Really bad experience! They are trying to make things complicated and let you spend more money on printing. They will have their own excuse always.

Amazing service. I've gone to them twice with last minute panicked requests and they went above and beyond for me both times. The first time, they printed a research poster for me with less than 1 hour notice, and the second time within 4 hours - both times I had to fly out the following morning for a conference. The poster quality (fabric) was also very high both times. The online quote/order system is also convenient for students/researchers on a tight deadline. I highly recommend this place.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
I was having trouble converting my file to PDF due to technical difficulties, and the gentlemen at the front desk kindly helped me convert the file at no extra cost. Speaking of cost, printing an A1 poster is half the price compared to Staples. As well, the standard poster paper is a high quality and sturdy matte finish material with great color vibrancy. The bang for the buck is outstanding.

While we were fixing the file conversion issue, the gentlemen also took the time to give me a lot of graphic designing and software use advice. Thanks to him, I learned a lot of useful tricks in Photoshop.

The owners of this place are so unbelievably cheap that I now drive 10-15 minutes to other spots just so I can send out packages and print stuff. They literally charged me $5 to put TAPE around my package to secure it, of course failing to mention that 'card fees' and taxes apply, rounding it up to $6. This has happened on multiple occasions. Just because your business model is not profitable does not mean you should be scammingly putting the financial burden on your customers. I would recommend going anywhere else (especially the staples next door).

I am a UBC student that has lived here for 5 years now. I remember going to copy smart once in my second year and having a relatively bad experience. Im not saying every time you go into copy smart its bad but the owners are some of the most angry people I've met.

TODAY, I went in to print something for my class that was in 30 minutes. It took them 20 minutes to help me but that was alright. I didn't mind it too much. I waited until I finally had to go and ask for help. The older Iranian man and his son were bickering about something in Farsi and so I attempted to ask for help. He came around and I asked him to print something for me in 11x17 format. He did it and it came out cutting half the page. So he printed it again and it did the same thing. Then he asked his son to do it and he did it properly and got it printed to my liking.

When it was time to pay, he had charged me for all three pages. I was very cooperative and silent this whole time. Eventhough I was having terrible customer service, I just wanted to print my piece and leave for class. Anyway, I decided to say something when he charged me for 3 pages. He said "Your file had a problem", but it only seemed to have a problem when he did it but when his son did. It was my file. He started yelling at me, a young female student, telling me to go elsewhere if i don't want to pay for it. I mean if he was having a bad day, its still inexcusable. I told him i'd pay and so i paid and left. But how could he yell at me at the top of his lungs, in front of so many people when I was trying to be cooperative.

Honestly, that place is run by angry idiots. He pretty much stole $2 from me. If it helped him so much, he can keep his bloody $2. Poor guy probably needs it more anyway.

Moe (the Boss) shouted and yelled at me in front of multiple people when I went in for printing. He charged me $2 extra for printing mistakes HE had made. Terrible customer service! They are racist towards indian and black people! These people always say hate speech and deserve to be shut down!

The middle aged lady who was at the Package pickup area was super rude, terrible attitude. And refused to help me at first. My package was supposed to be avaible for pickup at 11am. I went at 12pm. She said too bad, come back in 3hours. The boxes arrived 10 min prior. Didn't bother even going through quickly to see if my package was there. Cut me off when I said it was small Amazon package. Kept saying too bad come back in 3 hours. At least be nice about the situation. "Unfortunately we aren't able to. " as opposed to "Too bad come back later. " I had to drive all the way to UBC to pick it up when there's a Purolator near my house.

Brought in my laptop to be looked at as it was having some fan problems, with some random crashing, and I wanted to replace my charging cable. The staff were clear and polite and took my computer to be looked at.

I left my computer at the store to be looked at and I was given a quote for $300, roughly 275 for a new motherboard and $25 for a new cable. I trusted that the technician knew what they were doing so I paid the price and waited a few days to pick it up. Unfortunately for me, only one of those problems was fixed.

After getting my computer back it was immediately clear that the fan was still not fixed and my computer was crashing often. To be transparent, I had had the occasional random crash before, mostly something that appeared to happen when my computer tried to go to sleep after I closed the lid. However this problem was aggravated greatly after the motherboard was replaced, with my computer crashing if I ever touch the screen. Additionally, now my power button sticks and is not able to be pressed at times. Lastly, the technician never even finished screwing the bottom back on fully, and I am missing a screw around the edge.

I did bring it in a second time, where nothing was improved, and a third time, after exam season as a last ditch effort for them to get something besides my cable replacement properly done, but they said that I needed to come back in within two weeks *Note: I couldn't have brought my computer in while I was studying for exams. Perhaps I should have called earlier to schedule and alert them that their repairs were completely unsatisfactory, but I was in over my head and inundated with exams and studying.

TLDR: Staff was pleasant enough and polite, but my laptop has since had more issues than before I brought it in, along with one of my complaints, my fan, not even being addressed $300 later.
