Called the lovely lady at this campsite a couple hours before they closed because I was concerned about the weather on the highway and visibility at night. They were beyond accommodating, got us a parking spot for our tent trailer and car that was easy to back into, pull out of and set up in the dark. Tons of room at our site, nice picnic table and trees. Bathrooms available which was beyond welcoming at this point! There was no hot water in the bathroom but I believe there is some available in the shower rooms, I just didn't use the showers. Bathroom was clean, staff was kind. Dogs enjoyed at leashed walk around the Campsite in the morning. Saw an amazing playground if you happen to go through there with children. Staff drove through there several times in the evening in their golf cart, I'm guessing for safety and making sure everyone was good. Would definitely come again! Thank you again so much for giving us a safe haven! There was dense fog, torrential downpours and low visibility on the coquahala. I was in tears before I got to the campsite and was much relieved not to have to continue traveling thank you again so very very much!
I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campground. It is very clean and well maintained. Has a great playground for the kids. The staff were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are clean. It’s easy to forget that you’re in town because of how quiet it is but if you need necessities they’re conveniently close by. Only 4 minute drive from kawkawa lake too. Definitely recommend staying here. We will return for another trip for sure!
We ended up here after my truck radiator was taken out by a rock. It isn't somewhere I'd normally have picked as it is in town, but it was a good time. The sites are well spaced with some reasonable privacy, showers/bathrooms are good and well set up, laundry available, decent playground for the kids; but the best two attributes that kept my boys happy in extreme heat was the adjacent river and a bike park right across the road. Our site had no services but there's a variety available including powered or full hookups. Fresh water taps are available in several places and there is wifi at the office. There is also a free sani-dump out front. No complaints from me, and I really appreciated being able to unexpectedly stay for three nights.
Probably one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve stayed at! Very friendly and helpful staff, clean bathrooms. Beautiful/ private sites. Great location if you are stopping on your way to the island. Was upset we couldn’t have stayed longer.
I booked a non-service site for a week, last minute! The guy was seemingly helpful and said I could run my generator for my dog during the day (it’s almost 40 degrees out)
I came in today to check in and they said I could only run it from 9 to 11, for “policy” reasons, I said that wouldn’t work and asked if it was ok that I get another site somewhere else… after finding somewhere else far more expensive I asked for at least a partial refund. I could understand charging me a day or something, I guess they really needed the money! Scum bag losers! I’d be really careful about dealing with them… if you’re reading this… keep your wallet close around these types of people! There’s better options in hope and if you can make it to Merritt moonshine rv is amazing
Stayed at a riverside campsite with my partner and we really enjoyed it. One thing negative during our 2-night stay was a rude camper walked through our campsite (#105) to get to the river, didn’t even acknowledge us, despite there being an actual river path for other campers to go through. Management should maybe remind campers of this at check-in or have signs, because we paid the extra $5 compared to other non-serviced sites. Otherwise, would stay here again, but at a slightly less central riverside campsite. Washrooms were clean. I felt the noise level was not that bad despite being the campground closer to the road, mostly other campers and the river (we were there Wednesday afternoon to Friday morning).
So, we've been here several times in the last few years. We are now coming back twice a year. Campgrounds are always improving, always clean, and the staff are awesome. The new playground is great. Close to the lake and right beside the river. Easy walk, ride or drive into Hope for supplies, stroll or the bakery and the Blue Moose! Did I mention the bakery? Far away enough from the Lowermainland to seem remote but close enough to not waste a day of traveling. Sites range in size and hookups but, some are quite spacious and wooded. Bike park and Frisbee golf (no cost) across the road for all ages. Highly recommended! Great hiking and biking trails all around too.
This campground is very pleasant, set in the shade of large trees near the river. The water pressure here was abysmal - definitely not worth the $61 to book a full service site ahead of time. Power only sites would be great here. Staff are mostly wonderful, although there is at least one rude member employed here. Maybe the pressure of the busy season is getting to her. W stayed in site 4 on August 2nd.
Great camping experience. Beautiful coquhalla river. The staffs were excellent. Chris helped me out with the best camp site. My wallet got lost, wasn't aware, one of the office crew came and gave it to me, they were honest and made me feel safe. Thank you Nicki, Will be there again.
Quite okay - somewhat idiosyncratic toilet concept with PIN code to get in at all. Haven't we experienced camping in Canada anywhere else in 5 weeks And "shower coins" are no longer up to date either. The offered WiFi only works near the registration. Otherwise the place is absolutely okay for 1-2 nights,
Great service, lots of trees, clean washrooms. Only issue the guy in the campsite directly across from me backed his motorhome in at 11: 15 pm, lots of noise, lots of bright lights shining into my van where I was trying to sleep; he turned off the lights and his motorhome by 11: 30. I got out and covered my windshield with a blanket was is was so very bright. I was expecting quiet after 10pm.
Super nice campsite, beautiful and large spaces, very quiet. The showers are very clean and spacious. We had a roof-tent issue that night, our roof racks broke. Chris didn't hesitate to help us fix it and spend time making sure we were okay. Clearly, he saved us from a painful evening! Those people care, that's the most important. Thank you for everything!
Very nice located campground. Site separated by trees. Unfortunately close to railroad (like many others in the area), trains can be heard at night. Toilets clean, but the showers not very clean. We would like to retourn there.
We reserved a site at Coquihalla Campground in Hope, BC and upon arrival, we were encouraged by what appeared to be a nice, well-kept campground. Check-in should have been fast and easy since your site was pre-paid.
Then the clerk informed us that we would have to pay an additional $10 for our car. We drive a 43-foot motorhome and tow a Jeep Wrangler. If you have a travel trailer, your fee covers the trailer and towing car, if you have a 5th wheel, the campsite fee covers the trailer and your tow vehicle, but if you drive a motorhome, they want an extra $10 for your tow car, despite any other RV and car/truck not having to pay. In more than years and 75,000 miles, this was a new one.
I requested to speak to the owner, but that was denied. Finally, after demanding a refund, they phoned the owner and eventually the fee was dropped "for this one occasion only. " Well, there won't be a second occasion.
A nice but expensive campground that just lost another customer due to price gouging for unreasonable added fees.
