Tried the Strawberry original cheesecake still good, but their tiramisu is below stanadard I understand it is base on cream cheese base not mascopone cheese but no coffee, chocolate or Almond flavour. The London Fog is good

Great selection of cheese cakes, not as much for drinks.
Cheese cakes tasted great and looked amazing, too.
Their drinks paired well with the cakes, but just standard.
Sometimes, the lighting is not too consistent and often quite dark.
They have live jazz sessions too and also open till late night, so great for date night!

Great spot for classic cheesecake! The cake is unique in that it doesn't have the graham crust and is just the cheese! Not overly sweet and very light and fluffy.

It's a dimly lit interior and walls decorated in jazz posters and photos. Very classic space!

Their cheesecakes are delicious! I always ask for the frozen version of their cheesecakes-they're amazing.

Usually I don't write reviews but I was very annoyed and frustrated because the guy at the front was being so difficult about vaccination card. I showed them my vaccination card (1st and 2nd shot was pzier) that was given to me when I got it done in states, it didn't come with any QR code. So they ask to see my ArriveCan, I got my vaccination 6 months ago so I usually don't keep my ArriveCan because its just usually for the custom border, there's no reason to show it because there's no info where we can see on our part, only the custom border can see it, I tried to explain it to him for 30min which was very frustrating because he didn't want or care to listen, "Ok I have to see your arrivecan", literally for 30min, he kept on saying that with a straight face. So luckily I remember that they sent it to my email so I showed it to him which Is super pointless because he tried to scan it which nothing pops up. So he finally gave up and let us in. What was the point in showing the arrive can. It doesn't tell you that your vaccinated or not. The front guy should really do more research before asking for something that was so pointless. So for all the US citizen or International, get your arrive can ready cuz your vaccination card won't work here.

Love the original cheesecake with strawberry sauce on the side and whip cream on top. Still love it after so many years!

I really like the cheesecake here! The dark lighting and candle on the table is really nice for a date or to catch up with friends. Pay parking along the street. Usually a line up.

The Cheesecake is good. Hot coco was meh. Ordered original with strawberry sauce.

The line and process to get in were a bit confusing. They should separate the line for eat in and take away. You order before seating yourself, then they bring it out to you.

Its just cheese cake.

For drinks they have water, lemon aid, hot coco, latte, and a few other things.

No "soda pop" no "soft drinks".

They required vaccine cards to get in.
Masks required while not eating.
They clean the tables between guests.

Music playing was nice jazz and calming.

Wish the pictures had plaques with the names of who the people were.

The cheesecake itself is below satisfactory, the selection was slim and the piano playing was non existent.

For $15 a cheesecake, you’re better off buying from the supermarket. They offered 3 flavours of cheesecake but none were worth it. It honestly resembled the type of cheesecake you get frozen from the grocery store and thaw out yourself. The toppings came out of a can and the strawberry is the same type you’d get at the amusement park funnel cake stand. The whip cream they serve with the cheesecake is artificial and not even real whipped cream. Once again, it’s the same quality of whip cream you get from a can.

You are also forced to order your cheesecake at the door so you don’t even get to think or look at what they are offering. Like a cafeteria, you pay and then you seat yourself. The only upgrade is that the server brings the cheesecake. But that is the extent of the service you’ll receive for the rest of your visit.

We visited Cheesecake Etc. On Saturday night around 10pm and was shocked that there was no band or piano playing. Given Saturday night is probably their busiest night of the weekend, we were quite disappointed. Any piano or live music would have make our visit less disappointing.

For the expensive below par cheesecake and the lack of live music. This establishment is a no for me.

Did I mention that their dining room furniture is very mismatched, as if they got a few chairs from this thrift store, and others from another thrift store. Literally none of the dining room furniture matches, and not in a high end haute couture type of way.

Yummy dessert. But I gave three starts because some of their coffees are way too sweet. I think they should ask about sugar level while taking the order.
The other thing I didn't like is when we had already been sitting inside and finished our cake. We decided to get one more because we really loved it. I had to get off my table and stand in the line for 25 minutes to get back to counter again to order my next piece of cake. I think once you are sitting inside you shouldn't have to wait again in line with people just getting there for take out or waiting to be seated.
Other than that stuff.cake was divine.

Cheesecake, Etc has been around forever because they make really good cheesecake! Ambiance is very intimate and the cakes are amazing. You cannot go wrong with any of the toppings either.

Lined up for about 20-30mins on a Friday night. First time here. Ordered the original cheesecake with strawberries topped off - to go. Ate it about an hour later. Cheesecake tasted light but was dense at the same time. Not too cheesy but cheesy enough. Tasted good with the strawberries. The whipped cream had already melted by the time we got home.

Great cheesecake and atmosphere. What more can you ask for? My favourite is the matcha flavour! A little too sweet for me but still so soo good!

Also amazing service! The waitress overheard that it was my friends birthday, and so she brought out some fire cracking candles, when bringing the cakes over to our table. Super sweet

This place is only open from 7pm to 1am. It was busy when we got there around 9pm. We had original cheesecake and matcha cheesecake, they both were so good. They’re not as sweet and heavy as New York cheesecake and not as fluffy and light as Japanese cheesecake, it’s kind of in-between. We loved it! Latte was just ok though.

Incredible cheesecake! The best I’ve ever had. The live music used to be amazing before covid but I still visit often because everything from atmosphere to service to the quality of cake is incredible!

Great cheesecake - light and smooth texture, fruit toppings complete the plate. Some of the best jam I've tried.

Cheese cake there is exceptional as always. However, during my last visit, the server there was roaming around serving cheese cakes without a mask. I don’t think the cashier was wearing one too. I understand that masks are not mandatory indoors at the time of my visit, but as the 4th wave is already hitting us, and the infection number keep on ticking up everyday, I would appreciate people in food services wear masks. Again, this review has nothing to do with their cheesecake, just how they practice COVID safety.

Delicious cheesecake with a night time jazzy atmosphere.

Ordered and paid at the counter. Food was brought to us but that was the extent of the table service. One entrance to enter and another to leave. Lineup outside and fairly easy to find parking.

Still the BEST CHEESECAKE IN TOWN.

Really interesting cheese cake, like a cross between New York style and Japanese. There is no “bottom layer” if that makes sense. Open late. Apparently they had live jazz in the past but there wasn’t any when we went.

Great cheesecake and cool ambiance. I was a little concerned with the washroom's lack of soap and hand sanitizer, but overall great experience.

Not impressed at all. I ordered a slice of strawberry cheese “cake”. It’s basically cheese-mousse (not rich at all) with no base crust… it’s mousse and strawberry sauce which tastes pre made rather than home made. No idea why they call it a cheese cake. It’s neither. The taste is ok but consistency and texture is lacking. I’m still confused as to what the hell I received in my order. Def don’t recommend it.

There are three options for cheesecake here: chocolate, matcha, and classic, with various add on options. The cake is light and not too sweet or creamy, and any add on you get is quite generous in amount. I had the classic which was quite good, but would have preferred more options to choose from.

The aesthetic and ambiance inside is lovely. The art and vintage seats makes it feel like a diner in the 90s. However, the cheesecake it’s self falls short especially in comparison to the interior decor. The taste is rather underwhelming and overly fatty. The toppings are fresh and delicious but the cheesecake… not so much.

One of the Cheesecake must try place to go when visiting Vancouver. Very nice vibe and romantic place for couples. They have another side which is brighter with a sky roof, where family can also enjoy some family time! Plain Cheesecake with Strawberry toppings is my favourite!

Cheeecake is very light, smooth, and almost fluffy! Just sweet enough, and doesn’t feel too heavy. A very different experience compared to a New York style cheesecake. They are crustless, and kinda reminded me of Japanese cheesecake but is more creamy and has more substance.

Vancouver's most famous cheesecake restaurant. When you go around 9 PM, you can enjoy wonderful jazz piano.

Missed my regular hang out place. Great cheesecakes/staffs! Just wished they could open at some days during the summer for lunch time.

I really loved the cheesecake here! I found the vanilla/plain base to be much better than the chocolate though, so I'd recommend the vanilla.

Service was a little slow, but the atmosphere was great and the whole thing was a pleasant experience.

3 year update: I came back when in town for a work trip three years later. The cheesecake was somehow even better than I remember it being!

I like the taste but the consistency is of moose not cheesecake (my personal opinion). However staff is really nice

Some of the best cheesecake I have ever tried. The place is huge lots of seating (unfortunately we went during a corona lockdown so there was only takeout) but the cheesecake, toppings and coffee were all amazing. Defs a must for any cheesecake connoisseur. The cake we tried was plain, with the strawberry topping, and we tried the blueberry topping last time.

They only accept reservations! Open until 1 am but when I cane at 11 pm, I was refused.we don't take walk-ins at night. Great, thanks for that.

Always have been and always will be a huge fan of this place.although the owners are not able to tend to Cheesecake Etc.anymore, the family has done a fantastic job of maintaining the lovely ambience, candlelit tables, and jazzy vibes.great for a date night and long conversations. I will never stop recommending this place!

As good as always. Simple cheese cake made perfect. I have been coming here for almost 30 years. They added some new favor like Matcha and new toppings, but my favorite is still their original cheese cake. Light and creamy.

Disappointing.
The hot chocolate was literally a powder mixed with hot water. The cheesecake was an average meh. The Simenon baguette was crunchy and buttery (the only part that I actually enjoyed)
Would I try this place again? No way.

Cheesecake is mewh. Wish there was crust but even without it was mewh, not rich cheesecakes. The staff weren't overly friendly. The lighting was nice sets a good vibe but the decor is extremely off. This restaurant has huge potential but since the owner passed away it has gone down hill. I will probably not be back.

I went there so many times but today the cake tastes like old wax, cadle smell in the cake. Do you serve fresh cake? Hope it was only once. Quite disappointed.

This is a very special place for us. The ambiance, food, everything is top notch. Its really sad that we wont hear an owner play piano anymore but I am glad that they managed to keep the place the same. Absolutely love their cheesecakes and their staff is always wonderful

I’m a big fan of cheesecake with crust, but after multiple visits, their cakes are growing on me. I recommend the matcha cheesecake or any of their specials on chocolate. Their drinks are also very well crafted. Since everything closes in Vancouver when it gets dark, this is one of the few places you can go and pass time with friends.

Cheese cake is nice but the atmosphere is very cozy. The service can be little better but overall I do recommend this place. If you happen to be downtown like me you can walk over the Granville bridge (beautiful walk) on a nice day. The place is right off the shoulder of Granville right after the bridge.enjoy

Cheesecake is good though a bit too soft for my preferences. Air circulation should be improved; it was cold outside and in the room with the fireplace, the smell of burnt gas was a bit too much.

When my boyfriend and I visited this evening, we waited for 5-10 mins at the door. There was no server “willing” to guide us to a table while more than 50% of their tables are available. So I stepped forward to ask. One server was extremely rude, she told us to stay near the door and not to be in the cafe! Her attitude is bad like we’re not important as customers. Im just curious if the manager knows how bad your customer service is now! My boyfriend was very mad and left right away. Based on this type of service, it does not deserve a second visit. It ruined our mood completely for the day.

Their cheese cake was okay but their drinks were horrible. I ordered 5 drinks with my family including hot chocolate, vanilla latte and hazelnut latte and they all tasted like a water and it was too expensive to buy one. I would rather order americano or frappuccino from starbucks. And they only take debit or cash, i mean i get that you guys want money for this, but if you really want to earn money for this at least make a proper coffee that actually taste like a coffee.

Super cute family run dessert place. Great place to take a date, open late, soft lighting and you can easily talk to your partner there.

Great place for a post dinner date dessert. Although the cheesecake is a little bit on the sweet side, the sour strawberry jam matches really well.

I was excited for the late night desert with live jazz music but was very disappointed! Atmosphere is dark and grungy, kind of like an underground strip bar.

Cheesecake wasn't very good. Yes soft, but no flavour and no crust. The fruit topping was similar to canned pie filling. And the whipped cream similar to canned whipped cream.
And to top it off, at time of payment the waitress was rude and shared information in in a manner that a guest does not need to hear. She made us uncomfortable.

A great place for a romantic date. Pics of old time stars on the walls. Soft lighting, Recorded Jazz and Stellar Cheesecake, tea and coffee. Parking is not good but if you don't mind walking a bit try parking a few blocks west.

At first when I went there I thought it was very cool, the lighting was nice the background music was nice and I liked that it was open till late. However, my friend and I went and got a cheescake each and I also got a hot water becaue I was sick and didn't want their ice cold water. But when I got to the counter to pay, the lady there said we had 3 cheesckakes and I insisted that we had 2 and that she could go check our table to see that there were only 2 plates, as she didn't believe me. After she charged me for the hot water I got which I thought was odd because no other place ever charges you for water and she overcharged me and spoke very rudely to me and asked me if I was from India and I said no I was born and raised here in Canada. I felt a little offended with the way she spoke. I bought two cheescakes and she charged me close to $30 when the cheesckakes were each only worth around $7. So I probably will not go back there again.

The cheesecakes definitely taste different from other places. It had a sour undertone and mild texture. It's not my type, but worth to try.

The best soft and creamy cheesecake I have ever had in my entire life. Great atmosphere with some amazing live jazz music. A must visit place.
