Those guys from this Dairy Queen store did beautiful job on my family ice cream order. Best than the pic inside the store. Congratulations for those professional people
Firstly, no A/C while waiting too long (wasn’t even busy that hot day). It was suggested I buy the most expensive chicken burger - just under 18 bucks. What came was a soggy, flat, with 4 shreds of lettuce that was no better than McDonalds fish-filet. The grilled chicken apparently was a processed chicken nugget. It didn’t sit well in the stomach but was supposed to as it was supposed to be grilled. Never again will I go to this place - In fact it will be McDonalds for now on
Had some DQ burgers. Not bad, you get more than other places, 3 patties in a burger, can barely put it in your mouth, but they're pretty ok. Youll get pretty full on that burger. On the island DQ is definitely better than McDonalds. But nothing stands close to Wendy's, best burgers on the island for sure. From a fast food place at least.
Very disappointed with the service from the lady at the til; my family and I ordered blizzard - my husband and I asked for extra cheesecake as a topping (not well blended and the lady said, you're making our life difficult) was waiting to see if she was joking and she wasn't. How rude! Came today, July 3, at 3: 00pm.
Really friendly service, ice cream was DQ standard, so A+ there. Can tell the building is getting a bit old and need of a full Reno though. Overall does the trick for a blizzard fix
Lobby was very dirty, after cleaning up a table and seats the staff closed it off and moved us to another part of the restaurant which was also dirty. She refused to help us clean it when we asked as we moved, we ended up cleaning that table and seats as well.
Very dissatisfied with the service and products we received. We ordered 3 blizzards and a small cone. The cashier rang up the blizzards but missed the cone so had to do another transaction, not a huge deal… I was handed the small cone and asked about the blizzards, the man said, oh give me that cone back, um no, would you give it to another customer after I touched it? Finally received our blizzards, the kids were very disappointed in them, barely any candy in them, very soupy and one had mint in it when it shouldn’t have, had to throw it out. My Grandson used the washroom and he said it filthy. The whole front of the store didn’t look very clean. Won’t be stopping at this DQ again
With only a lineup of about 8 people it took us over 30 minutes to get a basic order of a couple blizzards, fries and one burger.
I ordered a raspberry fudge bliss blizzard, to which the employee later on told me wasn’t stocked so I had to pick a different one, so I picked strawberry cheesecake. Upon receiving our 2 blizzards and getting in our vehicle we realized that the employees hadn’t put any toppings in our blizzards at all, they were just ice cream with whatever flavouring gets added but no toppings at all. If they were out of ingredients for these blizzards I wish they would have just told us so we could have got something else, what a sad waste of money, we will not be returning to any Dairy Queen any time soon.
The food itself was so subpar and expensive. For the same price I could get 2 burgers from McDonald’s and have a way better food quality experience.
Very poor service. Had to wait several minutes for someone to come take my order. Then after waiting another 15 minutes asked where my order was. It had been missed. They apologized and quickly put it together. After all that wait the meal wasn't what was ordered. Unforunately I didn't discover that till I got home. We usually stop at the Ladysmith DQ on the way to our lake property and I would give them 5*. Parksville DQ, I only give 1* and suggest they go to Ladysmith for some training.
Upon further reflection, my last review may have been a little unfair. The restaurant was a bit busy and the employees did what they could to get everyone's order correct with as little wait times as possible. Possibly they kitchen staff could take a little more time even when really busy to prepare and assemble and package of the food.
Every time I come here, which is frequent, I'm met with absolutely no enthusiasm from the staff, and frequently am left waiting for food I've ordered for over ten minutes while other people behind me get their food before me. Today, I ordered a burger and onion rings. By the time I got to eating, both of my items were cold because they had clearly been left waiting. I am severely unimpressed with this level of "fast" food location
We asked for no nuts in the Blizzard and for the machine to be cleaned prior to the Blizzard being made. When we found multiple nuts in the Blizzard we had to quickly administer Benadryl. Great customer service and attention to detail when someone says they are allergic to nuts. Thanks a lot Dairy Queen Parksville!
The staff at the Parkville location was very friendly.efficient and knowledgeable. And the honey BBQ sauce on the chicken strips was absolutely delicious. Restaurant.washrooms included.very clean. Very accessible with decent parking Will definitely return.
Terrible and rude service! Will never return. Absolute disgraceful behaviour. Saving grace was a young girl who worked here who came over, apologised on her co-workers behalf and wished us a nice day- she was actually great. Wish I had gotten her name. But the rest of the staff here were a rude joke.
Basic ice cream with bad customer service. I was using the debit machine and the tap was not working. So I then put in my password and get it incorrect. After the second time it manged to work. I fell bad for holding up the line so I apologize. Once we get our ice cream we head out to eat it on the benches. My friend who was with me then explains to me that the person helping me was rolling her eyes at me well I was paying. A very childish thing to do. Won't be going back. I do not like to complain but that was uncalled for.
I'm not here to call anyone out but the staff has generally been rude lately and it comes off as though they don't care. The portion sizes are kind of hit and miss. Recently the portion sizes are shockingly small. I think maybe the staff isn't getting adequate training or something. Overall I am a bit dissapointed with the service.
Could be better. Staff need more training on how to pour ice cream into a cone and not make it a Leaning Tower of Pisa. Furthermore for the blizzard i have had better elsewhere. Please hire staff who actually want to work there. May need to avoid this place in the future if service does not improve
Got some burgers here and it was not very good. Bread was super stale, bacon was not cooked thoroughly on the bacon burgers and my wife found dog hair in her burger. Do not recommend.
The staff is so friendly and helpful. Who can resist a classic Blizzard? Did you know that they will mix your Blizzard with ANYTHING? ! Beef patty, slush drink flavours, cone dip or flame sauce.
Terribly site service. Did for 5 minutes before anyone took our order. We left with our order but discovered the fries were RAW and still frozen in the centre. I can not recommend this DQ until they get better trained staff.
Worst DQ I've ever been too. Slow service. Really cheap with thier fudge and toppings. Fries over cooked and cheese burgers drowned in mustard. Disappointing
The young lady that took my order tonight was very good to deal with. The food was good, the place was clean. The staff were awesome. Thank you for the great experience.
Great place for ice cream, nice place but had to patiently wait for the young girl in the kitchen to finish messaging on her phone and then watch her trying to assemble my burger in between messages while having her phone propped next to my food. Then proceeded to text and handle my food. Very unhygienic and very unprofessional.
Got to love the DQ mushroom burger. It was delicious. I don't eat a lot of fasr food but when I do its gotta be DQ especially for the desserts. I love their blizzards. The staff are young but friendly, efficient and generally always smiling. Parking can be a bit of an issue but not if you go after the suppose rush. Keep up the good work.
Went into this DQ about 10: 30 am a couple of weeks ago to pick up a cake for my nieces birthday, no cakes were available, asked what time they will have some cakes as we didn’t need it right away and were informed that they need 24 hours notice? The lack of empathy from the staff was also disappointing as we were made to feel it was an outrageous request to come to Dairy Queen and request an ice cream cake with only 8 hours of notice. I didn’t care if it was blank or said Merry Christmas, I just wanted what I thought was a standard issue Ice cream cake.
I have been to many Dairy Queen’s that have cakes readily available but apparently that isn’t a thing here I guess it was my fault for assuming a Dairy Queen would have cakes. I’ll be sure to check the local Tim Hortons has coffee 24 hours before my next visit.
Never any cakes in their freezer. Grubby. Sketchy people always hanging around. We head all the way to Courtenay’s DQ rather than go to this Parksville location. Also.cant help but notice that all the 1 star ratings just get the same old copy and paste response from the manager!
