Stunning efforts in having the lights set up for Christmas, it was better than last year. It's closed for the season. Great to spend an evening here and learn about history of Burnaby.

This is a local favourite, so if you have not checked this location out, it's a must-do. Nice paths and a lovely lake. Great spot for photographs or taking the kids for a visit. Summer boating is available.

Only downside would be the Geese leaving lots of calling cards on teh grass and sand by the lake.

Managed to finally do the entire Lake to find other beautiful spots to checkout. I was very impressed by the dam/fal near the equestria club.l

My go to spots for a long evening walk once in a while. Due to a closed route at the trail beginning, I discovered a longer but authentically pleasing loop end starting from right of boat launch parking. Exit at oak street, turn right on walker street and the view at the top of staris back at Sterling Ave

Quiet, Peaceful & Beautiful park with an easy walking trail around the lake, suitable for all ages. You can bring dogs to the trail on leashed but cannot bring them inside the park

We entered the trail from the boat rental store which locates next to the park and it took less than 1.5 hours to complete the trail back to the parking lots (we walked alongside of the lake)
The trail is partial shaded by trees & some areas are fully exposed with Sunlight (vitamin D moments)

Bonus - we saw many gooses, unfortunately no deer in the Deer Lake. Haha

Beautiful, with several animals. The existence of a large preserved area in the center of the urban area in the metropolitan area of Vancouver is impressive.

A nice loop trail with a good restaurant, Hart House, Centre of Art, and Art Gallery around. But the parking lot is small. It is very hard to find a parking space in weekends.

Peaceful park. Seems like a spot to just chill, stroll through the trail on an afternoon walk or walk the dog. The scenery was very beautiful and the people there kept good distance.

I saw no deer, but I saw a lake. I recommend name change to "Lake Park, " otherwise it's great.

It's a good place to go for a stroll in summer and boating is pretty fun, but the ducks by the swing area are very cute, although you are not allowed to feed them. This place is close to Burnaby Village museum and Shalbolt Centre. In winter it gets pretty icey here and it is good exercise to walk around the lake. In autumn, the leaves are wonderfully coloured. The best time to come here is late summer/early autumn. This is one of the best places to see the Metrotown skyline.

Generally mild rises and dips. Some areas closer to Dover will have longer steep rises. Wide dirt path okay for wheelchairs and strollers. Watch out the dirt paths are shared with bikers. Wooden walkways are only for pedestrians. Pathways are one way however, please try to understand when the elderly and kids go counter flow when they need to go back.
Oh yes, walk with a bear bell.

Such a beautiful place with some sweet and cute spots to enjoy. I was ecstatic to see that there is even a place for renting kayaks and paddle boats to do stuff in the water. The lake is pretty big and there are trails all over the park.

Beautiful, quite, sereen, lots of Canadian Geese around floating on the water. Very busy place when I was growing up, but now it seems very quite. Nice place to take the kids for boating or Canoeing.
Its really funny, but when I was just turnimg 15yrs we use to come from Richmond to do community picnics, & barbaques here at Deer Lake Park. The adults would be cooking, playing cards, some did performances, dancing & US Kids use to go swimming, using the slide to jump into the water & some would do boating. Those were the days, but now there is no humans swimming on this lake. Just dogs, Geese, sometomes a crow or two can be spoted drinking some water or the Seagals. Good place for walking. Public comes often to go walking on the trails.

Always a treat to spend time at Deer Lake. Our favorite hiking spot in Burnaby, the boardwalk loop is about 45 mins easy walk, lots of different trails around can make it into a longer walk with little hills and beautiful views all around. Sometimes turtles can been found sunbathing on a log or frogs can be seen around marshy areas along the edges. Geese and ducks are always around swimming in the lake. Picnic areas provide a fun area to hangout with family and friends. If you get a chance, go and explore this precious part of Burnaby.

Great place for a scenic walk or jog. It's okay for bikes or scooters as significant portions of the trail discourage the use of on boarded areas.

Boat rentals are available for the season up til end of September, however they said weekends only for that month.
