We have been coming here when we are in Nanaimo early mornings for over 15 years. This morning we stopped for pretzels and also indulged in a cheese stick - WOW! The absolute best cheese stick I have ever had! Texture was like a croissant - so buttery it melted in my mouth - can’t wait to go back!

Cornish pasties are great. The baked goods are ok. Fairly cheap struddles for the size you get.
Parking can get busy at times. But worth a visit.

Best donuts in town. The surly staff are part of the charm…think of the Seinfeld episode involving soup:)

LOVE their Pecan Pie, Beinenstich and Sacher Torte slices, excellent vanilla slices as well. Their sunflower rye bread is one of a kind. Wonderful treats from Germany at Christmas.and excellent products year round. Excellent bakery. Guess we've been lucky as their staff have always been friendly albeit super busy.

Best Pumpkin pie I ever tasted! Going back for another if they sell them after Thanksgiving.

Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. Place was absolutely cooking hot. Felt quite bad for the ladies working but they were still patient and friendly. Huge selection of food.many hard choices to make. Would love to try more in the future

4 generations of my family have been coming here for the last 50 years. From my Opa to my 2 young daughters, it’s always a pleasure to go in with the comfortable atmosphere and unchanged recipes. Thanks for the hospitality over the years

Amazing Pretzels. Drop by every week to pick up a few. I absolutely recommend giving them a try. Very yummy.

Great tasting food when you can get it. Ensure to get there before 10am as they don’t usually make enough desserts daily to meet demand, and depending on who you get, most of the staff are a bit rude. 5/5 food, 1/5 service, overall 3 stars.
