The Chinese dim sum experience was delightful. The dumplings were expertly crafted, each bite bursting with flavor. The har gow's thin, translucent skin showcased perfectly cooked shrimp, while the siu mai impressed with a savory pork filling. The variety of dumplings, coupled with the steaming presentation, made for a satisfying culinary adventure.

The service is always top notched every time we have dim sum at Chef Tony’s. The food never disappoints and is really consistent. We tried a new version of their Shanghai Pan fried pork buns today and they were great. The filling was juicy and flavourful and the bun was light and fluffy compared to the traditional heavier and denser buns. The outlook of the restaurant is getting outdated but the food is one of the best in Richmond.

Overpriced and over rated dim sum and rude staff. This restaurant thinks adding black truffle to tiny frozen food quality portions makes it gourmet. Lots of much better dim sum places all over Richmond.

One of the owners of the Yidong Restaurant, old man George, is a liar. He opened a restaurant in Aberdeen called Yi Xiaoguo and renamed it Foodie Canteen. Now it is closed. Only then did all the employees find out that there are no E i paper and T 4 hair staff. It turns out that this old man George is a government employee. We called him countless times about taxes. He kept lying to everyone. Last year, there was an employee who didn’t file a tax return this year without T4, which caused her to file a tax return this year. It was a strange thing to get a check and file a tax return without T4. Now all the employees of the Foodie Canteen I can't even file my taxes. This old man is really not a human being. He goes around harming people.

Unless you’re Chinese, don’t bother coming to this place. They will ignore you, refuse to acknowledge your presence, refuse eye contact…until you give up and leave.
No joke.
The racism at these “authentic” Chinese places is seriously bad.

The food is decent, but nothing warrants the horribly outrageous racism these people display towards non-Chinese.

Unbelievable

Chef Tony came highly recommend by a lot of our friends who know where to go for good Chinese food. But because it is so popular, and we often saw people standing outside waiting to get in, we didn't try it until friends of ours suggested it for lunch. For dim sum, it is important to go with folks that have compatible taste in terns of which dishes to order and we weren't disappointed. Our friends made excellent choices. We tried all the rice rolls, including one filled with egg tofu and scallops. We also tried the seafood congee which was very delicious. I was delighted to have other people to share the chicken feet with so I didn't have to eat all of it myself. I know that we ordered number 32 (Xiao Lon Bow) but we never saw that dish. We did not taste or feel the effects of MSG (wow, that was a first for Chinese dim sum!). The din was very high – it was the first time my ear drums felt weird when I first sat down. Vancouver is full of Chinese Dim Sum restaurants, but it has been years since we enjoyed dim sum like this. We were very grateful our friends suggested this place and made an agreement that we should have lunch here again regularly.

A modern take on traditional dishes utilizing gold flakes, black cuttlefish ink and black truffle. The har gow wraps are sticky fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the presentation of the rice rolls over the folding method as it felt more precise and portioned. The black truffle used for the shu mai gives an opportunity to savor the celebrated ingredient not typical to my dining experience. The service staff were excellent and appreciated.

Chef Tony's is definitely an elevated more fancy style of dim sum. It's expensive but it's really tasty. I like to go here when I'm picking someone up from the airport and it be the first thing that someone eats when visiting Vancouver!

Pretty unique flavours for having truffle on some of their dimsum dishes. Also enjoyed their dessert.

Loved everything we ordered, but would like to specify.the soup dumplings are not dumplings with soup in it (which I prefer) but a dumplings in soup.

The people working in the Richmond location are very rude, no service. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant.
