiving non-professional cuts or service and unprofessional behaviour, I have made the decision to not return to this salon.

I had times where my hair was cut considerably shorter on one side than the other, had to recut my own hair to make it work, had my requests for a “clean neckline” refused because that isn’t what he liked to see or do.

I feel if I am the paying client and know how my hair works, I should have some say. It should not be up to anyone else to decide. If you truly are a professional, you should be able to take what the client is asking for and set your own biases aside and make it work. If you are indeed professional.

I took my little sister in for a haircut with Chelsea and I am extremly impressed! My sister has curly hair which makes it very difficult to find a stylist who caters their cutting style uniquely to different hair patterns. But Chelsea was really good at cutting her thick curly hair. It turned out exactly like the photo we showed her beforehand. At the end of the cut she even stlyed her hair with curl cream. Chelsea is very passionate about her job and shes really skilled with curly hair!

Sally transformed my lacklustre mop of tangles into the cutest undercut/inverted Bob! She was so attentive and worked with my natural curly thick hair type to emphasize the curls and waves and make them work for me with little to no effort. Super pleasant and knowledgeable stylist, 100% recommend going for a fresh fun cut! Thank you Sally, I'll be back!

Absolutely transphobic and I wish I vould leave a zero star review.
I went in for a trim today - I have relatively short hair, buzzed down on both sides.
When I was taken up for payment, I'd asked which I was getting charged for, because I'm nonbinary and they only have "men and women" haircuts.
Because my hair is shorter, I assumed I'd be getting charged the men's, but I was charged a higher price simply because I "look more feminine"
I am indescribably hurt and shocked to be treated like this and strongly urge other trans and nb people to STAY AWAY from this salon.

I made a last minute appointment and was lucky enough to be put in Kyle’s chair! He listened well to my expectations, was personable and super knowledgeable about hair and color! He gave me exactly what I had asked for and my hair is now super soft and shiny! He recommended some great products that I’m very excited to try out! Definitely booking with him for my next cut/color!

Great style and advice. Shampoo and cutting at same location so no moving around. Especially helpful with COVID restrictions.

Great cut, nice and quick and safe. Lots of PPE and precautions in place. Roxy is awesome, super nice and does a great job. Highly recommend. 10/10 would get a cut there again.

I have had long hair my entire life and it went down to my hips. I decided it was time for a change so I made an appointment. I explained to Chelsea that this was a big deal to me and I only wanted some layering and shorten it maybe 3 or 4 inches. Within 35 minutes of her starting, my hair was chopped to just before my shoulders, and the layering is chunky and thick at the bottom. The length was way shorter than what I asked for but I made my peace with it, the problem is they the overall cut looks terrible when let down. I’ve had my hair up for the past week.

Roxy is a very good and professional hair stylist. She is a master with colors and knows what fits well with individual skin tones. My daughter and I came in for a balayage consultation and she did a phenomenal job with my daughter's hair. She is very knowledgeable and was skillful with the thick hair she was handling. We were both so happy with her results. I would definitely recommend Roxy.

The girl answering the phone was rude. I just wanted to ask if I could get a bang trim. There was none available that day, that’s fine. I was going to ask to book an appointment for a different day before she hung up on me mid-sentence.

I understand it can be busy but you don’t just hang up on people. At least offer if I wanted to schedule an appointment before you hang up?

Loved Kyle! He is an amazing hairdresser and the color king! Highly recommend kyle if you want someone who listens, and gives amazing results.

I've been really impressed with this salon! Kyle is amazing and I would highly recommend booking with him if you want to do a colour. I got foils and they look absolutely stunning and are blended perfectly. I also have curly hair that makes it difficult to cut sometimes but Kyle did a great job and didn't take off too much length. I would recommend this place hands down!

Very overpriced! I had a trim off the ends where I was in the chair for about 20 minutes and was charged $50. Won't be going there again.

I got haircut yesterday in Chatters with Mary. My hair is very long and its hard to cut and styled. She is the best hairstylist that I've ever seen. She is very nice. Good job Mary, thank you

BEWARE: Chatters does not provide accurate pricing on their website. Do not go in expecting to pay what you make an appointment for. Make sure your stylist discusses any charges with you before adding it to your bill.

Really, really happy with the colour and cut I got from Kyle at Hillside. He did exactly what I wanted and he has great attention to detail and skill. Would recommend him to anyone wanting blonde!

I have always gotten good service at chatters over 2 years going here. They have a selection of products which includes cruelty free options and they practice sustainable disposal of cut hair and dyes.

Kyla is a genius at colour and highlighting. She takes the time to ensure she creates the perfect blend so that your hair looks naturally gorgeous. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a stylist who is consistent and excellent at making you look your best. Thanks Kyla!

I have been visiting Chatters regularly for my hair products and color ONLY for KYLE. He is truly gifted and a magician. Always knows exactly what I want and has exceeded beyond my expectations. He is truly a magician.
However today i was a bit disappointed a bit with the receptionist because she charged me for hair styling and i was completely unaware of it. I wish i was informed before she charged me. I think that was unprofessional she did not even provide me a receipt.

I highly recommend james at the Hillside Mall branch. Ive been going to him for over 20 yrs. Very skilled with colour and curly hair.

Great salon to go to get hair colored, i have seen 3 stylist here and all of them were great with lots of knowledge and a great experience!

Booked a curly blow dry while I was on holidays in Victoria, Danielle was my stylist, she done a beautiful full curly blow dry & was so friendly to me, was delighted with my blow dry.

I've had two great experiences at Chatters in Hillside Mall. Roxy dyed my hair here almost two years ago (pictured is how the balayage has held up, without touch-ups, two years later!) and Kyle cut and styled my hair today (pictured!). Both times, I left very happy, and both stylists gave great advice for maintenance and styling!

This experience happened almost a year ago but it has left my hair experience here and other salons scarred. I went in with hair just passed my shoulder and I showed the stylist Sally the photos of a bob that I wanted to sit just above my shoulders. What I got was something completely different. She gave me an inverted bob that was extremely short in the back and long at the front which looked nothing at all like the photos or looked like anything we had discussed. I have never gotten upset over hair before but this was the first time where she completely ruined my hair and I could do nothing about it. It was so much shorter than anticipated that I had to wait months before I could even get it evened out. A year later my hair has finally grown out to where it should have been months ago. Not to mention when I went to a trusted family stylist he mentioned on how uneven and bad it was and it took 2 separate appointments to let my hair grow out and even it out before it was all finally even. I am usually not overly picky with these types of things as I like to trust professionals, but this experience here hurt my self confidence of my hair and has now made me extremely cautious as to who I go see and trust. I will never go back here or have my hair done by Sally ever again.
