Great day in the water. Tom our guide was great. Taught my son and I how to use a fly rod. Very patient and knowledgeable on the honey holes and the area. Can’t wait to get back to Squamish with chromer sport fishing next year!

I fished for steelhead and bull trout with Pat, with no previous use of a Spey rod. Pat made the day one of the best I’ve ever had on a river. He’s knowledgeable and patient and never once criticized when I’d bust my loops! Pat has the ability to talk knowledgeably on any subject and kept us going in the wind and rain. BC is one of the top destinations for Steelhead fishing in the world, and Chromer Sport Fishing and its guides have the experience to make your trip worthwhile. In April 2023, three of us went after Steelhead on the Squamish River northwest of Squamish (an hour north of Vancouver). We floated from spot to spot and then fished while wading under the watchful guidance of Pat and Tom. Chromer and its guides are the real deal for serious fishers. They also guide in other premier sport fishing areas of BC (if you after a once-in-a-lifetime experience). They go after more than Steelhead, and I am also thinking of a trip to Squamish after Pink Salmon later in the summer (it's a "Pink" year in BC). Check out Chromer's website for dates of the runs and details about other trips that they schedule. If you are reading this but feeling that you are not hardcore enough for this kind of experience, I encourage you to do it anyway. The guides are friendly and patient, and will make sure that you have a good time even if you've never fly fished. And did I mention that the scenery is spectacular? Check out the pictures. Hooking a fish is a bonus.:)

My Father, Sister and I had a great day of Fly Fushing instruction with Yos. We learned about the various pieces of equipment, casting and fishing technique and had many laughs along the way. Although I am an experienced Spin Casting and Drifting angler, I had considered Fly Fishing a little intimidating but after this day's instruction, I feel very confident delving more into this new aspect of sport fishing. I will definitely be following up with Yos and Chromer Sport Fishing for some guiding in the future.

Updated: Finally got to do our father/daughter fishing trip in May 2022 and Yos and his team were amazing. Highly recommend, very professional and customer focused. We started with a mind blowing sturgeon guided trip in the Fraser River hauling in 7 including one monster over 300 lbs. Next we had an ocean salmon charter hauling in 11 over the day. Lastly, we had a float fly fish in the Squamish River with Yos himself guiding - although the fish weren't biting that day, the scenery while we floated and waded was spectacular. We'll be back someday, and Yos will get my business for sure, even though he said my daughter had a better fly fishing technique!

Was so excited to fish with Yos and his guides. I was treating my daughter to a congratulations university graduation trip this month, but.unfortunately the COVID19 virus got in the way and we had to cancel.

I wanted to post a review anyway, as Chromer was so great to deal with. I worked with Greg on our booking and he took the time to customize a 3-day trip for my daughter and I, with 3 totally different kinds of fishing (steelhead & bull trout in the river, salmon in the ocean, and sturgeon in a different river). They even got us preferential rates at a nice hotel in Vancouver, and said they would pick us up and drop us off every day.

I had put a deposit down to save the dates, and it was quickly refunded by Yos when I had to cancel the trip, in a friendly & professional manner.

I will be back someday with my daughter to enjoy fishing with Chromer when it is safe to travel again. These guys are a class act.

As Californians staying in Vancouver for a month, we hit up Chromer to pursue the elusive world of char fishing in the dead of winter as intermediate fly anglers - hard mode within hard mode. Yos, the owner set us up with our guide Jon! In encountering an unprecedented arctic front at the end of 2022 to 2023, the fact that Jon improvised to meet the moment, scouting the waters himself, waiting for the right circumstances despite needing to delay the trip for a week to let the rivers settle is a testament to the commitment he demonstrates in getting us out at the right time and the right gear, and more importantly with the right mindset. The attention to detail, professional tutorship was staggering. Our walk and wade day trip in the Squamish during a very difficult fishing time cultivated our own ability to spey cast, strip and swing, concepts which sets us up for our lifelong pursuit of coastal river fishing. This resulted in our own DIY session in catching our first rare species - the bull trout. The true value is in the transferable skills that will enable us to catch salmon and steelhead in the near future. Given how different this is from our native waters in California, our minds have expanded in growth to appreciate a system so delicate and precious, that we have renewed our view of fly fishing and the art of the spey.

From the beginning, our experience was top notch. Our guide came prepared, not only with high quality gear and a thorough understanding of the areas we'd be fishing, but with the kind of attitude that makes spending the day in the woods with strangers enjoyable. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look, a great guide, and awesome weather made for a memorable trip. We'll be booking again next summer.

It was my first time fly fishing, and Jon's helpful tips and kind patience helped me improve my technique tremendously in just one day! Also saw some remote, beautiful areas of Squamish River. Highly recommend!

Had a great day with Tom in the river around Squamish. I was a beginner for fly fishing and he teach me well. I also did some rainbow trout. Who make me happy. I recomand!

Dimitri made our day! Caught heavy salmon and Ling Cod all day. Lots of laughs, Rod bends and double headers alll day. We left with a life time of memories and a new friendship. We will definitely make this a usual trip with Dimitri. Highly recommend to everyone!

We were fishing a one day drift trip with Pat. We got his name through another guide service located in far away in Campbell, who spoke very highly of the Chromer Sport Fishing Guides. That is a recommendation in itself. We were in Squamish at the tail end of the season but Pat managed to get us into a beautiful snow-belly steelhead. In addition, very nice company and very knowledgeable. We are from Denmark and are definitely coming back for Cohos. Contact Yos and you will be in the best of hands (even though he has Danish roots)

My wife and I spent 1/2 a day fly fishing with Pat Beahen, our guide. We drifted and waded on the Squamish river, experiencing spring fishing at its best. Pat is a seasoned pro, and provided excellent teaching skills, and knowledge not only on this river, but in general helped us with reading the river and how to be a better fisherman. I hadn’t picked up a fly rod since the 80’s and my wife had never tried it. She did well under Pat’s teaching and she was a magnet for fish. Pat renewed my love for this sport and I had a blast. Thankyou Pat and Yos for our day yesterday. Also a big thanks to Tommy Thompson, another great fishing guide for the recommendation to call Chromer Sports Fishing.

Wow, 7 salmon caught and landed! But the count is not actually what really sets Chromer Sport Fishing aside! Its the passion to ensure a great fishing experience. My initial booking was called off due to high rainfall and river water levels so we pencilled in a date 2 weeks later. On the second date, River conditions were good but the weather was very wet. Tom collected me from where I was residing at 7: 30 in the morning with cheerful smile which immediately told me we were going to have a good day together. I opted to hire all the fishing gear and it was of a high standard and Tom provided a superb selection of flies and lures which he ties himself. They were VERY effective, but of course choosing the right fishing location on the day is primary and this Tom did. Additionally the river location had the most beautiful scenery. Tom also provided helpful insights to improving my casting technique which I valued and as well as providing a selection of snacks and water which were most welcome. I will definitely want to fish again with Chromer & Tom when I next return to Vancouver.

I highly recommend Chromer Sport Fishing. We went to fly fishing with Paul and we enjoy a lot the time we spent in Squamish River. Everything was very well organize. We are beginers however Paul was very gentle and kind.

Did a 4 hour river fly fishing course in Squamish this past Sunday with Yos, Tom and Jon. These guys are incredibly knowledgable and helpful for anyone looking to get into fly fishing at any level. They are easy to get along with and offered lots of 1 on 1 time during the course. The passion they have for fishing is really contagious and they have a strong emphasis on conservation and the environmental aspects of sport fishing as well.

Great time floating the Squamish River with Paul from Chromer Sport Fishing and the big one (Coho) didn't get away. The folks at Chromer are very professional and they know their river. I would highly recommend Chromer Sports.

Yos at Chromer Sport Fishing is awesome. My wife and I had planned a fly fishing trip with him in BC. The fishing trip was part of our honeymoon, so we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, my wife and I tested positive for Covid-19 and had to cancel just days before departing for Canada. Although we had made a deposit to reserve the fishing trip, Yos was very empathetic and understanding of our untimely Covid sickness, and was totally cool with refunding us 100%. I greatly appreciate his ethical business dealings and customer service. We will definitely be booking with him next year when we return to BC! This was incredible all around from beginning to end. I highly recommend Chromer Sport Fishing. I went on the full day fly fishing experience and Jon was our guide. Jon was extremely knowledgeable in not only fly fishing technique but fish species and life cycles! Jon was kind and prepared us well for our day's experience. We ended the day feeling like true anglers, having caught and released a number of fish and having learnt to properly cast and fight/reel in a fish. Fishing on the Squamish River with Tom and Jon from Chromer Sportfishing was the experience of a lifetime. These guys really know their stuff, and had all four of our group catching pink salmon within 20 minutes of arriving at the spot that they had chosen. All of our group were novices at casting fly lines with 12 foot Spey rods, but Tom and Jon are excellent instructors and made the whole experience seem easy, even for one younger member of our group who caught his first fish ever during this outing. This was a memorable day of fishing, and these guides are highly recommended.

I had another great day on the river with Chromer. The excursion was very well organized, we were taken to a beautiful spot and all eight in our group caught salmon! I’ve booked them again next month - can’t wait for more fun! Thanks Yos, John and Tom

Amazing day of Pink Salmon fishing on the Squamish River. I highly recommend Chromer, they have the expertise to put fly fisherman of any level in front of fishing even in tough river conditions. Added bonus for a novice like me, a day long clinic on casting, mending, presentation and other fly fishing techniques.

I booked a guided day for my boyfriend and I. Booking was super efficient and easy. We went out with Pat, and although the conditions were tough, Pat got us on some fish. My boyfriend caught one of his nicest bull trout.
The day with Pat was awesome - he worked with both of us on our casting. I had Spey casted a little before this (but wasn’t great) and by the end of the day my cast was so dialled in and I was shooting line across the river. This was my second time out with Chromer, and will definitely be booking another day! 11/10 would recommend! Such a pleasure to fish with!

Just excellent service. Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip and ask for a refund. We received a refund quickly and the process was very easy. This was a constant during the whole process, they promptly replied our emails and addressed all our requests and concerns.
I will certainly book with them again in the future.

Everything about the day was great. Our guide gave the newbies in our group (including me) helpful casting lessons, the rental gear was high quality, they kept us away from the crowds and we caught some fish!

I’ve done two Squamish River trips with Chromer in the past 12 months and I will do another in April. On the weekend I did a Spey masterclass with a Canadian champion and then a drift down the Squamish the next day to put the learning into practice. My casting is 100% better. An excellent day on the river with Pat. The scenery was spectacular and to see so many eagles was an unexpected treat. Pat's guiding was excellent and he put us in some great spots, and we had a lot more action than we thought for a day winter fishing. To catch two beautiful bull trout really was the cherry on top. 4 of has had a full day drift down the awesome Squamish River with 2 fantastic guides.
I have been on many guided trips and all have been a good experience but this particular trip was one notch above due to it being my first drift and the enthusiasm and knowledge of the guides Yos and Pat. Even though we are experienced fishermen we all learned new things that day from our guides.

The weather was beautiful and we all hooked multiple fish. The fish in this system are strong and they challenged our fly and spey rods.

Yos and Pat had multiple rods and other equipment for us to use if we wanted to try something different. They tied their own flies and leaders for us when we would get snagged up or have fish break off. Absolutely fantastic service on the water that got us back to fishing quickly.

Honestly, if I didn't even catch a fish I would re-book a trip like this with Cromer.
To take in the incredible scenery and wildlife while drifting the river is an adventure on it's own.

Yos and Pat are so in tune with their environment they can at times predict what we may see as we float down the river. Pat was telling me about a black bear that he has seen on many occasions. He even pointed out it's personality. About 1 hr later that beautiful bear stuck it's head over a log and looked at us while we were speaking on the bank.

Thank-you Yos and Pat for an unforgettable day and I look forward to seeing the both of you again in the future.

This was my 4 guiding and outfitting experience with Chromer and it met my expectations. Yos and guide Pat were great. They ascertain conditions were right for us to enjoy our day, which was a fly fishing drift on the Squamish.

Two great days on the river. Amazing sceenery just can not be beat as the backdrop to a fantastic experience.
Day one was a bit slow on the bite, but that was good for casting coaching and practice to learn the propper way to Spey.
Day two was good to reinforce the casting and make some refinements, then use the new skills to hook in to some nice fish.
Overall Pat went above and beyond, keeping us busy fishing. He had all the best flies and was ready to change whenever things got quiet.

Given the river conditions were not ideal for our day, the guide arrived at out meet spot early to scout conditions and potential fish. He then suggested we should do a short drive and walk to a different spot that could be better. It turned out to be awesome. This is one of the reasons to go with Chromer. To find and catch the fish, all in a safe, smooth and satisfying way. We had a great day and wonderful guiding experience.

We had an amazing day doing a raft fishing trip on the Squamish river. We arranged our trip with Yos and communication was excellent leading up to our trip. Tom guided us on the trip and we a 10/10 day. We caught fish, learnt new skills and tips, had a lot of laughs, saw amazing local scenery and were kept safe the entire time! Will be using them again for future trips and recommend them without reservation to others!

Unfortunate circumstances forced me to delay, and then cancel my Spey Casting course. Chromer were extremely professional and understanding. I was fully refunded. I will certainly try to book with them again when I can.
