We had our first interaction with Alex almost 3 years ago and we decided to give it a try. After that was a rollercoaster in the Canadian Immigration System. We could not have done it without Alex’s advice and patience. We are both over 40yo and the EE points were not in our favor. It started with a Study Permit when we met Monir, after that we needed also BCPNP, PR, BOWP, extension study permit and PGWP. The COPR recently arrived and it does nor seem to be true after the long journey. All seems easy now as all were successful; however, it was a road filled with additional meetings where Alex explained immigration terms over and over again, thought of alternatives in case plan A or B did not work, and gave us the time to decide. There were sleepless nights on both sides in trying to get it right and on time; and the applications did not have missing items nor lacked transparency. I’m so happy with the work Alex, Georgie and all of the CICS staff put on my application. I believe my profile was a bit more complicated than usual, due to my age, work experiences, education and etc. CISC was the second immigration firm I used, but I wish I came to them years ago. When starting my immigration plans to Canada, I used another firm and got some very bad advices resulting in at least 2 years of delay. Alex and his team went above and beyond when starting my PR application, fill out complicated documentation (Schedule A), finding out the best pathway for my PR application and so on. After weeks of frustration and numerous phone calls, I was still unable to find a company that I felt confident moving forward with. I found CICS Immigration services and impulsively booked a consultation with Alex solely based off of the positive reviews and a brief conversation that I had with Kirsten. I am so happy that I decided to work with them as I received all of the answers that I was looking for, and then some, in less than 30 minutes. Alex and CICS have been extremely professional, strait forward, organized, consistent, and thorough. I am so relieved that I found a trustworthy and efficient consulting service and would highly recommend their services to anyone on the fence about moving forward with this company.

I had a consultation today with CICS Immigration (Alex) and I have mixed feelings about it. Responding back to a text Kirsten sent me about my consult to take place within the hour, I called her and while trying to clear up the confusion she just cuts me off with "okay whatever so he's ready now so I'll just transfer you". Completely taken aback and upset at the unnecessary rudeness, I thought to mention it to Alex while I was also trying to clear up the confusion with him and I was cut off with the same response "okay whatever, lets just get started because we have a staff meeting coming up soon". At this point, I'm angry and only deciding to continue on with the consult because I had already paid in advance for it. On the other hand to be fair, Alex seemed to be a nice guy and very knowledgeable (once we got past the initial tension). I was actually glad that I stayed on the consult because he gave me some options to consider that I was unaware even existed. He was very helpful and I was glad to have given him a chance. Now, backtracking.the cause of the confusion was the consult email confirmation. The one I saw was for 11: 30PST but post consult I realized they had sent an updated consult confirmation changing the time to 11: 00PST which I didn't see before the consult. So it was 13 mins after 11: 00PST but in addition to believing my consult was at 11: 30PST, I also thought they would call like other consultants do. I was completely unaware that they were expecting me to call as it was not specified in the confirmation email that I needed to do so, unless I overlooked it. All of this led to the confusion and attitude. In all fairness, I think we both can take some responsibility in how this situation played out but there was never any need for the attitude especially when you're talking to a potential client. Hopefully their staff can be more understanding and respectful to their next potential client because in most cases you only get one first impression.

UPDATE: Since the posting of my original review, I've spoken with Kirsten after having emailed her my feelings about my initial interaction with her and Alex. She responded back and extended a sincere apology which is commendable and I appreciate it.

I had a 30 min consultation session with Alex and found it informative and satisfying. Alex is knowledgable, professional, and asked probing questions about my application, qualities I expect from a consultant. I got more value from it than what I had initially expected. I payed the fee because I was trying to get a student permit. They took the money, and lodged the application on my behalf. My application was refused, and I struggle to see exactly why I payed that fee.

The application process was identical to when I applied on my own years prior. This company didn't add anything. It is as though I applied for the permit on my own, but I paid these people on the side for no good reason.

So before you pay anything, make sure you know exactly what you are paying for, and what additional benefit their service brings to the table (if any) as opposed to doing without their "help".
