Our sunny Sunday adventure led us to Cypress Waterfalls in BC, and what a day it was! Hiking with friends was a blast, and this trail was just right – short, easy, and full of natural beauty. The round-trip to the falls spanning about 3 km made for a perfect hour-long trek.

The highlight? The falls, of course! Nature's spectacle, the cascading water was a sight to behold. But what added magic to the hike was the small stream on the way back. We paused there for a lunch break, and the stream's vivid green hue was absolutely breathtaking.

This trail isn't just about the falls; it's about the journey. The lush surroundings, chirping birds, and the serene atmosphere made the hike a memorable experience. Plus, taking a breather by that stunningly vibrant stream was a picture-perfect moment. Cypress Waterfalls is a gem for an easy yet enchanting hike amidst nature's splendor.

Spectacular park with thick foliage and old trees. There was still quite a bit of filtered sunlight coming through which made for a magical feel when walking through the forest on a sunny day. Going down to the water was a tad tricky but not impossible. Well worth it for the view and serenity! Highly recommended. On our return near sunset many families with kids were walking down the path with whole pizzas to consume and picnic with. The only negative was the parking, it had a full lot and we had to walk a few blocks just to get to the entrance!

Nice hike.not all the paths are carved be ready with rough roots and it seems like a natural walk

Nice hiking trails to see the fabulous views of the waterfall. Well maintained environment and free parking available on site. It takes about 40 mins total.

Amazing trails. Not much I. Terms of stairs but more or less raw nature with roots and rocks as your stairs. This is not for beginners though. Watch out for the signs and they are few and small signs informing you where you can go.

Wonderful short hike. At this time of year it’s still covered with snow and some sections are slippery, especially downhill. Suggest some crampons if you want more sure footing. Falls are lovely. Nobody around because it’s early season.

Beautiful short hike in rain forest with 2 waterfalls, ferns, canyon, moss, rocks, roots, bridge and ups and downs
23 January 2023 11:29
Relatively easy hike through old growth forest with fabulous views of river and waterfalls! Definitely recommend as a day trip!

Great short trail for beginners. It's almost 1.5-2 hours long. Last part to upper falls is bit difficult. Portable Rest room is at starting. You can take bath at lower falls.
08 September 2022 8:32
Beautiful views. Trail options not so well marked, but pretty logical overall. Has steep trail, also more gentle.
03 September 2022 22:14
Was a good hike, not very long or difficult a big plus was there was not too many people most the time it was just us.

What a lovely and magical place! Experience an easy and short hike to the falls. The only qualm I have is that you can't get right up close to the falls.but it's still beautiful!

This is a Great Hike and lower falls is amazing, but take the time and go up to Upper falls to round off this Epic Adventure. For a Youtuber we look for Epic adventures and this was something that Vancity Adventure really enjoyed

Great, easy hike for the family, falls were beautiful but smaller due to heat and lack of water. Will have to try again in fall or spring.
27 September 2021 20:44
Really great hike but it is by no means “easy”. Lots of incline. Better view of the bigger water fall if you stick to the left (don’t cross the bridge!). There are orange markers. Moderate hike for sure.

Bus 253 takes you from Park Royal mall through a winding bus ride through some of Canada’s priciest real estate to the park entrance. Uphill Hike through North Shore rain forest in a stream valley. Could be slippy if wet, signage / way finding is poor, nonexistent. Ask fellow hikers for direction. Intermediate level hike, not for beginners, rock and root outcrops, climbs and descents required. Try Lynn Valley for a gentler hike if desired.

Pretty cool but the trail does get kind of confusing. Didn't cross the bridge. Follow the orange markers on the trees.
09 September 2021 19:00
Make sure to go past the first bridge and get onto a service road where there are these blue mushroom looking metal items on the right side. Pretty easy hike if you're wearing proper shoes and it's mostly covered so the sun doesn't make you too hot.

5 stars for the access to such a beautiful area. A heads up - it’s a bit rough in some areas and don’t cross the 1st large bridge if you want a good view of the 2nd falls and the trails are rougher and not well marked on that side. We arrived there at noon on a (cloudy) Sunday and there was still lots of parking. There are no out houses and bring your own water.

Great mid-difficulty level trail end with gorgeous twin falls. Two small free parking lots for not more than 50 cars. I enjoyed this trail with my family (2 kids) for 3 hours return walking.
20 August 2021 4:45
Good place to hike with lot shade during summer. There is a parking hidden from the parking entrance, so drive little up inside to park. The trail is no paved and with lot of rocks and can get steep at few places. Our kids enjoyed the hike but I had to carry my 3 year old little one on my back at some steep paths. The path is marked so look around to find the right path.
09 August 2021 15:24
Easy hike up to the waterfall! Best part of the area is actually hanging out by the creek when it's really hot. It's so refreshing!
08 August 2021 17:44
Current parking lot is small, unable to get one after 10am today. I was lost after no tree markers located. Noted several new post installed in some trail but waiting for proper signage to be put up I guess.

A beautiful park with rugged trails and Cypress Creek. You can swim and soak in the cool creek or view the waterfall.
29 June 2021 5:31
Pretty. Don’t cross the first bridge. Stay on the left side of the water till the second little bridge. You’ll eventually reach a fence with a liability notice, walk a little farther and you’ll get to the big fall
20 June 2021 12:53
Great place for family and dog! Trail mark is not clear in the middle of the Trail. The fall is OK. The lake is beautiful.
23 May 2021 13:02
It is good for a calm n long walk. Theres a walk in the woods and so calm and silent around. The walk to the small falls is hardly a small walk. For the big fallsake sure you come with time in hand and during daylight. The only bad part I'd say is there are no washrooms around. So be careful. There's another entrance if you park you car at the park walk straight ahead on the road the walk is a lot but the view from the spaces of the houses is soo pretty. There is another entrance on the top for the cypress water falls

Was described to me as an easy hike, which if you are in good condition it likely is. But I have major knee, hip and lower back issues and I found the hike a bit more strenuous on my hip flexors and knees than I had expected. But its wasnt a long hike so that helped. It was very beautiful and not too busy at all. I would go again when my pain is better

Came to this place last weekend. Took us around 3 hours to get to the furthest falls and back. Note we took a while exploring the park and icy conditions meant it took us an extra 1 hour. Very unique hike! Plenty of pretty streams, old growth trees, and 2 stunning falls. Definetly a great easy hike near Vancouver! Makes it feel like your far from the city!
10 September 2019 16:33
Nice short hike.terrain is a bit rough with tree roots past the half way point of the hike, but nothing too treacherous. When you get 3/4 of the way, you will come to a fence that says the area beyond here is private and they don't maintain the trails, you're going at your own risk. Don't let that put you off, you have to keep going to get to the top of the falls. You can't actually get that close to the falls though, so a bit disappointing in the end.parking is okay.could get busy if they have a baseball game going (there is a baseball diamond at the bottom of the park). Luckily nothing happening at 9am in the morning.can't vouch for later in the day.
17 August 2019 11:53
Very beautiful park with pretty little traffic. Definitely recommend for nice days when other parks are packed. We took the trail all the way to the upper falls and continued to the upper bridge, then took the forest service road back to the parking lot.
06 August 2019 17:18
Nice short hike, not hard but lots of little offshoot trails you can do. Views are gorgeous along the way. Went first thing on a Sunday and it was very quiet. Not a lot of room for parking
13 July 2019 13:52
I really like walking there it’s wild and clean as if it was far away from humans!:) the water is nicely refreshing and so tasty:)
01 July 2019 15:20
The trail was a bit confusing. We got lost, but we were able to go near a larger water fall in the park where the normal trail would not have taken us. It was a good hike
29 June 2019 15:08
A small park with a few steep trails following the watercourse. Not much at the top but a road and new neighbourhoods being built. Cool bridge and waterfall about halfway up. Parking and a sports field by the trailhead.
22 June 2019 4:50
A very nice and easy 3 km hike that takes you to a small waterfall and stream bank. Great to do with kids. There's a portable toilet in the parking lot.
01 June 2019 6:33
We went there in February. Snow was not the biggest problem but the marks. Not very well marked, we could finish the loop but turned back same way at some point.

Will try again soon after the snow is all gone.
