Went to apply for another credit card and the lady working there was totally unprofessional and the managers are not much better. I have now thinking about taking my business somewhere else. Do your self a favor and go somewhere else.

Poor customer service! Very poor! If I had negative stars I would give them.
Yesterday I had a appointment at 11am but surprise! When I got there they took a walk-in at 11 instead (that walk-in wanted to open a new account which apparently is more interesting than my 3rd account with them).
And they never ever accept walk-ins! So how can I understand this?
The advisor asked me to wait for 15 minutes (and she knows perfectly well that opening a new account takes an hour) so I agreed and sat there (15 min is reasonable, even 30 min tops) but I ended up waiting for AN hour, yes, 60 minutes of my day off, ruining my whole day and canceling other plans. Apologies don't get my precious time back. I don't recommend this branch. There is a nice blond lady though, she's a teller, very kind and helpful (Sadly, I don't remember their name).
Extremely disrespectful situation and totally dissatisfied with this bad experience, I will take my money to another bank ASAP.

I'm currently looking at other banks/ unions.for a "Smart" chequing account, they sure charge a lot of high fees. There are better financial institutions and options. Do your research and comparisons. Skip these scammers.

Had a great experience yesterday opening an account with Claudia! Highly recommend going through her as she was patient, kind, and efficient. All of the staff were very friendly while we waited and offered us coffee etc. 10 stars couldn’t have asked for better service.

How it possible that the stuff is still working there? !
I tried to get simple information but they don't know anything only how to force people to get credit!

I would give negative stars if possible. The lady at the furthest counter was terrible today. I went in to deposit some USD$ in my wife's account with her id and debit card. She said "You cannot deposit in someone else's account" which is fair. However, when I asked the for the reasoning (because it is my wife) she said "This is not India"
My advice to you if you are in customer service, try to use less offensive answers in the future. Be polite with all you have no right to hurt someone's feelings.
Afterwards when I asked can I deposite thru A. T. M she said sure go ahead. Turns out foreign currency doesn't work through A. T. M either.

I came back later and a blonde lady helped me who was awesome. I mentioned it's my wife's account she said no problem and deposited it.

Dissapointed with my first experience when it clearly shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. Thank you to the second lady who was able to solve my request without jabbing at my nationality.

Visited the bank on this Saturday, I was surprised they had no tellers on and that they were not able to help anyone in the line. The woman that waited 20 minutes in front of me had four business deposits to do and was rudely told by the teller that did not have a name tag on to not bring more than two at once in the future or they would not take them. I find it hilarious that a bank would not want to take your money.
The lineup was long and painful for everyone there, lots of grumpy customers today for sure.
Three of the customers were raving about the service the get at the Abbotsford location and I have to agree with them.
Some new management might be in order for this branch, not the tellers fault that no one could cover her break!

I have account for 16 years in this bank. And I’m visiting 1-2 times a week. I am considering to close my account because of new teller
She is slow, unkind and rude!
She must learn manners and how to communicate with customers!
I was angry and disappointed

Poor customer service
Very poor service all around
I would say, if you have an account there, take your money and leave to another bank.
I Tried closing an account, that I have papers for, declaring, information needed to close the account
The head guy, told me to get a lawyer to close the account
I have been trying to close the account for 2 years now.
CIBC in town is run with new people, from 2 years ago. 2 years ago, a lady was helping me to close the account, she no longer works there, and the current people, there now, are not helpful, and they give you the run around to gather letters from the government, that I just found out. Don’t exist. It’s been way over 2 years, way too long to close an account. I’m thankful I finally got help from a guy at the BC government service. Who has been trying to locate the letter the bank is asking me for, and now I’ll be getting Legal help.
Because I have all the proper information to legally close the account.

I don't like this bank and teller, too.
I can't get my cash to my bank account, pay $10, and get it by draft check. So even though I said I would split the cash in half, she kept telling me to make a check and got a check fee. It's not a lot of money, but they set such rules and ripped off the commission. Plus, the bank teller is so rude, unkind, and slow working. So I'm going to close this bank account and not trade this bank again.

Friendly staff. Would give a 5 star but they do lack tellers when it’s busy. The Imperial services are second to none.
