Courtyard by Marriott Nanaimo

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff are so friendly and attentive that you feel welcome and cared for. The facility is clean and the breakfast is excellent. It is so good to have a new, fresh hotel in the downtown core of Nanaimo. The downtown core has been hotel deprived for so long. The others took advantage of the location for many years. Congratulations on the great opening. The rooms are clean and fresh and it is going to be a continued excellent location for years to come.

In the very hart of Nanaimo. Absolutely brand new hotel. Very comfortable rooms. There is kinda aquacenter inside. Very modest but quite tasty breakfast. Receptionist didn’t allow us to check-out later than 11am.

The hotel is new, and beautiful inside. But there were some issues during my stay:

1. My room had a shower bathroom. This was a getaway trip, and I was looking forward to soaking in the bath tub. I called the reception to change my room because of this, and they found another room that was a double queen instead of a king, but told me I’ll have to pay the difference in price. The receptionist also told me to first come down, collect new keys, go back up to 8th floor, decide, then come back down again. I had to ask if they could just meet me upstairs and take me to the room.
2. On my second day, I had to call for housekeeping to clean my room, but was told housekeeping only cleans every other day.
3.they have no room service options.
4. No food options.

All in all, I came for a get away to have a relaxing time. But didn’t get any of the perks that paying for a Marriott provides

This is a very nice Hotel. We stayed in room 418 on April 9th. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff here were amazing both at the desk and in the Bistro. This would have easily been 5 stars but the parking was an issue. When paying a hotel to stay they should always offer no charge parking. Most guests are going to be coming from out of town so it makes sense to offer parking no charge. When we went to our car in morning their was a junkie sitting on down behind our car rolling something off the ground. Made my wife very uncomfortable. It makes me think that the hotel is located in a part of town with homeless junkies around. Not safe. For this we paid $9 a night. I would write a letter to the city and have them clean out the homeless people there to make it safe for your guests.

I was pretty upset to hear about the management in this new establishment will not be staying here.

Very disappointed to hear that the manager of this hotel is treating persons rudely. Will not be staying at this hotel, nor recommending due to managements nonexistent professionalism.

Awesome new hotel. Clean rooms and great service at the restaurant! Friendly staff all around during my stay!

The bald manager is unbelievably rude.will never be staying at a marriott again I am appalled at the service.

The management is extremely rude and disrespectful. Will not be staying here or recommending to anyone.
