What a day! Lots of fish! We landed 3 nice springs and 6 cohos and lost at least that many including some really big feeder springs though Curtis did his best to keep them on the line. Curtis was fantastic in his knowledge of the area, getting us to places where we had fish on constantly over the full, 8 hour day. All the while he kept us abreast of the wildlife in the area. We saw at least 5 orcas and 4 humpbacks. Very personal with great conversation, easy listening music and incredible adeptness ant running the lines, the boat and everything else. After cleaning the fish he guided us to get them to the processors. Smooth operator! We very highly recommend Captain Curtis of Coastal Wilderness Adventures! Best day ever!

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! Our guide was Curtis and my goodness does he knows his stuff from where to fish, how to fish, and no surprise that our party limited out on the daily quota. We booked for the half day trip and we did regret on not being able to make more time to keep on fishing and fishing with Curtis as our guide out at sea. We were getting so many bites and 'fish on' for the five hours of the half day booking, it just got so addicting we didn't want the fishing fun to end. Highly recommend Curtis and the rest of Coastal Wilderness Adventures! Will definitely be booking with them again when we go out to Campbell River next time.

This is our second trip out fishing with Curtis. The planning was excellent, everything was timed perfectly for location and quality of fishing. The fishing boat has lots of room and was kept very clean, the fishing gear is awesome.
The views were spectacular we caught so much fish, we saw killer whales, sea lions, and a black bear!

I gave this trip to my 12 year old son as a birthday present. Ben was a lovely, relaxed, effective guide for my children. We kept 4 big King and 4 pink and released several Coho and more Kings. They found beautiful isolated surroundings North of Quadra. Also saw pacific white sided dolphin, harbour and Dall's popoises and sea birds including phalaropes.

I booked a couple of days fly fishing for salmon on Vancouver Island with Curtis and had an excellent time. Curtis organised Steve as a guide, who looked after us well, created a couple of different days fishing that met our needs, and was nice company. Day one included my son and his girlfriend, who have less fishing experience, and so Steve targeted some easier pink salmon beats, and day two was just for me, and we tried some more ambitious shore fishing, as well as some pink salmon river beats.
My goal was to catch my first salmon on a fly.
By the end of day one I'd caught over 10, with over 5 more on the second day. My son and his girlfriend also caught about 5 salmon each.
Steve took us to a fabulous location, that in addition to shoals of pink salmon, also gave us a black bear chasing salmon up the rapids, turkey vultures and bald eagles over our heads and huge herons by the water.
Day 2 was more frustrating as we sought larger salmon from the shoreline, but there were none about. But that is fishing. Steve switched us to hunting the smaller pinks from another river in the afternoon, and I caught over 5. So a good day overall.
These days were among the best of my west Canada vacation, and I will be back.

We had an excellent day fishing with Curtis. Everything was very professional with respect to his preparation and organization for the days activities. His boat and fishing equipment are of high quality and it was clear that he takes pride in their cleanliness and maintenance.

We had an amazing experience! We had Ben and Joel as our fishing guides and they got us on some amazing fish! It was also a very stormy day, but we felt very comfortable in their hands and large boats. They also got us to some great and calm fishing grounds. Their boat had great washrooms, which was nice for us ladies. They also did a wonderful job of teaching and supporting, but really letting us do the actual fishing! Couldn’t recommend them enough!

We had an epic family day on the water! Our guide Ben was very knowledgable, a great coach, easy going and very patient with our two little kids on a boat for 8 hours. The entire team was really helpful and responsive, and worked together to ensure we had a great experience in one of the most gorgeous settings. Would recommend CWA to anyone, and would book with them again in a heartbeat. We had a ton of fun.

Curtis is amazing as always. We took our 6 and 9 year old salmon fishing with Curtis today and I could not be more impressed. He was so positive and good with the kids and made the trip special for them while putting them in front of some amazing fish. We will return next year and every year after!

Justin drove us to a secluded river fishing spot loaded with pink salmon! We had such a fun day with tons of hits and netted many. It was our first time fly fishing, so he fully outfitted us and taught us casting and catching techniques. He was so patient, and seemed genuinely excited for us when we hit! We even saw a black bear on the shore across the river, and Justin was prepared to scare him off if needed, but we were down-wind and able to just take in the show! It was the best day!

Fantastic charter, Ben did a great job getting us on the board straight away. He worked hard all day to ensure we had the best chance to hook up. 8 Chinook and 1 Coho to the boat. Great day!

We had an amazing three day trip. We caught all the fish we could keep, and then so many more. Curtis got us on the fish early and often. In the few lulls between rod tips going down, we had great conversations and many laughs through the time. Our group was lucky enough to catch a view of some Humpback Whales and Curtis made sure to point them out and let us take that experience in. Curtis takes some pretty amazing pictures as well.
In summary, so many fish, so many laughs, and most of all, so many great memories.
