Popped my tube after crossing the iron workers bridge, absolute gems of a guy that works here. Was able to borrow a pump and clutch a crazy deal for a tube that you couldn’t find anywhere in Vancouver. Go here.
Epic service, speedy turn around, priced for riders, and amazing staff! They helped me out of a bind big time, and got me sorted super quick while in BC on a riding trip. Otherwise my trip was finished. Thanks so much again guys! Cove Bikes holding down since the beginning. Legends! I will be back!: D
I would give these guys a billion stars if that was an option. Best bike shop ever. These guys are honest, friendly, hard working and reliable. They always do their best to get things done fast without up selling you on unnecessary stuff. They work so hard and should be recognized for the great team that they are. I will always recommend them to everyone I talk to. Best shop around hands down.
I had an amazing experience with this shop from phone call traight through service. Great rate! They got me in and out super last minute. Chad and Gerrard really helped me out in a pinch! Class acts! Thanks guys!
Gerard was my hero last week. I nearly got my front tire stolen, instead someone loosened by wheel and didn’t steal it (because they realized it was locked up). I nearly didn’t make it home. Quick pit stop and lucky Gerard came out to see if everything was ok. He fixed me right back up and I got home safe. Thanks Gerard!
This is the place to go if you want to be talked down to and feel that your business isn’t worth their time. When I actually went back to the shop I could hear the passive aggressive comments to other customers after one employee hangs up the phone. I had experienced the same tone and talking when I called to inquire about services and timelines. The same employee talks down to customers that are in the store.
Turn over time was fast. But I did need to bring the bike back as it was running worse that it was before I brought it in. I then was explained to like I was incompetent.
Cove bike shop is STILL legendary. Chaz and his team know mounting bikes better than most; thanks to 30 years in the business. Easy going attitude and great advice from this shop. Thanks for getting my brakes all sorted out; dialling the rest of the bike too!
Ignorance at it's finest and exactly the same as Maxime Ferlac here. I appreciate you may be busy but I think that's the rudest customer service I've had in the two years of being in Canada.
I called to ask a general question and started by explaining the backstory on my bike to be butted in by saying you need to take it to Giant (which I have already have and hadn't been given the 5 seconds to explain this). To then be told 7-10 days which I went to explain that's the same time as.boom hung up.
Just had 2 basic short questions and the guy wanted to hang up the phone as soon as possible without answering them because they dont make the bike anymore.shame i bought a shifter at this place a few months ago and i regret, next time ill go back at dream cycle.at least they talk to me as a human being. AVOID
Dropped in to get a wheel trued + buy another wheel, expecting to have to wait a week+ with how backed up many places are. I was pleasantly surprised that they worked on it right away, and they even adjusted my brakes / shifters free of charge within ~20 minutes (which saved me some time). As others mentioned, their pricing is very fair - I expected to pay much more for a wheel (albeit used, which I was advised it was) + service. I also was able to source an uncommon rear derailleur hanger from them for WAY cheaper than anywhere else. Will definitely come back again.
Beware of used parts sold as new, and the line: "I'll give you a deal. " Two other postings mirror similar experience when it comes to service and repairs. I remember years ago Numb Nuts just laughing when I brought in what should've been a warranty repair for poorly constructed wheels.
I was referred to Cove Bikes by a friend of mine. I went in to have my pedals swapped for SPD pedals, my tire replaced and get a regular tune-up. They told me it would be ready in a week which was great since I was expecting to have it back for my trip to the Sunshine Coast. I called a few times after a week and was told it would be another day or two, though the person I was speaking to seemed to have no recollection of my bike or the service needing to be done. I picked up my bike 2 weeks later and noticed I was invoiced for a chain replacement (which wasn't mentioned) and when I went to use the SPD pedals, I noticed they were put in backwards. I had to take it somewhere else to get it put on properly. Will not be returning.
Went to visit Vancouver for the weekend. Broke a pedal on the mountain. Arrived at The Cove after being turned down by 3 other repair shops. The Cove also had a 2 week backlog of maintenance appointments but decided to take a look. I needed a helicoil. The man at the front desk yelled to the shop: "hey, can you do a quick helicoil for this guy? ! ", the guy in the back replied: "Sure! ". I don't know if he had to work through his lunch to get it done but they told me to come back in an hour. After an hour my bike was ready to roll and I could enjoy my weekend of riding on the North Shore. Amazing service!
Just a great bunch of people running this shop. Came in with a flat. I asked for them to fix it for me and they had it done in 15 minutes. They saw that I had my son with me and threw in some stickers. Ended up buying some pedals as well. Happy to support a place like this all day. My new go to spot for all things bike related.
Staff always take the time to be helpful, even if they don't make a sale they have your best interest at heart to steer you in the right direction. I would recommend their services, they are quick, efficient & knowledgeable
I was unlucky enough to blow my tyre half way along my cycle. However I was lucky enough to have it happen almost right outside this shop. Despite it being after hours, they happily replaced both my tube and tyre. They were very understanding, and very helpful when picking a tyre. I can't recommend this place enough!
This bike shop has probably been around the longest on the North Shore And when i had a small issue with the bike i bought from them years ago they were thoughtfull enough to replace a part and devective accessory without charge which was not expected but greatly appreciated and goes to show you how they appreciate thier customers business.
Placed a call for a part on Monday. They ordered it with no deposit and a promise it would be there next day. They even opened early and had it ready to go.
Terrible customer service! Visiting from the UK and my bike which I brought over with me had an issue with the derailleur. I walk in to speak to the guy at the desk I tell him the problem and he says "No we don't waste our time in stuff like that" couldn't believe that to be honest very rude man! Anyway I went to MEC and they fixed it for free, very generous workers in MEC.
They helped me with assembling my new bike about 2 months ago. Very good customer service, and the owner was very understanding and compassionate. I find them easygoing and a pleasure to do business with. Definitely would recommend to my friends and family!:)
The guys are awesome. I had to change out my tires on my bike last minute and they snuck me in on a Friday when everyone else said “sorry we are too busy” even when I was a multiple return customer at another shop. Granted it was last minute due to an unexpected tire issue but not everything is planned and was heading out of town with the bike. Really appreciative of the guys.earned more of my business with all the bikes in my family.
I bough a Kona mountain bike from the shop in 2011 and they had a very good customer service. The best thing about the shop was their maintenance service cost which was very reasonable and sometimes even free (only charged for the parts).
