Update:
Our dog recently had an unfortunate fall on Friday Nov 17,2023. I was frantic and called this hospital and the receptionist was lovely and quickly checked with the doctor who is super accommodating because my dogs leg was complete fractured. My heart aches even mentioning this. Dr. Brar was able to give a proper diagnosis and efficiency delivered the bad news which gave us options to do surgery. He was kind and gentle and understanding. While waiting on his email for the surgeon and referral contact, I mistakenly made a wrong choice of contacting our pets breeders vet. Monday, Nov 20th, Things went sideways on the day of the surgery only because I had questions about their consent forms. I only need clarifications but they cancelled the surgery anyway. At this point, it was 12: 30 and I was crying on the phone (my dog’s leg is broken, she is 5 lbs and has not had food or water and is in pain because we were not allowed to give her meds for the surgery… I called the receptionist and explained what happened and requested to get the referral sent to Vancouver Animal Hospital so that we can get in asap. The receptionist at Columbia Animal Hospital was helpful and respectful and efficient of getting the information sent over to the specialist! She is very competent and I appreciate that because it was the opposite at the breeders vet. Needless to say, I am glad there are professionals in the neighborhood who enjoys their job, helping others and are genuinely caring. Dr. Brar was outstanding and my husband and I are super grateful of his efforts in helping our furry family member when we badly needed it. I want to thank everyone in this office for their attention and work ethic. My dog and I are blessed to have found such caring group of health care professionals who we can truly count on during times like these… I have said it in the past and I will say it again, I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great vet. Until next time, hopefully just for check up and vaccines.

My dog needed an emergency check up and they were able to fit us in easily. The vet was very informative and professional in answering my questions and provided us options of treatment that best suited our pet without jumping to conclusions. She allowed both my husband and I to be in the exam room which was nice because our dog is a little too nervous around strangers. Best vet so far! Would definitely use them in the future and highly recommended.

We’ve taken our dogs here for years after a very negative experience with another local vet. Dr. Brar Jr.is our favorite! (Although, his dad is really great too) We never feel pressured with unnecessary procedures. Everything is explained thoroughly so that we can make an informed decision.
When we had to say goodbye to our boy Cooper, Dr. Brar and the staff were so compassionate in his final moments. I’ll never forget that kindness!

Vets have always been very kind and thorough with our pup when never we’ve been in. Never felt nickel and dimed or up charged for unnecessary services, and the staff are always kind to our anxious dog.

When I lived in New West, I used to take my dog and cat to see Dr. Brar Sr.at this clinic. The service was always great and the prices definitely more than fair. You could tell the staff at the clinic really cared about animals and you could always be confident that your fur babies were in good hands. I really miss this clinic and haven’t been able to find anywhere like it here on Vancouver Island. Thank you to Dr. Brar Sr.for your kindness and care of Hannah, who lived to be 18 years old, passing just in Nov 2022. (The photo is her at 17 yrs old. She was still active and a going concern!)

Such caring staff and they always do their best to fit us in if there is a concern with either of our cats!

Amazing clinic! I've went here for all of my kitten's (Chipi's) vaccines and for emergency surgery on her tail after a degloving accident. They are absolutely lovely with Chipi, always extremely caring and professional

I love this vet hospital, get my dog's dental cleaning every year with them. They have fair prices and are always trying to help their clients. Lola loves going there!

Good vet.no appt.they looked at my dogs leg. Surgery the next day. Go back in 2wks remove stitches. Reasonable. After this i Will be taking all my pets there.place is busy like heck.they open till 10 pm! Il impressed.

Unbelievable. I used to come to this place when living in new West years ago and very happy. Years later I decided to get my cat Galena and my kid here for a routine check up and vet experience for her. It was disastrous. The doctor that helped us was quite unfriendly and refused to administer a simple worm control pill to the cat, or applying the liquid for ticks control on the skin. What happened with wrapping the cats with towels for clipping nails? She was so afraid to do anything. Not only that, didn't help me getting the cat back in the carrier, leaving the room providing to up to the shoulder globes to grab my own cat. That's supposed to be her!? Had to take my kid out of the exam room and another doctor finally assisted us helping getting the cat in the carrier. Now I'm home with the meds SHE is supposed to administer as a Professional Veterinary and I had to even pay for that unpleasant experience. Never coming back to this place.

Highly recommend this vet, they are caring and kind to both pets and their parents. They were able to squeeze my cat in to see the vet the same day when he had a urinary tract blockage. I felt confident knowing that our little guy was in great hands.

I have been taking my cat here for over 5 years. Great vets, friendly staff. Prices are really fair compared to other vets. I'm not scared a simple check up will break my bank. Highly reccomend for cat and dog owners!

They are very helpful here. Their prices are more reasonable than other vets and they get you in when you have an urgent need. All the staff are very kind and loving to my pups

I used to be loyal to this clinic. I thought Dr Kam and Dr Puneet and the front staff were amazing. I’ve found that they’ve slowly been pushing out treatment of large and giant breed dogs from their clinic and catering only to the smaller breeds. Their were my go to and contrary to their website claims about being treated like family I’ve been forced to find a new vet because they’ve been dismissive of treating my boy in favour of what is starting to look like a revolving door. Their prices are reasonable but if you have a large or giant breed … go elsewhere to get fair and consistent treatment.

That said my appreciation for Dr Kam and Dr Puneet does not transfer to Dr Avtar. I would not trust Dr Avtar with my animal. A few years ago I moved province with my Great Dane. As a result of the environment change my boy was losing weight and stressed. Without so much as a physical exam, blood work or any scientific approach, Dr Avtar claimed by Dane (155lbs at the time) was severely underweight and that he should be around 200lbs and that he likely had failing liver and kidneys. WTH! FYI the average healthy weight of a Great Dane is 140-180. At the time of the move my boy had lost 10-15 lbs from his last check up where we moved from.

It was only the saving grace of Dr Kam on a follow up visit that helped my boy get back to his normal weight range of 165-170.

I’m very upset at this new direction the clinic has gone. I’ve never experienced a clinic go from being a go to clinic to not wanting to deal with certain dog sizes.

I took moonshine there for UTI.it's not moonshine first time going throught UTI I took him to other vet and hey get fix up I took here and 650+ later and 2 round of Clavaseptin 62.5mg and the UTI came back now they want to charge me for a ultrasound for moonshine

Great staff. Had an extreme issue with my kitten and they went out of their way to call every 24hr emergency hospital to get her into one immediately.

I’ve been going to this veterinary for a few years. I find they have the best price for many veterinary services. Even the pet foods are way better priced than most other veterinaries in the lower mainland. The veterinarians here are great and friendly too.

We love this clinic. The staff and veterinarians are kind, helpful, and knowledgable! They are great with our cats and always give us details in the follow up to an appointment. Prices are fair and they never try to up charge. You can always get in quickly which is great when we have had emergencies.

This is our regular Vet and we are always pleased with their care and kindness. They don’t push, they explain carefully, and they all act like they care about animals.

I absolutely recommend them! Thank you!

Very Happy All Around. Kam my dogs vet is always accurate with his diagnosis. And my dog gets healthy fast.

My cat’s vet. They’re always nice and caring but still professional. I’m glad I have them close to my house.
