Days Inn by Wyndham Golden

The place was great, nice & clean. Food in the restaurant was awesome as was the breakfast that was included by staying. I will surely recommend the Day's Inn to anybody that asks about it.

I was disappointed there was no handicapped parking on the property and we ended up parking across the parking lot. I thought a business had to dedicate 5% of their parking spaces for the handicapped. ALSO, there was no luggage cart. Both my 86 year old mother and myself are handicapped and getting our luggage into the room was a problem. The 2 males at the front desk the night we checked in did not offer to help in any way and watched us struggle with the luggage across the parking lot. The next morning it was an issue getting it back to our car.

That night we had brought food with us. I went to the restaurant and asked if we could borrow a plate and I would return it right away. At first the male server (?) said no, but a girl came and gave me a plate from the breakfast buffet and told me to leave it in the room when we leave.

I could not get the shower to work in the room. I phoned the front desk and the girl that answered told me to push a button. There was no button to push. I washed in the sink. I then went to operate the blow dryer and it was not working. I phoned the front desk again. I asked her to send someone to the room. The person that came to the room could not get the blow dryer to work either and said she would replace it after we left. She did get the shower working though, apparently you PULL the entire handle out. When I did it, I thought I was going to break it.

I would not stay again, knowing there is no handicapped parking, and no luggage cart. I would DEFINATELY NOT RECOMMEND this hotel for the reasons mentioned above and because this hotel was $217.00 per night - the most expensive and the worst hotel we stayed in all week. The front desk clerk told me it was "Summertime". It was Summertime in Golden a week prior and we paid $128.00 for the night, it was Summertime in Langley and we paid $136.00 for the night in a beautiful hotel, it was Summertime in Victoria and we paid $156.00 for the night. It was Summertime in Lake Country and we paid $171.00 for the night. There is absolutely no explanation why you charge $217.00 for this room - with no handicapped parking, no luggage cart, no working fixtures, no help from the front desk staff, and no nearby amenities or tourist attractions - certainly not like Victoria. This hotel was almost $90 more than the other Golden hotel we stayed in a week prior.

Nice quiet spot, the breakfast was really good. The bathtub was gross (don’t put a jetted tub in a room if you aren’t going to clean it!), the sheets were thread bare, and the towels were small and scratchy.

Terrible hotel! Staff were very rude and short upon arrival and the hotel does not look like the photo very old and rundown, to elsewhere.

Dirty, old and very run down. We were offered a different room after reporting the toilet had diarrhoea residue in it and the bed was sagging badly. Both rooms we occupied had furniture that was torn, scraped, damaged or stained. The breakfast was also disappointing. I expect more from Wyndham.

The pool has a wicked waterslide and hottub. Nice spot up on the hill before gettin into golden.

Me and my boyfriend arrived at the hotel and our room smelled funny. We found a Tupperware of old rotten fruit alongside an old takeout container with it.
We decided to go for dinner and a drink at their restaurant with a full menu but they would only serve salads and the waitress made us feel unwelcome right from the get go before we were even seated, we ended up driving into town to have dinner. When we tried to talk to let front desk know about the food in the room they just smiled and said okay? Such a bad stay, beds were hard and all around bad experience

Clean, friendly and professional. The staff worked had to make our stay comfortable and safe. Facilities were excellent and the kids lived the pool waterside. Thanks!
Easy access to the Highway in both directions!

I think the worst part was the cockroach in the bathroom. First time I have ever seen a cockroach in a Canadian hotel.

The second worst part was that we accidentally left two apple chargers with adapters and charging pad in the room and they were only able to find a single cord. Quite frustrating.

The bed was mediocre, the location was great. Will not stay again, because cockroaches.

Incredibly meh - water damage in the room and breakfast was really barebones and gross. Unfortunately the best days for this Days Inn are long behind it.

We stayed for one night in a double queen pet-friendly room with our kitty cat and thoroughly enjoyed our time there! Clean and very sizeable rooms with everything we needed, beautiful views of all the mountains around, and a great continental breakfast. The one thing that wasn't ideal is that per their pet policy, pets can't be unattended in the room (which is understandable) so we weren't able to go check out the pool amenities. They have a great restaurant inside the hotel with a pretty good selection of food for a fair cost as well.

The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was a lovely selection of healthy yogurt, fruit and juice. My two teenage boys enjoyed the eggs and hash browns, pancakes and waffles and were full.
The restaurant and room was clean and warm. The rooms are being renovated. You can see they’re putting money into improving the hotel. The views are spectacular I would go back again.

Chay at the front desk was awesome!

Had a good experience at the Days Inn Golden. We visited during October End and had our booking done online. Everything was hassle free and we arrived on time, but the reception was kind enough to let us in a little bit early which was very much appreciated after a long tiresome journey. The views around every angle was spectacular. The rooms were very clean and neat. The hotel also has a decent pool with a slide and a hot tub. The employees were very kind and helpful. Some of the cons I would mention would be that the thermostat wasn’t working but it wasn’t too bothersome.
The breakfast was fresh and well made with all common options. For dinner and lunch options you got a restaurant right on sight. Plenty of parking available on every side! Overall it was a good experience!

We visited it over a weekend with family and overall great experience. Comfy beds and great views from our room. Breakfast had plenty options and staff was courteous. We will definitely coming back:)

Wasn't impressed with the room but service and free breakfast made up the uncleanness and smelly room.

Horrible please do not even think about it. No hot water is a thing at times but no water at all? Staff is rude and useless. Looks like they running a gangster home. All the workers are goons. They look like they are stoned.
I would just report them but the owners is no different at least guy behind the counter office said he is the owner.
Just a shady place.

Gross, I don't know what else to say. $320 a night to sleep in filth. The last time this place seen an update you rode up on horseback.

The clerk at check in was great but that is where it ended being good. The hotel picture makes it look nicer than it is. It is EXTREMELY overpriced. On our trip through BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan, this was the most expensive place we stayed, twice the cost for 1/4 the product. The rooms are dated, need maintenance urgently and feel cheap and dingy. The entry door card reader worked 1 out of 6 or 7 tries. The beds were just barely ok but well used. Pillows were mixed sizes, some weirdly extra small. The window curtain was so old it wouldn't hang and close properly making it difficult to get privacy. Bathroom - In the bathroom, you will find a rusty vent, an unpainted board with hooks is your towel holder. The casing around the door looks like it had an altercation with an unwilling dog prisoner and was patched with a 12" piece at the bottom. Overall, it didn't feel very clean, especially in the corners. Pretty sad.

The entire suite/room felt like something out of a 70's eastern block countries hospital, if that helps paint a picture for anyone. That is pretty accurate.

There is a stairway that leads up to the restaurant, unlit with a single railing mounted too high (not code) and it's clearly an afterthought, unpainted wood with flimsy interior brackets mounting it.

Once we go to the restaurant, service was slow so we decided to order a pizza to go from them and go to our room. We were told 25min and it would ready but we'd get a call. 10: 40pm, no call, so we decide to go up and get it as it must be almost done. At the restaurant I learn the order hadn't been ran, forgotten, come back in 15minutes (how about you bring it to us since you offer delivery and you screwed up). 15 minutes later, back up to retrieve the pizza, still not ready, just a few more minutes. Now understand that we tipped because of course, they ask everyone for a tip but clearly they don't know what that actually stands for (To Insure Prompt Service = TIPS) Awesome, it's only now newly 11: 00pm, who's tired?

Thankfully the pizza was ok but a pretty sad experience in both of their "products".

My suggestion, SWERVE this place hard, Get to Golden early, do your thing and move on or bring a tent, you can buy it and the sleeping bags for the price of one night here. I would not be as harsh but this place is milking everyone and giving very little in return and not investing in its upkeep. Cash cow, that's it.

This is very large motel and considering they are short staffed, with no vacancy, on August long weekend, we were very impressed with the overall cleanliness of the room and lobby/restaurant, etc.the hotel room bathroom has a small room with just the toilet and shower and the floor in this small area was really the only space that was lower than my picky expectations lol! The room was large and quiet, air conditioning and ceiling fan were great, linens were crisp and clean, beds were comfortable.overall a great to stop over for put family! Also, staff were pleasant and friendly and free breakfast was simple but very good. The only amenity we didn't have time to experience was the pool so can't comment on that this time!

We stayed in one of their two bedroom suites.

Pros:
- Spacious room and living room. We easily fit a pack and play in the room.
- pull out couch in living room.
- microwave, fridge and coffee maker.
- large washroom with jet tub (didn't use - can't comment)
- extra towels and blankets in the room.
- check in process was easy and quick.
- restaurant view is beautiful.
- has a nice pool with a water slide, a hot tub, and a sauna.
- has a gym with lots of equipment.
- breakfast food was great (pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausages, beans, hash browns, yogurt, drinks.
- very reasonable price.

Cons:
- beds and pillows we're not very comfortable and pillows were all the same style in the room.
- pool was a bit too cold.
- hot tub jets weren't working.

The views were nice, but the room was filthy. Every surface had dust. The shower curtain was black in the bottom. There was pee on the base of the toilet. In order to feel safe, I had to use Lysol wipes from my car to clean the bathroom and disinfect everything. Oh, and squished a few daddy long legs in the room too. Plus, they collected payment upfront upon arrival, which is odd. I don't believe the reviews that say otherwise.

Over priced for older looking rooms.the air-conditioning was a window unit out of the 1970s I think. Very noisy. The breakfast ok though.

Ugly smelling room, rotten smell from not working freeze, coffee maker was not working. Bathroom was disgusting, bath tub bottom was wobbling and unsafe to stand. The only little thing was little good was there free breakfast.

Not recommended at all.

Very poor customer service. We had to cancel our reservation due to the forest fire closing the highway and could not make it. Called 3 days in advanced and they told us it was too late to cancel and would not refund us.

Stayed there with my 3 other friends on Aug 1st night. Before anything else, would like to appreciate the front desk guys. One of my friend got allergic reaction to smoke late night. We tried calling every nearby pharmacy but couldn’t get the medicine. Finally asked them if they have it or could advise us a place so we can buy. The front desk manager advised us to relax in our room and delivered to us. I was so impressed with this level of commitment to guest satisfaction.

Rest, Great location with well kept rooms. Ours was a big room with 2 queen beds and had a beautiful view of the mountains. Though due to wildfires we didn't get the clear view, it was still refreshing. Breakfast was good as well. Not too fancy but good options. Recommended!

Well, in my opinion, I will not put this place in a category of "hotel" even 3 stars. It feels like a "motel" to me
We spent 2 nights in this place and, although, bed covers were clean, the mattress wasn't comfortable, was sagging in the middle and uncomfortable for 2 people's sleeping, pillows were big, hard and uncomfortable as well.
The sink was old and looked dirty, I found a hair on the bottom of the bathtub
Towels were clean but well used
No a vent in a bathroom
We had a hot water problem one night when we needed it most.
I shoud mention the dust on the lid of the coffee machine and bad cleaned mirrors
Breakfast was very good (thank to Tracy) : scrubbing eggs, sausages, beans, fries, yogurt, pancakes, apples, bananas, 3 kind of juice, tea, coffee. Tracy's wecome attitude made a difference compared the morning day ago when she was off
So, I put 3 stars but it is an absolutely maximum this place deserve

Not clean. There was a used towel still hanging up in our bathroom. Door lock batteries were dead and so we couldn’t get into our room. Run down…they made upgrades, but they are cheap. Very expensive for what we got. $260 with taxes. We understand it’s in Golden, but I wouldn’t pay over $60 for this room. Unless there are no other options left in Golden, I would highly recommend staying elsewhere.

Pathetic experience staying in days inn Golden. We paid about 1000$ for 2 days 2 rooms but in this price very bad experience.
Wash room very old shower not working properly, exhaust is not working. Tv is old style can not connect phone or tablet to watch YouTube etc. Not recommended to others.only breakfast was good.

Needs updating and could be cleaner. Kids enjoyed the pool/waterslide and we had a great meal at the Indian restaurant across the highway.

We stayed in a pet friendly room. Floor was extremely dirty and towels were stained. We went to the pool, which was fabulous and very clean! When we returned to the room, we had hundreds of ants crawling on the floor. Tried to call the front desk, the phone wouldn’t worked, had to use cell phone. I requested a new room immediately, which they provided, but did say that ants were normal in these rooms. Ummm no thank you. Unacceptable. The next room was slightly better, but still filthy floors and during a shower the tub wouldnt drain. No “sorry” or credit or anything. Would not recommend this hotel at all.

Was quoted one price and reserved but no confirmation sent. Of course the price increased when I arrived. I was also told they would try to accommodate an early check in but zero effort was made to even ask or arrange it. It literally felt like a scam, brutal service.

Great family hotel. Our room had a well stocked kitchenette and comfy beds. The kids loved the waterslide. Excellent and professional customer service at the front desk and in the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

Always stop here. Prices have increased alot. Clean rooms, breakfast was good, although, pancakes and waffles were dry. Awesome view overlooking town and the valley

Nothing wrong with the room, front desk and breakfast were great, but I'm pretty sure something bite me while I was sleeping as I have a nice red bump on the back of my thigh that wasn't there prior to arriving

Sorry to the staff as they were nice but, I hated it. The room was dirty, the towels were dirty and stained, the AC didn't work, Ice machine was broken and charged me a 5 star rate for a 1 star experience.

We booked a night here during the heat wave in hopes that this would offer some relief at $160 for the night and the room was a nice 31° inside.

Needless to say we both woke up feeling sick.

Try to avoid this hotel when making your decision.

We were check in to the hotel around 11pm and our reservation through booking.com. We booked the room with kitchenette because we had a kids and need to cook for them. When we entered to the room it is kind of disgusting room we ever stayed. No kitchenette and bad smell in the room and very tiny fridge even couldn't leave our 2 milk can inside. When we talk to the front desk and he doesn't have proper answer to give us and said no room left with kitchenette. What happen to the reservation we made? They moved the room without informed us to non kitchenette room. They didn't give any solution for us. My kids had nothing to eat, all the shops were close around the Golden at the time. No way to cook the foods and no space to store those. We had to throw the frozen foods on following day. Poor management and front desk guy had very lack of knowledge about the booking. We did ask the manager (Gevin) to contact us and he didn't. Had to call more than 8 times to get the final folio, but he didn't apply any discount as he promised during the check out time. Even didn't apply the rate without kitchenette room. Finally had to pay for the dirty room without kitchenette. NOT RECOMENDED for any families with kids and VERY BAD MANAGEMENT. Never ever stay in this place again.

Good for a night's stay. Don't stay for too long you will be served with the same breakfast everyday. Water heater keeps on shutting down. I have my baby with us so we need warm water everytime for wash ups but we ended up heating up water in the microwave just to have warm water.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean rooms and comfy beds! The restaurant attached to the hotel had good service and tasty food.

It was an incredible experience.
The view is mesmerizing and the staff are all very friendly. The free breakfast has really good hashbrowns and there is a really sweet lady who serves it.
Restaurant patio is very nice.
Make sure you go to the ice machine - it's in a scary hallway - feels like something out of a Stephen King novel.
They only have basic cable and there's only like 4 different channels.
Big waterslide and a trailer park right beside the pool.

I would give the hotel a one star but the front desk and restaurant staff were great.

We booked a pet friendly room. When we arrived the room felt dirty and dingy; the bed linens and bath towels were definitely not white nor soft. It was as though the hotel chose all their old linens to use in these rooms. The towels had brown stains on them. The room had a weird smell to it that clung to you even after showering and leaving the room. The bathroom did not have a fan that worked and there was pink mold growing on the ceiling. The counter was extra high and the toilet was extra low.

The heat in the room was set to 25 in the middle of summer with the ac running as well. Not sure why the housekeeping staff don’t check this when turning a room over.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We paid $284 for the night and I’m sure we could have found a much nicer hotel in Golden or Revelstoke.

Room was nicely renovated and looked good aside from the poor cleaning standards. Room hasn't been properly maintained, the jacuzzi was discusting, the floors weren't vacuumed or swept. There was hair in the bed and in the tub. Sluge in the coffee maker, wasn't even able to use it in the morning.

We told the front desk about our issue and he said there was no housekeeper on site but that he would send someone up to take care of it. We went out for dinner at a different hotel we had stayed at previously. Didn't even want to try their dingy food. Came back an hour and some later and he had fixed some of the issues. Though I noticed the sheets weren't changed, the single visible hair was removed and the bed re tucked.

Asked manager for some sort of compensation and he told me that it would all have to be dealt through Expedia, and that they have no control over the refund from the hotel. Which was strange because every other hotel we booked that needed a refund was able to take care of it right away. No receipts we given at time of check out.

Overall dissatisfied.

If im being honest, disgusting. Toilets dont flush in either of the 3 rooms me and my family were in. Mold in every shower. Sauna floor is broken and tiles move when stepped on, Hot tub water looks dirty and so does the pool water. Vending machines near room 202 eat up money and dont give you it back. Dont stay here, i suggest the ramada or travelodge.

We stayed in a pet friendly room and it was nothing like pictured. There was garbage behind the dresser, garbage in the nightstand drawer, as well as garbage under the garbage bags in both trash cans. The room had a smell to it, and the bedding had dirt on the end of the bed like someone sat there with their feet up. Washroom was dingy and there was toilet paper in the toilet when we arrived. We arrived late and had to leave early otherwise we would have gotten a different hotel.
The good, was the breakfast buffet and super polite staff.

Would not cancel hotel two weeks before travel date even though provincial travel restrictions province to province were recommended.

Great view. Average rooms but needs some sprucing up to be a 3 star. First room had some thick white stuff in the tub. It looked like a paint can spilt. They got us a new room right away. The new room is clean but the shower curtain is stained and needs replacing and a towel is ripped. Railings outside need replacing. It is just tired and needs some work TLC needed. I would expect this from a 2 star nit 3

Very disappointed! When I was using the towel after my shower I saw a blonde hair on the towel. I am Asian and have black hair so I was very surprised to when I saw it. I checked the other towel, same thing I saw some strands of hair. It means they don’t change the towel every time, especially right now with pandemic its very important to change towel and linens everytime the guest check out. The reason we checked in in this hotel is because of the pool, but when we got into our room we decided to just sleep and we left early in the morning.

Overall great experience!
We stayed at the executive suite and room was always cleaned and the continental breakfast was great!
It would be 5 stars except the 1 wall in the bedroom you could see someone spilled pop or something on it and it was never cleaned properly.
The continental breakfast most days was on actual plates and silverware. The last day the guy didn't seem to care at all. It was on paper plates and plastic utensils. Was given half the food as the previous days.

Id it was consistent this would for sure be 5 stars

The customer service is here is ridiculously amazing! We got there early on a horribly rainy day, they rushed getting towels ready for us so the kids could swim, they were just always there when you needed someone. Rooms are basic, but clean, pool is good.

Absolutely disgusting. Room stunk. Was dirty. Hot tub and pool weren't working. Absolute dump. It was loud, the shower made an awful screeching noise everytime you turned it on. At over $100 a night you're better off sleeping in a trash can.
