Omg! Their lamb dishes are AMAZING! Lots of meat, and they tastes so good. Highly recommend this place!

Great food. I never had biryani this good. This was our first time trying out this restaurant. Awesome chicken curry and goat biryani too. I’ll be going back for sure and i wanna try all the items on the menu. The food really slapped. This is one of my go to Indian restaurants now.

I eat here fairly often and never had a bad meal yet. It’s always a struggle to pick between Lamb Korma, Eggplant Bharta and Butter Chicken so I sometimes get all three and live off leftovers for days after. The veggie pakora is sometimes inconsistent but it’s rare enough to be non-issue.

I did have multiple instances of not receiving my Mango Lassi during pickup so always check that you got everything you paid for before leaving. It seems to be an honest mistake since the Lassi sits in the fridge separate from rest of the food awaiting pickup.

Went there on the recommendation of our hotel concierge, food was absolutely delicious. I'm a big fan of Shahi paneer, and this place made one of the best. Also had the Afghan kabob, which I highly recommend.

No sense of customer service and neither does the staff care about it. The food quality is not as expected from a +4 star rated resturant. Food that was ordered together arrived in installments. My had to wait whe the other members were already finished withtheir food. When complaint about it the waitresssaid they bring out food as it is prepared. I think they have no sense of preparing dine-in food. The dishes were so-so as we found them too sour and creamy. I wouldn't be going back

The food was great! Beer not so cold but used cubes! Server didn't comprehend English to fullest but the food was great so that was ok. Overall I recommend and would eat there again!

Best indian food in surrey. They just did a reno and it's even better.

Update after 3 years. I am writing this so the owner can see this.

I think the restaurant is now busier with more recurring customers. But unfortunately the quality of food is not keeping up. Maybe lack of people working in the kitchen? Or rushing on orders to get it on the table as fast as they can?

I had many dishes along with chicken Afghani Tikka, my favorite. But for the first time, the chicken was not fresh that it smelled a little, dry, not a whole piece of thigh, and it was warm.

This is one of my favorite restaurant so please don't make the same mistake as the others. Delivering the same quality of food despite the full house is what makes a great restaurant an outstanding restaurant.

I ordered party trays for my son's Birthday event. I received a high quality of service and food. All of my guests enjoyed both appetizer and dinner.

Had lunch a couple of times before, took my wife for dinner last night.we ordered the butter chicken (wife said it was the best she ever had) rice, extra naan and the tandoori chicken (I love it and the spectacular chutney). Looking forward to our next visits.

Ordered Chana bhatura lunch special. Portion is really good. The bhatura oily bit rubbery. Chana zero flavour very bland. Won’t ever order this again from here. Price very reasonable $10 and change

We enjoyed the food. We are vegetarian and they had plenty of options for us. The vegetarian soya chaap kebab and jackfruit kebabs were delicious. Service was polite and timely. Would recommend it to anyone looking for good Indian food.

I ordered from this place for the first time this week and took my order to go. I gotta say, the food is great and the portions are very generous. I ordered two orders of Chicken Biryani and I assumed that one order is good enough for one person (that's usually how portions go). Oh, no, let me tell you: one meal is good enough for TWO people! I'm not even kidding! When I opened up the box I was shocked! My two orders made enough food for 4 meals for work! It was awesome! My only suggestion? Maybe put more chicken into the mix? There are big pieces thrown in and you still get your money's worth, but there was more rice than chicken that I noticed. That being said, however, this is still a great restaurant and the amount of food you get for your meal makes this place definitely worth ordering from! This place doesn't skimp on portion size. You will definitely get what you pay for here both in quantity and quality.

Although I love the dishes I was not pleased with the service on my take out pickup order this evening. The 10% discount was not applied and I didn’t notice till I got home. I called and was told I should have said something. The young lady said there was an issue and management has been told. So she knew the discount was not applied and chose to do nothing. Also there is a very small 3c liqueur charge that she also said was a mistake with the billing but never offered to correct that either.
She did offer a 15% discount on my next order but on my next order I should get 10% anyways so an additional 5% doesn’t even cover what I didn’t get for online order tonight.
I will await contact from Chef Kebob.

Update to my review. I received an email and everything was straightened out. As a result of this I am changing my review to 4 stars.

I also did not realize the butter chicken and the vindaloo came without bread or rice. We made our own. When we were there for lunch it came with rice and bread so I assumed incorrectly the dinners would also.

One of the few Indian restaurants which looks neat and tidy. Food is yummy. Tried Chana Bhatura and Parantha. Staff is courteous and responsive. Peaceful nice place with beautiful ambience to enjoy authentic Indian food.

Chef kebab has the best food in surrey. They have delicious chicken pakoras. Every time great experience with food and customer service. Definitely worth trying if you are looking for good Indian food.

Another evening with delicious Indian food. Don't let the name fool you. This is 1st class Indian food; NOT a fast food place.

We eat here very often and most of the appetizers and vegetarian entrees are pretty good. But when it comes to the chicken and lamb curries, the taste is very inconsistent. Most times, the curry is just a varying blend of tomatoes and onions with no particular flavours. What's Indian food without the unique spice blends? Not every curry is meant to be a variation of butter chicken.

The chai is totally skippable.

Went for lunch with a friend today and we ordered the lunch specials, friend ordered the lamb curry combo and I ordered the shahi paneer combo - was so delish and good quality food for the value. We were both shocked with the generous amount of lamb meat in the curry; and the paneer was fresh creamy tasting. I am not big fan of on any lentil type dishes, but the small bowl of lentil soup that came with the combo was flavorful and I must say yummy. We finished the meal with a nice hot cup of chai tai.

This is not my first visit to this gem of a restaurant, as we had dinner here a week prior with family from out of town, we ordered a lot of dishes as there was ten of us and my brother and his wife from Calgary said they will never get this variety of different tasting curries or quality of food back home.

The honey chilli cauliflower appetizer was outstanding especially when my adult son who does not eat vegetables tried a piece and said he can eat a bowl of that as he enjoyed the texture and crispiness and flavouring.

Service is great and I love the bell that you can ring for service:)

Best Dal Makhni and Tandoori Chicken in town. The rates are reasonable so you can’t go wrong with this one. The icing on the cake is $7 for a shot of Glenfiddich which pairs really well with their kababs.
PS. Paneer bhurji is a must try too.

Food was wonderful. However if you expect spicy to be spicy, it's not the place for you. Otherwise, a very friendly staff and clean restaurant.

Absolutely love this place! Their staff is always friendly and food is always delicious. Have been here on many occasions have ordered the butter chicken, chili paneer, lamb korma and many more. Have never been disappointed. Easily my favourite spot in Surrey!

Possibly the best Shahi Paneer in the lower mainland, at least as far as I've tasted. Every table has a bell to call for the waiting staff, which is very helpful if you want another serving.

Absolutely delicious! This was our first time ordering from here, we had been wanting to try it for a while. We ordered vegetable pakoras, which were very tasty. Chicken korma which was so creamy and light. Lamb kebab, it had a very deep flavour and the korma balanced it out nicely. We also ordered pulao rice and of course garlic naan is a must! We were very impressed by the quality of the food and the flavours. I’d say this is our new favourite place!

Excellent food not spicy. Did not upset my stomach. Nice updated decoration. Nice to see they ask for vaccination proof.

This is my first time writing a review. This sat we ordered take out when we reached there they asked us to wait outside in cold and rain since we dint had masks and their chefs was not wearing masks too. Then today ordered lunch from uber eats and added note to please add cutlery and plates they missed that too spoiled our team lunch and all they said in return sorry we cant deliver plates and utensils missed adding salad. Worst customer service…. Never coming back again

Great food and nice ambience. The honey cauliflower, seekh kebab and Channa Batura we're excellent. Biriyani was OK.

- samosa’s are appetizing, unlike the kick back onshore, but worth a try.
- chai, to my delight was really good.
- we’ve had tandoori chicken here, but I wouldn’t vouch for it.
- mixed vegetables, paneer Kadhai were pretty alright

I went to visit friends who ordered dinner from Chef's Kebab. We ordered the lamb curry, the malai chicken tikka, the kofta, and butter chicken. Both chicken dishes smelled funny and we realized they were bad. The chicken in both dishes was very hard to the fork. The lamb curry was okish but the lamb itself was very very very dry. Overall an extremely disappointing experience, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Tried their breakfast special this weekend. Chana Bhatura & gobi Paratha was great.
Great food, all Curries are really good, specially their bhindi masala. Their Veggie biryani is one of the best in town, bit Pricey for the quantity of their food. Need improvement on customer service front.

The food used to be great, but not anymore. Dry pakora, watery curry, bad quality lamb meat and bad naan.

Ordered channa bhatura, paneer pakoda and chicken biryani. Bhatura was very oily and channa was flat in taste. Pakoda was also oily and seemed undercooked. I've had better from here but lately quality is average at best.

I had ordered food for catering. It was amazing, chef did a great job estimating quantity and preparing delicious food.

Today, I was so disappointed with the food and service of this restaurant. I went to restaurant with my wife & 2 kids. We ordered malai tikka, dal makhani, chicken biryani, roti & nan. The chicken biryani first bite felt like eating very old/rotten chicken inside. Inform the waitress she didn’t apologize and said she can replace, we said ok for replacement for any other food, it’s very laughable she said she can replace with same chicken biryani, we immediately refused because we don’t want to get sick. I am from South Asia and biryani is like a staple food in India/Pakistan, it seem this restaurant is having no idea what is biryani. We return the biryani however they still charged us full amount. They didn’t have courtesy to apologize. Staff is not wearing face mask even though other restaurants still using face mask. I am attaching the receipt for the owner to know that review is not fake.

We discuss with your server, she said she is going to give us same biryani. Please check with your server. Why I would not take if it is fresh. My whole family have same opinion about your biryani. We can't go wrong in this regard.
About the face mask, I know the current rule that mask is not mandatory however other restaurant still using it, because you are in hospitality industry and if you still use it, it shows that you are taking extra precaution which only shows that you are still following protocols even though its not mandatory.
About ruining other people business thats not our goal, if you check my other reviews I always appreciate locally run small scale business, but when you feel cheated thats my right to write review.

Don't try to order from this restaurant online. They have offers but don't uphold them. They make you pay more and they have no respect and horrible customer service. Owner only edited the website after I made my order to change the time and he made the items that I ordered unavailable.and now he's making it seem like I didn't read it properly. Lol

We orderded lamb kebab and kadhai chicken.
Although special instructions were give for making the food extra hot. Kadhai chicken was not at all spicy. Infact i wondered if we wouldnt have given the instructions, we could have got a chicken sweet dish.

The food is excellent. I like it spicy and my wife doesn't do spicy very well. They are able to accommodate us both. It is my "go-to" place whenever I want Indian food.

The food is good. It was very quick. I ordered the Shahi Paneer lunch combo. The Shahi paneer was good with plenty of paneer, the rice is rice, and Daal was good. Where it fell flat was the naan. It was bad. Then on top of that their menu isn't upto date so they charge more than what the menu says

I complained about their container sizes. Owner replied with his response which I accept and changed rating accordingly. They have the best indian dishes in my area. Always fresh and taste good. I never had any negative experince but sometime they can be busy and wait can be longer. I always picked up. Never used the diner. Food is spicy so make sure you order mild or medium if you aren't able to handle spicy food like me.

A good neighborhood restaurant, they have very tasty Indian food and the Bhatooras are really delicious. The presentation is great as well. Staff is friendly. Overall good experience along with delicious food

One of the best Indian food in Surrey but worst customer service. Wanted to share my recent experience. I mostly order Indian food from them as everyone in home really liked food here. I generally order through Uber/Skip but due to recent dine-in restrictions I decided to go myself to pick up the order as I thought restaurants are already suffering and ordering through Food Apps cut down there profit. I ordered a few things and total bill was about 150$. When we reached home I found quantity of Chicken pakora was considerably less as compared to what we use to get earlier. I ordered 2 plates of chicken pakora and quantity in both the plates was about 60perc of what I normally get. Wanted to mention here that I have got food from them around 20 times in last 12 months. So, my wife just called the restaurant just to give feedback about this and got very disappointing response. The girl over the phone started arguing that pieces are bigger in size, so that's why the number of pieces are less which wasn't the case. She didn't acknowledged and keep on arguing in bad tone. We don't want to spoil our dinner further and my wife said we are not happy with the service this time and will not order from here in future. Girl over the phone very rudely said OK and banged the phone. They should realize a customer is who is giving a honest feedback should be acknowledged and if there is any shortfall should be sorted out rather then arguments and false claims. Resturant must understand if a customer has ordered 150$ food and they are calling you to give feedback about a 10$ item they are not expecting or demanding that 10$ from you. They just want an acknowledgement that due to your mistake there evening got a bit spoiled.

Located just down the road from the Comfort Inn, clean and comfortable atmosphere to match the fantastic flavours presented in there cuisine. Great value for your money a definite must go to place in Surrey.

This place looks very dingy on the outside but it looks pretty amazing on the inside. We came here because we saw the price was right from googling. We walked in to order 2 set lunch to go: lamb kebab and a lamb biryani. It took about 20 minutes to get our order as they were busy with many other take out order. Next time I would recommend to call in to order then come to pick up in person. We then took it straight out to our car to eat it because we want to eat it fresh. Once we were in the car we notice they didn’t give us cutlery or napkins so we had to go back inside to get them. I advise not waiting to take the food home because the freshness would not be the best because the steaming from the food would wither the taste. The biryani had lots of tender lamb pieces, very colorful rice in orange and yellow. It tasted just right, not overly salty or spicy. There’s also a flavored yogurt side dish which complement well to help in cleansing the palate and for digestion. The shekh kebab is in little oval shaped meatballs served in green mint chutney and some salad. We were both satisfied overall.

Amazingly tasty food. The cook actually knows what he is doing. The taste n freshness of food is good. Been here multiple times for lunch but i was always so hungry that never took pictures. Snack break n got these two for you.

They also do home delivery, pick up, skip the dishes and catering for all occasions. The place is clean and busy most of the time.

Awesome food. Great service. Unfortunately when we went there was no naan but overall a wonderful experience. Food was awesome. Butter chicken sauce was bomb. Chicken was a bit on the tough side. Chicken pakora was bomb. Super soft and tender. Chicken samosa was stuffed with chicken which was worth the money. Nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Wondered why I didn't find it earlier. Maybe the appearance outside didn't look as nice but when you're inside, its nice, clean and elegant. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Really good indian food and a fairly diverse drinks bar. Food is priced well and the quantities are sumptuous. Tables are fairly close so it's difficult to have any personal conversation if the restaurant is busy.

Came here with my wife while visiting a friend in Surrey. Amazing food and friendly service. The chef knows his flavours. Highly recommended the mango lassi.

Chef's Kebab was a real surprise. I don't know why, but it was. The outside of the building doesn't give the customer any idea what it's like inside. Inside was a pleasant surprise. Warm, clean and comfortable.
One setback is that our server had very little command of English, but she was pleasant and tried hard. I think the servers simply require better training.
Bottom line is that the food was great. Impressive serving sizes and fair pricing. Give it a try.

This place is a hidden gem, it is honestly some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The portions are perfect for sharing, and the price is fair. It’s the best Indian food in Surrey for sure.

I'm staying in Surrey for work and found Chef Kebab on an internet search. This is one of the best Indian places I have ever been to. Don't let the outside appearance fool you, this place is legit. It's extremely affordable and the portions are huge. I ordered biryani and kebabs and they lasted me for 2 meals. They can make the biryani spicier upon request and the flavours were remarkable. The Kebabs were delicious too. I didn't even have to wait for a table. Hopefully, I will go back before I leave Surrey.

Best butter chicken in town. Good portion size. Looks not so good from outside but do not judge a book by its cover.

The Lamb biriyani I order had huge portion and lot of lamb pieces. 1 biriyani will be good for 2 people with average appetite. The biriyani was not that bad. The staff where friendly.

Super tasty Indian dishes at very reasonable prices. Curry dishes tend to have more of a tomatoe base so on the tangy and less spicy side which I like. A hidden gem!

A bit hit or miss to be truthful. Sometimes the food is really good but others.not sure what happened. Service is always friendly and prices are reasonable.

Delicious, flavourful sauces that make you wanting more. Fresh fluffy, soft naan. My go -to items are Shahi paneer, lamb korma. The goat curry is good too. The lunch specials are delightful too. Great place for family style, or casual dining with friends too.

MESS UP OF AN AUTHENTIC DISH.
We ordered Amritsari Kukcha which is usually served with Raita, Pickle, Salad and Chole sabzi. This is also how it is served in Amritsar from where it receives it's name.
The dish was served and above all instead of salad we were served Carrots dipped in vinegar (continental cuisine). Carrots dipped in vinegar should be removed and pickle is a okay to go with it (which was served).
The dish is served for $7.00 and I wonder whose idea was it to mess up this delicacy by playing with the authenticity of a dish.
Being from Hospitality, it was sad to see this. In Hospitality, if, the food cost of a dish is going up we rectify it and we can raise a dish price by few dollars but we never make changes according to our wills and fancies. I am surprised nobody mentioned it to them.
So sorry with our experience.
We love this place and hope they rectify it.
If a dish is not in menu - it should not be served.
I wonder that we paid $7.00 for one Aloo Paratha, which, is too much. Besides, the point.dish was supposed to be properly served.

Below average Indian fare. The Chana masala tasted like it was made from ketchup, and the chicken curry wasn’t much better. You’re better off getting Vij’s from the freezer aisle.

One of my favorite Indian restaurants in surrey, prices are good and lunch time the dishes are organized into complete meals. Makes it easy for people less informed about Indian dishes.

Food is fantastic and the service is there to match. Sure the atmosphere isn't "trendy" but you'll leave happy. Tops in my book.

Delicious Indian food that tastes like it is home cooked. The service is consistently mediocre so don't expect too much, but go for the food. The lamb korma, butter chicken, chicken tikka, and prawn curry are all highly recommended!
