Chicko Chicken King George

The food was amazing in flavor. Good crunch, juicy on the inside, the fries are to die for. So that's not the problem.

The problem is that, instead of separating a chicken into pieces and frying it, they must take a meat-cleaver and smash the entire chicken into bite-size pieces and then fry it.

The result is bone shard all.through.the chicken. Shards so sharp that, if you swallow one, who knows what kind of damage it could do. If it doesn't get that far, it could easily break your teeth by biting onto it like I did SO many times, and by then you have a mouthful of chicken that you literally have to spit out and pick through to find it. Don't pick the bone-in for your date night, spitting out and sifting your chewed chicken is probably not attractive.

I had so many shards I had to stop eating entirely. Normally I eat bone-in chicken because it tends to be juicier / more flavorful, but it is not worth getting a shard of bone stuck in my esophagus. They give you literally one "whole" chicken piece like a leg and the rest is pulverized, to the point where you may have just gotten the boneless to begin with.

I'd like to try the boneless next time, I just don't know if there will BE a next time because of how off-putting the whole experience was.

In our half order of Padak Padak there was green onions but no sauce? Everything else was delicious though

Good food but horrible service by employees. Put me on hold for 20 mins and the lady said she forgot about me.

Placed an order over the phone today. Provided my phone number. Store staff said it would be ready for pick up in 20 mins.

Got there on time, they told me there’s no such order associated with my phone number.

It turns out the staff just missed my order (didn’t add it into the system). They said I have to now wait for another 20 mins - for their mistake. Can’t make it any faster. Didn’t offer any discount or even try to make up for this mistake.

Always had good experience with Chicko at other locations. Not going to be a customer at this location when this is the level of service they provide.

I liked their chicken. They always cook fresh chicken. It takes a bit of time, like 20-25 minutes, but it is totally worth it

Hands down still my favorite Korean Fried Chicken place in Surrey. Employees in there are nice and service is good and quick too. Avg order time is about 15 mins and 30 mins when busy so just call ahead to avoid waiting if any:) Great experience

Korean style fried chicken was a favorite here as the cheese crusted chicken was unique while the shoyu chicken balanced out

Chicko chicken… you have crunchy yet chewy, saucy and lightly marinated, bliss targeting Korean fried chicken. Definitely one of my favourites?

Employees were friendly, an older gentleman worker actually walked up to me in the lobby & asked me to have a seat at their table & gave me an update on the status of the order which was nice.
I ordered the Yangyeom & it was fresh & made to order which I liked. I gave one less star because I wasn't a fan of the smell of the sauce, however it tasted fine. I will still come back to try another dish sometime!

Perfect with tartar sauce or even better kwepie mayo

Had the boneless half & half soy garlic and yangyeom. Absolutely some of the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had! Deliciously crispy. The fries were fairly small compared to the order but a Full size + fries was enough to feed 3 people. Took 15 mins to cook, and takeout kept perfectly on the trip home. Definitely will come again!

The chicken is made fresh at every order which makes the experience and taste a lot better than other fried chicken places. The boneless chicken here is 1000% better than non-Korean style boneless chicken because at Chicko, they use the whole chicken, not just the chicken breast.

Quality fried chicken for a good price. I got a half of the PADAK PADAK and it was a really good amount for the price.

Tried the shake shake fries, the regular boneless and the spicy boneless. Amazing. I was a little bummed on the price but I have leftovers to do it all over again tomorrow so it was pretty decent actually and for the top quality chicken it's worth it!

Such a great first experience, the workers are friendly and the food is amazing! You will have to wait because everything is freshly made but honestly it’s worth the wait. Found my new go to place!

Had the Yangyeom Chicken and Padak Padak Chicken will not disappoint so glad its in surrey

Best fried chicken! Get the snow cheese, it was amazing. Staff was friendly and place was clean. Great to have a good Korean fried chicken place around surrey central.

Really fresh fried chicken as all meals are made to order.

So far I've had the full box and meal both fresh and delicious.

It's definitely a unique taste and the second to spiciest was just right as in not spicy at all with a hint of sweetness.

Will be back for sure.

I just had Chicko Chicken for the first time. I ordered the soy garlic, and it was AMAZING!
The best korean fried chicken I've ever had! Delicious! Will be ordering again.
