We have had several service calls for our heat pump which Coastal installed two years ago. They were on time for every appointment and and completed the job in record time. All of their employees are courteous, cheerful, respectful and very helpful. They made sure that we knew how to operate the heat pump and they gave us some very helpful hints. I highly recommend this company.

I am thoroughly impressed with the service I receive from Jay at Coastal Energy. We had an issue this past weekend due to a non-compatible thermostat. Our heat went out Friday evening and dropped quickly. He came by the following morning and fixed it immediately. From day one of our dealings with Jay, he has always been extremely responsive no matter how busy he is. He takes the time to clearly explain the problem and how to avoid it in the future. Paul also followed up and explained in more detail how the heat pump works. We are from Alberta, so the heat pump is a very foreign concept for us! It's extremely comforting to know that if we have an issue in the future (no one wants to be without heat!) that they have our back. I would recommend Coastal Energy to anyone and will definitely be using them for any service needs.

We had Coastal Energy install our ductless Heat Pump this past November. It was an excellent experience and we’d recommend them for anyone needing Heating and Cooling updates or service work.

Loving my new central heat pump. The install was quick and easy. It has been rrunning for about 3 weeks now, and it looks like it is going to cut my entire electric bill in half vs my 27 year old resistance electric furnace. By my estimate it is using about 1/3 of the electricity the old furnace did. But more importantly, it is a much more consistent and comfortable heat. No more 3 degree swings, the new heat pump maintains a precise temperature 24x7, making thw whole house noticably more comfortable. The timing was perfect, as we just got a few days of below freezing weather. It kept up with -5 and -7 lows with no problem at all. It is a big investment, so my expectations were high, and so far they are being met. Thankyou Coastal!

Angelo, Jake and the whole crew from Coastal energy was a pleasure to have in our home to install a new natural gas furnace/ remove old oil furnace.

What definitely would have normally been a multi day job, they squeezed us in and organized multiple crews to come in and ensure it was completed in one day.

Annual Service: The service technician was prompt, courteous, respectful, and efficient. He explained clearly what he would be doing and the slight adjustments he would make. (When in the house he made sure he took off his shoes too).

They installed a ductless heat pump system in our home. They were friendly, professional, tidy and did a beautiful job. They did all of their work as unobtrusively as possible and were finished earlier than expected. They explained the operation to us before leaving The system works well! We have used Coastal energy for years. They have been very professional and organized. We bought a furnace and on demand water heater from them. They are everything you want from a company from accommodating schedules and friendly staff who get back to you quickly and respond to any issues fast. Called during the last heat spell we just had as my AC unit was losing ground. I don't like to be one of those people demanding asap service; and neither did I during this call either, but the person on the other end could tell the system wasn't functioning properly. We talked through the issue and she said she would fit me in that day. The crew was only doing emergency calls on the Friday before the long weekend; which was totally fair. They had me scheduled for quite late in the day but showed up about 2 hours early which was awesome. Knew exactly what to look for and what solution was. Got me squared away with proper AC before the long weekend! Thanks so much!

We were lucky to get a cancellation appointment shortly after I called for a quote. As soon as we met Angelo we could see he knew his stuff. We had two other appointments scheduled with local businesses but felt we’d found our installer with Coastal Energy. We told Angelo before he left that he had our business and cancelled the other appointments. They installed a gas furnace, removed our ductless air conditioner and installed an air conditioning system in two days. The two installers were wonderful friendly guys and worked very hard on our behalf. We’re new to Nanaimo and it was so nice to find such a great company in our area that we felt we could trust to do a great job. The work was done in less than 3 weeks from our quote appointment. Very impressed.

We recently had a new heating and a/c system installed, as well as on-demand hot water. We were so happy with the service provided by Coastal Energy. From when we received our quote until everything was completed - Coastal Energy was upfront about cost, on time, professional and did a great job cleaning up every day. Highly recommended!

A week ago we had a Fujitsu Mini Split system installed to heat and cool the downstairs of our home. From Angelo's estimate to the professional installation we were impressed with the punctuality, cleanliness of the installers and functionality of our new heating system. We now look at our BC Hydro account and compare the present usage with last year's and are pleasantly surprised with the positive outcome.

I was really impressed with how thoroughly the Estimator/Sales Representative took the time to go through our home, discuss and explain options and recommend the best solution. (2 level home on slab). The installer was experienced, very professional, and friendly, planning his work to be the least disruptive to my work from home schedule. The system has performed well through a hot summer and I am sure it will do equally well this winter.

When we had problems in the following weeks regarding the functions on the remote control they had a gentleman come out right away and walk us through. He explained everything to us in a very easy to follow way.

Out of four businesses called, Coastal Energy responded first, two did not even respond. One had a two month wait for repair. I called on Saturday and they arrived on Monday to assess the problem. They showed me the burnt out parts, explained what needed to be done, was respectful and non-judgmental, explained everything in layman's terms. By Thursday the motor came in and they replaced the seized fan motor, only replaced what needed done, I never felt taken advantage of for unnecessary work at all. Jay spent time, re-educating me on the use of the Heat pump at my request. Fast, courteous, respectful, and in the end affordable, which in this day and age is hard to find. Coastal Energy comes highly recommended by us through our experience.

We recently had a gas furnace installed. The installation process went well over a two day period. Thanks to Jimmy and James for a great job. Two minor issues occurred which were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Thanks to Paul for coming out after hours. Thanks also to Becky in the office who helped guide us through the rebate process. Our experience with Coastal Energy was most rewarding and we would certainly deal with them again on any HVAC needs.

A very positive experience. The estimator was so helpful and patient with my 91 year old mother. The installation went very smoothly and the house has never been so warm! Excellent service.

After a couple of years of deliberation, we finally ditched our ancient, kW-guzzling electric forced-air furnace and had Coastal Energy install a Fujitsu ducted heat pump system. Wish we'd done it long ago - it's quiet, efficient and keeps remarkably stable temperature in our house. What they advised us is totally true: "set it and forget it". We had a couple of other firms give us quotes but went with Coastal Energy because Angelo seemed to truly want to design a system that works for our house and was engaged throughout the process. Installation was smooth, quick and professional. We highly recommend Coastal Energy!

First, full disclosure, I know Paul from jiu-jitsu. That said, I'm not one to write a great review JUST because a buddy owns a business, I always shoot straight. In this case, I'm happy to say Paul is as good a guy professionally as he is on the mats! I've used Coastal personally before just to maintain our oil furnace, and they've always given great service. We used them recently to switch from oil to natural gas and also replace our old HWT with a tankless on demand system to take full advantage of the FORTIS rebates, be better for the environment, and save some money on our heating bills. Had a lengthy discussion with Paul ahead of time and he walked me through what he thought would be good for us, product-wise. No upsells, just straight "here's my opinion and here's a few options to choose from". Super thorough explanation as to what he liked and why for our home. Top notch service from Coastal, as usual, during the whole process. The booking and payment through Becky was painless, techs were prompt and showed up both days on time, courteous, finished on schedule, and cleaned up spotlessly (not always the case with some services!). New systems work flawlessly and we definitely notice a difference with our services. Side note, I'm also a REALTOR and often recommend Coastal to my clients, because I know I can personally vouch for their quality. Every single client to date has been extremely happy with my choice for them. Keep up the great work, boys!

Coastal Energy installed our new gas furnace last year and we couldn't be happier. The old one packed it in last winter and all we had was the fireplace and a kerosene heater. They were booked up for the week but managed to fit us in two days later. By the afternoon we were up and running and there hasn't been a hiccup since. Very professional and informative, they even formed a tool so that changing the filter would be easy.

This is a follow up to an earlier review I had written. My initial review was not positive, to my surprise the owner Paul called me to discuss it and after we spoke for awhile he asked if he could stop by, look at my needs and offer a review. This was unexpected and very considerate of him. We meet and Paul was very thorough and professional, had my quote back to me in no time. Although I did not make a final deal with Costal Energy I believe Paul went above and beyond what most would have and I would highly recommend that you contact him if you considering a heat pump system!

We experienced excellent service from Coastal Energy. We followed up on a quote from over a year ago. The same technician attended the job and upon further review he suggested an easier, quicker, cheaper solution to fix the issue. Perfect! We really appreciated the expertise, transparency and friendly service - they were even great with our dog.

We had the the most informative and friendly quote from Coastal Energy (by Angelo), for our air conditioning unit. I was more impressed with them than others than came out to give us a quote, and their prices were lower as well. We had a great install experience for our central A/C. There was a small issue with vibration after the install, so I called them and they were quick to send someone out to fix the issue (within 24 hours), the vibration was fixed. Everything has been working well since May when we had it put in. Coastal also recommended a smaller outdoor unit than other providers, which means less cost up front and less running costs. It works great, cools the house in 2 minutes, and we can't turn it down too low or else it gets too cold. I can't imagine why we would need a larger unit.

We recommended Coastal Energy to some friends who wanted to put in a ductless heat pump. They had a similar experience with their quote, and picked CE as they were the most informative and helpful. They had their ductless installed quickly and are happy with it so far.

From our initial quote from Angelo, to our last interaction with Becky in the office we have been super pleased!
Jim and Dayton our installers went above and beyond in making sure the ductless heads we were installing were aesthetically pleasing as well as going to provide the most benefit in their placement.
We had two other quotes for a ductless system with Coastal being the last quote and the one we went with.
The knowledge was apparent immediately with Angelo knowing exactly what was needed for the best efficiency in our home.
After all was said and done we actually got a refund as they came in under budget! You don’t see that everyday
