Told my 65-year-old grandmother that her coughing fits which continuously led to her being UNABLE TO BREATHE were "normal" despite her oxygen levels decreasing every single time they happen (She has a fitbit watch which tracks this), the staff here do not know what they're doing and should find a different profession, like janitorial work.
06 November 2023 4:30
Honestly, it's better to visit Kelowna or Vancouver hospitals.
The difference between the personnel is quite shocking.
03 November 2023 14:52
I’d give them a zero, reception was very rude at first for no reason. I called once and they hung up on me and the second time they gave no information and hung up as well.
22 October 2023 3:16
Excellent service by nurses and doctors here they straight away helped me out with my needs and i was so happy with the responses i got so quick. So much better than the Abbotsford hospital!
25 September 2023 16:25
If I could put no star I would. Unprofessional, can’t even sedate someone properly so they don’t feel any pain during a procedure. Very disappointed. Never even told me aftercare instructions. Should have gone to Abbotsford hospital
16 August 2023 12:12
Night staff are very rude and not helpful i came in last night cuz i fell on my bike ripped my stitches and ended up going home and not getting anyhelp no water badages or help
03 August 2023 0:00
This hospital is a joke can in with a huge cut on my hand still bleeding waited 5 hours to be told I would have to wait another 4 to 5 hours. The emergency was never that full ended up waiting to the next day to go to a walk in
09 June 2023 17:19
UPDATE: Triage was quick. Nurses were nice, doctor was quick and super knowledgable. Lab needs an overhaul. Even the nurses are complaining about how bad at their job they are.

I had my son here and it was awesome. They were all so wonderful. However, I am pregnant again and have recently had to start coming back for ultrasounds. The last time I was there, Feb. 2, the ultrasound waiting room had standing room only, the chairs were not socially distanced properly, and the maintenance guy was not wearing his mask properly. I am now sick, after managing to stay healthy throughout this whole pandemic.
14 April 2023 12:17
My husband and I went in to emergency because he was very sick and had a pounding ear infection that worsened with time. It was on a weekday and no walk-in clinics were operating at 8pm so we had no other option. The wait time was horrendous, 5 hours before we saw a doctor and all we needed was for someone to give his ears a check and prescribe appropriate antibiotics for him to take. Meanwhile, they would go an hour to 2 hours before calling the next patient in. I don't know what's happening to our health care system but this is getting ridiculous and I expected better. The doctor spent seemed rushed and I don't know if this is due to lack of staff or what, but it's just a sad state of affairs when all other options are lacking and you're having to go to emergency for minor health concerns. And we weren't the only one there for minor health issues. Something needs to change, this is just unacceptable. And this is the same hospital that took in my grandma when she fell, the staff discharged her before she was fully healed and she was back in 10 minutes later with breathing problems. There appears to be a lack of care and work ethic from what my family and I have witnessed and we should expect better from our hospitals and medical care! It's inferiating and I just can't believe that THIS is the best we can do.
08 April 2023 15:00
I came here for my mom's eye surgery from Abbotsford the staff and volantiar people are so helpful way better than Abbotsford hospital.
02 April 2023 5:49
Useless hospital, even worse if your native an you can’t even talk to the emergency people there there so lucky to get a one star
23 March 2023 21:09
Chilliwack Hospital is simply the most awesome healing place in this world, best doctors nurses all staff I think you're wonderful, Thankyou ️️️
22 March 2023 4:05
I’m severe pain and the doctors are more worried about talking about the super bowl than asking me my symptoms, took so long for no reason, had me sitting in a room alone for 2 hours before asking me any questions, horrible hospital.
16 March 2023 8:35
The staff are great, but the facility not so much (-1 star).

We went to the ER with a suspected broken wrist during dinner hours on a weekday. Although busy, it wasn't "packed". Our first time here and I was a bit surprised with the interior state appearing run down, holes in ceilings, etc but otherwise was clean and professional.

The staff did a great job IMO with triage. Unfortunately our ERs have turned into people going for all sorts of ailments that are not an emergency which then backs up wait times for everyone else too.

At any rate, an xray was done fairly soon after we arrived, and then the longest wait occurred in terms of being seen by the nurse and doctor to discover the results and treatment.

Chrissy the nurse, Dr Ryan Gant, and the rest of the team were great. They handled a whole number of issues back to back from a young child with a finger chopped off, to a strained back, broken bones and even a fellow with a power drill thru his hand.

Door to door was 4hrs or so.

Security should do a better job of patrolling the building though IMO. The majority of the time they spent in the office and there were quite a few homeless coming and going from the bathrooms doing more than the call of nature.
17 February 2023 4:08
I woke up and was unable to move without enduring extreme pain. My phone had died, so I tearfully managed to drag myself to my stairs. Luckily I had a coffee date planned with a friend who got worried when I didn’t show and came into my house looking for me. He ended up picking me up off of the floor, carried me up the stairs and off the to hospital we went. We waited 5+ hrs in the hospital only for a female doctor ask me my symptoms, imply I was just being dramatic, and laugh at me because I was too young to have any serious issues. She insisted I must be pregnant even though I told her there was absolutely no chance and explained why. She told me to take Tylenol and leave.

I went to the Abbotsford hospital instead, and they actually got me a wheelchair. Wait time was less than an hr and found out I had displaced a disk in my spine, I also had a pinched nerve. (My luck). The doctor asked me who I saw at chilliwack general and said I should make a formal complaint but unfortunately I couldn’t remember her name. She was tall, slender, well kept dark hair, Asian, fair complexion. Unfortunately that was all I got but even the Abbotsford doctors were disgusted with what I had told them. Do not bother with CGH if you are in serious pain. It was such a horrible feeling to be dismissed by someone you’re supposed to trust within a 3 minute conversation.
15 February 2023 13:31
I had a miscarriage December 5th and have been in and out of this hospital every weekend since with heavy bleeding and huge blood clots passing, they did absolutely nothing kept telling me it will pass, we'll January 10th and I'm still dealing with it thank God for my family dr to know what his job as a dr is and help me, the hospital wait was 7.5 hr and no help to my bleeding.
10 February 2023 17:36
Went into ICU last Friday for a Heart Inversion.well it was truly a wonderful experience.from start to finish I was treated with utmost care and attention. The staff were wonderful and everything was explained. I could not have wished for more. Thank you.
26 December 2022 0:07
Hope you don’t die in the emergency room. We waited for 6 hours to someone visit my sick kid. Just one doctor and almost he was socializing with people.
11 November 2022 14:04
Great Maternity service!
All the Nurses and Doctors are wonderful, Kind and very well took care of us!
26 August 2022 13:29
I had a horrible experience at the emergency room today. The doctor and nurses treated me with no care and respect, I could not imagine how can someone be in a helping profession and saying such disrespectful and heartless things to a patient in pain. I felt very hurt and offended by the way they treated me.
I was brought into the emergency room because a dislocated jaw bone and it had caused a panic attack and I kept vomiting. I was unable to talk because of my mouth, and I was in so much panic, exhaustion and pain that I could barely hear what they were saying, and whenever I open my eyes to look I couldn't resist vomiting. Not to mention the fact that the doctors ignored me wearing wet clothes and was shaking and left me waiting, one doctor(or nurse)told the other that "she (refers to me in the wheelchair) was just being dramatic".

I turned out leaving the hospital after waited for two hours and when to a clinic.

Seriously I cannot believe what I heard. How can doctors say such things to someone who is in pain and at their most vulnerable moments. I felt deeply offended and stigmatized. It was my very first time having a panic attack and my experience really made me disappointed in how medical professional treats people with psychological conditions.

I don't believe I'm the only one who have experienced this kind of stigma. You are supposed to help people and not mocking them at their worst moments. It's such a shame. You should do better than this.

I underwent a major surgery on the 11th of May 2022.
Chilliwack Hospital deserves 5 Stars. The staff members were simply wonderful and caring. I was highly impressed from the time I 'checked in', pre-assessment nurse Holly Williams, the receptionist staff, the phlebotomist, OR staff (they understood that I was extremely nervous), the recovery team and the staff of ward NU 4. Despite being extremely busy, the staff members were highly professional and caring for patients with different personalities, even through difficult situations. I understand as I have been nursing for 50 years. Any concerns and questions that I had were promptly addressed. The two gems that stood out were Lance Schroder and Kaila. I would like to thank the housekeepers and care aids, one of whom I worked with at SMH. Last but not least, my thanks to Dr Sean Deacon. Understanding my phobia of the anesthetic, my surgeon chose the experienced Dr Peter Coles. It was also reassuring to have Dr Roberson, an experienced surgeon, join the team.
Once again, thank you everyone for all you did for me.
30 June 2022 14:56
Dr. Li and Dr. Ritesh Parekh were so kind and patient. They were thorough, answered all my questions, and were reassuring when I was concerned. I was very nervous about going in but I had a really good experience this visit.

The folks at the front were also very friendly and helpful and someone even walked me all the way to where my appointment was because I hadn't been there before.

Thanks to all the staff who helped me, I really appreciated your kindness.
21 June 2022 14:33
Incredibly long wait times, poor service, the girl who did my heart tracing was fantastic, but if you have a medical emergency avoid with all cost, the don’t care. Your wait time is anywhere between 7-12 hours and the doctor gives u some poor answer along the line of just see your family doctor. Would not recommend
07 June 2022 9:08
It's good but,

Now, atleast unjam the transmission of calling and video over wifi or maybe fix it, like some technical problem maybe replace the modem so that the patients can connect with their family and friends no excuse haha.

While today’s experience was terrible and had me in tears twice I’m giving 3 stars as the female Dr we saw, the volunteer who helped with the line up to triage and the lovely woman who cleaned the small seating area we were sent to again when I was there was absolutely lovely.

The intake nurse was horrible, I’ve never been spoken to so rudely. I understand that health care is overwhelmed but during intake she cut me off twice (I’d been turned away from walk ins due to my 3 Yo daughter’s respiratory issue) so I wanted to explain this was an ongoing issue. She did not care she said “that was then why are you here now? ” During this process she was frustrated looking around for her break relief so I figured it was a long difficult night and nothing to do with us.

Then when I took my daughter (2 hours into waiting) to the bathroom I missed being called, I had let the woman directing triage know as she had interacted with my daughter and we rushed back, however 20 mins after returning she yelled through the glass “where did you go? ” And burst out the door to tell me there was no way I went to the washroom I was gone too long. We had went to the washroom... And come right back in under 5 minutes. After loudly arguing with me she said “well hopefully they come back for you again” and stormed off. The lady next to me was just as surprised as I was. My daughter asked why “that person yelled at me” and the woman next to me was very sweet and kind as she was just as shocked at the outburst.

While I empathize it’s been a trying couple years in health care, we were quiet, patient, following all rules and I was there because of a situation with my small child’s breathing. I don’t believe this behaviour Was appropriate or excusable.
04 May 2022 0:43
If I could give a 0 I would for the good doctors and nurses there's very few and very far I have multiple conditions that land me in the hospital frequently and alot of the time they treat my condition as though it's an inconvenience and that I'm perfectly fine I may look perfectly healthy, but my body is in almost constant pain. They do not care and have even wheeled me out when I can't even stand up the hospital is a joke they don't care about actual medical problems.
10 March 2022 20:33
If you are in early pregnancy and you are bleeding, do not go to this hospital because they will increase your bleeding. You wait hours to be seen and still leave without a medical prescription. I had a miscarriage because they don't care about 7 weeks pregnant and only give you treatment if you are 20 weeks pregnant. Terrible service, the doctor didn't even know what he was doing. Do not go to this hospital if you need urgent medical care or medical treatment.
03 February 2022 4:47
This place is a disgrace to the fields of medicine and health care. This place turns away so many people with legitimate injuries or illnesses simply because they don't want to deal with you and because they think you're just an addict. This place should be shut down and every single doctor and nurse barred from the profession for life.
15 January 2022 15:29
The intake nurses @ Emergency are rude and the wait is usually anywhere between 6-12 hours. I do understand that this Hospital is greatly underfunded so they do what they can I guess. All the Doctors & nurses that have treated me after the horrendous wait have been wonderful though!
14 January 2022 19:10
Gross negligence. Two completely incorrect diagnosis. Both of which could have been life threatening of we didn't go elsewhere. First one, diagnosis, hemorrhoids, actually colon cancer. Second, torn ligaments.actually broken bone in foot. I would highly recommend going to a different hospital.

Will be on the surgery ward, N4, floor 4 for a week. My discharge is tomorrow. It has been a very painful time. I have to say the nurses I had during my stay have been over the top, amazing professionals. I don’t know how they do it looking after so many patients with so many different personalities and sometimes difficult situations. During the week there were so many patients that had come as I had a room with four beds. The nurses made every single patient feel they will be taken care of. I can say every patient that left felt that relief of finally going home but being so grateful they were under the care these nurses. Special thanks to Nancy, Mya, Anju, Joan, Ellen, Nerisse.wishing you all the best!

Sitting here with a four inch open wound (round not a cut) on my foot bleeding everywhere in a world of pain in a wheelchair that has no mobility to the person sitting in it so I can't go anywhere and they tell my caregiver that they have to leave, I've been here for sometime and not one person has asked me if I need to go to the washroom or do I need anything to drink or even if I'm at least ok. I told my caregiver hes not going anywhere as i am in need of assistance. I'm absolutely disgusted in the lack of empathy and consideration for a disabled person in a wheelchair. I will be making a formal complaint against the hospital not to mention everyone parking along the emergency entrance so I couldn't even get on the sidewalk to gain entrance and thank gawd for my caregiver was there to catch the chair as I almost tipped right over.this is by far the worst hospital in BC and should be shut down. 2 hours and not one nurse has asked if I'm ok or anything.if I could give it a minus stars I would
20 December 2021 4:17
People where nice (somewhat) went here with my girlfriend because she was experiencing nausea, fatigue, high blood pressure, and an awful headache the headache didn't stop for the passed 4 days. So we decide that tylonal was not cutting it anymore, so the er was our next step and our family doctor was not available. After a 7h wait at the front waiting area of the er we were met with a 3 hour wait in the office. When the doctor came in with the results all he had to say was, we should book an appointment with our family doctor because " there's not much they can do "
11 November 2021 5:29
Can't say enough about the kindness and care with Betty's team at the Central Registration Desk and most especially the NURSES IN INFUSION CARE. We've seen these amazing individuals often enough to know how they really work and they really work HARD! They are gracious and even though not always treated kindly, they keep going with a smile! What a WONDERFUL group of professionals. Kudos also to the cleaning staff who sometimes are forgotten - we've noticed they are the quiet HERO'S that keep that place looking spiffy and germ free. All other departments have been super in every way too. THANK YOU CGH. WE THINK YOU ARE ALL AMAZING.:)
09 September 2021 10:05
Rude staff, long waits, seems all they do is walk around with their Starbucks while people wait hours upon hours in the emerg. I had poor care here during labor and have continued to have poor care when I've needed to go here.

It took almost 3 hours just to check in at triage which is ridiculous for an emergency situation!
27 August 2021 13:33
I grew up in vancouver so I expected to be there forever but I was only there for no longer than 4hrs the 5 times I went for possible broken foot + follow-ups. Maybe I was lucky on the waits I dunno.
10 August 2021 8:36
I wasn't taken seriously due to prior diagnosis that was unrelated, made to feel like what I came in for wasn't real nor an actual issue when I had been advised by 811 to call an ambulance immediately. I was also continuously cut short when I was trying to explain my severe symptoms, and after hours of waiting with no tests run, I was advised to just make an appointment with my GP.

I can't say I've ever been more disappointed in how my health and concerns were handled. Truly a horrible experience.

I just had a Pelvic Surgery on July29, just wanted to mention that my visit and stay at this hospital was outstanding. The nurses were all so kind and accommodating. They attended to all of us with professionalism and patience. I have never experienced this at such a high level. To the nurses that attended to me pre-surgery to my short 2 day stay afterwards, everything was done with accuracy, gentleness and kindness. I want to say a big thank you to all the nurses that work with such dedication. All your efforts make this world a better place. Thank you to Amanda, Carolyn, Dominique and Lances, my recovery nurses. You are like angels for those of us who are in pain. Also a big thank you to all the staff and my doctor, Dr G. S. Dhillon, who performed the surgery and was back the next two days to visit me. Please know from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate all your hard work and attention to details. Keep up the good work and God Blessings to everyone.

Great staff. The blonde nurse who helped me from 10pm to 1am last night did an absolutely phenomenal job.
27 March 2021 19:03
Called to check on my sons health update when put through nurse on the phone was rude a d said quit calling we are busy thus was our first call since Friday. ICU was always polite. But surgical unit never returns calls.
20 February 2021 16:41
Had bilateral myringotomy done here Jan. 8th. I was looked after very well, on schedule. Nurse Tina helped me. In the OR, the anaesthesiologist, I believe his name was Dr. Rateef (hard to catch names when deaf) was great. The rock star in the OR, especially after the surgery was Nurse Eva. Care above and beyond, really helps.
17 February 2021 0:09
Should I buy a hospital his friendly staff he walked into the front door and they asked you how can we help you are you okay do you need medical attention and so on and so so forth and then you ask him how is the waiting time here in the hospital they say during the day it's wrong night time it's better between 11: 00 and 6: 00 in the morning so I give the rating of four

Thia place was awesome! Was in the rubber room (Pink Room) when I was a kid. Don't know if the Psych Ward is still there but was put there when I escaped from the Children's Ward. One of the exits led to the roof so I go on the roof, climb down the emergency stairs and fart off. You couldn't keep me locked up when I was a kid.
15 December 2020 23:42
I have been treated extremely well in any visit to Emergency. The doctors and all staff are all very caring and thorough.
02 December 2020 20:08
The ER is a joke! The people behind the glass checking sick / hurt in r the worst. How about do your job at a steady pace and if you feel like socializing with the Ambulance service or the person sitting next to you I suggest you take a break or find a restaurant or nightclub to work in.then socializing will be part of your job! The most decent person was the volunteer working the door. Get rid of the fools at triage
21 November 2020 23:11
In all honesty I find the hospital Dr's to be very caring and knowledgeable. All the Dr's such as Dr Olson, Dr oostanbrink, and all the others have helped me out more than I can imagine. The people who complain a lot have to realise that they work with what they got. Heck Dr Olsen even takes time to answer all the weird questions that I have.

If you care about yourself/your loved ones. Do NOT take them here. I understand working in Healthcare is hard, however it just seems most workers here hate it. The staff always are very rude, fed up, and just not pleased to be there. When I was left bleeding in a room from my foot all over their floor for 5 hours without any check ups, tyneol, nothing. I realized just how little i was about to be cared for. My father in-law was quite literally dropped from the operating table here as-well. I dokt know anyone in chilliwack that doesn't have a horror story from this hospital.
27 September 2020 0:08
Wait times are extremely long with nurses and clerks complaining about there job and the people in the line up for everyone to hear. Very unprofessional. Wasnt impressed with the doctor either, rushing me and not listening to what I have to say. I've also had one good doctor while I was there but more bad than good.
07 September 2020 14:39
This hospital is an absolute joke. Seems to be ZERO communication between departments. Info for procedure bookings does not get sent, therefore required appointments do not get booked. You only find this out days later. They tell you they will call you with info, but that’s just lip service. They never call. The negligence of the staff in this hospital is unforgivable. This place should be shut down. If you don’t want you or your loved one to die, go somewhere else.
30 August 2020 16:50
This hospitals treatment of seniors is very alarming and scary. My grandma was drugged to vegetable state without any explanation of what was being needled into her body even though we asked we just got a brief medical name and the nurse would leave, the patient beside her also got the same drug. I'm not going into more detail but the treatment of seniors is questionable and disrespectful. Also, I felt like I was in another era on the fifth floor, it's old and dreary while the bottom floor is all renovated and new. Why are all the seniors on the fifth floor drugged and quiet? It was like the Are You Afraid of the Dark episode, "The Tale of the Night Nurse. " I sure got the spooks. The nurses are *very* robotic and blank.
11 August 2020 1:18
Wait times to speak with anyone at the hospital are a half hour or longer on the phone, and the lab cannot be phoned at all. There is a number for the lab, but if you phone you'll likely get a message saying "call back later. " If anyone does answer (it happened once), they'll put you on hold because they have patients, and there are always patients, so you'll always be on hold.
02 August 2020 3:47
I was scheduled for hernia surgery but it was postponed because of COVID-19. With the soft re-opening of surgery last week I accepted a slot with 48 hours notice. I haven't had surgery for decades and am so impressed with how easy this kind of surgery now is. My surgical team and the hospital did a great job with having to work around the ongoing COVID-19 restrictrions. I have been using other hospital facilities for the past two years - lab, mammograms, pain clinic, xrays and CT scans. Now with having surgery I feel totally comfortable having any kind of medical care done there.
23 June 2020 9:53
This hospital is poorly funded and as a result you can only expect the worst quality of care. The medical staff here are short on experience and training. If you can avoid CGH and drive west to another hospital it will be more beneficial to your health and outcome.
13 April 2020 20:00
6 hours in and was in my 3rd waiting room. Needed xrays but the xray waiting room seemed to have no doctor-patient confidentiality whatsoever because theyd come up to you and discuss your issues in front of literally everyone else. No idea what that was about
07 April 2020 22:48
Shocking and horrible treatment at this hospital. Treated with no empathy just a number go stand in line. Friend was choking having a lot of breathing problems. Very scary. No one would help. Was told to wait in line.
29 March 2020 17:54
My 8 year old son was seen by DR Olson today for a sore throat. He was very anxious about having his throat looked at. The auto scope light scares him. Dr Olson and the nurse tricked him into thinking it was a flashlight. He was told to look up and open his mouth. For the first time in his life he let a dr examine him. 5 And a job well done Dr Olson and RN (I didn’t get her name)
19 March 2020 13:33
The sodexo staff really need to be more dam friendlier. Two cleaning staff who we're working today laughed at me for helping my husband. He had a work ingury and I was helping him move. One of the cleaning crew started starting at me and laughing at me. I will send an email and make a report about her after I find out her name. Other then that everything was fine. I think that was very disrespectful if you ask me. I asked the nurse man if that was the cleaner and he said yes indeed. I have no patients for stupidity. Have a great day. I will be reporting this.
12 January 2020 11:44
I got gut problem. And the doctor s didn't do nothing they told me not to eat solid food because I have gut problem. Bin not eating for 4 weeks now am getting week. Plus I find out if u are a nobody there no help for people like me. I stopped going because the doctor s in Canada not good at all. There's no help for people that are nobodies don't have a chance in this world. Look what happens to poor people that ask for help WE DIE ON THE STREETS ALONE.
23 December 2019 5:27
For a hospital so far out in the valley, great facilities, staff, physicians and equipment. Better than Langley or Surrey by far. Clean, efficient and effectively managed.
16 December 2019 0:01
This hospital is the WORST hospital I’ve ever had to visit in my life. The front desk were rude and very inconsiderate. They acted as if patients should not be approaching them even though they are there to help. My girlfriend passed out in the waiting area and after telling one of the clerks she said “tell her to walk to the stretcher, ” as she was passed out in the waiting room. She reluctantly called a nurse to come when I couldn’t find the wheelchair that she pointed out to me with little direction and no concern for the patient.we received no updates through the whole night, and the front desk couldn’t even help patients who had to use the bathroom. They have zero knowledge of any information that patients want to ask them, which is concerning considering there the only people there is to ask simple questions such as “where is the bathroom? ” ive never received poorer service in my life. The staff needs to realize that people sitting for hours upon hours are not having a good night, so there rude and unhelpful attitude may push certain patients over the edge. DRIVE TO TJE ABBOTTSFORD HOSPITAL, ITLL BE WORTH IT!
30 November 2019 10:16
My name is Gayle. I recently spent over six weeks in this hospital. I have been in hospital many many times and during my stay in Chilliwack I received the best Nursing care I have ever had. The Care Aides were equally terrific. So were all the doctors. I just want this to be known.
13 November 2019 1:58
After waiting in emergency triage for 4 hours I decided to leave and go without treatment. Waste of time. Probably 12-18 people in front of me in the "lower priority" part of triage and for the several hours I was waiting NOT A SINGLE PERSON IN THIS SECTION WAS TREATED! I felt sorry for the 4-year old girl with a broken collarbone, the lady with a broken ankle, the gentlemen with the large cut and the other with the burn - they had all been there much longer without treatment as well. Although high-priority patients came and went (drug over-doses and the such) I felt like this hospital does not meet the minimum with regards to treatment capacity and wait times. Fraser Health needs to be more accountable.
10 November 2019 14:17
Took me 4 hours before I saw a doctor. Waited in 4 different waiting rooms. I had hurt my knee and simply needed xrays. Ended up leaving with only a doctors note. The staff were nice and things were clean.

I have had nothing but great service when I have been in the Chilliwack hospital. Whether it was in the emergency, or being in the hospital having my 3 kids. Nurses, doctors, all staff was extremely helpful.

Absolutely the worst hospital in British Columbia! ER nurses are busy joking and laughing while comparing notes about their sexual conquests over the weekend. If you approach to ask when you will be seen be prepared to get a rude and dismissive response by these broken down Florence Nightingales. Absolute garbage people! The next time you hear nurses on the news whining how they are underpaid and unappreciated just go to Chilliwack Hospital emergency, watch the nurses there in action, and you will have absolutely no sympathy for these poor women that are so hard done by. This hospital deserves negative stars. You might leave sicker than you were when you first arrived because you'll probably get an STD from being touched by these people. And I use the word people loosely in this case.

Wow a lot if mixed opinions on these reviews, personally, I wouldn't say its a 5 star hospital or anything, but it is far better then the other options we have in the area.i haven't been to vancouver general myself so i cannot speak for it, but if it wasn't for quick action and obviously far better knowledge then the staff at Hop Hospital, my grandfather would be dead. He was ill and in a severe amount of pain in his abdomen.he went to HH 5 days in a row, each day waiting anywhere from 5 to 8 hours to get looked at, Just to be sent home again 5 min later.day 3 he falls on way to HH, and hits his head, they think he is senile and old doesnt know what hes talking about, Day 5 comes, he gets rushed from HH to CGH and doc there find he has severe namonia and a burst apendix. They rushed him in for emerge surgery and removed the apendix and an abcest that was right beside it.they cleaned out infection from everything being in thete for a day or 2 (whenever it burst), and for past 6 day since he has been there hes been slowly recovering back to normal, yes hes been heavily medicated for his pain, so hes been quite out of it. The staff have all been great from what i personally have seen and from what he remembers when we are not there.they feed him, help him move and monitor him hourly, thats all i can really ask for at the moment and those requirements are being met.he doesn't like most of the food they bring him, but he is kind of picky. The nurses have had there hans quite full pastcweek that ive been there, and some tjings have taken longer to get completed then we were originally told.example, was supposed to get ct sxan day 2 didn't get it till day 3, nurse says shes going to get meds comes back in an hour to 2 hours.but i get it, that small area has 30 or so patients at any given time. So id like to shout out to CGH @ ChilliwackGeneralHospital keep up the great work and keep training all the mixed race interns, they seem to have great attitudes towards patients. On that note, if you want to die quickly, head on over to your good old Hope Hospital, the place with no equipment for saving a life.

I’ve visited the Chwk Hospital a total of 3 times.

Twice I’ve had to obtain doctors notes for my daughters daycare (we don’t have a GP or a paediatrician). Both times the wait has been 30 to 60 mins. Staff, nurses and ER doctor (same guy both visits) were all friendly and efficient. I didn’t have to wait the excruciating wait times or pay a fee for a doctors note as you would at a walk in clinic.

My third visit, I had delivered my son via last minute c-section. During my visit I received immediate and intimate care. All the maternity staff were receptive and kind-hearted. I also lucked out and delivered on a “slower day” and managed to get a private room. Since I wasn’t expecting the experience I had, i am so glad to have chosen the Chwk maternity unit vs driving all the way to Abbotsford. Also, this delivery experience is definitely more appreciated and memorable than my 1st in Winnipeg, MB (Women’s Hosp).
