Coast Oliver Hotel

Rooms were very modern and really clean. Continental breakfast needed more. There was nothing I would really eat. Plain cereal, I’m a multi grain bread, and fruit was a on the old side, not fresh. So I wouldn’t say that. But the staff was really friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay.

The breakfast was pretty good, the room nice but the mattress was terrible. It was extremely caved in on one side and felt like I was sleeping in a whole.

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. My wife and I booked our room for our wedding night to be charged $500 for a mattress with blood all over it which we did not do. The blood stain looked months old. My wife did puke on the sheets which we were more than willing to pay for. The oliver manager was extremely rude to my wife and I and also my mother-in-law. Not only was this a bad experience in oliver but the coast hotels in general. We contacted the head office and emailed our concerns and for months we have not received any emails or phone calls back. Will NEVER STAY AT A COAST HOTEL EVERY AGAIN.

Great location, within a few minutes of driving distance to Area 27 Motorsports Park. Awesome breakfast, great bang for the buck facility. Well maintained, however the walls could use some repainting in some of the rooms. The facility could definitely benefit from having a much larger gym and more equipment however.

Was not impressed with our stay. The room did not feel clean; found countless hairs on pillows and on bath towels. Linen was crumpled leading us to think (with the hairs) that they may not be clean. Each bed had only two pillows and the bed was too soft and left us with backaches the next morning. There were 'smudges' on the headboard of the bed and it was gross so we actually used lysol clean wipes to clean our sleeping area. Thankfully we brought our own wipes for the room because when we tried to use the bathroom, we noticed stains around on the floor in front of the toilet bowl (drips likely left from previous customer). We cleaned the bathroom floor as well because we didn't want to be walking barefoot on such gross floors.

Overall, incredibly disappointed with the sense of `dirtiness' or `uncleanliness' of the room and bathroom. When brought to the attention of the hotel staff, we were told that maybe the hairs were from staff (which from one look we could tell it was not). That also does not explain why the bathroom floors had urine stains that had not been wiped clean.

Quiet rooms, nice hot tub, laughable exercise room, and half decent breakfast with microwaved sausage and eggs. The service is sub par for the price - don't expect bath robes for the pool, more than 1 glass in the room or good coffee.

My family and I stayed here for 5 months while our house was repaired and just left a few days ago. The Coast Hotel is amazing! Every staff member is soooo friendly, from the font desk, to the kitchen cooks, to the housekeepers, everyone there was so kind and helpful whenever we needed anything. The rooms are really nice, super comfy beds, the pool is awesome and the breakfast is SO GOOD too. I had a 3 year old there and even had a second baby while staying there and we always felt comfortable. The location is very ideal and lots of parks super close. I will definitely go back the next time we need somewhere to stay.:)

Great place to stay if you are skiing Mount Baldy.the yummy complimentary breakfasts were not your average croissant and coffee - bagels, muffins, hot waffles, sausages, eggs and has browns, yogurt, granola, coffee and juices.just what you need before a day on the hill.they also have discounted ski passes too!

My wife and I recently stayed in this hotel 1 nite. It is the biggest and newest hotel in Oliver.
The room looked clean but upon further inspection the top edge of the tub had some marks in the shape of dark rings (like the ones left by a glass). My wife thought nothing of it. Must be a permanent mark, I mean what cleaner would leave Sonia’s obvious as that. My wife decided to take a wet tissue just to check…and yes, you guessed it… wiped right off.
The hot water was not ‘hot’. Not cold, but not exactly hot.
The elevator had major dust buildup on the ceiling fixture.
The staff were super friendly but the cleanliness and lack of hot water are deal breakers for me and my wife.
Leaving a 2 star review only because the reception and breakfast staff were really friendly.

Do not recommend this hotel especially if you are with a team. They won’t allow anyone to use the eating area to socialize, no loitering in the hallways, if you are talking to loudly in your room before quiet time they threaten to charge your room. Breakfast ran out and they don’t refill it. I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a hotel.
The bathroom in our room smelt like pee and my child found a pill on the floor.usually i’m not one to complain but this was bad and I feel others, especially teams, would like to know a head of time what their stay will look like.

The front desk manager was wonderful and a delight to work with when our daughters original birthday venue cancelled a few weeks before the party. They allowed our guests access to the pool to end the festivities which started at South Okanagan Physiotherapy and Active Wellness Center. They have blocked times for the hockey teams and adults to make the pool accessable to all their guests. The room was clean and their new line of bathroom toiletries are amazing, although I'll miss the Earth's body lotion. With picky eaters, the complimentary breakfast had something for everyone. Every staff member we passed gave greetings to provide a welcoming and at home atmosphere!
You can hop on a part of the KVR trail that runs along the Okanagan channel through Oliver to take in some wonderful landscape and nature scenery.

Our favourite spot to stay when skiing outside of Oliver! Central hotel, great amenities, and pet friendly rooms! Everything you need from the hotel is within walking distance. There is also a great KVR walking trail right behind the hotel along the Creekside. This is a great bonus if you’re travelling with kids or pets. We have enjoyed many evening, walks along the creek in the winter months, beautiful, quiet environment. There is also a dog park just walking distance from the hotel. In the winter months you can take in all the festive Christmas lights. We have been coming back here for over three years!

I am writing this as a Warning to traveling teams to the area, this is not a welcoming hotel to teams and families.
We were there for a Hockey tournament, and from the minute our families checked in we were followed, harassed, and made to feel unwelcome.the pool was closed to "teams" at 8PM, so the second night of the trip the group of 9 and 10 year old's could not go in as we have a planned team dinner, and did not return until just after 8PM.
Breakfast was included, but due to the number of teams staying at the location, items would run out and not restocked even with over an hour left in the service time.
Noise ordinance was for 10PM, this is reasonable, however we were approached at 6/7/8/9 and told be quiet or they would call the RCMP on us, which was excessive.to close out, I am sure there will comments about Alcohol, we were not able to drink as the staff were relentless in trying to "manage" us, that it was not consumed, and all parents were essentially "put to bed" at 10 by hotel staffs constant patrolling the halls, it made the stay untenable.please avoid Coast Hotel Oliver if you plan to attend a tournament in the area, Spirit Ridge is a much more accommodating location for teams traveling to the area,

Worst hotel I’ve stayed at. Room was dirty, drink spill marks all down the walls, sink plugged. Pool is tiny, very crowded after a few kids. There was never towels stocked so had to chase down the one and only employee working. Our hockey team stayed there this weekend and they wouldn’t let us sit in the common area (where the breakfast is held) so there was no where for our team to be together at any point.
The breakfast stopped putting new food out an hour before it was over so go early or you’ll be out of luck.
Do NOT recommend for teams.

Great place to stay. Clean and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again next time.

Service upon check in was terrible, we had to wait 15 minutes before we actually seen staff then when we finally got to our room a window was left open which would be no big deal if it wasnt below zero outside so our room was freezing. Sonething had been spilt on the wall oh and no coffee pot. Lol. Maybe someone was having a bad day this happens but we will never stsy there again.

We stayed 2 nights. There were black smudges on the walls and in the bathroom. There was a spot of blood on the bathroom door. I know it is hard to find staff right now. Have your staff slow down and make sure everything is clean.

We are very impressed with the Coast Oliver hotel. It is a bright, clean, and welcoming place to stay in the very heart of wine country, and it's location in town means that most shops & stores are a very easy walk to get to. All the staff there, and especially Lilly, were friendly, courteous, and helpful. Our vehicle broke down during our stay and we ended up needing accommodation longer than we anticipated; Lilly went out of her way to find us a room with them at very short notice and helped us a great deal with making other travel arrangements while we scrambled to change our plans; thank you Lilly, and thank you everyone at the Coast Oliver, we will be back next year for sure!

Room was great, bed was comfortable. Wish the breakfast was more than just granola bars muffins and coffee tho, was disappointed

Friendly staff, beautiful rooms great amenities. They accommodated our pet too which was so awesome as we were evacuated and we had no where else to go. Staff were super kind and helpful.

2 years in a row.our sons love the pool, and that's all that matters!

Our party booked 2 rooms here Friday July 9 and had an excellent stay. Staff were all friendly, attentive & helpful. The night front desk guy we interacted with the most, was accommodating and knew the little courtesies make a difference. Rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

Been waiting an hour to check in now. There's a line up out the door, the phones ringing off the hook and only one brand new front desk worker. No management to help her with any problems including the reservation of ours that was lost. I feel so bad for her. She should quit as soon as possible if this is how Coast treats their staff.

Still new feeling (2 years operating) hotel in a great location for exploring wine country. Also in a good location next to the OK River bikeway and some good, nearby local businesses which we enjoyed (Big Al's Bakery, Firehall Brewing/Bistro). Staff took good measures regarding pandemic and were helpful. Nice to have breakfast option (once it can re-open).

Friendly service desk though the room wasn't as clean as expected. We found the carpet has sticky area when walking on as well as piece of chocolate under the bed.

I haven’t even entered the hotel yet, just parked my car to offload my luggage and the security man there tells me in a very rude manner that my car isn’t allowed to be there! Extremely rude! I asked him where the no stopping sign was, because there was none! I also asked him why he only told me about this and not the other three cars that were parked there? And he obv had nothing to say! Clear discriminatory behaviour!

I was extremely disappointed so I asked the gentleman at the reception about this rule, and he also didn’t have answers to my question. But the gentleman at the reception was very helpful and calm! He was apologetic and offered all his help! Great service by him! Thank you!

The hotel itself is very clean and nice!

Hotel did very well taking care of a full house, during COVID and a baseball camp of young boys and supporting fire fighters.

Considering the price I was paying, the quality was horrible. The room was small, no space for anything other than the bed, there were strange smells, and I found a dead cockroach in the room. The one redeeming quality was that the staff were super helpful, if not very knowledgeable about the area. I happily found Shiraz Villas in Osoyoos and was able to stay there for the same price.a MUCH nicer hotel with friendly, knowledgeable staff. So much better.more knowledgeable people and beautiful surroundings and big rooms etc etc. I highly recommend Shiraz Villas over a Coast hotel!

Clean, newly renovated rooms, comfortable beds, fresh smell, quiet AC. I had a 2 queen bed room, 4 people, everybody enjoyed.
My favorite part, and the decisive factor was that there are Tesla chargers with easy access right inside the parking lot, no valet necessary. It allowed me to start the day with a full charge, getting me all the way to Vancouver.
Plenty of food choices around the hotel. Subway right across the street, 2 minutes walk. Tim Hortons less than 5 minutes drive, grocery store right next to it. Lots of local restaurants.
Lots of things to do, cherry picking less than 20 minutes drive, wineries all along the road all the way to Kelowna and beyond. Even driving around, photo shoot opportunities everywhere.

Thanks for accommodating us after cactus tree Inn screwed us. Amazing staff at the front. Clean rooms followed all covid procedures. So glad we came to you guys. Will recommend all my friends and family.

Waking up to the stunning vista of the mountains, river, and greens is such a great way to start your day at this hotel! It's in a quiet area and doesn't give you that busy and hectic atmosphere. We stayed here this week and I'm impressed with how friendly, accommodating, and nice the staff are, especially Abbey, Chaman, and Rita who were all exceptional in their dealings with us! Everything in our room was clean and neatly arranged. There's full bottles of lotion, shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and cups in the washroom. Albeit the free breakfast isn't available due to Covid-19, you can still grab a cup of coffee or tea and fruits in the morning. Overall, our family of four had a good experience with our stay here and would definitely book again if we are visiting the area in the future.

I had difficult time at this property. My room was unsterile. A long black hair was folded into my bathroom towel, and the handle of the pump-hand soap was black with dirt. This was unsettling. As an older person with a preexisting condition for serious case of COVID-19, I've been trying to observe all of the public health guidelines regarding the pandemic. The hair and the filth made for an uneasy sleep after a 12 hour drive. Incidentally, I didn't receive the bagged breakfast that was promised upon booking; instead, I was directed to an anti-masking bakery on Main Street. This was the background on which I was listing to a representative from the Hotel industry arguing from a taxpayer bailout on the CBC.

The cleanliness of this hotel is Meh! I always check the bedding as soon as I get to the room! Look what I found
We complained to the frontdesk they gave us some lame reason but heard us out and gave us some additional discount on the room rate.
Overall the experience was ok. Staff was helpful when they wanted too. Also the hotel was full and I think they were short staffed.

Great stay. The rooms were clean and the hotel looked new. Because of the pandemic they didn't have a breakfast but offered coffee and tea and didn't have housekeeping. There was a discounted rate to account for a little less amenities. The pool and hot tub were open by appointment (1 group at a time). The location was great, right next to a long bike/walk trail that runs along the river. And also biking distance to a few wineries. Staff were very friendly and helpful getting our bikes in and out of their storage locker.

Very clean, friendly staff, comfy beds. My only negative was the breakfast bags were pretty sad.

This has been my second visit at the Coast Oliver Hotel, and it has been great.

While working on the road, you come to stay in plenty of hotels and motels. This is the best in the area, hands down. Very clean, modern and updated. Staff are very friendly and caring.

The only thing that takes away one star is the reusable soap, shampoo and conditioner. They are pump bottles that are left for guests to use, in these COVID times, it would be wise to have sealed, disposable soaps as I can’t trust what’s inside a bottle you can unscrew, and that is left for multiple guests, I had to go buy my own for this reason.

Also, another star taken for the bagged breakfasts that consist of a tiny “gas station” muffin, a piece of fruit and an orange juice box. I figured with the amount spent on hot breakfasts before, they must be saving massive costs by providing sub-par bag breakfast. Improve on this guys!

Other than that, it’s a pleasure to stay at this establishment.
