Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Airport

The airport shuttle bus can only be booked by calling and staff say they won’t answer email requests - not very helpful for travellers coming from overseas.

They will charge you if you’re more than 1 minute late for check out and charge by the hour for early check in.

Basic rooms. Staff unhelpful

Nice room - clean and roomy. Only problem was that the outlets were all old and loose. Had to hold in the plug for the coffeemaker and chargers to make them work. Workable breakfast included. 10 minutes to the airport and places to buy food within walking distance. Also shuttle service. Great value!

Surprise 500 deposit when we got there. Very shady and a huge amount. To top it off the elevator was broken so we lugged 40 pound suit cases up 4 flights of stairs at 2 am.

This hotel will do whatever they can to take your money. The first thing that caught our attention was that they charged our credit card a whole day before our stay without notice. Typically this charge comes through when checking in at the hotel. The hotel itself is very average and the breakfast was very minimal (no meats, some fruit, cereal, and waffles). During the stay a $250 hold is put on the room as a deposit to make sure the guests don’t smoke. We don’t smoke so it wasn’t a big deal. However, after we checked out we got an email saying that $6.96 would be charged to us because of a missing lotion bottle. There were some items in the bathroom (soap bar, makeup wipes, shower cap), but there was never a lotion bottle. Even if there was, we wouldn’t take it since we had our own. We replied and said it was never there and asked them not to charge us. They replied and claimed inventory was done and proceeded to say that we would be charged. This was an insulting accusation and charge for something that is typically complimentary with the stay. To use their hold to accuse guest of things that don’t exist is horrible and very poor service by this hotel.

We enjoyed our night here on the way back to New Zealand. The location is great, handy to the airport. The staff were friendly & let us store our luggage while we visited the city. I would stay here again it is good value for money.

Good service but not providing water bottle in the room was a slap in the face. The person who change my experience is the shuttle driver (Suridym - not sure If I spelled it right), he is genuine caring person and the only reason I rate 5 star.

Don't be 1 minute late for your shuttle to airport they don't wait, they don't call or care. Had an overnight layover on a flight, asked for a shuttle for 0420, came down at 0421 and shuttle was gone. Lady behind desk said we were down at 0422 and it was our fault for being 2 minutes late. Front desk lady had zero empathy and refused to help, when driver returned he explained we needed to be early and was very rude, preferred to explain how early he had to be at work and how tough his life was. Front desk lady refused to call a manager, and said they were not allowed to call us despite calling us the night before when picking us up from the airport. Very frustrating experience, rooms and hotel are old and look like it has seen better days. Would not recommend especially if you need an airport shuttle. Driver watched as kids loaded their own luggage and left the next passenger who was less than 1 minute late, we were gone before 0451 for the 0450 shuttle, nobody called the passengers room, just left.

Overall it was an average Hotel. I would like to mention the service though, which was not average. The front desk staff were amazing, even helped me to fix my luggage which was ripper by the airline. Second, the drop off shuttle driver we had. What an amazing person. Full of smile, helping to load and offload the bags and didn't let anyone load our own luggage as was done by the pick up driver.

Tiny room, dated and worn. Clean, staff seemed harried and barely able to communicate in English.

Basic, airport hotel. Not terribly exciting stay, but efficient location. Shuttle driver was lovely and helpful.

The only positive thing I can say about our stay here was the reception when we finally arrived. Front desk staff were wonderful.
The shuttle service needs huge improvement. He said he would be there in 15 - 20 minutes only to arrive 30 minutes later and then we didn't go to the hotel, we went back to the airport to do a drive through. Arrived at the hotel an hour after we called. It's a 10 drive, if that.
Rooms were disgusting and dirty. Dirty and stained towels. Coffee maker was a nice touch but no cups.
Sorry but never again.
Price went up, service went down.

My room was really nice. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Coffee and tea were provided in the room along with bathroom items for convenience.
Breakfast was also included, which was a nice touch.
Highly recommend staying here for the convenience of shuttle pick up and drop off to the airport.
Staff were very friendly and super knowledgeable.

The free breakfast was not that excellent as described. Expect no sausages, bacon, ham when you wake up to eat the described excellent breakfast at this hotel.

Having arrived with some difficulty with the airport shuttle after midnight, here was a fire alarm with a ruptured water pipe at 4am the night of my stay.

We were kept outside in the subzero temperatures for a very long time with no communication or direction from the staff, who were in general incredibly unhelpful in every possible way and obviously could not care less if they tried.

Everything dirty, and in very bad repair.

When I called to ask of I could be given any rebate for my incredibly expensive 4 hours of sleep, I was told I could email a staff member who was on vacation or an unspecified amount if time. Not super helpful.

Literally never ever staying at this terrible place again, and I stay in hostels with no complaints. Absolutely terrible.

It exceeded my expectations. At first glance, the entrance was wore and old looking. The Rug the elevator was very dirty. However, the front desk person was very professional, the room was very clean and comfortable. Good value. We will stay there again.

Idéal pour les courts séjours (juste avant de prendre l'avion par exemple). L’hôtel est bien placé, près du métro et de l'aéroport. Une navette gratuite est disponible pour vous emmener à aéroport. Il suffit de demander à l'accueil, le personnel à l'habitude et vous conseillera le meilleur horaire pour ne pas louper votre vol ou trop attendre à l'aéroport. J'y suis resté en 2018 une seule nuit (propreté et confort de la chambre satisfaisant). Le petit déjeuner était vraiment copieux et top sachant les heures de vols qui m'attendait sans repas dans l'avion.
Je vous le recommande pour 1 ou 2 nuits à l'arrivée ou juste avant de repartir, le rapport qualité/prix est plus qu'honorable. Mais ne vous attendez pas au grand luxe ou à une belle vue. Pour çà il faut aller ailleurs et y mettre beaucoup plus cher.

It's a quarantine hotel. There's no mention of this. The rooms are in need of an update. I realized 24hrs prior that this hotel was not going to meet my needs. I tried calling over and over again to cancel. There was no answer ever with any line choice option, nor was there ever an option to leave a message at least. They refused cancellation when I got there, which would be fair if I hadn't tried to cancel in advance to no avail.

You get what you pay for, staff can be a little more friendly. Good spot of you have a flight to catch!

Rooms were great, complimentary breakfast, and there was a patio on the top floor. I just don't like being told I have to wear a mask, and anything there costs extra, mask, locker for a couple of hours, printing. But other than that, Id recommend it.

Basic hotel, big clean room, crisp bedding, fluffy towels. They offer free breakfast (toasts, bagels, waffles, cereals, apples and bananas). They have a free shuttle for the airport, which is 10 mins away.

Very bad experience without any reason they just give me back 300$ deposit but i paid 500$ security deposit. Staff was very rude. I will recommend if you do not want to spoil your mood then do not visit this hotel

The management is not transparent, be careful of booking this hotel, they will take $250 deposit and never returned back as what promised. Ugly management, dishonest, rude receptionists, their attitude and faces reflects to the hotel itself in general. Doesn’t deserve to get even 1 star.

Great location to the airport and AMAZING views on the 6th floor viewing balcony, which I discovered myself! Watched planes come in to land and you can smoke there (not that I am advocating that) but did notice an ashtray. Plus, views of the mountains and close walking distance to a Burger King and liquor store. (like 5 minutes) xx * pic from viewing balcony *

For the price it is functional and served the purpose of a late night stay. The front desk was very friendly and fast, shuttle too and from the airport was convenient. However because of those points, that is the only reason why it’s 2 star and not 1.

Room at first looked fine, albeit very dated, the shower curtain really smelt bad and noticed minor red specs on the sheet on one of the beds. Breakfast was very basic, but I guess the thought is what counts.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but this must be shared and I confirm the other bad reviews were accurate.

Decent hotel for the price, very good location for YVR. I did have an issue with trying to reach front desk to get shuttle service from airport and had to buy a cab but the hotel accommodated and allowed an early checkin as compensation.

Terrible Wifi. Terrible breakfast. Misleading advertisement on bed and breakfast. Lovely rooms covered my anger.

Misleading ad on booking.com. The WIFI keeps on disconnecting and if you raise that issue to the staff.they will make you feel offended.

Don't fall for the advertisement about breakfast included! It's just a cookie and a juice. It would be cheaper to get a Tim Horton's breakfast rather than to get this packed breakfast.

Front desk staff are not at all welcoming, he asked me to wait for 10 min even though he was free and chatting with his colleague (there was enough reviews for unfriendliness of front desk staff and they proved). And after 15 min he accepted new passengers and asked me to wait after them…. It s an old-dated hotel but room are clean for 3 star… I have 3 set of towels for only me in my room happy but not environmentally friendly… happily there is microwave in the room except fridge, coffee machine and iron… if they give good customer service then it worth the money…

Great stay! Hotel is a bit old but super clean. Great staff. Felt homely. I arrived way earlier from my check-in time and they allowed me to check in 1 hour early without any additional cost. Room was decent, good size and super clean, it had everything I needed. Shuttle service to and from the airport is free of cost. Would definitely recommend

We booked this hotel specifically because it had mobile check-in as we were unsure if we would be staying there the first few nights of our trip. We even called a month prior to our trip to confirm mobile check-in was an option. When we tried to do the mobile check-in we were informed they, in-fact, do not offer this service (that is listed on the first page of their website, as the first amenity). As we were unable to return to the hotel, move or cancel the rooms, we lost the rooms and ended up being out $500 in order to find lodging for the rest of our stay. Do not trust this location to honor their amenities or provide the services you paid for.

Worst hospitality ever had. Night shift receptionist lady was very rude. Not worth it spending money here. Its a 0 out of 5

If you like blood stain sheets, ants crawling in the bathroom and a fridge that sounds like a hydroplane in a room outdated and too small and tubs that don't drain then this is the place for you.spend the extra forty bucks and stay somewhere else! Don't do what we did!
BTW it's the only hotel I've stayed at where the questionnaire ask if I'm here to quarantine? Funny considering they're spitting distance from the airport. #JustSaying

Here are the positives.

Room was good. I specifically wanted a breakfast with the room. The room was good. Breakfast co sister of 3 granola bars, a banana, and a juice box. I have had bad breakfast in the past but at least I got frozen muffins. The worst ever.

The staff was rude and inattentive. Not clear. Amy especially didn't seem like she knew how to do her job and was rude and unclear when answering questions.

Front desk was super helpful and polite. I had left an item in my room during my one night stay and when I called it was a very smooth process getting it back, despite the fact that I live in a different province. The room we stayed in was also very clean and smelt like baby powder lol.

Stay away from the Asian woman working here, she is super aggressive and might give you a heart attack.

The most aweful place to stay! NEVER try this hotel! Such a disaster to choose it! Stay away from this so-called hotel. No STARS!

If you can, choose somewhere else to stay. Upon arrival, it was quite evident they did not care for cleanliness. Rooms were better, however carpets need to be cleaned. Bed was comfortable, but hotel needs to supply a variety of styles and firmness.

I don't recommend this inn few reason,
1. When you request green tea they don't have it.
2. When you request food they bring kids size meal. When you ask for more they said they don't have more food.
3. Room and washroom were not clean.
4. Soaps were not there in the wash room when you ask they said they don't have it.
5. Covid quarantine price were expensive than rest $1600 for 22 hrs.

This hotel should be sued for price gouging. Nothing more is needed to be said, just read the reviews and your explanation is clear as day.

Washroom was so dirty. Unhinged rooms. There was used soap in the washroom. Such a garbage thing

Worst hotel. A complete rip off for Covid Quarentine. Dirty rooms, non functioning toilets. Food was inedible. Food trays and garbage sitting in the hallway all day. Does not even deserve one star. Do not book this hotel unless you are absolutely desperate. Bring your own food.

We booked 2 rooms, the other room doesn’t have an air conditioner, they expect us to stay and suffer the heat. We asked to just cancel both since we came here as a family. She said (front desk) she will just either move us to the quarantine floor or half of us leave since we cannot stay in just 1 room.

We left and they still charged us for 1 room which i dont get because any hotels cannot ask your guest that half of them should leave because the other room doesn’t have an airconditioner.

For a basic hotel it was perfect. WiFi was great room was clean and nice and quiet. Lots of restaurants nearby and a liquor store and Costco.

This was a short visit; only a few hours between flights. Unfortunately we waited longer than we were told we would for the shuttle but check in was quick and easy and the room clean.

The pillows were comfy, but the bed aged and too soft.

Check out was quick and the staff friendly and helpful.

Considering the inexpensive price I would recommend Days Inn for people on a budget as it was good value.

They for some reason require a $500 deposit for BC residents. Will only shuttle you either to the ferry or from it but won't do both despite it only being a 4 km trip. Check-in is 4 pm not 3 pm as the websites might tell you, and checkout is 11 am not 12 pm. Their breakfast is a juice box, banana and some granola bars. Rooms are acceptable for the price but small and nothing special. There is no thermostat in the rooms nor will the heat be turned on when you arrive. You have to find just the right spot on the temperature gauge on the heater or you wake up multiple times in the night either shivering or sweating.

Best hotel for people travel on a budget. Clean and huge size room. Breakfast and parking included which means you can save even more. Some people must have been smoking in the room, so they sprayed heavily which I can't stand it, but on my second day staying all the smell are gone, as I opened my window full time

Boo to Days Inn for not allowing us to cancel a reservation with over two weeks notice. BOOKED THROUGH EXPEDIA, never again!

Stayed here one night and really for my short stay i thought the price was right for what you received. Nice room, good breakfast and free airport shuttle.

Wish I could give this place a decent review- room is spacious, beds are comfy. Our issue was with the service. Our room absolutely REEKED of soap/carpet cleaner with a strong undertone of urine. It was sickening! Even opening a window (in the cold spring night, mind you) did little to alleviate the putrid stench. Management was hesitant to take us seriously when we requested another room, told us they were sold out, and then offered not one bit of additional assistance. I do not recommend staying here if you value cleanliness, good customer service, or being able to fall asleep at night without wanting to vomit.

Nice hotel for the price I paid. Clean room, quite environment but rude people. But I would recommend for people who are there for short stay around the airport. Similar environment in other hotels around n yet they are pricey compared to this hotel

Crusty spots in floor, weird dirty chair, mold in curtains. Preferred a cheap backwater hotel in a developing nation to this.

Advertised pay parking during vacation then didn’t have room for our vehicle. Advertised a free shuttle and when we tried to get a ride back to the hotel we were put on hold and could not reach the hotel. Would never stay here again!

Horrible place. Victoria was the receptionist that helped me, she was rude, unfriendly and very discriminatory. She did not allowed me to go in the shuttle with my mother to the aeroporto to drop her off and comeback in the shuttle to the hotel, while I was still a guest. Also in the parking lot there were piles and piles of trash bags right by where the cars shud park. The place smells bad, the breakfast is horrible and the rooms are smelly and outdated. Stay else where specially if you need helpful staff for specific situations.

Location isn't bad; 4 minute walk to River Rock Casino, and 2 minute walk to Foody World, which is good for a super-entertaining lark. Staff is super-friendly and pleasant; management not so much. Rooms are reasonably well-equipped for the price. We would have had a nice 6th floor view of the mountains, Vancouver city, and the casino, had the windows ever been washed.

We were visiting so I only went there to sleep. Most of the time we were in the mountains. Near the airport.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back to the UK.quite near the sky train which for $16 a day ticket will take you all over vancouver. It's expensive for what it is. My son.and partner got bitten by something in the beds. Continental breakfast which also does fresh made waffles if liked. We didn't eat there. No pool and slap bang in the middle of a area they are building up.
 Very isolated if travelling alone. Across the busy street is a burger king, subway and a liquor store. If you come out and turn left, first right and walk past the set off traffic lights on the left there is a lil gem called Italian tomato restaurant  (beautiful) 10/10 average price $23 a main. That made the stay at this hotel bearable. Would pay extra to stay at one of the better hotels.

Not a luxurious hotel but the rooms are clean, beds are great and pillows are a dream. Good breakfast in the morning and the staff are very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
