The staff are so friendly and helpful and there are spaces to recycle almost anything. A very tidy and efficient operation.

I put off going to a recycling depot for a long time because the last time I visited (a different) one the staff seemed inconvenienced by my very existence. So I was not expecting this to be such a pleasant experience.

Most friendliest guys I’ve met in a recycling depot! Didn’t have the chance to get the other 2 gents names (you know who you guys are) but Dave is the guy! I really appreciate you and your team for making my day! Went there at around 4 pm on Monday.

My recycling depot is better than your recycling depot.
Not that I've had much experience with other recycling depots but the service in this place is top notch. You don't go to a recycling depot to expect great service but the staff at this place knocks it out of the park. Always helpful. Many times going above and beyond what is expected of them. You don't get the "Are you stupid? " look or response when you ask a question. The only attitude you get is cheery and helpful. The workplace culture seems very positive and many other business could learn a thing or two from this place

Awesome facility. Everything is laid out neatly, and staff are very friendly and eager to answer any questions you may have. The amount of stuff I've thrown out has been cut down immensely since learning about this recycling depot.

This place is amazing. Thank you to the City of Richmond for establishing and maintaining this place, having it accessible to so many residents for free, setting up a recycling wizard online so I can quickly know what I can dispose there, and hiring so many amazing staffs who go above and beyond to serve all visitors.

Prior to knowing about this place, my family hoarded so many unwanted items that just took up valuable space. After getting a bigger car, we were looking for disposal solutions. This place made it happen. The staff are so friendly and helpful and are not hesitant to help me offload things from the car - anything from small lighting fixtures to SUV tires and deck chairs. What touches me is that they do this for people in every single time I've been there, in all sorts of weather conditions. On a rainy day, I carelessly put a large cardboard box on the ground since I needed it out of the way to dispose other items first. I came back finding the box completely drenched and gross. One of the staffs came out into the rain, approached me, did not mind the condition of the box one bit, and carried the box away.

I also make monthly trips to the location to dispose engine oil, and one of the staffs there came to know me by face, greeting and helping me every time he's there. It's genuinely heartwarming what these staff do to help strangers. Please keep up the good work!

Since all the renovations are complete the depot is very well organized and clean. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

What a great recycling facility. They accept so many items and way more efficient and organized than the Vancouver site.

Is it possible to rate a recycling depot? As a city service and overall service, yes, and 5+ stars! I have seen others comment on the positive attitude of the staff. They are all very friendly, they will offer and give help with questions, advice, unloading, and even advise where to go when they do not take something. Every time I have come here in the last 14 years, they have been consistent in that. I can honestly say that I would recommend some store/restaurant staff that we have met with uninterested behaviour could learn something from the people who work here.
This depot had an overhaul recently making it more tidy and efficient. They used to be closed Mondays but now they are 7 days a week. Clear signage everywhere. I do not remember them taking lightbulbs and batteries before, so used to drop them off at the hardware store close by, but I will bring them here from now on.
Sometimes if I have small stuff, I park outside and bring it in. You can also get replacement blue bins and yellow bags here, but the green bins you need to order online.

The city recently built a cover structure in the middle. No longer need to stand in the rain while you sort through your plastic recycling.

This place is the best! Its organized well and they take almost everything except wood and some harsh chemicals. Very friendly and help staff.

I don't like the new layout. It's inconvenient to drop multiple types of recycling and you often have to do one type, then leave and drive back in for something else.

Clean, friendly service. Dropped off paint, motor oil, old can of creosote, cardboard and plastic bags. Easy and straightforward.

This recycling depot is awesome! Richmond is one of the only cities that I have seen that takes recycling so seriously! I like how now we can recycle plastics, and they're even separated into soft plastics and hard plastics! By plastics I mean chip bags, plastic bags, candy wrappers basically any wrappers! It's amazing for the earth I think and will really make a difference in reducing waste! I hear the plastics are turned into plastic pellets after they're recycled. I definitely recommend coming here to recycle because they make it easy to recycle by putting up useful signs with detailed descriptions and pictures. Happy that Richmond is taking recycling and saving the planet seriously!
