We recently went fishing with Coastal Blue Adventures. The boat is super clean and setup mint for fishing. It was awesome how quick it was to get from the airport to the marina to the fishing grounds. Pete was everything you could hope for in a guide. His passion, knowledge and experience, made for a successful trip, much respect. Thanks Pete and Shannon for showing us a wonderful weekend, and sending us home with some fish for table! We'll be back!

3 generations had a wonderful day on the water today with Costal Blue Adventures. From arranging the gift, to booking (and rebooking when a medical issue necessitated a date change) Pete and Shannon were amazing to deal with. So friendly, welcoming and patient. Pete is a knowledgeable capital and fisherman, the boat comfortable for all. And the FISH! Expert to novices would have a wonderful time on a Costal Blue charter. Pete and Shannon… can’t thank you enough for the memories my boys will have of today fishing with their Grandpas!

Adventure of a life time! My family and I travel quite frequently and have never experienced such an all around amazing trip! Not only did we get to catch some insane fish my little boys (aged 3 and 5) got to jump off the boat into the ocean for a swim! And too top the day off we got to see the orcas up close! Words can not describe how perfect our day was! All thanks to Coastal blue adventures!

We had a fabulous afternoon of fishing with Matt, our most excellent guide. Matt made sure we kept busy reeling in salmon all afternoon! The boat was beautiful, and Matt was super personable, helpful and patient. He filleted and packed our catch for us as well. My first time out with Pete from Coastal Blue Adventures was a few nights ago with the NDSS Wilderness class. I’ve never had such an amazing experience fishing, as I did with him. The amount of knowledge Pete has is incredible and it sure showed when we were catching fish non stop throughout the trip. Pete was also very kind, personable, and helpful with me and the other students who aren’t as familiar with salmon fishing. I’d highly recommend Coastal Blue Adventures if you want a life changing experience on the water.

Had a great day out with Matt and even with some tough weather conditions he made it an amazing experience.
Caught some great sized chinook and learned a great deal about salmon fishing too.
Highly recommend and would definitely consider returning back when the chinnok can be retained!

I could not recommend this company more. They were more than accommodating working with us on a schedule change before our trip. When we got out on the water, our only complaint was sore arms from constantly having to real fish in. We lost count, but we landed well over a dozen Chinook with the biggest being approx 25 lbs and a hell of a fight. The other treat was a pod of 5 Orcas that passed near our boat and gave us a bit of a show. Our guide Matt was friendly, knowledgeable and great company. Thanks Matt!

Terry and I had a great day on the water with fishing guide Peter. A couple of nice ling cod for the dinner table and several beauty Chinook which were successfully released (season). Peter's knowledge of the local fishing spots, depths, tides, solar/lunar effects, weather conditions, bait and lures and all of the other variables, help provide better opportunities for active and successful fishing trips. Catching fish, great conversations, laughs and learning more about the sea and fishing all make for a great day on the water. Thank you Peter and Terry for an active, fun and pretty day! P.s. The cod dinner was amazing)

Pete is amazing! One of the best fishing experiences with a guide EVER! Pete was professional, and still fun, while taking the time to teach and encourage the group (4 high school students) the ways of jigging for salmon. Do not hesitate when looking for a fishing adventure, go staring to COASTAL BLUE!
PS: it was non stop action and smiles!

An amazing experience for two brothers fishing for the first time on the ocean. Pete was a great guide, with great knowledge and a good sense of humour. We couldn’t believe the amount of fish we caught.

The best time you will ever have!

I have been on may charters and Coastal Blue Adventures was the best charter I have ever been on. Captain Pete is an absolute legend! He is very knowledgeable, fun and a really nice great guy. I was on a fish the entire time and brought home plenty of beautiful salmon, in fact we caught so many that I could pick and choose which ones to keep! I will definitely be back to fish again with Pete on his immaculate boat.

Pete is an absolute legend. Super easy going, calm and gracious. Can’t imagine a better captain and guide. His boat, “for Pete’s sake” was immaculate, comfortable and had all the modern technology and amenities anyone could ask for. More impressive than all of that, Pete really shined under pressure. When my brother accidentally dropped the fishing rod in the ocean, Pete saved it! When my brother lost his drone in the sky, Pete took over controls, found our boat among 50+ others and safely landed aboard while the controller was screaming low battery at him the entire time.

To cap it all off, he prepped our trappings for us so all we had to do is throw them on the BBQ.

If you’re in Vancouver, I highly recommend parking your car in Horseshoe bay and walking on the 1: 00pm ferry to Nanaimo. For Pete’s sake is docked a mere 5 minute walk from the ferry and ready to take you on an adventure of a life time.

The best charter you will ever take!

I did a charter with Coastal Blue Adventures with my dad and father in-law in Nanaimo not expecting much because of our experiences over the years with other charter companies. From the moment we booked the charter the boat captain Pete was amazing answering all of our questions and keeping a line of communication with us to provide weather updates.

The boat is a beauty! Like Pete said "its a luxury fishing charter". I stayed dry and warm while we took turns reeling in the fish. There was plenty of space for all 4 of us.

Pete had all of the best spots picked out and the best part was that they weren't hours away from the marina like the other charters we took. We ventured out about 15-20mins and we were in a prime fishing spot. Every time the rod went in the water a fish was on the hook within seconds. We were fishing non-stop the entire trip and it was amazing. Pete is incredibly knowledgeable, you can tell he loves to fish and does it well. He got us pumped up and gave us tips and helped us when we needed it.

The service and knowledge that Pete provided was first class! Pete even filleted, vacuum sealed, and delivered the fish we caught to our hotel in a foam cooler for us to take home to Vancouver. This was hands down the best charter that we have ever taken and will we be back next week and next year to fish with Pete!

We had the opportunity to go fishing with Pete this past weekend, it was awesome. I had family out from Ontario and this fishing trip was a highlight of our vacation.the boat was roomy and comfortable Pete was very engaging including us in every aspect of the fishing trip. If you get the chance to Fish with Coastal Blue Adventures I would recommend it.

Great adventure, nice salmons, action all along the day. The guide, Pete, is courties, he have a great experience, give good advice, a real smart guy. I will remember all my life.

We had a great afternoon on our fishing charter. Captain Pete made our afternoon very enjoyable and relaxing. We caught some decent size salmon which we cooked up for supper! We would definitely recommend this charter to others!

What a fantastic way to spend a day! Pete made fishing so much fun, for both the novices and more experienced members of our group. He got us set up and then let us bring in the fish (which is code for "he did all the hard work and then let us do the fun part").
The boat is perfect for 4 people. Enough room to be in the thick of the action if you want to be, and space to get out of the sun when needed.

Great day with Captain Pete! The 4 of us had lots of room on his flashy new boat, lots of fish landed, and a few nice keepers that were baked up and made into fish and chips yum yum. Pete's knowledge and wit made for an awesome day, highly advised to get out on the water with him!

Had a great day out on the water with Pete hunting for Salmon. For a day with close to 20 knot winds, and that leading to decently choppy water, Pete made sure we felt comfortable and safe the whole time. Laughs were had and of course plenty of hook ups! This charter company offers their customers an amazing, personable, and fun-filled trip! We were amazed by the amount of fish we caught and the expertise of our leader Pete!
We even caught a “baby shark” and we got pictures before we released him back into the ocean!

We had just an excellent day out with 15 chinook in the boat! Biggest one was 30 lbs! Pete was excellent with my 12 yr old nephew - he patiently taught him how to reel in some big Springs. Pete is knowledgeable and knows where the fish are! Thanks Pete!

Aug 30,2020 my son (6) and I had the experience of a lifetime! We caught a beauty 94 cm chinook that had to be released but eere able to limit out! The awesome trip ends back at the dock where a family of seals feast on what is left over from pete's beauty filets. First class all the way

Had an incredible fishing trip with Pete! We went out for a evening fish & within the first 30 minutes of dropping the lines we had already caught two huge salmon! The boat was clean and comfortable. All the gear was high quality & there was no issues! This was my first time on a fishing charter & couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Captain Pete was great. Knowledgeable and patient. We had several bursts of activity on the rods throughout the day because Pete was actively tracking and hunting fish with his impressive setup. Great experience and will have to go again.

And I doubled my lifetime catch in one day.
