Food is good. No service to speak of. No smiles, no thanks, stone faced. Even MacDonald's reception is far better than CQ Express'.

I love the food here, always fresh, and made on the spot, very delicious and friendly helpful staff!

Terrible service from the Asian lady that works the phone. She doesn't even know the directions to her on restaurant. Kept saying by IHOP and fitness world when that's on the complete other side.

Food is pretty bad to. No flavoring and falls apart.

Custom ordered the Beef Noodle stir-fry (without onions) for $13.86 incl taxes. Flavour was good, you can tell by the colour of the noodles. It was hot. Portion size was above expectation and the amount of beef slices was generous. Overall, I would order again.

Food is great but what a horrible service.
The lady who is always there is so rude! She needs to be trained on how to treat customers. She made me feel very unwelcome

Kids and I come here all the time for take-out. We generally order online before coming so we get the dimsum that we want. There are couple of ladies at the front - one is very friendly and service-oriented so our rating is for her. We like the dimsum and recommend it. If you're looking for ladies to cart around fresh dimsum, this place is obviously not for you. However, if you're craving some dimsum on the go, we enjoy what they offer.

Today, the server and the cook kept shouting at each others. Not sure if it's just normal Cantonese thing or actually arguing. Either way, very annoying for all the customers. Everyone turned their heads to look and were confused.

Idk what happened to this place. They started off with really cute dim sum, unique pieces, and made-to-order dishes. They still do the made-to-order thing but the quality of the food has definitely take a turn and the dim sum is no longer unique.
The standard for taste has definitely dropped.
For service, today seemed off; there was one person working (?) and they seemed like they were having a really rough day.

We were satisfied with our order.
Service was efficient but kind enough.
DimSum taste good, warm and fresh.
Lunch set special was freshly cook to order,
Ginger beef crispy and tasty.
General Tso's Chicken was yummy too.
Fried rice, Both corn soup and Hot & Sour soup were ok.
Worth what we paid for.
We'll be back.

Their Family Set is probably one of the best deals in this inflationary environment. Live-cooked, fully packed, and taste good, can't ask for more.

The lady at the cash is the rudest person I have ever encountered. The food was over priced, the meat was chewy, the dumplings cold and the shrimp over battered. Would never ever go back…. But mostly because of the rude lady.

Delicious, underrated gem. Ordered pan fried rice noodles with beef, Sichuan green beans and hot & sour soup. Amazing wok hei, hot and fresh cooked food to order. Really good

Would absolutely NOT recommend, there are plenty of other alternative food options in the mall. Ordered the beef and eggplant, fried shrimp and chicken fried rice and 4 dumplings. The dumplings were COLD, the shrimp was all breading and over fried, the rice had zero flavor but the worse was the beef and eggplant. Just horrible. All of this was made 1000% worse by the extremely rude lady at the cash. I would never go back.

This place has excellent food and service.
The server is so kind and fast.
Have visited twice in the past 2 weeks and will definitely be coming back again.

The food I tried was okay, but it wasn't great. The lady working at the front was friendly, so I appreciated that.

Got the family feast and was surprised how good everything tasted since my expectation was more quick food court level quality. The three main dish and two side dishes easily fulfills 5 adults so there is great value too.

Tried the lunch special as well as some dimsum. The dessert buns looked fantastic, especially the very adorable pigs, but that was unfortunately the highlight of the experience.
The hot and sour soup smelled intensely chemical, reminiscent of some sort of paint thinner. The chicken pie came in a pastry shell that was essentially raw dough, and when we informed the woman at the counter she repeatedly informed us that this was the way it was supposed to be. Would absolutely not recommend, there are plenty of other alternative food options in the mall.

Quality food with fair price.
I often order there for instant grab-a-bite. It's very convenient and simple process for ordering online and pick up.

For the price, the food is very good. I usually order fried rice and beef and broccoli. The cashiers are always friendly and nice to me. We order dim sum every now and then and enjoy the shrimp dumpling and sticky rice wrap.

Surprisingly fast for made to order dishes. Mapo Tofu was excellent. (I would personally say it's their best dish) Lives up to it's fresh cooked claim for dine in customers.

Awful.just awful.
1. Ordered some dimsum. Told me that they were out of shrimp dumplings and to come back in 10 minutes even though I was eating in and could wait.
2. They've changed how some of their items are produced. Pork and shrimp dumplings are now made with sinewy, tough, roughly chopped pieces of pork. Very difficult to eat. Shrimp dumplings used to be 70% shrimp, 30% wrapper. They flipped them around.
3. They clearly don't get enough business because the deep fried taro dumpling and daikon cake were clearly re-fried.
4. Their tables are STICKY. Asked them to wipe one down and they handed me some napkins to do it myself. Did it myself. Turns out the stickiness is a result of poorly maintained tables as wiping them down did nothing. All of them need to be refinished.
5. Asked for a Coke. They pointed to the display of pop buried in ice beside the cashier. Apparently, they carry a variety of Cokes with no sugar but not actual Coke.

You have to be pretty special to serve a meal that's so bad that it makes the customer want to immediately end their entire trip to the mall.

Extremely rude service for food not fully cooked!

Chose the dumplings many times in the past, especially the black custard dumpling.

I was giving two that were very undercooked runny like uncooked egg. When it should be a breaded custard inside (per their description). Top or the bread was hard as rock indicating it might have been microwaved.

Went back to ask why it was runny and tried to explain it was undercooked. They became upset and insisted it was steamed twice and it normally looks like that.

They reluctantly gave us two other dumplings but very rudely. I am happy they at least gave us replacement but shouldn't be serving uncooked food.

Cook/cashier working tonight was extremely rude, fyi. I wanted to buy dimsum, he called me over to the dimsum area. I have no idea type of dimsum these were (pork, custard, etc) based on just looking at them so i wanted to walk over to where the menu is to read what's inside so i can pick. He stopped me, saying i cant do that, only pick from the dimsum in front of us. I tried to explain i only want to look at the menu so i have an idea which ones i should pick. He still didnt let me look at the menu and just wanted me to pick dimsum in front of him on the spot, without even knowing what types they are. Why would i want to buy after getting that insanely rude treatment?

Last Friday February 25th, they were closed but at 5: 30. I asked the staff and he didn’t reply or response correctly. So we asked the Cashier same thing, we could not get answer from them like ignoring us. So we just walked away

1. The square shaped, clear plastic lids used for dim sum were not able to withstand the heat of the food. When I brought the food home, the lid was partially melted.

2. In July I was able to use my Amex card at this location. Even though CQ Express is still listed on the Amex Shop Small directory, they now refuse to accept the card.

We ordered the package deal thru website and got there was super busy. Yet, only one chef, one person at the cashier, and one person for packing … it was shocking to see only one person in the kitchen why food was so bad …. Even we pick up the food on time. Still, all our food was cold, and particular ginger pork was black… that didn't taste burnt but look not pleasing to eat.

I was wondering if the boss was “trying” to save money so only schedule 1 person in the kitchen … it was just upsetting because we hardly eat out, and when you purchased food and this was what you see.never go back again

I wouldn’t say it’s my most favourite Chinese Food but it’s definitely the cleanest I have ever seen. They have a well set up and everything seems hygienic. Got tray food, one of them (tofu/shrimp) was not so good but rest of the food was delicious.

I have to say that they did a phenomenal job in the interior design! Very trendy! CQ brings much-needed foot traffic to Lougheed Mall. If you prefer, you can order combos or individual meals through their self-pay machines (screen format is similar to McDonald’s). The bowl at $9 is so filling and you can order a soup or salad (greens or fruit) as a side for $2-3 extra. I saw 3 combos (dim sum/combo 3/combo 5) on the screen. Some of the dim sums have cute animal faces. I will definitely visit again soon!

Small portions for dim sum for 2 its about $22. The steamed spareribs was quite salty the rest of the items was pretty good. I like how clean it is for a fast food chinese place.

No thanks, feb 26th watched one of the young male staff cough/clear his throat all over the food, then when he saw me watching him, turned his head to cough/clear his throat the next time, which was all over the chef and the food he was cooking.

Good quality authentic dim sum at an excellent price point (~$5 for a 4-piece/item dim sum dish). Best thing is you can mix and match any 4, meaning you can satisfy all your cravings without over ordering, especially when it's just 1 or 2 people eating. On par with most common dim sum restaurants, and the food variety is diverse. Service is fast and efficient at the counter or the self serve kiosks. Main complaints would be that they sometimes run out of certain food items, and that the food gets cold pretty quickly.

It's a amazing place. I love dim sum, it's super delicious. Ginger beef, sweet sour pork are my favorites. I especially like to use kioski to order, fast and save time.
