Short and sweet, CNS ultimately did nothing for me in the end, seven month project that turned into 32 months.
Lester Ng is a coward and a heartless liar. Your motto we’re here to help not add more problems to your claim or your life. That’s a lie as well aren’t many of the emails between us back-and-forth and I caught him in all those lies. He did not care about any of my issues I have with the trades it was like I was a pain in his side, even though they put my kitchen together backwards and took it apart just as badly and did a bad job on most of the restoration, including the plumbing in my kitchen three times by different plumbers and three lost appliances due to mishandling. None of that was compensated for. Lester is a insurance adjuster, for whom I’m not certain and without any human empathy. I have numerous emails to prove my review as completely accurate and truthful, unlike Lester. Four months to pay me a reimbursement for a hotel and food, I even purchased groceries just to save CNS money, instead of 21 meals for seven days. 32 months to reimburse me for a $200 painting that was destroyed on the first day of water damage discovery, it was the only tangible item lost and or destroyed.

Cutting my claim short saying that I ran out of time and I didn’t inform them in time to repair everything, which is a total crock. I informed CNS or their Insurance trades arrangement company the second someone screwed up at the house or something was discovered that should’ve been fixed in the first place.
CNS and Lester both turned their back on me when I needed them the most. I now have much dislike, and lost my ability to trust corporations that say they are there for me, the same can go for my vehicle. The company I purchased it from, I don’t know who’s worse, CNS or the company I purchased my vehicle from, it’s a tie, horrible, horrific service from both. It’s like once they have your money they don’t care about who you are after the fact. Thought I was paying premiums to to protect me and take care of me little did I ever think I would get screwed over like I did. Sad part is CNS is going out of business after almost 100 years, purchased by Intact.
Sadly my new policy is with Intact. I sure hope Lester Ng is not my insurance adjuster when CNS closes the doors.
Thank you for basically nothing, nothing but heartache, stress, depression, and causing my dog more harm for his voice box, collapsed, trachea at the end of the 32 months with hundreds of people coming and going throughout my house needlessly. Oliver just passed away two weeks ago on the collapse trachea heart stopped because she couldn’t breathe anymore at heart murmur in conjured congested heart failure, insatiable amount of barking over the 32 months on and off. It was so stupid. I even told Lester one time and that was a problem with my dog and he said onto the next topic please.

With total regret retaining your services. Not to mention by the time I was done with your insurance company nine years later. You had double with my annual premium’s with no claims.

I received a letter that they were closing, that they've notified my broker and to "rest assured. " Good thing I called my broker as they'd not heard a word, so my advice to anyone dealing with this company, you better take action. Zero stars grrr

I am.was a client. Getting a hold of them? Impossible. The number they give you doesn't work. Hangs up on you. The number shown on internet? Doesn't work. Gives a third number. The number you call? No one picks up.

I'm not a client because I cancelled the plan. But now I'm sent a bill saying they are charging me 52 dollars for not canceling my plan but not paying to continue.

These guys are the absolute worst. If you use them as your insurance company I can only assume it's on a dare or you like to suffer.

I can't stress how much less they deserve even a single star. If I could give a. 1 of a star I would STILL be rounding up.

If they think I'm paying them 52 dollars after telling them they aren't my insurance anymore and have phone records to prove it they are nuts. If they try to get a collection company to collect I'll report them for fraud.

And we had a flood from an upstairs neighbour. Took them over a YEAR to get us our money back, with substandard repairs and no contact, which is why we told them they aren't our company any more.

Just avoid at all costs. A lawsuit in waiting.

As an industry professional I find them the hardest company to deal with. From their systems, to underwriters to claims. It’s all bad.

Recently, our town home had a water leak from the ceiling, this was first time happened after 20 years we had this property. We had no idea how to handle this headache situation. Our adjuster Patrick Smith from CNS is super helpful. He is an amazing person, very kind, efficient and very thoughtful. He provided us all the details and guided us step by step and told us how we would expect to receive any kind of services. Due to CONVID -19, it took almost 3 months to complete the work. But during the whole period, Patrick emailed us many times and always made sure if he could help us in any way. This really makes us feel much better. We were very happy to have him as our adjuster and really appreciate the service he has provided.

I can see everyone else review, it sounds like any other insurance review, terrible and terrible.

Here is my personal experience with CNS with a claim we had 10 days after buying a house.

It went well, we had 35 mm of rain in 30 minute and the window well flooded and flooded one room in our basement.

We had extra water coverage because our previous house was by a creek. CNS was not the easiest to deal with, but they were fair and did not make us wait forever, our deductible was high, 2000$ high, but they covered all the repair except for the actual issue (im a plumber, i wish they would pay me for all this digging).

Anyway, I feel like they did a good job and didnt try to get away from the claim.

I would recommend them, if the rate and coverage is right, do your research, we pay extra for this water coverage, if we didnt, we wouldnt of been covered and this would be a negative review because of our own ignorance, I think most people dont read the fine print and therefor all insurance company reviews are awful:)

Really happy we had our home insurance through CNS. We had a small disaster and our adjuster, Jennifer Bullis was a pleasure to deal with. She was quick and attentive, and super helpful providing us with information on what to expect of the claims process. We were thankful we had insurance and were very impressed with the level of service CNS provided.

After a flood in my home, I was told by the restoration company that I would need to have my laminate floors replaced. I chose to use the flooring company that CNS used and recommended. The floor was replaced with an inferior product that has buckled, lifted and separated. It looks terrible! The independent adjuster, hired by CNS, refused my concerns and calls, the flooring company said so sorry, so sad and the worst part was that after numerous calls to numerous numbers, I never did speak to anyone at CNS other than to be redirected to another number! The mysterious " Mr. Fitch" that contacted me by message when I first submitted my claim, assuring me that as a CNS representative, that he would personally deal with any concerns I might have.was always out of the office, or no longer at that office.would return my call ASAP.etc, etc.etc. What a nightmare! I am no longer with CNS, but am stuck with a crumbling floor that has all the qualities of cardboard! They deserve a less than zero rating!
