Worst branch!
Waiting on the line for 15 minutes with just two tellers working and the branch manager does not care at all. The manager is sitting in the office chatting with a guy!
They didn't do anything eventhough I have complained.

I never leave reviews BUT I couldn't believe it, so here it is! Firstly, I made a appointment to go in and sign my mortgage papers. I work Saturdays so I made the appointment for 9: 30, right when they open. I stressed, not once but three times that I had to be at work in Port Coquitlam by 10: 00am and asked how long it would take. I was told 5 minutes and that the papers would be waiting for me. I get there at 9: 30 on Saturday and nobody knew anything about my papers or even my appointment. They were frantically looking through everyones "to do" stuff to see if they could find them. Finally they got in touch with the original person I had spoken to and they told them where to find them. 20 minutes go by and they come back into the office. I told them the rate that I agreed to and they pipe up and said "well that isn't the rate". I told them that this is the rate I was told as the back office had authorized it. I had to fish through my emails to find the email from the person at the branch (that wasn't there) letting me know that my rate that had asked for is authorized. Then they had to reprint the papers. By this time it was 10: 40am and I was already 40 mins late for work (in Poco - 25 mins away). They told me it was going to take another 15 mins. I told them that I had to get to work as I had a customer coming in to meet with me and to call me when they were ready and everything was in order. 12: 30 they called to tell me the documents were ready. I had to take another hour out of my employers time to drive back out to Maple Ridge and sign the documents. Thank goodness my employer is understanding.

I did the online survey and was honest. The bank manager did call me and compensated me for my expenses which was nice however it's a legal document which I did not end up leaving with a copy of either. I was told it would be sent to me.

3 weeks has gone by and I still had not seen a copy of my mortgage document. I called CIBC yesterday and left a message for the manager to call me. She did call me but was short and didn't even apologize for my document not arriving, after she told me during my 'survey' conversation that she couldn't believe that I didn't receive a copy before I left the branch that Saturday and that she would make sure that I received it the next day. It Never came. How does something as important as a Mortgage document get forgotten. Especially right now with how upset we all are with the exchange rates, you would think that they would be bending over backwards. Now I find out that the rate I was given isn't even competitive as friends of mine just signed a two year almost. 5% less than what I was given.

During our conversation last night there really wasn't any remorse but a "I will email you your documents right now" and that was really the extent of it. I am in customer service and know things get overlooked but from the meeting that Saturday, being compensated which was great, then not receiving something as important as a mortgage document, I was almost in tears I was so frustrated.

I just found everyone in the branch inexperienced and mis-informed. Will not go into the Maple Ridge branch again.

I've dealt with this CIBC location for about 10 years. Great location and great people from the tellers through investment advisors and management.
Highly recommended for all your financial needs.

Thanks for closing the only branch close enough to go to! I can no longer deposit money after 6pm and now I have to drive to Pitt Meadows. Pay for security like the big cooperation you are and stop inconvincing other people.

This has been my branch since 1980 the people there have always been extremely helpful and friendly and I’m very glad that they still have people for tellers so many branches now have only machines which is not helpful when you need help, and yes there are lineups at times but that only tells me they are doing their best to accommodate people.
I still miss Peggy greeting me when I would visit the branch.

Horrible experience today, I came in to pay cash onto my credit card after being told by cibc cc company to do that. The two tellers made me feel completely stupid and said that’s not what they do. I phoned the cc back while still here and they had to speak to the tellers and tell them they were wrong which of course they didn’t like and refused to help me. I had to go to a third teller and get her to speak on the phone to the cc company meanwhile I’m in tears because I’ve never been treated this way or made to feel so stupid by a “professional” person. Finally a 4th employee was able to help but wow what a gong show. There reason for not phoning the credit card to confirm was that it took more than 5 mins and they had to help other people, I’m the only person in here. Won’t be back that’s for sure. Absolutely disappointed by the service here. I wish I had read the reviews before switching over 3months ago. My first appointment was confirmed (to do the paperwork to have my RESP moved over) the next day and they no showed. Then they switched me over to a woman, who seemed helpful, we did the paperwork 2 months ago. I have left multiple messages the past 2 weeks regarding the status and I have not heard back. Would not recommend at all!
