Columbia River Paddle

Staff should have better informed of conditions. Before our trip, my group was told the river was "currently a bit shallow in parts, and that it [would] be best to stick right at splits". What that meant was BC is experincing an astronomical draught right now; the river was sometime barely high enough to float let alone paddle, the shore spots were either too rocky or quicksand at that elevation during the wetlands portion. Still, amazing views but a less than awesome experience.

We had a great time canoeing with our guide Adrian. Adrian was very knowledgeable and explained the history and geography of the wetland and the surrounding region. We spotted a couple of bald eagles and osprey. People at this place are very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely recommend Columbia River Paddle to my friends and would use them again when I visit Invermere next time.

Really helpful and accommodating staff. Lots of options available for a reasonable hire price. The wetlands were beautiful! We will be back!

Excellent paddle today. Great service. Very nice staff. Super efficient pick up services. I only wish they had more mile markers so you knew how much further you had to go.

Our family of five did the wetland tour with a guide in a voyager. It was great. She pointed out stuff we would have missed and was highly knowledgeable! Highly recommend the guided tours to families with kids. My teenage son and I wanted more so we booked the DIY kayaking from Invermere to Radium. Very fun and peaceful lazy river paddle. Totally open to anyone as we had zero experience paddling. All the staff were very nice and explained everything. Great way to experience nature in Invermere!

We rented a double kayak and paddled into the wetlands - it took 90 minutes. We were given a rough idea of what to expect and where to turn around. The highlight was an unexpected closeup of 3 bald eagles. That was amazing - we were told we might see some wildlife. Then we paddled into the main lake for a bit and returned in less than 2 hours. Nice afternoon.

We did the lazy river paddle and rented a canoe. We had a lot of fun and will try paddle boarding down the river next time we are in the area. Such a good day!

Columbia River Paddle helped us with shuttle needs for a wedding and they were amazing. Well priced, helpful, flexible and Jurgen was a legend, especially at the end of the night when rounding up the last revellers was a mission - he also turned the music up for the trip back to the hotel to keep the partying going - couldn't have asked for more.

Professional and courteous shuttle service and kayak rentals. I tipped my kayak and employees worked hard to make sure I got back on the water and enjoyed the rest of the paddle.

My wife and I took a guided tour with Byron. We fully enjoyed beautiful scenery, ability to explore niches on Columbia River, learning to recognize animal tracks and watching many species of local birds. Didn't see much wildlife during that time of the year but had lots of fun and professional assistance from our guide.

I want to commend Columbia River Paddle on their customer service. A day before our reservation, my partner injured himself such that we could no longer safely paddle board. I contacted the the company to cancel my reservation but it didn't go through the first time. I contacted them by phone again a few days later after seeing the charge on my credit card and they were very understanding and quickly processed the refund on the spot with me. My partner and I didn't end up using our paddleboards, but the customer service experience was excellent. When he's better, we will definitely consider Columbia River Paddle again.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. You could tell they enjoyed what they did. Such good pointers and clearly communicated on what and where you could see sights.

My only real reason for a low rating is the poor precautions during COVID during staff. There was no social distancing and no masks. I actually felt very uneasy, as they were super busy and could easily have been the cause of huge spread.

I would recommend taking mask off once you left the dock and putting it back on prior to getting close enough as the lady that helped us was definitely in our bubble with no mask.

This is a great way to see the river and the wetlands. Their guide took us into areas that would not be advisable to people without local knowledge of the channels and water levels. The area is beautiful and the trip is great on a warm summer day. There was some wildlife - mostly birds - but not lots. Perhaps there would be more during spring and fall when the birds are migrating. Views are spectacular and varied throughout.

Max was a great instructor! His lesson was clear and easy to understand. My kids had a great 2-hour-kayaking with him. Max was funny and taught them a lot. Price was fair.

I had booked a paddleboard for the downtown location without realizing it and showed up to the beach location. The staff were great and arranged to let me have an extra board before the time of my reservation and called the other location to let them know. I wouldn't have had a way to get to the other location so the accommodation was much appreciated

Awesome time in the wetlands but I feel the paddle boarding is to expensive. $100 for 2 people. It was a great time and a new experience
