Very impressed with the new service manager (Aaron) and his team. I have had an ongoing issue with my Rav 4 and was going to go to another dealer. Aaron and his team were insistent that I come back and let them solve the issue. Solved the problem without too much problem and Everything was put on warranty. They went well above what anyone would expect. It’s obvious that the changes that are occurring are good for everyone. Got a great vibe when dealing with the crew at Toyota now. Thanks again!

I just had an email from the salesperson I dealt with.
He told me that myself and the customer before me were unhappy.
The other person yelled at the service person. I just said it’s unacceptable that I’m told my car will be in at 12: 30 then at 2 it’s not looked at. Then told to come back at 3: 30 or 4.
No yelling. No berating. Just told her that it was poor service work. Especially after she told me that the 12: 30 was a drop off time to see her and had nothing to do with when it goes into the shop.

So. 2 unhappy customers. First guy yells. I calmly voice my discontent.

The reply from the Owner was I have to apologize for my actions or don’t come back.

If you are buying a vehicle be aware. Toyota is known for quality and service.
This place sells a quality product but needs to get their service department in order.

The shop manager actually said they had people in to try and fix the shop issues. Interesting.

So I’m passing on valuable information to potential buyers.

Last time I step foot in that shop.

Terrible service again. I booked an appointment for 12: 30 person on the phone says it’ll be 1.5 hours for a recall.
Truck is dropped off at 12: 25 she now says 2 hours.
I return at 2: 30 and it is just being brought into the shop. She now says that It’ll be after 3: 30 and the 12: 30 was just a pre booking with reception.
This shop used to be good.the dealership has been sold and service is poor.

Interesting. I spoke with the service manager about my service issue.
He told me that there was a person earlier who yelled at the service person. Got her upset.
After I talk to her he now says I made her cry. If I was disrespectful the customer in the shop would not have offered me a ride.
So. The service manager confuses his customers.
Our last talk was me seeing if he could focus on getting my truck out as soon as possible as I had an appointment.
1.5 hours quoted and 4 hours to do the job is worth a customer complaint. I don’t yell and I don’t berate. But I do share information.

Brent’s customer service is exceptional! He is very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and educates you on products. While I was waiting, he introduced me to the general manager, brought me fresh cookies and coffee. If you are looking to purchase a new vehicle, I highly recommend dealing with Brent Lloyd.

Mark Hoskins was a terrific help to me. James Evan’s was also very accommodating and helpful. Ask for these guys when you visit!

In February 2023 I bought a Toyota Corolla from Comox Valley Toyota. I would like to share my experience with the future buyers.
Generally I am really happy with these guys and I will give you detail review:
Sales person was Brent- very nice and pleasant guy. Always kept in touch with me before the purchase, walked me through the whole process during the actual purchase, helped me to pair my phone with the car and explained me most of the car functions. For the rest he sent me videos.
Finance person- Taylor- very nice and knowledgeable guy. Took his time to explain me the finance options. He was also very patient with me to explain me what additional insurance options I can have and he wasn't pushing me but just giving me the facts and logic behind each insurance option. Cut me a great deal and I really appreciate that.
Manager- Chris- very good and professional guy, very nice and flexible, offer some options and never pushed me to do something extra. He went by my desire.
I was introduced also to the maintenance advisor Taylor and I will do my regular maintenance with Comox Valley Toyota. Hope they are as nice and professional as the sales department but I will write about them when I get some maintenance done.
I do recommend buying Toyota with Comox Valley Toyota as they are open and honest people and no hidden fees like some other dealerships. For ordinary people like me- Toyota is the best- I just sold my Corolla after using it for 23 YEARs. These cars are running for ever.
Last thing- when you go to get your car- bring a void check. You will need it. I didn't have one and the ICBC guy who was at the site, wasn't very flexible, luckily Brent help me.

Bought my 2022 Highlander Hybrid today. It is the first car I have bought from this dealer. It was the best experience I have had in purchasing a vehicle. They all work as a family and that friendly family atmosphere radiates though out the dealership. You feel welcome and they make you feel like you are part of that family. I dealt with Perry and John who made the whole process professional, smooth and enjoyable. Something I have never had at any other dealership I have dealt with. I live 3 hours away from this dealer but will buy my next car there! Thanks Wayne & Bette Ps The fresh cookies and popcorn were an added bonus!

I recently purchased a 4Runner from this dealership.

The good was the vehicle was brought in a reasonable time frame and the salesman Brent was good.

The bad was the experience in the finance department. There was terrible transparency: not sharing interest rate, adding on warranties and other protection plans without explaining the true difference in monthly cost. I will not return to this dealership because the experience was spoiled at the end.

Purchased a Toyota Tundra from Comox Toyota October 3. Tyler Firth, being my sales associate, was excellent. Tyler was straight forward and forthcoming. The price was the price and he didn’t “suggest” add ons. He made you aware of them for your information but didn’t pressure you to purchase them. He wasn’t pushy nor was he overbearing. Very pleasant to deal with.
A little miscommunication during the final signing had me waiting for about an hour, but I was in no rush.
Overall, an excellent experience. I would recommend Comox Toyota and Tyler if seeking a new vehicle.

It's never a fun experience having to shop for a vehicle after yours is a complete write off, and it was made easier by the wonderful men at Comox Valley Toyota. I was able to find an amazing deal with a used 2018 Rav 4 SE, she is safe and comfortable and drives like a dream! Thank you John for your no pressure approach, to Chris Preston for going above and beyond and making sure ICBC looks after me and getting me into my new ride. Thank you to Ashley and Tyler in finance for trying to get me the best rates and TJ for driving me to get my plate sorted and picking me up from the car rental return. You all went above and beyond with your service, integrity, teamwork and your thorough approach. Bonus points is their awesome coffee, which apparently I can come back and use any time ;)

I had a great service at comox Valley toyota. Chris, TJ, and Ashley are fantastic to work with. I was able to find and drive my car the same day.

The service was easy to access and my questions were answered clearly.

Since writing my first review I am changing this. My 2022 Toyota Rav 4 Trail has had starting issues (as in it won't start at all sometimes) since less than 1000 km. I was told (in writing) by Rob Ferguson (Sales Manager) that if they could not fix the problem they would replace the vehicle. They were unable to find the problem. He has gone back on his word. Now, the gas gauge doesn't work. I am told that I just have to keep bringing it back to fix it on warranty. It is a 130km round trip for me every time I go to the dealership. The time, gas money and stress driving back and forth at least eight times with these issues in the last few months has been awful. I have to return yet again as they were unable to fix the gas gauge problem. I am beyond disappointed. The consumer should not have to "eat" this problem. Either the dealership needs to replace the lemon vehicle, or ideally, Toyota Canada needs to step up and replace it. So much for a reliable and dependable vehicle.

I came into Comox Valley Toyota as I heard a lot of great things about the dealership. I really needed to find a reliable, safe, gas efficient car. Mark Hoskins was introduced to me and I felt very looked after! He helped me out and the entire team was very professional. Thankyou kindly for the great help today!

After going out of my way to save them money on a business related job and work with their needs. They basically kicked me to the curb and told me they wouldn't help me out after our tire blew out. Wasn't asking for much. Seems fair. I was accused of lying when I was offered a free tank and went to get it. Service center doesn't communicate with one another and the service manager wanted to try and argue with me when I expressed how that wasn't good business that no one called me once to inform me of anything wrong or that the vehicle was done. Spent 8 hours on the sunroof and hadn't looked at the rest of my problems. Once we got to our vehicle the headliner was covered in greasy hand prints. They sent me else where to get that fixed.

Service manager Scott also told me that he booked an appointment into ford for them to fix my vehicle. We showed up and the appointment had never been made after waiting weeks. Found out that I infact DID NOT have to wait 30 days for my Tricare warranty to start confirmed by Tricare themselves because that starts day 1. They just didn't want to deal with my sunroof or other issues until my 30 days was up.

Thanks to another local dealer for taking care of me, can't thank them enough and they've earned my business for life. Sadly I didn't buy from them but definitely wish I had.terrible experience all around with Toyota and won't be going back after that.

He responded promptly to my texts, even while he was on vacation, and he ensured that of my questions were answered satisfactorily. 2021 Highlander XLE purchased in September. Added running boards and a trailer hitch. Fabulous vehicle. Great dealership and thanks to Mark Hoskins for the assistance. Particularly enjoyed the Youtube videos on vehicle features and how to instructions.

I’ve purchased multiple vehicles over the past 25 years (Brian Rice previously and now Comox Valley Toyota) with the same fantastic experience. Worked with John Dewitt right from the beginning and still deal with him now. When someone stays for that long with one company it says a lot about that person, product and the business. I’m not a high end customer and have only purchased used vehicles; regardless, I’ve always felt valued and appreciated. I can’t say I’ve had many issues with the vehicles but any minor issues were managed promptly.

John has always been pleasant and easy to work with. I have never felt pressured or misinformed when researching vehicles. He will give you honest advice and you won’t likely ever hear the “don’t worry we’ll take care of you” line- I don’t run very fast but I do when I hear that line.

I have sent other people to John as well and they have indicated the same experience.

Highly recommend Comox Valley Toyota.

If you're looking for a car talk to the sales person-Chris Skimming. He is honest staight forward. He goes beyond what I had expected to find the car within my financial means & wishes. He doesn't go off & start showing you cars with no CD player. He understands when you say not tech savvy so shows you the best he has within all your parameters. The best Toyota Dealer on the Island no question. We were shopping for a Tacoma back in the summer and many dealers were just not feeling right. Standoffish at times and not very enjoyable to work with. Laurie was very good to deal with and we had many communications before a deal was finalized via talk and text which worked great for me. All in all, was the best new car experience I've had and the sales managers and finance staff were great too. Will definitely recommend anyone taking the drive to Comox Valley Toyota if they are looking for a Toyota. We are very happy with our new Tacoma as well!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Horrible service, lies after lies about a deposit being held and then "returned several times" I will have waited for a little over a month and a half for a deposit to be given back. Salesmen wouldn't return our message, other finance staff were no help. Even when I called numerous times, asking for receipts of my refund being processed they never gave it to me. Asked for it through email first, she said no I will text it to you. Never got it. I will never go to this dealership again. Happy I found a dealership in Nanaimo who went above and beyond to get me a car that I love with amazing service from all departments as well.

Had my first service for my Toyota Rav4 here today after purchasing the vehicle at Nanaimo Toyota in June. The service was excellent and booking was straight forward. I was reminded the day before via text about my appointment and was texted when it was ready for pickup. The staff member (Ashley) that checked my car in was very friendly and made the process simple by having paperwork ready to go before I came in. To top it off, the vehicle was vacuumed and had a wash afterward (which not all dealerships do). 100% this Toyota dealership will be doing services on my Rav4 for as long as I have it!

We needed a lug nug taken off my one tire that had broken off. It was very close to closing but one of the staff managed to get the broken lug nut off and saved the day. Koodoes to Comox Toyota for going above and beyond. I would highly recommend them.

Great service! Service and advisors bend over backwards to take care of you and get you out on the road again in a timely fashion.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Izik when looking for my new car. I gave him a narrow list of vehicles I would be willing to look at, and he managed to work within my requests and put in me an excellent 2010 Corolla. He was straightforward, respectful and I never once felt like I was being pushed into anything. He worked with me to honour my request of having an independent mechanic check it out and was always available to answer my questions.

I did also have excellent service from Carlyn in the finance dept and a shout out to James for taking care of both myself, and my partner who purchased a few months earlier.

I highly recommend this dealership for anyone who wants a low pressure experience and wants to find the right vehicle for them. I assure you they will do everything possible (and then some) to make it work for you

Excellent service! I've always bought my vehicles privately and they were my first time going through a dealership, and they made it absolutely refreshing. Comox Valley Toyota really went above and beyond to ensure my experience was not only satisfactory, but also educational, understanding that I wasn't 100% sure what I was doing. In no way did I feel taken advantage of, despite my inexperience, and they were able to move on the price until I was happy with it. Kyle Rayner was my salesman, and he did a great job using his personal car purchases as a comparison to some of the decisions I should/shouldn't have made. If there are skeptics reading this who think I am naive and got fooled, my dad was there with years and years of dealership-buying experience and he was also very happy with the deal we reached, and with how they treated me. He even talked for quite some time with the business manager about their boats, so the personal connection the dealership reached with us in just a few hours made us happy to have chosen them.
Will be back for my next car.

Terrible Service! Brought a vehicle in after having an appointment for WEEKS! And returned to find they had NOT EVEN STARTED THE SERVICE! And they knew my brother had a ferry to catch. Terrible service and so disrespectful of a senior’s time!

I bought a 2020 Rav4 off of Izik a couple weeks ago and would love to rave about him! When i walked on to the lot i was prepped for a pushy sales man to walk out BUT i lucked out and Izik walked out! He answered every question i had about the car and at no time did i ever feel like i was pressured into anything. He let us take our time with the decision and when it came to talking numbers i was really pleased with the end (even getting roof racks included in our deal for my paddle board!) After the purchase he called to check up on everything and was always welcoming questions! He even went to lengths to make sure my appointment for my roof racks was in place & let me know when they came in, in a timely fashion!
Really appreciate all your help Izik and i couldn't recommend a better salesman! Customer service must run through his blood because he is one of the friendliest people I've met!

Tried to order parts today. I was told I need to pay for the part before ordering. I disagreed with there policy, as a customer loyal one at that. I asked if I could pay for it completely after Toyota installs the part. Reason being as why do I have to pay upfront for a part Toyota doesn’t have? Toyota has more money then I. I see the part I buy the part simple. Not with Courtenay Toyota. Worst Toyota dealer in Canada. Denise the parts manager should be fired. Call him have a word with him he so arrogant. I was told it’s his parts department. And he runs it that way. Period. Have a nice day. To any Military members Do NOT GO to this dealer. They do not honour there $500 off to service members. And I chose that Toyota dealer to save the $500, that I never received.

My first visit and bought a new used vechile. From the time I entered to the time I left they made you feel like family. My hats off to all the staff. My sales person was Brenonn K look him up he was great.

I brought in my newish tundra for some regular maintenance. I told them not to wash it.because I've spent $800. Getting it professionally detailed, scratches buffed out and waxed. Well they washed it, and did a terrible job. They took all the wax off and probably scratched it. It looks worse than when it went in.

Great staff! Mark was a pleasure to work with. And. The gm was threatening and was extremely inappropriate with us after we found a better deal else where that they could not compete with. Definitely shop around and compare with other dealerships.

Listen to your instinct. What started out to be pleasant deal handling turned into a nightmare.
Mark was very accommodating, and their accountant Carlyn worked very hard doing her best to get us approved. We spent a full Saturday waiting between different staff members to "take care" of us. But in the end, the deal still wasn't up to our satisfaction or reached our needs, so pressure tactics were then played. It did not feel right and they seemed desperate to make a sale. As a conscious buyer, I shopped around, and ended up finding a better deal that met all our demands, we went in and thanked them all for they're hard work and shook hands. Upon leaving their general manager waved us down in the parking lot and approached our vehicle. Leaning into my car, and holding onto the door, he then became extremely imposing and rude. Innapropriately asking questions that did not concern him as I had not signed any agreement and was free to buy elsewhere. Feeling somewhat threatened I voiced that I was going to drive away, because he still had his hands on my car. It left me and my partner with such a sick feeling! I do not recommend Comox Valley Toyota. They're just another sleazy, sly, scare tactics, and pushy car dealership.

I had an awesome experience dealing with this dealership! I had been shopping around to get a good deal on a new Tacoma and dealing with other dealership prior and having previous bad experiences. Comoxvalley Toyota made up for all the other dealers that left a sour taste. Very transparent when dealing with sales. The sales manager James was very helpful breaking down all the numbers and made me laugh throughout the process making me feel more relaxed. My sales person Yvan was very knowledgeable with all the different options and extras i wanted and the Finance lady Carlyn got me a way better approval then i was told i would get and she was awesome to deal with! Super friendly staff that me me feel apart of the Toyota family! Recommend to everyone!

My wife and I just purchased a 2018 Prius V from Comox Valley Toyota after not being able to find the car we wanted in Victoria.
