Coast Fraser Inn

Have stayed at the Coast a fair bit, making for a decent description:

Great location, the Coast has the best view of the Williams Lake area (facing Westwards), but if you face East, enjoy the view of the parking lot/highway. Unlike say, the Sandman, the Coast isn’t in the downtown core- it is just above it, so it makes for a more pleasant experience in terms of avoiding watching homeless people fighting or having your gas siphoned.

I always find the Coast’s rooms clean, the staff do a great job of cleaning, and also don't leave laundry bins cluttered up in the hallway (unlike the Ramada). There is also a very functional and effective ice machine on the 2nd floor- the Sandman’s is totally useless in comparison.

It's also nice that the Coast is joined with Boston Pizza, as BP is better than Denny's (The Sandman Hotel's neighbour restaurant), and thanks to BP/Coast's architecture, it doesn't overwhelm you with its fragrances (again, unlike the Ramada's Indian restaurant- which you can smell throughout the entire Ramada hotel). BP’s will deliver to your room as well.

The Coast features a hot continental breakfast, which probably won't win it any Michelin stars, but is a treat when compared to no breakfast (Sandman), or the continental breakfast of the Ramada- which is awkwardly placed overtop of previously mentioned Indian restaurant in the morning. So powdered eggs, microwaved sausages, bacon, and hashbrowns, plus the usual other stuff, in a dedicated breakfast room.

I find the staff friendly, and it is a treat getting to know them better over time. That Danish is so styling!

The only thing that is disappointing about the Williams Lake Coast Hotel is the state of their fitness area. For roughly 2 months now the Hot Tub has been out of commission (which by the way the Ramada also can claim for even longer), and the fitness area next to it features 4 dumbbells, 2 of which actually match. There are 2 treadmills and a stairmaster as well, which are fine, along with mats you can lie on. It’s not a very inspiring scene, with the tiny din of classic rock constantly playing from behind the door of the hot tub maintenance room.

My hope is that the fitness area will be improved so that the Coast’s lodging price can be more justified. Thanks for your time!

Best hotel in Williams Lake, breakfast clean but nothing to write home about, Boston Pizza downstairs too expensive for what you get. Room clean, dated but clean and that important and what makes this place the best in town.

The carpet seems old and dirty. The hotel structure is very old and does have that smell in the air as well the tub felt dirty I guess because it’s old and has that yellow tint to it because it’s a plastic tub. The breakfast during my stay made my stomach hurt so much, it seems like it was passed or they had it in the freezer for a very long time. The old lady that works in the breakfast lounge isn’t very friendly. The receptionist is not attentive nor is she polite, didn’t even say anything when we checked out like a “hope you travel safe or how was your stay? Or a please come again. ” Only the cleaners are nice. The location is on the highway easy to find but far away from the main town to grab food or wonder in a walking distance, so we had to use the car to get around.

I've been travelling to Williams Lake every other weekend for 8 months to attend classes @ TRU & the coast Fraser Inn has definitely been the most comfortable place to stay.

The staff b.o is so bad the hotel smells like b.o worst place to stay at! Like take a shower or something

Great service from everyone, the rooms are always clean and quiet. I spend a few nights at the Coast Fraser Inn every month and I have always enjoyed my stay.

Awful stay! Everything was old, dirty, stained, and nasty. Room smelled very musty and a bit like smoke. Our duvet had stains on it that looked like blood. When we asked for a new blanket the front desk clerk argued that it couldn't be stained like that. After showing her pictures on our phone she finally gave us a new blanket.
Very uncomfortable beds and old scratchy blankets. My kids slept on the pullout and it's the worst one we've seen, all metal springs.
Had to ask for light bulbs for the lamps as there were none. Was initially told that only maintenance could get light bulbs in the morning? Eventually they found some for us. Just a gong show from start to finish, will never stay here again.

The front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was decent, did it feel the cleanest, no but that was most likely due to some things being out dated like the carpet. The carpet was probably also the reason it had a slight smell of smoke.

Don't waste your time. Very dirty, terrible service, poor linens, uncomfortable beds, no light bulbs, ice machine didn't work, hot tub out of commission, AND under major construction everywhere.

Terrible customer service. For $600 for 3 days, I will never stay here again.

OK, so I have stayed in this hotel twice in the past few months while travelling between northern BC and Vancouver, and I have to admit that I'm a bit confused when I read all the negative reviews. I was beginning to question myself about whether I was actually staying in the same hotel as the writers of the negative feedback.

During both of my stays, we found the hotel and rooms to be clean, the location was perfect being easily accessible yet quiet, the breakfast buffet was great, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful.

Our latest stay was in April 2023, when a fire occurred in the adjoining Boston Pizza restaurant at 4 am, but the calmness of the hotel staff handled the situation with amazing professionalism. Special accommodations had to be made for the morning breakfast buffet due to restrictions put in place as a result of the overnight fire, but hotel staff went above and beyond to make the breakfast work including extending the breakfast time to allow people to be able to sleep a bit longer after returning to our rooms when the fire was extinguished.

The room was disgusting the pictures on the walls were sideways, there was a sock in a lamp, holes in the wall, garbage everywhere, sus brown stuff on the walls, very rude workers, slow wifi, and smells like smoke and garlic

Great location. Easy access from the highway. Rooms are large and had everything we needed. Hot continental breakfasts were decent. All the staff were very friendly.

Room was very nice, had everything we needed. Only thing was maid hadn't finished -a few things in bathroom weren't right and TV on.
Service was terrible. Front desk didn't speak to us, just took our money and went into back room. Took awhile to find the elevator and eventually our room. Also failed to tell us breakfast was included and that it ended at 930, so we missed it and had to go out for breakfast.

The room I was staying in April 6,2022 smells of smoke, I've asked twice to be moved, only for the front reception to be rude, I have my son with me, Im not very happy with this hotel which is sad.

We will never trust Coast Hotel brand name again after this experience. We came in and it was as if someone had already used the room. We had to clean the tub and sink. We had to make our own beds! It's like somebody stayed in this room and decided they didn't want it, and room service did not come back in after them. Somebody has obviously smoked in this room in the past and the remnants still linger it's also potential that a pet has stayed in this room too. We talked to the front desk girl and brought her in to see. The towels and pillows were disheveled like someone used them or cleaning staff just didn't care how they were placed. She told us she would clean it perfectly. She brought in a can of room spray and opened the windows. She didn't bring in cleaners. Room spray doesn't clean rooms! There's actually tooth paste spray on the bottom of the mirror. (on the wooden part)

Walls and roof still have decades-old stucco, curtains and all appliances are dated and mismatched. Beds are old, hard, lumpy and very uncomfortable. Furniture is dated paint is chipped. ÀààOnly had two very small pillows on each bed. Feels like a blast back to the 80s!

For this poor service and dated old room they charged us $165. Do not stay in this hotel! If it's the last hotel in town we suggest you drive on to 100 Mile House or Quesnel!

This is our 16th anniversary trip and I was especially looking forward to this hotel because coast is generally not just a beautiful, clean hotel but also an experience.

Cleaning staff need to be taught how to clean and they need to renovate in order to justify luxury hotel prices. This is a motel six with a nice label. Stay away

Important to note: this hotel is directly across from the Williams lake aAmbulance station. Expect siren!

This place is in a constant state of decline. I have visited this place over the last 20 years. In need of an upgrade soon.

Hotel rooms are not the cleanest seen garbage behind end tables, carpets not vacuum properly.
I got to admit that the Queen size beds are pretty comfortable tho.

Horrible condition and cleaniness. Staff say owner is from out of town and is running it into the ground. The Coast franchise should be embaressed putting their name on this place.

My family and I stayed here last night. We are very disappointed in this hotel along with the Boston pizza attached. Our first room had a cigarette smell and to later find out there was crumbs and dirt in the sheets so we ended up switching to another room. Now this room ended up having hair in the bathtub and gross stains all over the chairs and beds. This hotel really needs to start taking better care of this place and take more pride in their job. I would recommend saving your money and going somewhere else.

This place is a joke, it’s comfort levels don’t exist. Beds are hard and lumpy. I actually slept better in an arm chair. 2 stars is an over rating to what it is
