Coast Abbotsford Hotel & Suites

Great value for money, suitable for business trips to Abbotsford. Rooms are clean, breakfast is included with not a wide variety of food options but enough for the day. Daily house keeping is provided which keeps the room clean all the time.

Stayed here back in August for over a week. Didn’t have the greatest experience here to be honest. I believe they are slowly renovating their rooms - and with luck not on our side, we were put in one of the rooms that had not been renovated. The room was outdated and smelled a bit musty. The bathroom was also not clean. The top of the hand soap dispenser was dirty, there was dust and hair stuck on the walls above the shower, and hair could also be found on the bathtub, shower walls, and also in the sink. I also found a hair on my pillow. The lobby is also super outdated. Front door of the hotel locks after a certain time so you need to buzz in anytime you want to return into the hotel.

We had an incident while staying where the hallways and our room smelled strongly of paint. We realized that someone had spilled a bucket of paint in the stairwell and the fumes permeated the entire floor and into our room. They were in the process of repainting one of the rooms. We had to open the stairwell door and turn on a fan we found to ventilate it. This dissipated over a couple days.

A few positives about this hotel: they have a continental breakfast with limited options (cereal, granola bars, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pre-packaged waffles, fruit, apple pastry), location (close to the highway and the US border), private window view (looked out into some trees), wifi was pretty good for a hotel - streamed videos with no issues. The bed was also one of the comfiest beds I’ve slept on in a hotel.

With the limited options in Abbotsford, there aren’t many other alternatives unfortunately. Hopefully the renovations to the hotel will also extend to the lobby and they’ll up their housekeeping game to ensure the rooms are spotless.

I stayed here for 3 weeks and it was a nice stay, very comfortable and clean room. Very quiet place too. The staff were nice, especially the manager. She was very helpful. The house keeping always did a great job. I never felt unsafe here

Had a hard time finding the fridge and the bed seemed to be on a metal frame that squeaked but amazing breakfast and outstanding staff, great amount of pillows

Rooms were clean. Staff were friendly. Located near the highway with several food options within walking distance. The breakfast was barley passable and could be significantly improved - I opted to eat breakfast at the A&W across the street.

I've been staying here for two nights every second week for a few months on work. The hotel is well situated for where I need to be and close enough to the airport where I don't have to get up ridiculously early to make my 6: 00 am flight out.

Staff is always friendly. The rooms are clean. Beds are very comfortable and the shower is great. The price is reasonable.

Turns out I'm allergic to the soap in the shower so if you're allergic to that kind of stuff watch out.

The included breakfast is the weakest part of the hotel. It's really substandard and the only reason I'm not giving this place five stars.

I wouldn’t go back. Three bedrooms were not clean enough and the gym was also filthy. Everything in the gym that I wiped made the cloth dirty, and one treadmill was so dirty, I gave up on trying to clean the handle that looked like it had layers of Coke spilled on it. No cleaners were provided other than hand sanitizer, paper towels, and towels.
Front desk staff in the late evening could’ve provided better customer service. She said she considered every hotel room there clean after I told her that the first room had white (pearlescent) flakes on the table (against which I was taking precautions because they looked like they could be bed bugs eggs) and the second room came with urine on the toilet seat (pictured, but not the clearest photo quality). The hall smelled. She didn’t take up my offer to show her any of this. Also, that staff member insisted that I don’t need to check for bed bugs because they don’t have any. She gave no reason behind this other than saying she wouldn’t work there if they had bed bugs. This denial of any possibility of bedbugs and checking for them is a red flag for a hotel.
The morning staff was nicer. The breakfast room was clean. Continental breakfast was bigger than I expected, yet it could’ve had more fruit choices. Good to-go waffles, at least if you toast and butter them. No sign of a pool or hot tub despite reviews from four years ago. I don’t like to write bad reviews, especially if I could be identified, but the staff member was defiant enough to leave a bad taste and changing hotel rooms was a hassle especially since it takes more to check for bed bugs since they don’t have bed bug mattress covers and their mattresses looked like they could use vacuuming in the crevices.
Also, I don’t find every hotel this dirty. The Sheraton Guildford had bedbug protective mattress covers, was cleaner than Coast Abbotsford, and even had remote control sealed bags marking their remote controls as sanitized.

Nothing fancy just a simple clean room that was quiet.a little bit of hallway noise in the morning but nothing annoying.you do get a simple continental breakfast included with your stay which was acceptable but not fantastic.i recommend going to Ricky's on the corner if you want a good breakfast.

We were so pleased with our stay at the Coast Abbotsford Hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Check-in desk attendant greeted us so warmly, which was welcome after a long day of travel. We were also pleasantly surprised at the great continental breakfast offerings: delicious coffee (essential but rare), healthy cereals (so rare), good yogurt and great croissants. Checked all of our group’s boxes!

Stayed at the Coast Abbotsford Hotel & Suites for one night from Nov. 26-27,2022.

The bad:
1. There were 4 pillows on the bed, all of them at the very thick and fluffy end of the spectrum. I sleep on my front, and this resulted in a sore neck and back that hasn't gotten better in five days (I'm in my 20s and never have back or neck pain after sleep). The mattress also felt very old; it squeaked and felt partially collapsed. This was one of the least comfortable sleeps I've had at a hotel that I can remember. This includes hostel beds.
2. I stayed in an accessible room (only one available) and the remote control for the TV only controlled the tv box, not the TV itself. This is unacceptable in an accessible room that is likely to have people with mobility challenges stay in it.
3. My white socks were dark grey after about an hour of walking on the floor. I don't expect the floor to be clean enough to eat off of, but I would like to know that my feet will stay clean if I touch the floor after a shower.
4. The room was across the hall from the elevator and the door had very little soundproofing. I was able to easily hear conversations from the hallway.
5. The hotel entrance is hard to find from the road on arrival. Much easier to get into once you know where to go.
6. The area is not pleasant to walk around. It is on a 7-lane wide, poorly lit road which makes crossing the street dangerous. The sidewalks around the hotel are also narrow and poorly lit, and cars travel very quickly next to it. The only path to the road is also painted onto the parking lot - there is no raised or separated path. Overall, I did not feel safe as a pedestrian.

Some positives:
1. The staff was friendly and helpful (font desk and cleaning staff).
2. The room was spacious dust free. The bed linens were also very clean.
3. The Old Spaghetti Factory across the parking lot offers free delivery to the hotel.
4. There is lots of parking available.

To summarize, I would not stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to a friend.

Great for one night, staff were super friendly, nice sized room, comfy bed and linens, decent bathroom amenities as well. Was nice and close to the concert venue and also Costco gas for the drive home!

So I came to abby for a concert I got home about 12am. I went into the elevator at 2am to get pizza. When I stepped in a stepped into an elevator full of vomit I left and came down the stairs. When I came down I let the lady at the front desk at 213am November 27 sunday. That I stepped in puke. She told me to take the stairs next time (which I obviously did) and that we have noise complaint (which we never heard of and we were watching a movie) and when we called and asked to a speak with a manager she said for us to go to bed. And to stop talking. Awful staff.
