I've been there a few times over a period of around 6 yrs. The first time sadly was to have a little 11 yr old Maltipoo named Sami put down due to illness. I have a cat now and we are regular customers. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable.

They were very kind and we're all In awe about my pet rat. Also the vet was gentle with her and helpful. I'll be bring my rats here and other pet more often

We go there with our ferrets and they are wodnerful through the good and bad news. They were perfect when our one baby passed away. They are my favorite exotic vet I've been to!

The vets at Coastal Rivers were nothing short of incredible when they worked with my pet, Sadie! Dr. Megan Monaghan was caring, personal, and attentive to both Sadie's needs, as well as my own. She thoroughly explained everything she was doing during consultations and exams and made sure to follow up with phone calls to help me understand all of the options and requirements for Sadie's best care. It was such a relief to have my concerns about Sadie's health validated after multiple other vets missed an important diagnosis.
When we reached Sadie's last days, Dr. Monaghan and the other vets were caring, compassionate, and treated Sadie and myself with dignity and respect as I processed the difficult loss.
I can't recommend Coastal Rivers enough, especially if you're looking for quality, fear-free care for your pet!

From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, it was an amazing experience! First off they were the only vet hospital in Abbotsford open on a holiday, offer separate waiting rooms so your pet isn't stressed out by other animals, play classical music in the exam room, and genuinely care about your pet, not the money.

Dr. Eric Lawrence and vet assistant, Michelle, really cared about our cat when we brought her in and it was the most thorough exam I've seen to ensure our cat wasn't seriously ill. Thank you for making a scary situation much better - We will definitely be coming back!

I have been taking my pets to Coastal Rivers Hospital for many years now and have always had amazing care! Doctors, technicians, and support staff are attentive, well-qualified, and caring and have gone way beyond the extra mile for my pets and me without exception. They have stayed many hours past closing time and have even come to my home in dire circumstances. They are some of the most caring human beings I have ever met. They are very connected with my feline children and understand them in a way that only special people can.

We have 2 dogs, I got an email for our 1.5 yo dog for vaccination on the 19th can't book her for 2.5 weeks, we adopted another pup that came to us with parvo, she is due for a second shot, I was told to go elsewhere and then they hung up on me.you need better receptionists!

PSA! ALWAYS double check your vet techs/vets dosing. I was asked to come in to the clinic to weigh my chihuahua mix before being dispensed his second dose a flea/tick/heart worm med called nexgard - reception said they needed an updated weight. My 3.5kg chihuahua was now 3.7kg when we took him in to pickup medication. He was still in the same dose range from the first pill. The woman at reception decided herself to give my dog a dose up as she said he was on the cusp. I was not given a dose up but given a dose for a 7.6-15kg dog. More then triple what he should have received. Unknowingly, I gave it to my dog as I trusted their dispensing process. Thankfully he vomited everything up and seems okay. This is shocking and careless in my opinion and should never happen. Cause for concern that this could happen with other medications that could seriously harm a dog. Hopefully management will address this accordingly with staff and whoever’s initials are “JR” on the prescription. As all I got on the phone was “apologies for the mix up. ” They didn’t even ask how my dog was feeling now.

I have been lucky to have such caring and professional experiences with everyone in the clinic.

Our dog wasn't comfortable visiting the vet. Here she was managed with love, kindness and patience. The staff and doctor were amazing.

Best vet I've had, great care for our two dogs, reasonable pricing. And most importantly no pressure or guilt to have expensive tests or dog foods. The vets give lots of information to make informed decisions. I find them very trustworthy.

Coastal Rivers Pet Hospital has been my vet since moving to Abbotsford almost 2 years ago. They have been awesome in so many ways, but most importantly, their friendliness and love of animals is the best!
Today I had the scare of my life while playing with my dog. When I threw a stick, he ran to get it. Unfortunately the stick landed in the dirt facing straight up. My dog ran right into it: (I called Coastal Rivers & rushed there, as blood was dripping profusely from my dogs injury. They attended to him immediately. Thank-you Dr. Megan Monaghan & Coastal Rivers Pet Hospital for awesome care!

Brought our new puppy and our cat here. Prior to the appointment they assured us they would waive the second exam fee (about $90), as we were coming back in 2-3 weeks for the puppy’s shots. They told us they didn’t know about this even though I was told it was in the exam notes (and wrote it in the appt on my phone not that that matters). After us not letting it go, they offered to cover half. Even still, half is $45. We decided to just go somewhere else that has cheaper exam fees to begin with, and more experience as a veterinarians office.

They wouldn’t let us go in because of “omicron. ” They compare a 2 month old puppy to a 3 year old child. I’d never let a 3 year old child go into a dr appt alone. Especially not if the child was just adopted 2 DAYS earlier. No other vet in town of the 12 that I called is refusing to let patients in. They’ve all explained to me they did this back in the beginning of 2020 and found it was too hard on the animals.

We’re going somewhere that puts our PETS best interest first over some cold there’s been a vaccine for for over a year; and a vet that stands by their word about pricing.

Coastal rivers has been our vet for our dogs for the past 4 years now, every experience has been amazing except one horrible time, although that was due to miscommunication and the clinic went above and beyond to make it right for me. That was what was important.they made it right and were extremely sympathetic and kept good communication with me. We’ve seen a few vets there and don’t have a single complain about any of them. As long as we live in the area we will continue to be clients!

Probably best vet clinic I have been to. I take my kitten Pigeon there who came with some on going health issues and they are always thoughtful, reliable, and they regularly check in to see how your pet is doing. The vets, vet assistants, and office staff are great. If you are looking for a vet I highly recommend.

Dr. Jeffrey was thorough and welcoming. I loved being able to be in the exam room with my dog! Down to earth, realistic and took the time to look up her history from the previous vet. I really appreciate their straight forward approach and willingness to listen with an open mind. All the support staff are equally wonderful! And Cricket is NOT exhibiting any adverse behavior after today's visit. I think that's a first! Thank You!

I went on a Sunday morning on a few recommendations for a second opinion on my dogs seizures. They whisked us in and were thorough, kind, informative and helpful. I will be going back for sure with my other pets. I live in Mission and it was well worth the drive.

Took my cat here to get neutered in 2018, and my senior shih-tzu cross is under the amazing care of Dr Bartier. Absolutely recommend this clinic any time someone asks.

Our beloved dog (panda) had cancer and took a turn for the worse couple nights ago. Called our regular vet and they wouldn't take her in for a couple of days. Called many different vets and no1 would see her that night. Coastal rivers was full but still took us in within 30min. Everyone of their staff was amazing and the doctor that performed the euthanasia I cant thank him enough. This guy is amazing. Wish I remembered his name but it was very stressful night for us. Understandably only one person was allowed in for that procedure cause of covid but they have a tented area in the back for multiple person. It was comfortable and perfect for our panda. Big thank you to coastal rivers hospital you gained my respect and trust for my next pet someday down the road.keep up the good work guys.your appreciated

We took one of our snakes here near the beginning of covid for a simple respiratory infection. We had recently moved to the area and were looking for a new exotic vet. The veterinarian at costal rivers told us that he had nidovirus, would not survive, and had to be put down as soon as possible. Having owned and cared for snakes for over 13 years I knew this did not sound right and we took him to another exotic vet right away. One week long course of antibiotics to treat the respiratory infection and he was totally fine.

Over a year later and he is completely fine. Not sure what type of vet confuses an extremely common RI for some type of obscure reptile virus but if you are seeking treatment for your snake or another type of reptile I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Poor service was referred to pet hospital because they take pet ducks and was turned away at the door. I was told to call the emergency line.still no help my duck died im my car. Thanks for nothing

Very very friendly polite helpful and surprisingly the LEAST expensive vet trip we've had,! The doctor explained everything and answered all myvquestions as if she had all the time in the world! I was quite happy overall and would reccomend them EVERY time hands down!

This is a fear free clinic. Even with xovid protocols in place, they are very professional and efficient. Dogs usually hate going to the vet but mine has big tail wags when he goes in. They did all they could to make sure he was comfortable, content and pain free. That.to.me says it all. Thank you Coastal Rivers.

I have been taking my dog here for a few years now and I'm always impressed by the care we receive. Staff and doctors are kind and considerate. My dog's recent dental surgery was affordable but not the cheapest around. However, it is high quality of service here that keeps me coming back!

Fast, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Our regular rural vet was unavailable so we called them in an emergency and it was excellent.
The addition of the follow-up phone call a couple of days later was a very nice touch.

I’m sorry to be doing this but I am a current client with this hospital, I take in fosters/rescues and recently acquired a foster bunny that needs vaccinations and to be neutered before he gets adopted out. The receptionist (bless her soul) said that they can’t take on new pets even though I already have a file set up with them. She said the doctor is booking 3-4 weeks in advance and I said I would wait that but apparently that’s not allowed.

Don’t bother calling if you’re a new client or have a new pet.

Yesterday, we found a cut on our kittens leg called them and they got her in to see the vet within a couple of hours. The vet called shortly after explained the situation clearly and recommended surgery. She was booked in for today and stayed with them over night. Our kitten has been home for a few hours now and I'm so happy we went to Coastal as they were clear and confident from start to finish.

A trust-worthy veterinarian, I recommend. The only fault is that even though you arrive on-time, you will probably be waiting 30 minutes for service. I was turned away when 15 minutes late at one appointment, the irony.

Best Vets I've been to. They are such an amazing team. They truly care about the well being of the animals. I will never go to another vet. Words don't do them justice. Absolutely amazing.

The Veterinarian is good. However the lack of communication in staff is frustrating. Our pup was having very adverse side effects from a vaccine she was given. We called back to the vet several times and none of this information was relayed to the vet. We were finally able to speak with the vet a month later which was how we found out she knew nothing about our pups condition even though we had several interactions with the staff informing them of how she was doing. The vet seems she genuinely cares, but perhaps better communication is needed.

Our one year old cat, Charley, is head over heels about Coast Rivers Pet Hospital. She says that the staff and veterinarians there are top notch and always make her feel safe and respected. I took my puppy here for his 3rd set of shots and am very happy so far. They were very helpful and even let me watch the appointment via zoom.

We are so thankful and will be forever grateful to Dr. Bartier and staff for their compassion, support and care of our beautiful girl, Meeko. Dr. Bartier listened to us and supported us and made sure Meeko’s last weeks were comfortable. After having her with us for over 15 wonderful years, Meeko crossed the rainbow bridge on Nov. 13,2020, painfree and comfortable thanks to De. Bartier.
We also want to acknowledge the thoughtfulness of this clinic. We received a beautiful sympathy card from Dr. Bartier and staff. Inside the card were 2 of her paw prints. We cannot express how much this meant to us. Thank you, Dr. Bartier and staff.

Friendly staff and doctors with reasonable price. Unlike my previous vet (Clearbrook) where they lied about their pricing.
So far this place has been good ive brought over my youngest puppy here for his first shots and its been fine. Only down side is that i cant be with my dog inside. I understand why with the covid, but my dogs just get very wary and nervous cause of their type of breed. I wish they could make exceptions for certain people only because my dogs are huge and even though i know my dogs are friendly and has been trained, they are still dogs and when in an environment that they are not familiar and especially when they are also being touched and poked, you dont know what they might do. I know you can put a muzzle on but one of my dog is over140pounds, taller than iam and he has fought and chased a cougar and broken down a fence with his power. Im still debating whether i should try bringing him in here or not cause i would like to have one vet for all my dogs.

Love these guys! My little girl was so sick and they rushed her in and took amazing care of her! Called every couple of days to check how she was doing. I couldn't thank them enough!

This place has been making my dog as comfortable as possible during her visits for the past few years. She is nervous around strangers and they are very sweet to her.
Now even despite Covid, she was carried in and out of the building for her anxiousness. The machine was brought out to my vehicle.
The staff is super friendly and the prices are nothing to sneeze at.

Coastal was recommended to me by a friend after moving to Abbotsford. I only took my pup there once for a pre-spay assessment. When my pup needed emergency assistance several weeks later for swallowing a cat toy, a procedure which took all of 30 minutes to get her to throw it up, they could not help me out. This meant I had to scramble to find another vet, and also had to pay an initial visit fee at this other clinic. Thankfully I was extremely happy with the personalized, flexible and caring service at this other clinic. This other clinic only has ONE vet, not a team of vets, but who was willing to stay a little bit overtime to help my pup and another emergency case out. I then booked my spay surgery at this new clinic and paid almost half of what Coastal was going to charge me for the exact same procedure. Bottom line, in my experience, Coastal seems to offer expensive, impersonal service and I would not recommend them to others.

Dr. Monaghan is something else. Dr. M goes above and way beyond the normal scope of my experience in vets. We had a question about coat colours that she wasn’t 100% on so she followed up (off the clock I might add) and made sure we received a solid answer. Like I said, above and beyond. We will always be taking our cats to Coastal Rivers to see Dr. Monaghan. The staff is also knowledgeable and friendly making sure your animals are given the best care possible. If you want the best, come here. Thanks Coastal Rivers!

Second time I've called with an emergency during business hours, to only be turned away/directed to Langley Animal hospital. If I spend thousands of dollars with your business and the moment I need you to see my pet during an emergency, you turn me away?

Sure I''ll get a response saying you were booked and unable to give my pet the care it may have needed. But to put me on hold and go speak to a Doctor, come back and ask If i'm a client already, the dogs name and info and symptoms, then put me on hold and come back and say sorry we cant see him? My dog was unable to walk for a few minutes, he went back to being normal after 10 minutes, it would have taken a short checkup to ensure he was ok.

You'll never see another dollar again and I'll be sure to let every other pet owner know that you're only good for $130 checkups and shots which are easy money. When its a real emergency, you'd rather just pass people off to Langley.

I cannot say enough positive things about this vet. I’ve been coming here for years with my bearded dragon. We mostly saw Dr. Geen before he left, but are now happy to be seeing Dr. Borgmann for the wonderful care of our bearded dragon.

The quality of care I receive over the years has been thorough and outstanding. I have honestly been shocked at how much they genuinely love what they do and care for the pets. That might sound like an obvious thing, but coming from a background in the animal industry, it’s not a given, trust me.

Today we brought our beardie in for a checkup because she seemed a bit off. After reading through a long, rambly and stressed email, Dr. Borgmann proceeded to take the time to thoroughly go over every possible detail that may have been important, truly listened and cares when you speak, and then made an effort to reassure me and clearly care that I left feeling happy myself.

This office not only loves and cares for your pets, but they care for you. I have never received bad service here and I will continue to bring all my future pets here.
