Coast Bastion Hotel

I'll stay here pretty much every time I come to Nanaimo for work, it's a reliably good choice. Close to restaurants and shops, plus with a decent gym, it makes after hours a pleasant experience. The rooms are getting spruced up, so I can't wait to check out the finished product- I just hope they keep the couch by the windows - the views are are so interesting! The staff is friendly and the restaurant has great hours for someone who works (can get an early breakfast or later dinner).

Stayed in the king suite with ocean view and it was fantastic. Clean room with amazing view of the bay. Super friendly front desk staff and an easy and convenient check-in/check-out process.

Minnoz restaurant went up and beyond on customer service. Michael the restaurants Manager made my partner's birthday a truly wonderful one. He asked I not tell everyone what he did but all I can say is that made our delicious Prime Rib dinner all the sweeter. Thanks to Natasha as well.

Stayed here for 2 nights on my trip to Nanaimo. I was absolutely exhausted the first night and was so glad to find a huge comfy bed in front of me LOL. The room had everything I needed, bathroom has all of the shower essentials. The location is super convenient too; just a few steps to nearby cafés and shops in the city! I had lots of fun café hopping from this location

The staff here are excellent. The manager Dave is awesome too. The room was fantastic and the views were spectacular. If you are coming to Nanaimo or if you live here and want a real treat, book a night at the Coast Bastion!

First time staying in a hotel in my hometown, and was a great experience. We stayed Aug 2020 so it was quiet (covid suppression), so cannot judge the restaurant, but the rooms were clean with a great view of the water. It's a standard hotel, but 5 stars means its a good setting with no problems. Parking for us was in the adjoining public parkade, which had a tad less security, but was accessible well enough.

The restaurant prices are aimed towards billionaires. I wish young people would take the time to get educated about Canada pension plan.

Nice room clean. Like most any other hotel room. Parking is across the street didn't like that. My room was next to the outgoing vents very loud. Don't really like hotel rooms myself. Friendly enough.

I would give zero but cant. No where to eat dinner or lunch as the restaurant is closed I understand covid. But other places in nanaimo are open. Sadly I think they are done.

I have stayed with your hotel many times but Firing 50 employees 1 week before Christmas!? SHAME ON YOU! I will never again use any services your company offers. If you treat your precious employees this way I can't imagine how you treat your guests.

Stay anywhere else. This Hotel just terminated 30 employees 7 days before Christmas. No need for that type of business.
