What an amazing new facility! Easy to navigate, extremely helpful and friendly staff.absolutely love this new layout.very well thought out. THANK YOU Coquitlam transfer station and bravo!

It's well organized and much better now that the big commercial trucks aren't using the same facility making the lineups move alot quicker.

I want to dump some yard waste from my garden. They asked me if I hid garbage under my green waste. I said no. Then when I went inside. The person said so you have garbage under your green? Come on people. Walmart doesn't ask me if I am robbing their store when I exit with my groceries. The lineup is atrocious.

It has finally happened! They want to screw over people trying to make a living with commercial vehicles who provide them WITH FREE scrap metal. Do us all a favor and bring your scrap metal to a place like Allied Salvage on Mitchell Island or leave it at designated places at your local plumbing wholesaler etc for the scrapper guys to pick up. Because the scrapper guys are NON union, work hard, and deserve it!

Always a line to get out of recycling area cause they constantly having to condense the metal section.

Was the best transfer station in the lower mainland until they shrunk down the green waste area to a third of what it was. Staff at the scale are great, unfortunately there is one employee inside the facility who acts like her hair is on fire and comes across rude and pushy! I get that you have to keep the flow going but this job is clearly to much for her.

I marveled at the broad and organized facility. The person who helped me was very kind. So I was able to complete my task. Thank you!

I feel unsafe at this waste center.
I was almost ran over by a front loader, walking from the cardboard bin to my vehicle.
I reported this to the front desk and they just rolled thier eyes.

Terrible customer service. Their employee in the recycling department through my milk crate at me and yelled at me over some miscommunication. Don’t go here unless you want to be verbally and physically assaulted.

This was an old comment and was a one star the new one is so good so changing it to a 5 star clean great help love going don't have to wait in line with people going to the dump.

My friend goes here with a trailer full quite often, he is always saying how efficient the staff are and how convenient the unload is. A well run operation.

Omg there is no room for trucks and trailers to turn around! Some days I've had to leave without dumping as there's just no room. Such a big building but we are all crammed in a tiny corner.

Helpful staff and you can recycle a variety of things here. Clean area.

Recycle: mixed plastics, platsic bags, eWaste, cooking oil, metal drop off, batteries, propane tanks (big and small).

You can also donate clothing items

Worth it if you make one large trip with all your recyclables.

Well organized facility that is newly opened. All vehicles will turn right after entering the facility and it will separate into recycling and garbage disposal lines. The items that can be recycled on site is impressive, from cooking oil, electronics etc to scrap metal. The bulkier material, like scrap metal, plastics and wrappings are located on the western side. Smaller materials like bulbs etc are on the eastern side. Would be helpful if there is a map before the turn off so new folks get the lay of the land. The helper is extremely helpful.

Major improvement over the old facility. Good access to separate paths for recycling and garbage lines and plenty of room for people to unload. Good organization in the recycling area in particular, well marked bins. Staff were really helpful and facilities were clean

The site was Awesome, lineups weren't bad at all, Justin and Trystan up in the Scalehouse are a Dream Team, both Hilarious & Gorgeous. 10/10 will come back just to see them again~

Came to dispose of some junk. A worker Douglas was very helpful and friendly in directing me what goes where. New facility very organize and clean!

This new facility is a nightmare. Much less capacity than the old location. Not landscaper friendly, no room to turn around trailers at the green waste pile. Only plus is you can easily dump green and garbage at same time as the piles are basically mixing. Can't believe they spend 70 mil on this disorganized mess. Two weight scales but only 3 lanes is baffling. Seems the only point of this new facility was to get the long lines of traffic off United Boulevard, not to reduce them. Staff seem to agree too and say they were not consulted on the design.because why would people that work and operate daily have any valuable input?

Changing my review to 5 stars because this move (to a new location) made this a lot better

Spacious and organized

This place is a joke. Open for two weeks and seems less efficient and more jammed up than the previous facility. Had to do a 3 point turn with my trailer inside the building while 2 massive bay doors could be used for proper traffic flow. 3 employees seemed to agree the old facility was better (aside from falling down). Port kells transfer is half the size and twice as effective. Whoever engineered and designed this place shouldn't be allowed to design civil spaces anymore. Disaster of 77mil of tax payer $$

I go here every 4-5 weeks. Not only the place is well organized, they have one of the best scenic play actor of traffic coordinator I have ever seen. He is not just conducting traffic, he is making performance out of it! I don't know if he likes his job or he just is a happy person but he always makes my day!

Nice staff, stinks like a dump, just like a dump should, quite organized for a place of garbage.

Upon weighing out today I was told i had exceeded the 1000kg for green waste. This was completely impossible as Im removing a hedge along my driveway and was on my second truckload weighing out. (A single load in my pickup is max 150 kilos). I was also questioned whether or not I was running a business due to my high frequency of green waste disposal. I dont mind the attendant asking each time if the purpose is business or not, but not sure why the presumption that im running a business due to my high number of green waste trips (id be broke if this was a business Lol). I then returned later in the day and was told upon weighing in that "earlier there was a computer glitch and that i hadnt earlier exceeded the daily limit"- youve got to be kidding me? The person I was dealing with was pleasant and appologetic but i call BS on the "computer glitch". There was no further explanation from them -possibly many people prior were overcharged before they discovered the "glitch". I suppose the lesson learned is to pay atrention to your weigh in and out totals as there coild be an unexplainable glitch resulting in a ridiculously high bill. I was told I could call the city of metro vancouver if I had further questions on how their system works. To boot the attendant couldnt call up my weigh in /out history for the day. Im not sure what kind of computer system they have in place but please it cant be that complicated. I wouldnt mind an explanation on how the system works but can guarantee if i call city of metro vancouver I wont reveive any sort of explanation.

Come here only if you don’t have another choice.

I went around 12 pm on Saturday and it was less crowded. So payed $15.

Understaffed. Lines are unnecessarily long. One person in the pay booth where there should be minimum 2.

This dump is very organized. It gets pretty busy during peak hours especially on weekends. I am Impressed on how quick I can get through even when busy. It has a recycle area which is free!

FLAT TIRE for the SECOND time. We went to the recycle area there was stuff on the road area I thought I really looked as it happened before but sure enough I got a screw driver type thing stuck in my tire. They need to sweep all areas not just some! That was an expensive trip as it had to be totally replaced. Not happy and now need to go again!

Recycling part is fine. The garbage part is a SCAM. Went in and did not throw away anything and apparently my car magically got lighter when I drove out and was asked to pay 18 dollar fee.

Terribly organized and unsafe. Overloaded on weekends with no one supervising cars/parking. Long line ups as those wanting to use the recycling area must wait in the same line up as those with household waste-no one set up to direct traffic. Now using huge inaccessible Smithrite containers for recycling that you need to access by climbing up long unsafe slippery metal steps while carrying your recycling materials and containers. The site is dangerous and not organized to encourage people to use it. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen!

The recycling side is littered with screws waiting to puncture your tires (got me twice so far). They should use a magnetic sweeper. There is often a long and unnecessary wait just for free local green waste too. I miss the dedicated green waste scale run by the city, now there is no other option.

I was there last week & got a screw in the tire while dropping off in the recycle Center. Fortunately another user pointed it out so straight to the tire store, 40$ and 2 hours wasted getting that done. On a 2nd trip to drop off a large household item got pulled aside & yelled at by the flag guy. This place should not be open to the public.

Very nice people working here. Place is pretty clean compare to other dump place. They also made it very easy for people coming to drop off their recycles.

I actually cannot give a full review as I have never visited it for dumping. The staff are relatively friendly. Yard is fairly clean and taken care of. They open early and are open alot of the year.

In all the past 11 years I have gone to the land fill in Coquitlam I have never ever seen it like it is now. The line ups are now over a hour to get in and out. I usually go around 2-3 time a month so I know what it use to be like before the new company took it over. I can under stand there will be some difficulties starting with an new company/crew but this is way out of hand. I would be worried of frustrated customer starting to dump their garbage in random (non landfill) places because the land fill is become unbearable.
