Terrible service! The staff member was leaving and didn’t help at all. Changing my CIBC account to Scotia Bank today!

The African American Bank teller can't even do a bank draft. It took him 40 minutes to do a bankdraft, TD did it in 5 minutes. This is the worset branch ever. Never Coming here ever again!

CIBC is CIBC. They give several schemes with “ * condition apply” that doesn’t apply to anyone. But this bank branch is way ahead of the inefficient attitude and shrugging off the responsibilities and assurances they make with customers.
They do bank jobs, what possibly can go wrong with it? Nothing. What rises their level is with the humane touch and care for the customers that keeps them apart from all other banks so we feel like coming back to them. But I’d like to run away from this insensitive and careless bank.
I made an appointment with Vignesh Raj and met him on March 30th.
I have a non-refundable GIC and I needed it broken and get the money as my wife lost her job and we needed the money urgently for other house expenses and house rent. CIBC phone customer service specifically said that the bank branch can liquidate the money. It is up to them and they do it case by case. I reiterate “they do it case by case. ” I met Vignesh. He showed concern but refused saying that policy has changed so they don’t do it anymore. So how come the phone customer executives told me banks can do it?
He said he will talk to the manager and get back to me on Monday with whatever the result be, yes or no. I left. It’s mid june now and that careless, insensitive bank officer simply disappeared and never bothered to contact me or tell me what was the manager’s decision. Is this called ‘care and customer satisfaction? ’
Very money minded attitude. I told how important this GIC money for us but he didn’t budge. And it was my mistake initially to make this GIC. I was new to GICs. Im only getting 0.25% on market return GIC and 2% on Bonus rate GIC. Their bonus is 2%. Can you even believe it?
Other banks like SBI Canada gives 5% interest for their normal GIC.
I regret opening a GIC in this bank, and I hate this insensitive and careless Bank branch who’s employees don’t know how to keep their words, leave alone the real care for their customers. Shem shame!

Went in to get the pin on my card fixed. Waited in line for 35 minutes while the 2 tellers slowly worked their way though the line going to the door. Finally got to the desk and I was told my problem was fixed o ly to find out 5 minutes later nothing changed. Now waiting in line as I write this and it's already been 15 minutes and I'm half way up. People are nice but very very very slow and their service is hit or miss I guess.

Trash bank.don’t answer they phones, always lines for online bank tellers and irl.they truly don’t care about you or any of your inquiries.i think my disabled granny could provide me more useful advice than these chumps.

Had a bad experience with one of the front desk, poor customer service, not even saying “good morning” or smile, not looking eye to eye contact w/ client, maybe she needs training though.

Very cordial staff. They listened to my concern and helped me in the best possible way. I would like to call on "Pankaj Tanwar" for his exceptional service. He was extremely helpful and made my day.

This my husband’s bank & we both think the tellers are friendly. He has been with your bank for at least 16 years & we both feel that one day out of the week should be open till 6 pm. Some people get off of work at 5 pm.

I'm not sure if CIBC HR assesses this location or not, but they have several of the financial representatives, some of whom can't even communicate effectively and fluently, and they wear perfume like crazy regardless of whether a client is allergic to perfume or not. I'm so sad that I squandered my time at this location.

Home branch, stopped in at 07: 30am to use the ATM, only to find the
door locked, little annoyed with this. I will now have to use another branch
after work, to get what I need, not convenient.

Watch out. This branch does many mistakes and misses documents. Service got a lot better over the past couple years but still please double check everything including information about bank products.

The only benefit of this bank is the fact that it has certain perks that others don't. Perks such as Prepaid Visa associated with an actual bank. I haven't had any problems using it yet. It is a fantastic service. Another service that helps those with a less than perfect credit score. Or even to avoid messing your credit score up. There is no such thing as debt on a prepaid visa. They also sell precious metals online such as silver and gold. Some for savings and investments and some less so and more for either a gift/collectable.

The bad.just off the top of mt my head. They said they couldn't cash a Government issued check. The reasons they were giving me made zero sense.
They tell me they're going to have to put a hold on it etc.well I walked over to TD Trust. They cashed it instantly with no problems. (I don't even have an account there.)

Now, the down side of this bank. And I do mean bank and not so much isolating the problems to the branch on 6th @ 6th In New West. Ive been to multiple CIBC branches. And so far most everyone that speaks with of a bad or unhappy review is likely 100% true. The line ups are very long. Let me be clear, This is not due to an excess of customers but a front counter that has a lack of staff/tellers. There often is only one staff handling (1) customer while everyone else watches and waits in frustration for the moment another booth opens for the other 7 people in line. This is all too common. Speed is not there strong suit. The staff personalities vary from very nice to a little apathetic. The main issue here is simple. Efficiency. Its not there. Please don't make this a chore to bank. I have other options for banking. If you are understaffed hire more tellers. Do something.

This part here is a note directly aimed at the CIBC bank on 6th St.
One day in the middle of summer, You made me late and almost destroyed my entire day, week, and month when I ended up finding out the hard way you lock your atm access at night. There is no way to withdraw your money. I went at 4 am to get cash for the ferry. To no avail. I ended up having to pull out of the ferry line and take money from an atm that charged me to do so. Not only embarrassing for me. But I could have missed that ferry. If you have a security related problem then FIX IT! Don't lock your customers out because you can't figure out how to keep it secure inside. Also on another note. The information that is on file is contradictory of what I have listed. I don't know how that happens. I hope your experience is better than mine. Happy Banking

NOT impressed.supervisor? Mid aged man with dark hair was so rude to me.one teller open and a line up of about 5 people.finally another teller appeared with his mouth full of food.took his time signing in.so not impressed with the front end people.the mortgage people were awesome!

Don’t even bother with this branch. Supervisor is stuck up and won’t bend small rules for long time clients. I had a lot better time with TD, if my mortgage was not with them I would not even bother going in. Not to mention the customer service is extremely bad and it seems like the staff are in pain working in there.

Three visits in two days: line up with one teller. While in line overseen an senior gentleman that visited the branch for the safe deposit box. He was told that the key to the box is not the correct one. He insisted that he hasn't lost a key in thirty years. The staff sat him down promising to find a person that will help him to set up an appointment to get the new key. The story ended that his key was the right one. His time wasted and his level of stress up. What a joke. Totally unprofessional branch.

Honestly, friendly staff but I stand in line for almost 15 minutes every time I come here. It's such an inconvenience
