Days Inn by Wyndham Kelowna

This is more of a motel, but it doesn't reflect that on the nightly price. We went with a group of friends and did not have a comfortable stay.
Problems we had:
1. There was absolutely no common room to have dinner with friends. There was a breakfast room, but the receptionist said we cannot use it as it would be closed at 10pm. We couldn't eat together in the rooms because there was a "quiet time" at 11pm.
2. Staff were not friendly. They didn't feel welcoming, and did not appear to be smiling or hospitable.
3. Wifi in the room was not working, but we didn't bother to report to reception since we were already frustrated with other issues.
4. Breakfast was included, but it was close to horrible. There were boiled eggs which felt like frozen ones, and bacon. Other than that, white bread and fruit loops. Staff were not refilling even those, as soon as they finished, and because of that its hard to get a hold of those even. The room was too crowded and too small. Almost felt claustrophobic. But there was a small patio to eat.
We paid almost 330 CAD for a room with 2 double beds, and none of the amenities or services provided justify that. If price is fair, this would be a good hotel for a family to crash a night.

Staff were very friendly. The room was clean. The contential breakfast was weak and coffee wasn't great. Over it was a good place.

We went here in 2021 and everything was great. So, its a no brainer to book the same hotel for this year. They accomodated my wife's allergy issue, and staffs were nice. However, they charge me a $40 for damage. I called them in the afternoon on July 21, and they told we stained 4 towels and charge us $10 for each. Funny thing is, me, my wife and my daughter each has our own towel brought from home, and only use one towel for wipe our feet before and after shower, we only dirty one towel, not stained and not 4 towel. I was politly ask them to check if somebody made a mistake, and the female staff I was talking on the phone said they made no mistake. But, it doesn't add up, we use only one towel and did not even touch any other towels. After I insisted, they said they were gonna give me a call back. And later, around 9 pm, I still didn't get a call back, and I called them, only by then, I was told the manager was not on duty, and they would give me a call back next day. I stayed 4 nights and the bill was $1001.76, so $40 is just a fraction of that, but accusing us of something we definitely didn't do is totally frustrating, furious and rediculous.
Update: Their manager did not call back the next day and I called, they said their manager is not here, and they refunded me already, but did not apologize. I asked for the details for the investigation and they said I need to talk to the "manager", who is always not there and did not call me back.when I asked them if they do anything to prevent this from happening again, they're pretty vague about it and said they had talked to the house keeper. Then I said I need to know the truth, cause they thought or still are thinking we did something we didn't do, is something I should not encounter during my vacation. Then I asked can the manager at least email me about what was going on. They just said will do. Okay, they just simply give back the money that shouldn't have been taken from me and no sorry, no action what so ever! Well done!

Was pretty scared by the negative reviews but our experience was actually pretty good. The room was nice and some higher end hotels don't even have the hand soap and hair products that this hotel provided. The cleaning ladies seemed kind and same with the front desk. Continental breakfast had a decent variety of cereal, muffins, pancakes, toast, yogurt and drinks. Nothing fancy but the reviews don't seem accurate in my opinion.

Value for $$ is not at this hotel. Awful musty smelling as soon as we got into the room. Walls are paper-thin - can hear everything going on in other rooms. Would definitely not stay here again.

I was just visiting a friend who was staying there.
However, I stayed at this motel in 2017 and have to say that it has greatly improved in cleanliness.

The only reason that I gave this one star is basically because the beds are so soft that my husband and I were rolling into the middle of the bed throughout the night. We had booked it for four nights and ended up leaving the next morning. Both of us could barely walk especially myself who have had three back surgeries because of how soft the beds are. Other than that the place was nice and clean, the rooms are nice. Had a nice pool which we didn't get a chance to use of course. And management was very understanding when we had to cancel the last 3 days.

Breakfast does not have that so much option but overall it was a nice stay and the courtyard area are nice! Would stay again.

Hotel refuses to let me check in after pre purchasing on Hotwire. It is my fault I didn’t have a credit card on my name with it, sure. But then the excuses flew. First, no credit card with my name= no check in. Sure that’s my bad. But then! We’re told how my partners card would be ok but shoot: (she’s local. And they won’t take debit from local people. (I live in Kamloops and was in town for her post secondary graduation and decided to get us some place to stay.) I offered to pay a 1,000k deposit on my debit card. Still no dice.

Then the “gentleman” at the front desk tells me to call Hotwire for a refund. So I left the building, and did. Only for Hotwire to then call the hotel, and the hotel proceeds to refuse my refund. Why would that man tell me to call hotwire? My biggest regret besides booking with this hotel is not staying in line while I called Hotwire.

But, once I realized (there is a plaque in the lobby stating owned and operated by SKJJ holdings) this hotel is operated by the same individual who owns an apartment building riddled with bed bugs that my partner once lived in (and moved out for the bed bugs) I knew I was screwed. Crazy how someone like that gets to do whatever he wants unchecked.

The room was dated and over due for a painting. The breakfast was fine but could change the boiled eggs.

Easy checking - very convenient location right on hiway but very quiet - include breakfast.staffs very helpful and friendly.

Wife accidentally reserved a room for Rutland in the US, instead of helping the staff was rude and dismissive, the room we did stay at in kelowna was dirty and it had moldy smell to it will never stay there again

Rooms are outdated and not the cleanest. Pool filtration not working properly which is a serious health code issue. The nicest part of the hotel was the courtyard outside. Overpriced for what you get, borderline sketchy.

Hotel room was very clean and well appointed for a budget establishment. Room rates were fair for the time of season. (summer)
Could lay your head down for the night without taking out a mortgage.

We stayed here for two nights in August. The room was spacious and clean but the AC is very noisy (we're starting to think this is a problem with old establishments in Canada, they don't have "built in AC" and the ones they get are always big and noisy). The bed mattress is very soft and we prefer harder ones so it's wasn't that comfortable. It's nice that you have a parking spot in front of your room, but if you arrive late it's likely someone takes it before - still, plenty of parking space. It's nice that they have breakfast although there's not a lot to choose from (everyone goes crazy for the pancake machines so avoid peak hours) and unfortunately they don't clean after guests so when we went there was only one table and it was very messy. We didn't use the pool.

Not the best hotel but good for the price (Kelowna price, expensive by regular standards). Rooms are clean and the staff is fairly friendly. It is near the core area so easy to get from there to most other places in the city. They do have a problem with wasps outside the hotel.

Beds were too soft and dip in the middle. Air conditioned made the room quite humid.
Tub and floor was very slippery - horrible for kids and seniors.
Toilet was very low - again horrible for my senior parents.
The pool was cold but that didn’t bother the kids.
What really upsets me is before we booked, we called and asked what they had for breakfast. We have a limited diet and I like to stay at a hotel that offers a breakfast that can accommodate that. I don’t mean special orders. Eggs, and a meat and potatoes. - some of us don’t eat any bread products at all.
We called before we booked. We were specific with what we were looking for in a breakfast and were assured that there were in fact scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs and meat like bacon.
There is NONE of that.
I stay at a hotel that offers breakfast so that I don’t have to worry about it.
No cream cheese, no peanut butter, one type of jam - grape.
Juice machine just broke down - no juice.
They do have apples and oranges but that doesn’t solve anything.
If we had been told this in advance, we would have stayed else where. Now in addition to an expensive hotel $180. Per night I also have to buy breakfast. It’s not cheap. I will not be staying here in the future if I can avoid it. Spend a bit more and get a hotel that is true to their word or happy to make it up to you.

We called in days ahead and requesting the type of rooms we would like and they would agree to all of our request by the time we were there the rooms was not as what we asked for.and the front desk guy was very very rude.rooms was ok clean but alot of things was missing in our rooms. The reception guy talked to me as if I worked there. I have been to this hotel couples of times and believe me this is the last time. I introduced my friends to this place and we got 4 rooms they will loose my business forever

The place was ok. The room was clean. I got so disappointed with the room service.they just change the towels. The breakfast.was so bad. I couldn't eat there. Some breads no cream cheese just jam and peanut butter. It was a long weekend and they were sold out.they could do better. Another point. I tried to get a towel for the swimming pool.there wasn't available. It is a place to not go again.next time in kelowna I will look for another place.

Pretty good experience overall. Asked for a queen bed and received two doubles and the bathroom is a bit small. Staff is incredibly friendly, the pool is well maintained and a good breakfast.

Average hotel at best. Rude staff who were not very accommodating. Breakfast wasn’t great. The room was old and definitely wasn’t worth the $230 per night, pillows were lumpy and felt like I was sleeping on a bag of potatoes.

My room smelled like weed, the people where loud around me and my TV didn't work. When I complained the staff did nothing. The bed was worn out and super soft obviously the owners don't care about good customer service. Don't ever stay there I never will

We booked through the internet did not see that he booked a Motel and not Hotel, and got to the strip motel. Oooo was the thought. Well after seeing all the foot traffic we were concerned. The room it's self was clean, the motel well maintained and the owner going a great job. Thanks.

The room was clean and comfortable and for the price that's all you can really ask for. It had a few quirks like a few missing baseboards and a loose toilet seat, one of the lamps also didn't work very well. The continental breakfast was good, very basic with pancakes and toast, cereals, apples, oranges, yogurt, etc. But one cannot complain for the price, if you want a full gourmet meal that's what a restaurant is for. Service was great nonetheless, and I would stay here again in a pinch.

Overpriced. There were no baseboards in our room at all. Had to pay extra because we had lost of credit card on the trip and wouldn’t just take our card number. So for paying debit they charged us an extra $50 for the room and $200 damage deposit.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and it does not disappoint. The staff is exceptionally friendly, especially one staff member who recognized me from my previous stay. The pool and hot tub are great along with the breakfast. A great affordable hotel in a semi-decent location.

First we are very grateful to know that they accept people who don't live with credit cards whereas it's difficult to find accommodations who will! To be honest we thought we'd find a "run down" motel but we found the opposite. The Days Inn was spotless from the hallways into the room. The staff was professional yet friendly and helpful. The price was acceptable. We would certainly not hesitate to stay there again.

Room was dirty and didn't smell clean when i tried to cancel my reservation they wouldn't give me a refund

Pulled out the sofa and there was food and dirt in the sheets. Definitely not clean. Top floor corner unit not a bad view.

Room smelled of smoke upon arrival. There were stains on the wall, the couch, the bed, the sheets and the pillows.
Couch was mediocre. Beds were hard and the pillows felt like using a box of cardboard

Nice place to stay. Continental breakfast was nice. I have sensitive skin and had problems with the soap but my companion did not.

The Manager Jas said It wasn’t his first time. I called Wyndham and they said because Jas said I was happy with the response that all they can do it is give me 10000 points, like I want to stay at their hotels

Clean comfortable room. They have a bathtub instead of just a shower like most hotels these days. Friendly staff. 4 stars because I thought it was bogus to charge $40 for an early check in when the room was already to go.

We stayed 2 nights. From our experience it was great. Friendly staff at the counter and anyone working there. Great location, plenty of parking, free breakfast and pool. No complaints here. The room was clean the only thing I didn't like was the carpet.needs to be shampooed and the bed was too soft for me. We wll definitely stay here again given a chance.

For an older hotel it’s a welcoming environment. The rooms are what they are. While the place was clean and the comfort was pretty high. The fact that the remote didn’t work properly and the power outlets on the lamps were not working.
This made it very difficult to actually charge our devices bedside.

You will know immediately that because you are staying with pets you are not getting the most well kept rooms. Yet you are paying extra for cleaning automatically and you pay the same rate of someone without pets to begin with. So we automatically are forced to sacrifice our comfort as pet owners.

Our room that we were assigned to we noticed that the furniture cabinet the microwave was in had a warped door where the fridge was and the shelf where the microwave was placed was not even designed for using the actual microwave.

Each time we used it we had trouble opening the microwave fully because the shelf itself was too high when you opened the microwave door.

The air conditioning unit was also very noisy. No matter the level it was set at.

The amenities of the pool, hot tub were great even though it’s a bit of a small hot tub so only 3 can comfortably enjoy the hot tub at any one time.

The owners might want to consider not promoting the breakfast given it was literally a sad group of limited fruit and maybe if lucky you had some yogurt.

The best thing: the water pressure was excellent and that we really appreciated.

The staff we encountered during our stay were all pleasant and courteous. This is why we would tell others to consider staying their if they can. However there is still room for improvement.

I had a one night stay here.

Pros: The property was clean, and the room was in a good condition.
I believe they have 24 hour check-in which is really nice. Free breakfast was included (more on that below)
Cons: This place was grossly overpriced in my opinion. Also, I encountered a maskless guest at the breakfast room, sneezing in the direction of disposable cutlery. After that, I decided not to eat the hotel breakfast. I think they could do a better job of enforcing masks in common areas.

The rooms were okay. Smelled like it was unused for a while. Many little things were broken. Spring beds. Breakfast was okay as well. Not a bad place for just sleeping the night.

Very run down. Pop machine on the second floor wasn’t working and no ice machine. The free breakfast was gross I ended up getting sick. The only good thing was the swimming pool

Still no hot breakfast! Pathetic. They just figure its cheaper to have pancakes. All they need is it least some sausages and bacon, but that might cut into profits. The 1980s want their rooms back. Only 3 electrical outlets. Should fire the a$$hat at the front desk. He yelled at another client for getting cups, and our group that had just sat down for breakfast. He also yelled at the whole room and said he would not help with the pancake machine that needed refilling. No respect, never staying here again.

The workers were very friendly
Breakfast was over at 930. I missed because i slept in. Was quiet and really good air conditioning. Security on premises at night.

GROSS. Unhelpful front desk attendant/receptionist. Bug on pillow, he dismissed it, saying because of the wildfires, and bugs could have came from anywhere. Hair strands on bed under pillows, he said maybe the housekeeper's hair just fell while they were fixing it. Like seriously? It's so obvious that the beddings wasn't cleaned nor changed at all. Knowing the situation right now, all the promised "enhanced cleaning" on the description of this hotel ARE ALL LIES. We just requested that if maybe they could just change the beddings at least, but he said that he can't do anything about it because there are no other staff! On friday night? Like why? Nightmare! Stuck in here, can't find any more hotel vacancies nearby at this time. Worst hotel I've been to, especially customer service. Good thing we brought our thin blankets and one bed sheet as a habit, just in case, it's our first time really using them. Well the price is good though.

I really want to commend Days Inn for their compassion.

We were supposed to stay here last Thursday and my dog very unexpectedly passed away late Wednesday night. We weren't hoping for much for cancellation as it was less than 24 hours notice, but Days Inn very graciously took care of it so we had one less thing to think about. Thank you so much.

The room slept 4 with one bed being the pull out couch. It was broken at the top and you sunk into the middle of the bed. Told the staff about the issue and they did not look like they cared.

Positive: Rooms are somewhat renovated, pool was clean and hot tub in great working order. Pretty nice in the covid days as sometimes those services aren't available because of covid.

My main disappointment is with the breakfast. Really wished for some eggs at the very least. Even if they were just hard boiled. The options were all carbs/flour. Bread/toasts, cereal, pancakes, sad looking muffins and some people had oranges.

Tbh it was kinda bad I entered my room think it was gonna be something nicer but I enter to dust all over the room. Then I went to go get ice to find there’s bugs in it like bad experience would never go there again

Nice and affordable place to live, EastIndian gentleman on frontdesk was very nice and helpfull, outside pool and hot water tub was fun.access from outside for all rooms

Pull-out bed had a huge sag in it, which made it impossible to sleep well. Room was cramped and the staff threw out an item of personal value that I had accidentally left in the room, even though I called to request they hold it about an hour after checkout.

It's ok for a 1 night stay. But if you're staying longer term, I wouldn't recommend. The shower in my room wasn't even installed properly, there was a huge gap between wall and water spout in shower. Outdoor pool and hottub are quite small compared to other places I've stayed.

My friend went there as an evacuee and they refused her cause she didnt have picture id. She even offered a cash deposit and they still said no.

Very bad customer service. I got ignorant and irrelevant response about room service complaint.

Beds are comfy, the staff are friendly, however not worth the price. The showers could use some revamping as the water sprays everywhere and could use some sort of ant traps. There was a few ants that got the dog kibbles we left out through the day, it’s part of the season but ant traps wouldn’t hurt.

I entered this hotel at 2am and I was very apprehensive about how the rooms look like. I requested to see the rooms in person before I booked it and they were so accommodating and helpful. Without asking they also offered me a slight discount on their rate.

The rooms were nice and clean! Bathrooms were good. Good shower. Good bed. In the morning despite covid, house keeping staff came and dropped off fresh towels!

Later this day, I fell really badly and needed some bandages. When we asked them if they had extras they helped us whole heartedly! The bandages arrived 10ish minutes later and it makes me think they went out of their way to buy some just for us! Regardless, I’m sold! I’m coming back for sure!

Me and my husband were staying here for one night last minute booking.
Easy to get to and tons of parking. Quick processing at the front desk.
We stayed at room 204 on the second floor. It was cleaned very well. The towels and sheets smelled really good, the bathroom area was clean with no hair or any dirt stains. They provide soap/shampoo/conditioner/shower cap. The shower pressure was very good. Spacious and bright room with heater/air conditioner.
Honestly a great stay if you’re passing by and not a light sleeper (can hear the traffic).
There is breakfast in the morning that consists of muffins/coffee/juice/cereal.
I’ve read some of the reviews and was hesitant but my stay was positive. I’ve never stayed at a 2 star hotel before. This is a great bang for your buck. Obviously this is not Fairmont but it’s clean and has everything you need in a hotel.

Your front desk staff really needs to remind guests that they are in a residential area. I'm trying to watch Battlestar Galactica dogfight and there's drunken people louder than cylons! I hate living beside the motel in the summer

I called in to book to room and was given higher prices than what it shows online even though the reservation department said this is the best price they can give. When I called in to cancel my booking, the lady as really rude and seemed arrogant. Don't know how the stay would have been but the staff is definitely not that great.

Odd bathrooms with no sink in. Fairly clean. Smallish rooms. Pool is right along the highway, odd. Small building. Breakfast decent, some different options but could be better. Not the cleanest, but not too dirty either.

Great place to stay if you're visiting Kelowna. Not far from the city center. The hotel room where we stay is not as great as other hotels but its good. Free breakfast and there is a pool to swim with.

We stay here every time we come to Kelowna, which is every year, the staff is so friendly and professional. The rooms are always clean and smell great. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location and wonderful place for families and pets. Wheelchair accessible room is ok, but no fill-in shower. Very expensive, however.

They have the newest and nicest rooms at very affordable prices. They are pet friendly for a small $20/night fee. They have a decent breakfast included in the price. They also have an outdoor pool and hot tub in their semi secluded courtyard.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. First of all, I opened the bed on our first night and found over 10 black hairs stuck to the sheets. We waited about 45 min for someone to come and hand us sheets so that we could replace ourselves. Homeless people wandering around the pool area and using the ice machines etc. My 3 year old forgot his black puppy in the blankets when we left and it never turned up. The housekeeper obviously threw it away or kept for themselves. Do not recommend this dump.

Clean room and nice sink area. Bathroom was a bit dated when compared to the rest of the room. Overall really nice. Front Desk lady seemed a bit stand-offish a smile would have been nice. Will be back.

What I liked.
- the paint inside and out has been nicely updated.
- the hallways were pleasantly air conditioned.
- the front desk staff was very agreeable to work with.
- the breakfast room was clean and bright.

A little disappointed in.
- the toilet was designed for a very short person.
- the bathtub had a few long hairs in it.
- the fridge didn't work, which they repaired the next day, and then it failed again the second night.
- the breakfast food selection was a bit limited.
- a microwave to warm my muffin would have been nice.

The room was really dingy, and smelled like the inside of a coffin, which was fitting. They look nothing like the pictures, when we reserved a room with 2 queens for our family, we expected 2 clean queen beds in a room. They gave us one queen and a sofabed. I stepped on a blueberry underneath the desk, there were stains on the toilet. I understand this is a motel, but this is setting the bar quite low. Left as soon as we could in the morning, and definitely not coming back. Not the best way to rest during a long trip

Well, the air conditioning, the bed and all basic services are good, but it lacked privacy of you lived on the first floor.

The room was very clean servicing was good breakfast was good. I won't stay here again there's no fixed parking so the disabled has to walk or wheel a great distance you have to pack heavy bags air units tanks etc all the way to your room. I will never stay there again because there's no fixed parking

We had a big pile of ants sadly, but beyond that horror, it is an extremely pleasant hotel and I'm a big fan.

I would have liked to stay there, but never got the chance. When I called I was put on hold for about 4 minutes. Hung up and called back, put on hold again, now almost 8 minutes. I guess they are too busy for my business.

Stayed here one night last year. Hotels can be hard to book in Kelowna and thanks to great staff we were able to get the last room when we stayed. Hotel is clean and seemingly well managed. Breakfast was the usual for a budget hotel. Price was just right too.

Location is good, 1 hr drive from two amazing ski hills.rooms are a comfortable size. People in Kelowna like to rev their engines late at night for some reason. Hope that was a one time thing.

Service was good, nice, friendly, and helpful staff. The location was alright, everything important is within driving distance, maybe not walking though. Clean, tidy, and warm rooms. And all at a relatively good price.

I had booked my son in for Christmas Day, at another hotel in town.he is 18 and was willing to put his Visa debit for the deposit, he was willing to give them a large cash deposit. They waited until just before he was to check in before they phoned me, to tell me they would take neither. I offered my own credit card as a deposit but they would not take that as I am 12 hours away and cannot be with him as I am 12 hours away.
Called the Days Inn, explained the situation and the girl told me no problem send him down! She was very helpful and empathetic on the phone we will definitely be staying here for our 2 week annual vacation!

Bias transphobic problems checking in with my credit card because they wanted to put the deposit and room charges on my way credit card when I could have paid room by a different card the next time I go there it was later and 1 person was there it was so much easier he take the deposit on my credit card and room charges on my next card no problems even my friend had no problem doing the same thing but I had problems the first time and it was manager and front desk clerk trying the best not to check me in the hotel room

Breakfast is non existant; worst yet, no yogurt-empty fridge, 1 type of milk, hard boiled eggs only, a pancake machine that throws out rubberized pancakes, coffee that tastes like water. Staff advised they were "waiting" for delivery of yogurt etc, well that doesn't help me does it? I travel alot and have eaten at varying levels of hotels which provide breakfast. Even the Super 8's were far better. What's the point of staying somewhere that provides a free breakfast when I have to go out for breakfast after. So disappointing.
