Braved the cold for the Winter Explorer tour and had a fantastic experience! The weather was cold but sunny and calm. Mike was a great guide and had lots to share about the area as we paddled. Would highly recommend for all levels, I’m a beginner kayaker and felt completely comfortable:)

Today was an overcast and misty day.in other words a perfect day for paddling the cove and environs. I have enjoyed paddling the New England coast for many years. This was a completely different and breathtaking experience. Our guide, Eimear (? Spelling), was competent, knowledgeable and delightful throughout the 3 hour tour (. And the doughnut was great) I would recommend this experience without reservation.

On Aug 24,2023 we booked a 3-hr private kayak tour at Deep Cove and Rory was our guide. Our group was 2 adults + 2 teens in two pairs of kayak. We had a good time paddling, watching the seals, looking at the amazing houses by the shore, and just soaking in the beautiful nature of Deep Cove. Rory was everything a professional kayak instructor could be. He introduced the surrounding landscape and history very well and was very patient when we couldn't keep up with the group. He even brought the delicious doughnuts from Honey Doughnuts and Goodies so we could snack while we took a break on this tiny island. The tour was a worthwhile experience at a reasonable price. Thank you Rory. We will definitely return for more fun.

We did the three hour tour on a Thursday afternoon with Josh as our guide. He was an excellent guide and we had a great experience! He had great advice on technique and helped us learn about the area. A big plus was that the kayaks had rudders which really helped with steering.

Awesome place, very professional and friendly staff.great equipment. Very nice location to see Deep Cove from the water.
Don't forget to bring ziplock bags for your phone and the items you don't want getting soaked, although the kayaks have plenty of storage room on them.

Staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the kayaks were in great shape. But the view is the real money ️

This is my go to place when I want to spend an afternoon taking advantage of BC's great outdoors. I have rented kayaks, taken their paddling courses and gone out on a group tour and each time I have had a great time. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable making recommendations about the best direction to go (based on the tides and winds) and ensuring you have a safe paddle. Great idea adding GPS trackers to the standard equipment too!

I did my first tandem kayaking here—overall great experience. I also took out a newbie, and the staff made me feel comfortable by providing clear directions and a GPS tracker. Make sure to pre-book online. You can also rent a waterproof bag should you forget to bring one.

3hours of pure happiness, thanks to our great guide, for his smile and little anecdotes about Vancouver. Amazing adventure!

I had the best experience! Great views, Lake is located in between Pleasant and beautiful neighborhoods & mountains on the other side. Pictures say it rest

For my first time kayaking this was a great experience. No waiting. Staff was very efficient from check in to training to getting us set up on the kayak. So efficient and making the whole experience so enjoyable. A great first time kayaking and we will be back. Highly recommend.

I've used them a couple times now and every time they're on the ball, excellent area to kayak and super easy going group. We had to make a last minute re-book due to one of our party feeling ill and waiting on a covid result (negative thankfully!) and they made it super easy to reschedule and we were lucky they still have availability for the next day!

Parking an issue, but apon arrival greeted by friendly staff. Quick instructions and then off to enjoy.

Conveniently located and great staff. The life jackets provided were wet and smelled really bad. Yuck! Other than that, great rentals.

Such a beautiful area to kayak! Booking online was a breeze and when we had to delay our start time by a couple hours, the staff were so helpful and accommodating. We really enjoyed our time on the water but it might be helpful to look at possible routes ahead of time so you can plan what you want to see/go but other than that, a great experience!:)

Great place to rent water equipment. Well organized, efficient, lots of staff to help. Decent quality for rentals. Awesome location for water sports, you couldn't find a better place to paddleboard or kayak.

Had a great time kayaking here, the view was beautiful. Parking is limited as there’s a bit of construction in the area, they even advise you to arrive 45 minutes early to find parking.

I took the beginner's kayak & intro to capsize. There were 6 students. Learned a lot from Osfrey, our instructor (I hope I got the name right, if not, sorry). She was helpful & patient. The course was a full day, 3 hrs am & 3 hrs pm. You must have good strength & stamina during the capsize. Good lessons all in all.

Girlfriend and I had an amazing experience here, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. It’s such an easy yet affordable activity on a sunny day, we paid $70+tax for 2 hours in a 2 seat kayak and it was plenty of time. Would definitely recommend the water and views are very scenic, great example of beautiful BC. Parking was such a hassle though took 15-20 minutes to find a spot and there is a lot of construction at the moment. There’s some really nice cafes and spots just up the street.

These guys are always very customer friendly, take time to explain all mandatory stuff and make sure you are all set for a good ride. Saving time with online stuff as well. Very efficient.

They were friendly and efficient, and the landscape, seascape, and wildlife here were simply spectacular. (We saw many seals and large jellyfish in particular!)

We had a stellar day out on the water with the Malibu open double kayak with room for the medium sized dog. Went down to Cates Park. Landed and had a picnic. The day was brilliant. First time kayaking for the 12 year old dog- he seemed to really enjoy the experience.

Awesome beautiful place and an amazing experience.
We showed up without a reservation and were able to rent the huge 6 people paddle board, it was awesome.
The cove itself is beautiful, one of the most wonderful places to kayak or paddle board I’ve ever been to.
The kids that work as instructors do a really good job too, keep it up!

My family and I came here on a Saturday early morning and everything was ready for us. The staff was helpful and friendly. They gave us thorough instructions and tips for we had a lot of first timers with us. The kayak adventure was peaceful and you can explore and see different wildlife and places. It wasn't crowded when we went. I would suggest coming in earlier than scheduled for their parking lot fill up pretty fast.

Professional, organized and equipment is in good condition. No wonder they are busy! Be sure to make a reservation so you aren't disappointed and ask them for recommendations on where to go when you're out:)

Deep Cove Kayak is the best. Staff members are all friendly, attentive, and super helpful. The kayaks and equipment are all in great condition and are well maintained as well.

Their Kayaks are great, but they're way too overpriced. Consider renting one if you're only in town for a few days. Otherwise not it's worth it.

Took SUP class there and then rented a SUP after few days. It is the best place to learn SUP because of very knowledgeable Instructor and calm waters and oh my God extremely beautiful. The staff is nice too and made renting painless.

If you are looking for something fun to do this summer, and you don't know where to go or what to do and you do not have the right equipment, Deep Cove Kayak Centre has everything you need. They have kayaks and stand up paddle boards for rentals. They also offer lessons as well.

Me and my friend went here to try Kayaking for the first time. Booking online was nice and easy. It is pretty straightforward. When you arrive around the area, parking can be very limited. We found an elementary school so we decided to park there. It is a 10 minute walk from the school parking lot to the Kayak Centre. There are plenty of food stores and shops if you walk around you will find them.

The staff were friendly and super helpful from signing in to giving a quick safety orientation and basic instructions on Kayaking. The staff was knowledgeable and made sure we were ready to hit the waters in a safe manner. There are a lot of kayakers and paddle boarders around the area so we went just a little farther to have more space. The scenic view in the area is absolutely amazing. It is nice to be with nature once in awhile. I highly recommend this place for your fun summer water activity. Will definitely come back!

Disappointing experience. We were provided a kayak with a broken seat back for a 48hour rental making the paddling experience incredibly uncomfortable. Manager acknowledged the kayak was faulty on the rental but offered no partial refund or future discount. Very poor customer service

This is my favorite place to rent kayaks from! Friendly staff, and gorgeous surroundings! We always see sealife when we come here and it's such a fun experience! Last time we saw a bunch of friendly, adorable seals right up close sunning themselves! Will be back again and again! ‍️

Highly recommend their Friday night tours. It is absolutely one of those experiences you have to try. When I went I was able to see a shoot star!

Good choice of outdoor activity if you don’t mind spending some money. Btw, get ready for sore arms the next day if you haven’t really exercised for awhile. Wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet and dirty.
*IMPORTANT* bring extra change of clothing because most likely you will get your butt wet.

Love this place for renting kayaks and paddle boards. Friendly service and rental stuff during busy and non busy hours. I would highly recommend this place, the prices after reasonable. Have been coming here for years!

First time kayaking and it was wonderful! Friendly staff and quality equipment. We went at 9am on a Monday and it was very easy and fast to get a rental.

They rent kayaks and paddleboards. Nothing fancy. Prices are a bit of a rip compared to better equivalents that you can rent elsewhere.

Took the Level 1 Paddle Canada course here. Fantastic experience having never paddled a kayak before. Jason B was a brilliant guide, paced the course well and tailored it to what the group wanted to get out of the weekend. He was attentive to our nerves and any difficulties. We all completed the course successfully. Really knowledgeable not just about kayaking but the local area, its history and the local nature. I would highly recommend Deep Cove Kayak to anyone looking to learn new paddling skills in safety and in beautiful surroundings.

Really good operation. Variety of tours and a good bunch of people working there. Defo worth a visit and a few hours if in Vancouver

Super happy about our private tour here with Nick. We had a family of 9 with mostly young kids. Nick played to the crowd and even structured a few races for the kids. He took us to see seals and allowed us to go at our own pace. Prices were reasonable here and the set up was really quick. Turns out we were actually Nick's first private tour. Thanks for everything Nick!

Also, last summer I had accidentally booked the wrong day for 6 of us to go out for a kayak. We showed up the next day by accident and it was super busy. Deep Cove Kayak Centre rallied every last piece of equipment together so that we could still go out for a paddle. I'm super appreciative of them going above and beyond when something was my own mistake. Thank you. We've been 5 times now and will return!

A friend and I rented out a double kayak for 2 hours. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The helped us make a plan for our kayaking route and ensured that we were comfortable with our kayaks. The rental process was stress free and easy. I would come back here every time. For people coming here, 2 hours is good enough.

Wonderful time on the water with them. Service was quick and efficient, we were in and out fast, and the equipment was in great shape. We had a blast on the water, and even got to see some seals! If we're ever back in the area, we'll be back for sure.

Great place to start your kayak or SUP adventures. They offer variety of good programs and also kayak and SUP rentals including all the related and required stuff. Staff are great and happy to help. I personally took kayaking courses with them and could not ask for more. Totally recommend.
Also good area to bring your kayak or SUP for a day of paddling but parking is the major pain as so many people come to visit this beautiful area.

Booking was complicated as we left to Friday for a group of seven. But after booking sorted out, the experience was fantastic. We had two instructors/guides who were knowledgeable and fun. Kids had a great time. We will be back for sure!

Rented kayaks for a busy Sunday morning. Got a bit of an overview of how to manage the boat. The instructions for routes was not very clear and had to ask about it a couple of times. That being said, process was very simple.

Equipment and staff have gone downhill. Small plastic short boats from unknown brands, cheap life jackets, partial spray skirts. Prices have gone up significantly to cater to tourists. I wish there was some better options for more experienced kayakers from this launching point that prefer better equipment at a place that has become seemingly all about profit.
